Someone did math on reddit but I think as of last chapter it would take a full 3 years to p3 and unlock all perks on every character in the game. Provided that you play a minimum of like 10 matches a day every day. The grind is real
That's way to much grind for a new player. Because it never ends, by the time he managed to get a few killers on p3, another chapter released.

I'm guessing you haven't played the ptb yet, so I can understand your confusion here. But you CAN hit survivors over pallets and vaults at tier 1 already. You gain the ability to break pallets at tier 2.
I am going to argue that if you lose three gens during the first chase though, then you've probably messed up quite a bit during that chase, unless you are playing a killer that doesn't have a power that helps in chases. This is also why spreading damage is pretty helpful in most situations.
And since Nemesis can hit over pallets, windows, or other low objects, hitting a survivor 3 times isn't all too hard either. Though I would suggest not chasing the first survivor you get a hit on immediately, unless there is reason to believe no other survivor is nearby.
If a survivor is unhooking in front of you, you don't need to use his ability, just hit him normally and chances are the rescuing survivor won't get to another pallet or window in time.
Plague can hit survivors over pallets and windows, but if they don't cleanse she can't down survivors with her puke except for one time when she uses her default pool. So if they are one shot, you won't have the ability to down them with your puke. If survivors are constantly one shot, she is nothing but an M1 killer. Her puke does go further distances, but on the other hand, you have to hit them repeatedly with your puke in order to injure them, unless of course you have your special power. Nemesis just whips out his tentacle and gets a hit. He also doesn't have to waste time going to a fountain in order to down survivors with his power, not to mention the fact that his power being able to down isn't dependent on survivors. The time it takes to release his attack is also much less then the time it takes to charge up Plagues puke attack.
Last but not least, Nemesis has two zombies that help him apply map pressure. So in general I disagree, I believe Nemesis is definitely stronger than Plague. Plague not being A tier we agree on. But I feel like Nemesis will be A tier, or at the very least B+.
I played mainly survivor during the PTB. Nemesis was no threat at all. His whip has a wonky hitbox and is very easy to avoid.
The examples of 3 gens going by the first hook is from my solo survivor matches.
People see the zombies as a strong side power. But on most maps they will just be something to mainly ignore or disable by using a flashlight.
He's not a strong killer. I'm getting release Freddy vibes from him. Where everyone thought he's OP, while he was one of the weakest killers.
But we'll see.

I made a post asking about that as well. I am 1000% on board with more blood point events and them being announced a few weeks out so that we can plan better. I made a post about early announcement in the general and feedback sections, maybe they get traction, but I think it is silly that they dont tell us when they announce events that bloodhunts go on from x day - x day... and why dont we have more bloodhunts, when p3 is literally only a cosmetic upgrade.... but takes quite a bit to overhaul for an average player. good publicity means more people playing and shorter queue times.
Also, their codes notoriously expire fast. I am not saying it is right, but I think the idea is that it was for those watching the stream. I expected it to only work during the time it was live
I'll never understand why they are so hesitant to give out bloodpoints. I can't imagine how hard the grind would look for new players.

My bad, corrected.
Yeah new game modes and couple other things were scrapped. MMR was already running in the background collecting information when it was announced a year ago as well and we still don't have it.
I agree that a real roadmap would have been 10 times better than what we got this year. Even when they scrap one idea or another.

They should still have enough time to chase and hit other players.
Tunneling happens on both sides, with the difference that one doesn't complain about it. But that's a whole different discussion.

If you dont have offernings, then fine... but 64k as a killer still is not that long to recover. IF you play the game, you have offerings. I was offering alternatives to get more blood points. If you want to argue about offerings, then ok. If you play a killer any amount you get a 100% bp offering every other web or so. I think it is pretty close to the same for survivors... as well as many others along the way. You're being devensive of an alternative view, or solution, as I see it. We dont need to go back and forth. I am telling you I am more than happy to show you how to get 250k in an hour as a killer. If you do not want that, then okay, and I wish you good luck in your games.
The people that needed the code the most are usually the people that don´t have all perks for perfect bloodpoint farming unlocked.

24 hours is not a moments notice, my point was that it was not the most tragic thing in the world. Yet here you are on this hill with me..... Go look at my last few posts. I am also trying to get them to see that. I was simply saying that you can make up the lost points in an hour or so if you play killer, maybe a bit more as a survivor. Maybe instead of white knighting, you can also offer constructive ways to BP farm, if you missed a gift opportunity.... which was a gift...
In any case, have fun in your future endeavors in dbd, see you in the fog. You can have your hill back.
But the codes didn´t even last 24 hours.

