Yeah that is true but my point is it needs to be something else because killers having ability to open doors anytime they want would breai whole concept of survivors being stuck in lobby with no power until all gens are done maybe something else would fit more
Like what for example? But i think we should continue this in another thread. As its about angry survivors.

You think it will take thhem THAT long to fix the frame drops? I hope not...
You never know.
I hope it gets fixed within a few days. But i prepare for a couple of months. Simply because the game has a Spaguetti code. Totally unrelated things break, whenever they fix something.

I mean that's good idea but kinda off mechanic bec technically there's no power until gens are repaired, I mean killer still can go afk and go do something else while it's done but dc is definitely not an option I don't even think quitting should be a thing it's okay to lose sometimes nobody of us is the highest pro player we can see it coming once in a while that we will lose and that's fine just finish the match there'd numerous of time I got 2k in like endgame while I was getting gen rushed so yeah just end the match and who knows maybe tables will turn but even if lose 4 escapes there's still hundreds of match I got 4 kills so I'm okay with it but I understand why some ppl want to quit
Survivors can suicide on hook, when they don´t want to continue. I think it would be only fair, if there was a similar solution for killers.

did you even read what i just said ? i'm not talking about random crashes , people are doing it on purpose cause there are no any penalty .....
playing on PC and a Laptop never experienced any crash btw
In the last days i crashed as often as i crashed in the last few years combined.
The build is unstable. People crash. Devs wouldn´t deactivate the dc penalty, if the problem wasn´t severe.

I mean it wasn't technically my case but one of streamers basically killer dc second after he heard 2 gens poppin in same time while he got his first down okay I understand it can be frustrated sometime for both sides but I would finish match either killer or survivors I don't remember I dc'd 2 times in almost two years playing without counting crashes or if I had situation irl to deal with
I think this game needs a concede button or better said, the ability to open the gates as killer, even when not all gens are completed. That way killers wouldn´t have to dc when they have a bad match.

As per title, are you guys considering extending the current tome, since there are these glaring issues that make playing the game so painful? I mean, it would only be right to at least extend it by a time equal to that it takes you to fix the issue. And I think the other players would agree with me.
While it would be nice, i doubt they can extend the rift by 3 months...

Yeah I know it can but this wasn't dc crash this was rage quit if u bother to watch it urself u'll see it's not possible all 4 got crash just when it became stressful for them
Just had a match against Billy. DC after 1 hook and 0 gens done. But sure, it could also be a rage quit in your case.

Everyone can crash now. Even i got 2 crashes since the chapter released.

A bad player will get better in time, yes. But as a game designer, you can accelerate that process. With customized practice maps where you can check the maps and the loops (the new training mode vs IA is a good step).
And at some point I agree with you that you have to balance the game according to the better performance players.....but... game should give players the tools to have good performances. If SWF is the top level of play for survivors, solo Q experience must approach to that level. Give them propper tool communication so they can improve their games and play coordinately.
Nowadays is impossible to balance the game due to this enormous gap between these 2 modalities.
The tutorial and the bot matches are a good step in the right direction. The game should be more accessible for newer players by softening the learning curve and the grind.
One way to bring solos on the same level as SWF would be ingame voice chat or a ping system/chat wheel like other games have. (being the ingame voice chat the more efficient one) Once something like that is introduced, the game could be balanced around SWF.

Yes, but this game is no competitive. It hasn´t even official rules. Most torunaments create their rules to get a balanced experience. In many of them you can´t repeat killers (if not, we´d only see spirits, nurses and blights). In many tournaments, tunneling and camping is not allowed either till EGC.
I only play Solo Q. How can i get compared to a premade when i can´t even point on a minimap to report a hex totem or communicate by commands: " Claudette, come to rescue"; " killer camping", etc.
It´s like DBD is 3 different games in 1: high performance premades, casual SWF and Solo Q.
My point is, when the devs buff the solo q giving them communication tools, these single players will start to coordinate and approach their level of performance to the SWF.
And is at that point where devs could really balance the game. Because a Clown or a GF probably can´t deal a good premade, but can take 4k on solo q game with no problem.
It doesn´t has to be competitive to balance the game correctly.
A bad player will get better in time.
A good player won´t get better, when the game is balanced around bad players. The skill ceiling simply won´t allow it.

Yeah they could but they weren't first dc'd after 2 gens were done while killer was chasing Nea and rage quit others were pretty much same the point is both sides are equally entitled and I will never understood this one side bias there's no killer mains and surv mains here there's people and depending on their personality is how they will act those ppl doesn't represent neither role they are just sad ppl with no life
What you describe could still be a random crash. I´ve seen survivors dc when someone else was hit, downed or hooked.
-
@justbecause said:
Survs? Sweetie probzz yesterday had 4 dcs in row from killers rage quitting it's not just survs it's both sides equally
The DCs could be simply the unstable version we have right now.

U can´t balance a non competitive game according to the highest skill players like Oracle.
If they´d do that, only Oracle would be able to win a 50% of the times.
Imagine the stats for SWF and solo q . 0% and - 40% win rate.
Of course the devs have to balance the game according to the majority of the players to create a "balanced experience" (50 % WR).
Its a pvp game. Imagine LoL, R6 or CS would get balanced around Bronze players.

