I miss the weekly dev streams, where the devs kept us updated on everything that was planned.
I also miss the roadmap we got 2 years ago. That one really helped with getting an overview.
All in all, there hasn´t been much communication from the devs and i think this needs to change drastically.

Streamers will take the hit for the rest of us to achieve balance. XD
We´ll see. I remember some streamers were not particuarly happy during the 24 hour test.

How will it lead to less DCs? Top survivors going against nurse and spirit will probably DC a lot more
MMR shouldn´t be affected by disconnects.
So everyone exept streamers and seal team 6 squads will love the new MMR.

the OG is the nurse thread and then out of sheer boredom I started the first mimic post yesterday (which was shut down so it wouldn't become a meme).
it seems that it was fated to be. i'm kinda disappointed at the lack of misspelling against though
I´ve seen now 5 threads with the "I´m not playing XXX"
It surely is becoming a new meme.
-
Did i miss something? Is this the new meme of the forum?

I'm playing killer my self so don't think this is a survivor main cry talk. I'm just confused. People are crying for months and are still not happy.
Wraith got 2 buff updates
Clown got reworked and is a lot stronger
Blight is fixed
Trappers traps are now having a better luck chance
Ds got nerfed
Trickster getting a buff next wee
Survivor animations are now more clear (Hillbilly is happy)
Like common, every killer gets update after Update buffed. Yeah I know sfw is stronger but bhvr is finally trying to make the game more balanced so just wait for new amazing changes.
- Wraith: didn´t really changed a lot.
- Clown: the 2 clown mains on the forum are happy and that sums up all the people that are happy about the buff.
- Blight: got more bugs than before. He bumps off things that he shouldn´t, like invisible walls and he slides past things that he shouldn´t, like cars.
- Trapper: needs some love, because he is VERY addon dependant.
- DS: necesary nerf. It was used in ways that were unintended.
- Trickster: we´ll see how the buffs affect him. Until then i won´t judge.
- Survivor animations: ???
If killers (or survivors) would be fixed, then survivors wouldn´t have 10 minute queues during prime time. So it´s actually a very good indicator on the game balance. Whatever side has long queues, is being stronger.
-
Yes?
-
Please don´t get me wrong on this... but... i could kiss you!
This is hilarious! You made my day.
-
Yes, thats correct. It´s especially bad when you have a daily for a killer you are not used to. Or test the new killer.
-
Gas can - additional objective of gasoline for the gens.
Target - increases the amount of bloodpoints that are earned while carrying it.
Bullet proofed vest - Gain 1 additional health state. Reduces running speed by 15%
"Metal" detector - helps finding chests, totems, glyphs, traps

4 hooks is quaranteed for you pretty much every match as a passive effect and going for saves every time usually is not very productive if you want to win aswell. You need to focus on altruism and if your teammates already do that you should just be the gen jockey.
Bbq is pretty much passive effect wglf has conditions if you want to win.
4 hooks are not guaranteed. Someone disconnects or you get gen rushed and you get 2 or 3 stacks of BBQ. Thats not the problem with WGLF.
-
When you see a gen at 90% and regressing. Do you finish it or do you ignore it and go for a fresh 0% gen instead?
Survivors complain about tunneling, when they do the exact same thing as the killer. Each survivor has 3 lives. The killer has 5 gens which would count as lives, since the game is almost over when they are done.
So maybe, once survivors stop tunneling gens, killers will stop tunneling survivors.

It's the same on hawkins and I think on the saloon the possible spawns are also very limited.
That is very limiting. Especially with the current gen speed.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
It's a feature, and spawns when the overall pallet count on the map is too low
Talking about the general pallet spawns. Has anyone noticed that when you play Freddy with the pallet addon, on the Silent hill map, that there are no free pallet spawns? You can only set a fake pallet, when you break one.

Ok, so nobody knows for sure. Grrrrreat!

But equaly people compete with way less killers during the day, yet killer queues are very long during the day and survivor queues are super fast.
Later, in the evening its also those killers who come home from work and yet killer queues are really fast .
On the one and you say more players play survivor, but on the other that is also needed because for every 1 killer player, you need 4 survivor players.
Killers have a queue of 2 or 3 minutes during the day and 5 to 20 second queue in the evening/night.
Survivors have a 5 to 30 second queue during the day and 5-10 minute queues in the evening/night.
Which means, there are far more survivors than killers matching up for the game. Far more than the desired 4 to 1 ratio. Even the devs admitted it.