You can, and I would be more than happy to help you understand how. Even using no bp offerings and having a 32k game, with bbq and chili you make 64k baseline with a killer. same for survivor, though getting 4 stacks of wglf and having a 32k game is noticably harder. Throw 100% gain on it with offerings you get and you make what I said. With a bp offering it is not uncommon for me to get 96k games..... with just bbq boost.
64k and 120k are 2 completely diffent things. Especially since you said without party streamers, envelopes, etc.
64k is achievable. Everything above is not.
So again, those numbers are not achievable without any offerings.
-
@Dodgingbears said:
You can realistically (with no party buffs like streamers or envelpes, etc) make 50-70k as a survivor and 75-120k as a killer.
No, you can´t. At least not without offerings (as you said).

But a tunneling killer will usually tunnel as many people as possible. Not just one person.
Tunnel as many people as possible? Killer first tunnels someone out. Then, depending on how efficient the others were, the killer can start tunneling someone else or not. Injuring everyone isn´t tunneling. So that first tunnel could be seen as an offense.
I remember a match where i hooked survivor A, then survivor B, then C, then D, before chasing survivor A again. Once i downed him, he disconnected and left me a -rep tunneling killer message on my profile. Those are the kind of people, i expect to abuse the charm to report everyone who dares to down them.
-

And if i know this community, they will abuse that. They will use this charm and when they get killed, they will blame killer. They will say " You did tunnel me because of this charm" and maybe innocent people will get ban for that.
Exactly! What hinders a 4 man SWF team to all report the killer?
We have a extremely salty/toxic community. People report for all kinds of nonsense. Now they would have a "valid" reason to get killers banned.

I don't even get this comparison. Could you please explain that comparison, cause it makes absolutely 0 sense to me.
His ability is very strong in chases since it can hit survivors over pallets and vaults. Even with the limited range it's still very strong.
Further more, there are two zombies in each match that can apply some nice, additional map pressure.
If survivors don't get vaccinated, they go down after two hits from Nemesis ability, but Nemesis will have a harder time tiering up his ability. If survivors do vaccinate, they waste a bit of time and getting hit by the ability of Nemesis gives him some more charge, but now they can take 3 hits instead of 2. So survivors are pretty much given the option what to do, with one not being necessarily better than the other in my opinion.
I wouldn't mind more encouragement for vaccinating, in fact the one change I would hope for, is to have Nemesis simply build up his tiers over time based on how many survivors are infected, and then increasing the amount of vaccinations on the map to 8 or something similar. But if they don't change that, I still think he'll be in a good spot.
Current game meta is to rush gens. Its not rare to lose 2 or 3 gens during the first chase. Which is a 2 hit chase. Now make it a 3 hit chase and the killer faces losing 4 gens until he gets his first hook. At that time, the power is still not in T2. So he can´t use it to hit over pallets. The unhook will be pretty safe, because again 3 hits to down the rescuing survivor. By the time the killer gets his second hook, the last gen will be repaired.
Terrible tradeoff to get the power to hit over pallets (something the Huntress or the Plague can do)
Plagues power exposes survivors. Current meta against her is to not cleanse and just rush gens. So survivor that require just 1 hit to get downed, can beat Plague by just hugging gens. Plague can hit over pallets and her puke can down survivors in a greater distance than Nemesis. So in all terms Plague is better than Nemesis.
Plague isn´t exactly a S tier killer. So Nemesis also won´t be.

If the killer tunneled them and no one else.
See, thats an issue. Because one of the ways to deal with the current gen rush meta is to tunnel someout out early. Now killers have to fear getting banned over this?

What if people wear them specifically to report everyone who kills them as hate crime?

But he has his power? Or am I misunderstanding something? He can use his ability even at tier 1, it just has slightly less range and can't break pallets. And you can still charge up your ability by killing zombies, even if that is a bit time consuming.
Also, 3 hitting is not a problem when considering how strong his ability is.
Thats like calling Plague OP, because her ability exposes survivors that touch infected gens.
His power is everything but strong.
-
@ad19970 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2221978#Comment_2221978
That's not quite true. His power is pretty strong even at tier 1, and survivors that are infected only need two hits of nemesis ability to go down, if they aren't infected, they will need 3 hits to go down. That can definitely have an impact seeing as his ability hits survivors over pallets and vaults.
IF he gets his ability. So he has to choose between 3 hitting a survivor (does nobody see the issue here?) and not using his power.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2222197#Comment_2222197
If they waste that much time looking for zombies. That means they're not on gens and buys time for me to start my snowball. Nor will he be a worse plague. Plague can't break pallets. Plague has to go out of her way for her power. And survivors can deny plague harder then Nemesis. Once Nemesis powers up. That's it.
He's going to be money at higher ranks. Because his chase power is strong. And that's how you snowball. Get quick downs and make them feel pressured.
In all the matches i played against him, even when he had his power, i never felt pressured. Because you overvaluate his whip. It can be dodged fairly easy. You´ll see, once he goes live, he won´t be the monster killer you think he is.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2222171#Comment_2222171
It literally takes almost nothing to reach T1. Nor are the odds in the survivors favor. That all 4 people are going to find zombies before I find you
He´ll be a worse Plague. At least Plagues infection lowers survivors health. Just watch how survivors will search zombies actively and get infected on purpose.
Sure, he´ll be decent on lower ranks. But every killer is. Higher ranked survivors will stomp him.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2221978#Comment_2221978
People keep saying this. But leaving yourself vulnerable to his range attack at pallets and windows. Is important.
What range attack? If he doesn´t reach T1, then he won´t be able to hit survivors over pallets.
-
*grants survivors the ability to mori the killer.

