I agree with that, Killers needs buffs in 1v4, like you said more objectives or make all maps samller like coal tower size.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2291608#Comment_2291608
They should win 1v1 but not easily. if survivors experience dosen't help you except in hitting skill checks, then make killers play against bot, they will do shift+w just fine.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2291613#Comment_2291613
They are not as strong, but still good in 1v1. (even tho i think Victor is really really strong killer).
Twins are in the top 3 worst killers. But you think they are really really strong.
Out of curiosity, do you main them? Or do you just face them?

Tbf The extra points mainly come from BBQ tbh. Getting 4 WGLF stacks is much harder than 4 BBQ stacks
Didn't we have this discussion in a different thread?
As long as survivors can get 3 stacks in a single action, WGLF stacks are easier to get than BBQ stacks.

(Shift+W with Gen Rush) blame Devs for creating/buffing killers with no real counter in 1v1. How to loop Nurse on pallet? or Deathslinger? or Trickster? or Victor/Twins? They win 1v1 easily, also with how many dead zones now, what did you expect survivors to do? ofc i will shift+w until i die next to op tree.
This what happen when you remove real counters like looping pallets/windows to please the killers. cuz killers will NEVER be pleased.
Trickster and Twins in the same phrase as Nurse...
Wow...

I think if they would have chance, they would change game. Killers would be bots. Like L4D. 4 players vs AI.
Because they do not know how to balance game. Queues so long, so they do not wanna lose more killer. But also they do not wanna make survivors mad because survivors = more cosmetic = more money
Well they started with the bots, so now they just need to improve them. Maybe add a "rage" mode which triggers uppon flashlight clicking/teabagging and it would be perfect.

well maybe otz should stop doing 50 kill streaks with trapper. It gives false impressions that trapper is good. Trapper can't compete so you either accept to play weak killer or do not play trapper at all. Its like that for vast majority of the cast.
Killers will stop doing 50 kill streaks streams, once the new mmr goes live.
Literally every killer streamer struggled during the mmr tests.
-
Just do bones instead of rushing gens.
Also, why the "coming from a killer main"?
-
Thats actually a kinda long time. I´ve seen all gens getting completed in almost half the time. This just shows how desperate killers are to slowdown gens. Stacking 2 or more slowdown perks, and yet how useless it is.
Also noticed the points in the endscreen? 25k points when there were 3 heals and 1 unhook. Yet people complain that survivors earn less points than killers.
Honestly, playing killer doesn´t pay off points (and stress) wise. Just play survivor. Its clearly easier, more relaxing and more beneficial to play survivor. It also looks like its the role the devs want us to play.