Thank you I think sometimes I’m letting people dictate my gameplay. I never go In to be a d.... I just want to have fun and then move on to the next game and have fun.
Of course you want to have fun. Thats what games are for. But some people are really *chat filter intensifies*. So its best to ignore them and move on.
Whenever you feel frustrated about the game, try to play some meme matches. Like patroling gens and then run away from survivors. Or try getting as many hooks as possible without killing people. Or by using addons that render the killers power useless, but give bonus points.

When i first started playing him I hated it.
But when I got the right perks and add ons, he became really strong and way more fun.
I miss old Freddy. Playing hit&run was fun. Coming back for survivors that thought they´re save and healed was the best feeling ever!

Having a job pretty much prevents from playing during the day...
This is why there is more survivors at evening. They have time to play. At daytime there is more killers because playing killer is more fun than solo survivor.
Exactly!

yes I did, hence my remark....come on man.
People work during the day. Thats why survivors compete with way less survivors during the day, but get long queues once people come home from work. Thats the only reason why survivors have shorter queues during the morning. Which means, that it isn´t a problem that can be solved by just not going to work and playing during the day.

Did you even bother to read before you left an unintelligent remark?
Did you?
-
I´m so sorry for you. People shouldn´t mock players after a match. Especially when they are new like you.
In regard of tips, just play how you like. Don´t let survivors dictate what and what not to do during the match.
You´ll get more points, when you don´t focus on a single player. BUT sometimes its better to focus someone out, in order to slow the game down and pressure survivors.
-
@BioX said:
there is no queue problem ,it depends on the time of day for some reason, during the day survivor queues are nigh instand but during the evening they take forever but killer queues then go really fast.
I wonder what people are doing during the day, that prevents them from playing...

4 wglf stacks is way harder to get than 4 bbq stacks.
Baseline you get more bp and easier stacks for more consitent double bp.
What was your point?
4 WGLF stacks are WAAAAAY easier to get than 4 BBQ stacks. You can get 3 stacks with a single unhook.
Try that with killer.
-
Imagine every killer would do what you do, whenever they see a flashlight or a key.

If you get bbq first i completely disagree. Your bp gain as killer outweighs survivour so much that youll be faster in getting what you want.
WGLF exists, you know?
-
It's this behavior that causes survivors to have long queues. Then they wonder why no one wants to play bully simulator.
-
This tendency has been getting clearer during the last year. First we had a severe lack of red rank killers. Then the matchmaking tried to compensate this by matching lower rank killers with red rank survivors. A few months ago we even reached the point of rank 17 killers getting matched against red ranks.
Now add to this new player experience that:
If you lose, survivors bully you and mock you in the endgame chat.
If you win, survivors haunt your profile for days, leaving nasty accusations and demanding that you uninstall.
Do people really wonder that killers stop playing when they get either bullied or harassed?

If you were actually there during those times, then you would know the majority of the survivor player base was saying he was "OP" because once you got put into the dream, Freddy got a "free hit". DbD got hit with I'm pretty sure its biggest review bomb at the time so of course BHVR took action
Trickster is more than likely gonna receive buffs, the devs got smarter when making killers just look back at the ones we've gotten in the last year, all of them are viable and are placed high up in the majority of tier lists. Trickster is the only exception and I have hope.
I was there... 2000 years ago... oh wait...
It wasn´t the majority of the playerbase but thousands of new (free) players that played against him (and only him) during the (free) double bloodpoint event.

Old freddy was not weak, even after his anti slug nerf. Freddy was still strong assuming you played him as a hit-and-run killer. And not just some bozo who slept one dude and then only chased him.
Also, you left out context for why the freddy nerf even happened, they released him during a free weekend and all the brand new timmys got to experience the joys of being slugged by freddy because he was the slug king back then(you had to wake people up off the ground before you could heal them).
It was actually a free and double bloodpoint weekend. People with less than 2 hours of gameplay review bombed the game.
Oh and i mained Freddy before his rework.

I would highly doubt that would happen again. They want people to play their new killer no?
Freddy was nerfed 1 week after his release. A few weeks later, the devs recognized that they went over the top with it. Yet the rework/buff took them 2 years. Fire Up, a perk people thought it was bugged, because its effect was so small, still hasn´t changed in all those years.
The devs being very vague about the changes is what worries me.

"Now asking, that killers need to chase survivors off the gens is a insult to every killer who used Undying Ruin."
Oh, wow, the Killer has to apply pressure. Sorry that Killers have to do something to get their Kills.
Oh its not the applying pressure that bothers killers. It´s the complaints from survivors and the nerfs, when killers actually did what was requested from them.
Because apparently, cleansing totems was to much to ask for from survivors. But that is a whole different thread, isn´t it?