Are the devs aware that if the new MMR isn´t ready for the RE dlc launch, that a lot of new players will have a terrible experience?
-
He´s a mid tier killer at best. His power can easily negated by decent survivors (getting bitten by zombies).
Since being infected has no negative effect for survivors, they will just stay infected during the whole game. Since he will stay on T1, he basically is a powerless m1 killer with 2 rng zombies that can or can not block small areas.
-
@nursewannabe said:
Remember when they first tried MMR how bad it was? People with a few hours in game getting matched against people with thousands of hours? That was easy to solve: public outcry on every social media and it was just disabled.
Now, the *same* people who came up with that MMR are developing a system that will automatically ban players. I don't need any explanation, I don't want any explanation or guarantee. I just don't want an autoban system. Because imagine having to write a ticket to the support because you were unjustly banned, waiting for either a copy/paste reply that *might* say you got unbanned. No thanks.
I can already see how their customer support collapses after the introduction of the auto ban system.

Gen speed isn´t the problem. The lack of additional objectives is a problem. Survivors can just spam gens, ignore everything else and escape.

but they only buffed killer and nerfed surv over the years (beside the mori change)
games like darksouls attrack people because of the difficulty and thats honestly the same with surv
since SWF actually only make up 5% of the survivor player base and thats stats you can actually proove with real reasoning
"also ive made a poll that showed there are more killers on dbd than there are survs" the last time i checked it was nearly 50% 50% considering the comments with and slight head start on killer about a year ago
things change remember that was a year ago before surv got even more difficult to play
One of the devs mentioned that survivor players make up around 80% of the player base on DBD aka the majority. We'd realistically need ~1 killer for every 3 survivors because survivors can re-queue the moment they are are out of the game but the killer has to stay until the very end
your not stronk at maths are ya? If out of 5 people one person is the killer how much killers are there in percentages?
5 = 100%
1 = 20%
4 = 80%
this means there might be even more killers but the stats aren't able to show based on how the game works
polls are not actual evidence there are too many factors that manipulate the outcome as i already explained
but yeah no the killer queues took around 20min in comparison to waiting 5 min max as surv so thats not true what you said
"I think it'd be much more likely that more killers would be on the forum to complain about a big survivor buff than survivors"
quite a negative view on things and contradicting to the part u said killers stopped playing and wouldnt that be even more so if there was a huge survivor buff? put that together with killers being buffed so they come back and survs getting nerfed all the time but you still nearly only see killers complaining and your answer would be a clear no you are wrong about nearly all you said.
I don´t know on what ranks you play, but red and purple killers have almost instant lobbies starting in the evening. While survivors of the same rank range have 5 to 10 minute queues while playing solo and up to 20 minutes while playing SWF.
The Dark Souls comparision doesn´t fit. Because Dark Souls is hard but fair. Unlike DbD.

Shout out to the folks keeping it positive and sharing that energy.
But for the others, why so angry/bitter? I'm genuinely curious, what's the foundation/origin of that negative attitude?
I agree with the OP. BE NICE. We have an opportunity to greatly increase the number of DbD fans, as players. Let's do our part.

That is how killer mains feeling. Ruin, Pop etc little helping but nothing stopping this gens. They are so fast.
Good survivors know game well and maps are survivorside. And they makes game stresfull for killers. I have to defend 2 gens because most of times 3 gens finishing so fast. And then people asking why there is not so much killer, why queques so long.
Imagine a killer would BM the camped and tunneled survivor after the match. Tell him how bad he was, that he should uninstall, or play tetris.
Something outrageous. The other survivors would complain what a terrible being the killer is, for BM the poor survivor. For ruining his fun...
But with the roles reversed, survivors BM the killer after he had a bad match and got maybe 3 or 4 hooks?
-
Imagine for a second, that you as survivor start the match, get downed, hooked and instantly enter the struggle phase and that the killer is ready to tunnel you off hook. Every single match.
Doesn't really sound appealing, does it?
That's exactly how killers feel when they lose 3 gens during the first chase.
Most killer mains switched to the relaxing role of survivor or play a different game, because it's simply not fun when survivors complete 60% of their objective while the killer just completed 8% of his.