Should there be more ways to get stacks? Sure! Getting someone up from the Dying state would be a great way to buff WGLF. But at the same time, devs should award a BBQ stack, when someone disconnects without getting hooked.Doesn't solve the problem of survivors having to be altruistic, which is pretty dependent on what situation the game puts you in. Of course, I'll take anything to make WGLF stacks more accessible, I'm not complaining, but this doesn't solve the core problem of survivors being forced into a playstyle that won't always present itself.
As for DCs canceling BBQ stacks, I definitely agree that DC'd survivors should automatically reward a BBQ stack. I'm totally on board with giving both sides equal opportunities to gain stacks.
I'm not advocating to throw the game.In fact, I'm advocating to be more altruistic when the game is almost over. I've had tons of matches where I was on the hook during endgame and no one came to unhook. My apologies, should've clarified better. I know you don't advocate for throwing games, but just pointing out that survivors can't always be altruistic. Trying to be altruistic when the situation doesn't call for it will likely, not always, throw the game. When you mentioned having a survivor unhook and take two protection hits after, this is very unrealistic and will throw the game. I'm not sure if you realize this or not; maybe you're talking about an edge case where you would do this in an actual game.
About survivors being more altruistic: If you're given the opportunity to be altruistic, like the one you prescribed, great — take your stacks! However, it will never be enough to gain all WGLF stacks unless you get a rare game where the situation always calls for you to be altruistic. Even if that's the case, the other survivors likely won't get any WGLF stacks since they probably didn't get any altruistic opportunities. Everyone should have an opportunity to get their stacks, not just whoever was altruistic in your team.
Meanwhile I guarantee you, that (unless NOED is active) I'll come and unhook you, even when the killer camps. Just because I give more value to BBQ stacks than to the 5k survival points.Essentially, you would be throwing the game for yourself only just to get WGLF stacks since a camping killer would just allow the trade and sacrifice you insisted. You shouldn't have to throw the game for yourself just to get stacks. Picture this, image if BBQ required the killer to damage 5 generators. The killer won't always get the opportunity to kick a generator, sometimes it's best to not kick it at all since you would be giving distance to the survivor. If you kicked a generator when the situation doesn't call for it, you would be giving survivors such an easy game. That's the comparison with how current WGLF is, survivors can't always be altruistic and doing so when you're not supposed to will give the killer an easy game. We have to give both sides something they are always supposed to do — survivor's would be doing generators and killer's would be hooks. Simple as that.
[The two situations you mentioned]Back to the beginning of my post, great — take your stacks! However, that alone won't be enough to get all WGLF stacks unless again, you're put in a game where the situation always calls for you to be altruistic. Actually, to save time... I'll just to a copy and paste:
About survivors being more altruistic: If you're given the opportunity to be altruistic, like the one you prescribed, great — take your stacks! However, it will never be enough to gain all WGLF stacks unless you get a rare game where the situation always calls for you to be altruistic. Even if that's the case, the other survivors likely won't get any WGLF stacks since they probably didn't get any altruistic opportunities. Everyone should have an opportunity to get their stacks, not just whoever was altruistic in your team.To point out, on the second story you told me:
Another match only 2 survivors left, 1 hooked, I'm on the gate. Went back for the rescue. Switched places, the other guy wasn't as altruistic as I. But I still got the WGLF stacks. You were altruistic when the situation didn't call for it and that got you sacrificed. Being altruistic won't always present itself in games and doing so will get either you or your teammates killed. This brings me back to my point were WGLF stacks are hard to obtain due to the fact you need to be altruistic and that always isn't possible unless you're willing to throw the game for either yourself and-or your teammates.
WGLF stacks have to be bound to altruism. If they would be bound to totems, then they would have to add more totems (and we both know, survivors are allergic to doing totems). If they would be bound to gens, then survivors would gen rush even more (no one wants that). So it has to be bound to altruistic actions.
It isn´t actually throwing the game. Escaping is nothing more than 5k basepoints + an item if you found one during a match. You won´t pip more, or get any other benefits for escaping.
Survivors can´t always be altruistic. Yet the matches either go like: everyone hook bombs or everyone stays where they are instead of going for the unhook. Currently there seems to be no in between. Thats why i think the point limit per category needs to be removed. That way, the people that want to go full altruistic can do that, and the people that want to be glued to gens, can also do that. Or as alternative, all the bonus bloodpoint perks/addons should give the points after the trial, instead of during the trial. Either way, people could get the much needed bonus points for their preferred action.
I´d wish more people were as altruistic as i am. Because getting left behind, when we could make an easy escape, just sucks.

I think WGLF should be reworked to the same as it is now + you and possibly the unhooked survivor sees the killers aura for x seconds, sorta like bbq. I know theres babysitter that does something similar but then i'd think wglf would be way more helpful to run.
You mean like Babysitter?
-
It's not like survivors can last second switch to surprise the killer with their items or anything...
-
As it was said above. None of the killers perks are so broken, that they deserve a nerf.
- NOED doesn't reward bad killers. It punishes lazy survivors.
- ruin regression is half the repair time of a single survivor (uhh so OP)
- Devour hope requires killers to get away from the hook to get stacks. I guess that's bad, when killers don't camp...
- BBQ gives killers an incentive to leave the hook. Again, bad I guess.
You complain about Bubba and Wraith mains. Because they camp. But want perks that reduce camping nerfed.
Please make up your mind.

The problem you're not seeing is that there's only 8 possible unhooks before survivors start dying, which is only enough for all survivors to get 2 stacks.
Now, here's the kicker:
- Unhooks aren't always divided evenly. Games are dynamic, meaning not all games will put you in situations where you're able to be altruistic.
Okay, fine, we can use protection hits to gain the last few stacks. However, taking random protection hits will practically throw the game. With that in mind, taking good protection hits requires you to be in the right place at the right time, pretty rare in other words. Therefore, you can't rely on protection hits either meaning in either case, survivors aren't going to max their WGLF unless they get insanely lucky or throw the game.
BBQ on the other hand is based purely on doing your objective, which you have a fair opportunity to do. If you can't hook survivors, then you need to start practicing with bots or online matches.
By the way Tsulan, not sure why you are being defensive over WGLF stacks. Having extra ways to gain WGLF stacks doesn't change gameplay in any way. If Escape Cakes are fine, then so are more accessible WGLF stacks to reduce the grind. Both sides should have equal opportunities to use their perk equivalent to reduce the grind. The fact that you're wanting survivors to throw the game, sacrificing your experience as well as screwing over your team, just to reduce the grind is very unfair on your end.
I just can't stand it, when people claim that BBQ stacks are easier to get than WGLF stacks. When it's the other way around.
Should there be more ways to get stacks? Sure! Getting someone up from the Dying state would be a great way to buff WGLF. But at the same time, devs should award a BBQ and WGLF stack, when someone disconnects without getting hooked.
I'm not advocating to throw the game.