Because it is in response to someone saying that the Trickster is very underpowered. Context is important.
As i said, Freddy was also considered a weak killer. Then they promised to change him and nerfed him.
-
Why does everyone think the changes will be buffs?
Does nobody remember the Freddy release 2 years ago? Everybody said, Freddy was weak and after a week he got changed: by nerfing him!
So i wouldn´t be to optimistic here.

We must be playing in different universes or something. Old Ruin was better for setup killers but you cannot tell me with a straight face that new ruin is weaker.
As someone who can consistently hit Great skill checks, old Ruin was a complete joke, and I'd often go entire gens without losing any progression at all. At least now, its active wether a team is good at skill checks or not, with the trade off of needing to actually chase them off.
New Ruin is absolute trash. It does nothing when a survivor hugs a gen. Now asking, that killers need to chase survivors off the gens is a insult to every killer who used Undying Ruin. Because guess what, killers did exactly that, survivors didn´t like it and got it nerfed. The new Ruin was only good in combination with the old Undying.

I still see Ruin used in at least 50% of my survivor matches, just because Ruin / Undying isn't a free win against solos any more, doesn't mean that it isn't a useful build.
Its a useless build. Ruin usage seems to be on a all time low. Just had 10 matches in a row without it.

Well it's not gonna be fun for people who have loads of hours invested into this game, whether it be casual people who play this game a lot, someone who's not a streamer but has a lot of hours who plays competitively, and the streamers of course. There's nothing wrong with having challenging matches, but if my survivor games are just Nurse and Spirit constantly I'll get bored because lack of variety.
I had a blast during the 24h test. My killer matches felt more relaxing and my survivor matches were with competent survivors. So i´m optimistic in that regard.

... I guess you missed the 2 million times I said this is from 2019 and not too representative. But you can have an idea. It'd be useful to see 2021 stats.
From personal experience. With how fast the gens go these days. The kill rate would be much lower. But we probably won´t ever get useful stats.

The people who like to play this game causally, are not gonna have a fun time if MMR actually works. High MMR is basically gonna be Hexy's tournament, which will really result in boring games for both sides.

I'm pretty sure I've been playing killer for way longer than you. I started on 2016 release. You?
Also, since when rank matters? I'm red rank. And? Do you think rank means something in this game? What means is you play more than 1 match a day. That's it.
I like how someone who probably has half my hours and started playing this years after me is trying to lecture me and explain to me how this or that works. Yeah... I know how it works.
I know this because they've shown the stats many times on stream through youtube/twitch. You had to be here to know though, and you probably weren't. They haven't released stats for a while so the last info we have is kinda outdated. This is from 2019, and the average escape rate was about 30%, means 70% died. So about 1 survivor (a bit more than that but didn't reach 2 survivors).
That was in 2019. Today? the escape rate must be more around 20%.
I encourage you to lecture people who at least don't know more than you about the topic being discussed, it kinda seems ignorant.
2 years old stats... like... really? 2 years ago, moris were useful, ruin actually slowed gens down, billy was the most balanced killer and nurse was meta.

Oh the good old day's of freddy.
So much fun with red paint brush and purple Z block.
The always thought they could reach a pallet before falling asleep 😂
Used to had a nice strong solid build with him back in the days, was so much fun to see the survivors struggling against him, even though he was considered as the weakest killer back then
He was a lot of fun back then. Keeping all 4 survivors all the time asleep wasn´t an easy task. But it sure felt rewarding. People called him pay2lose back then. But i loved it.

I actually like what they’ve done with it but I’d make one change to it
Make it work on both hook stages even if used on the first. Why shouldn’t the killer be punished for tunnelling the same guy off both hooks?
I wouldn´t give DS the inbuild second hit. But instead i´d like to have a perk that increases the amount of uses, the one time use perks like DS and Unbreakable have.
-
People still use moris?
-
@CheesyGuy said:
Nope it's not. Sometimes that happens. When I was rank 5 I teamed with rank 16-18 so it's all about the game system and sadly it is not that balanced. Especially at night times many people wanted to play survs and solo survs can not find proper lobbies due to overpopulation. I hope with new MMR it is gonna be fixed.
Nah, the new MMR will not fix that. You´ll just not see the ranks.
The issue can´t be fixed by the MMR, because the issue isn´t caused by the MMR. It actually tries its best to give survivors fast matches. But since there are not enough killers around, it ends up matching everything with the first killer that clicks ready. Which results in rainbow matches.