Meanwhile I guarantee you, that (unless NOED is active) I'll come and unhook you, even when the killer camps. Just because I give more value to BBQ stacks than to the 5k survival points.
For example, a few days ago killer camped someone next to the hatch. Gates were powered. All 4 survivors alive. The 2 other survivors used a key to escape. I came back from the gate, unhooked the survivor and we both escaped through the gate.
Another match only 2 survivors left, 1 hooked, I'm on the gate. Went back for the rescue. Switched places, the other guy wasn't as altruistic as I. But I still got the WGLF stacks.

If a survivor disconnects thats 2 potential stacks gone too. DCs hurt survivors more because theyre unlikely to get any safe unhooks after one DC unless the killer is being extra kind. The killer would still get 3 easy stacks in this case.
The point is, that survivors still can get full stacks. Even when someone disconnects, while the killer won't get full stacks. Doesn't matter what he does.

If someone disconnects before their first hook, that means survivors are competing for a maximum of 4 unhooks. And if that person unhooked someone, then it's a maximum of 3 unhooks.
There are more ways to get WGLF stacks than unhooking. Full stacks are still possible. Especially when you can get 1 unhook and 2 protection hits = 3 stacks.

Not every game has a DC. The fact is you get BBQ stacks by literally playing killer normally and with WGLF you have to get out of your way to farm them.
The fact is, that you say BBQ stacks are easier to get than WGLF is simply false. Survivors can get 3 WGLF stacks in a single action. Killer requires 3 different chases, downs and hooks for that. Thats way more time consuming than unhooking someone and getting 2 protection hits,

Idk I don't really experience people killing themselves because they don't like the killer. It's mostly when the killer had an amazing start and there was no way for the survivors to come back. I generally don't like the idea of basing the statistics on one-off things like challenges or random DCs, it's more based on consistent things like the terrible matchmaking.
At least in 2 of 10 of my matches someone disconnects/suicides on the first hit/down.
-
@gendoss said:

That's probably a factor but I feel like most people don't literally kill themselves just for 1 challenge very often, at least I hope they don't.
People constantly DC/suicide because they don't like the killer. Why wouldn't they suicide once they completed their challenge?

Btw, the stats could be explained by the ridiculous rift challenges. Where people hook bomb or have to hide in the killers shadow for 80 seconds, etc.

That's not a good tactic at all, if you get hooked when the game is 'almost over', you run a way greater risk of getting killed since killers have a better idea of where everyone is or is going, and they're more likely to protect their hook.
If you die on that hook, you got the three stacks, sure, but you also miss out on 5000 x 1.75 = 8750 BP.
IMO, WGLF should also award stacks for picking someone up from the downed state, and additionally, some other perks should grant BP boosts as well for completing their targeted gameplay style. Like Detective's Hunch or Small Game awarding a BP boost for every totem you destroy, or Visionary awarding BP boosts for clearing gens.
By the end of the match I've usually maxed out 2 or 3 categories. That's 16k to 24k points. I prefer to die with max stacks than to escape without stacks. As you said, the escape points are just 5k.
All bonus point perks and addons should award the points after the match. What's the point of maxing out points faster with Proof Thyself, when you won't get any more points after 1 1/2 gen in coop?

DC barely ever happen, you could consider not playing spirit if you are having issues with it.
And I'm more than willing to not throw a game just to get and 2 more stacks, when the perk could easily be changed just to include healing into the mix or change its stack value and provide even more sources to gain from.
In other words, WGLF is inferior to BBQ point wise, due to being more difficult do get stacks with while just playing the game it was meant to be played.
That's it.
You need to go out of your way to get stacks on WGLF, that's the issue.
Ok, I'll consider playing Spirit less. Since I only touch her for dailies.
Now regarding the WGLF stacks. You just said that BBQ stacks are easier to get. Which is wrong. Doesn't matter that you have to sacrifice 1 hook stage for this. Because in the same way, I could argue that you'll have to sacrifice 2 or 3 gens to get that last BBQ stack from the runner of the team.
As I said in my first message. It would be great if they added rescuing someone from the Dying state to get stacks.
-
Depiping is the least of my problems, when someone disconnects.
What's worse is the less amount of points, because the hooking category can't be maxed and that it doesn't give BBQ stacks.

The good news is that no one plays HIM anymore.

Usually, whenever a new killer releases, survivors would see that killer 24/7 for 2 weeks.

I'm not interested in taking two additional protection hits and going down in case of no steptic.
WGLF stacks are harder to get than BBQ.
Most killer matches you end up with 4 stacks, survivor side is much harder to get them due to competition for stacks or, as I said before, going out of your way to actually trigger them, just as you said, basically farming the guy by unhooking in killers face just to get these 2 additional stacks.
That's on you then. Can't complain that WGLF stacks are harder, when you are not willing to sacrifice a hook stage for 75% more points.
Oh and good luck trying to get 4 BBQ stacks, when someone disconnects before you hook him.

The only way to get 3 stacks from a single unhook is by literally trading. Yeah, you got the stacks, but that's giving a hook stage for free which is bad for the entire team.
But it IS possible!
Great tactic, when the game is almost over and I've never been hooked. I'll gladly sacrifice that one stage for 75% more points.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.
I use WGLF in my base kit and you can get up to 3 stacks in a single unhook.
As to why no one uses it, they could buff it by giving stacks for getting someone up from downed state. Which would only be logical, since it helps healing downed survivors faster.

Its disheartening to see how easy those things are dismissed. Even now. Just a couple a months ago, we had a streamer post a video of a 2 1/2 minute gen rush. Was dismissed, because "not everyone plays like that".

What, and you think flashlights in their current state are a good idea? Why's it matter if a killer is blinded 0.25 seconds earlier than their pick-up animation ends? They're still blinded. It makes no sense not to force a drop.
Plus, any killer worth their salt faces a wall every time they pick up a survivor anyways, so blinding them is out of the question 90% of the time. And if a killer doesn't like being blinded, Lightborn and Franklin's Demise exist.
A survivor worth their salt, has no problem in timing it right.
Making the blinding window longer just repeates Howling Grounds event.
Which was a nightmare for killers.

No killer should have any more than 60% kill rate. Even if it is against rank 20s or rank 1s.
But what do you do when killers get matched against rank 20s that don´t know how to hit a skill check? There was a killer shortage before the RE chapter released. Even the devs admitted it on stream. Killers got tossed into a lobby with the survivors that have been waiting the longest. Didn´t matter what rank they were.
The Challenges also don´t help with the kill rates. As people play different to get their challenges done. Just watch how everyone hook bombs when a new chapter with altruistic challenges releases. Or where survivors need to stay in close proximity to the killer without getting chased.
-
@aroell said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2284649#Comment_2284649
That is true, but I do think the horrible matchmaking plays a big role in this. I have been matched up against yellow ranked killers while being rank 1 survivor and vice versa. So obviously if a average killer gets matched against rank 20 survivors they will 4K and pip.
As i said, it could be a black pip. Because the killer could kill to fast, not get enough chases, not enough hits (insta downs penalize the killer, picking someone up from a trap doesn´t count as hits, downing infected survivors as Plague doesn´t give full points, etc.)
The rainbow ranks also explain the high kill rates, btw. As the stats only take the killers rank into account.
-
@aroell said:

Well that is your experience. Many killers rank up too easily so it doesn’t mean that killers need to be buffed. The game is still too killer sided
Ranking up as killer is harder than ranking up as survivor. For example, the aimed balancing goal of 2 kills 2 escapes is a guaranteed black pip for killers on red ranks. Hell, the killer could even get a 4k and black pip on red ranks. Because the system isn´t designed for different killer powers.
-

Well you are probably playing against the worst killer if they have a hard time against 4 solos.
I don´t know if the others are solo, as the game won´t show me. So i can only speak for myself.
I could upload tons of screenshots where there is only 1 gen left/gates are powered and the killer had 4 hooks.
With the survivor hook counter its easier than ever to proof how many hooks the killer got.

Not really. Killers tunnel and camp all the time if they get the opportunity. Some do it with 5 Gens and their Totem(s) still up.
Blaming the Undying-Nerf for that is a weak argument (if I even want to call it that way, "a lie" would be more suitable).
Look for yourself. Search the forum for camping and tunneling threads. Those spiked after the Undying Nerf.