Lol. I am not even suprised. Just so normal behavor of many survivors.
Its sad when people make false claims and constanly accuse the killer of doing this or that. At the end, killers will just say ######### it and play as bad as everyone claims.
-
Based on a stream we had over a year ago, where they showed the amount of downloads and matches played, it looked like most people downloaded it, played 1 or 2 matches and then uninstalled it.
-
I guess thats why they disabled the penalty. People constantly crash.
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
Classic. I was playing Freddy yesterday, never tunneld anyone, hooking everyone as much as I can (which is bad strategy for a effective killer, you want to focus on 1-2 survivors and keep hooking them and then deal with the rest). They reached the end game, I hooked a Claudet and just move to find around exit gates someone else, found Jill and she suddenly rush it to that Claudet, so I want to down the Jill but Claudet gets in the way (no borrow time from Jill, awesome) and I down her without purpose to chase her. Down both of them, hook both of them.
Quess what... She got super salty (Claudet) on ME! Not at all at that Jill who unhook her without BT in front of my face and on top of that all run into me... Like #########? xD
Even if you play the most nicely way, there will ALWAYS be someone who don't like something about you no metter if you are the most nice and fair killer on the planet.
Played Legion. Got -rep tunneling killer message from a streamer on my profile. When asked where exactly i tunneled, i got blocked.
-
Its the rank. Those players are simply new (probably came in for the RE chapter).
-
Since this will be a long list, i might add a TL/DR later on.
List of Killers that take no skill:
- AFK Wraith
End of List.
-
Because you're the chosen one.
-
Devs only listen to their stats and ignore everything else.

Where is the data that shows that the game is balanced around low rank solo survivors? I often hear this so I am genuinely intrigued.
The game isn't balanced around low rank solo survivors, because if it was playing killer would be a lot harder than it is now.
Killers don't need to be balanced around SWF because they already do well against SWF.
Old dev stats showed that only a small percentage of our matches are played with full 4 man SWF.
Devs said they balance around the majority of the playerbase.
Devs also said that the majority of our players are low ranks. (One of the reasons old ruin was nerfed, was because it was apparently to frustrating for new players)
So by elimination, devs balance around low skill, low rank, solo survivors.
-
People wouldn't complain about SWF, if the game was balanced around it.
Instead of being balanced around low rank solo survivors.

Yep. Even last year, they reduced the number of Cakes mid-event, I guess when they fixed them. IMO there should really be two cakes per Bloodweb at default and then 1 Event Item for Survivors and an extra cake for Killers.
But they are not that generous with those anymore, sadly.
With the amount of content we have, it wouldn't hurt them being a little more generous.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2299418#Comment_2299418
The Cakes are actually better than Tripple BP-Events, usually people burn them during this time to get even more Cakes. So having 3+ Cakes burned should not be a rare occasion at all.
However, there are way too less cakes IMO. Like, the Bloodwebs should have at least 2 Cakes per Bloodweb as default. For Killer it will probably be like this, usually they get 1-3 Cakes per Bloodweb. Survivors on the other hand had like 1 Cake every 2 or 3 Bloodwebs last year, because they also got other Event Stuff. Now with Event Toolboxes as well, probably even less Cakes for Survivors, which will lower the overall BP-gain.
Killers will probably get the same amount as last year, since they will only have Cakes in their Bloodwebs.
Noticed how they reduced the amount of event stuff in the bloodweb during the last "event"? I had between 0 and 2 event things per bloodweb.
When years ago, we could get like 6.
-
We probably get some kind of offering in the bloodweb, that costs 3k points and awards 5k bonus points.
Instead for what the community has been asking for ages: Tripple BP Event!
Which would be the best thing for all the new players, that started out and don´t really see any progress, because of the few bloodpoints they earn.

And the "best" thing is - because some people cannot hold their fingers still, the Devs will spend more time on fixing this Bug so that we can have the whole nonsense-discussion in a few weeks again. :)
Instead of just accepting that it is a Bug and not trying to find ways to break the Cosmetics over and over again...
This is one of those occasions, where i agree with you.

Seems survivors don't want the killers to have a chance.
They complain about the 3 deadly sins of tunneling, camping and slugging, but they don't want gen times higher because holding m1 is boring, but also killers that are oppressive in chase such as spirit need to be nerfed.
One of these things needs to change.
As long as survivors do exactly the same thing (camp and "tunnel" gens) you don´t have to feel bad about them. Because they certainly won´t feel bad for the killer.
-
@Steah said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2298347#Comment_2298347
I mean I've been playing for a while now and understand the concepts. But with all the complaints I see about tunneling, camping and slugging. I've been experimenting some matches by trying to rotate hooks without anyone of the grave sins just mentioned. Hell if the survivors are being somewhat efficient on gens, I have found that I simply don't have time even if all they do is hold w and run straight. That's why I want to see what people think the sweet spot is for a chase. Because I have a feeling that what most people consider to a reasonable time for a chase is actually wayyyy to long for the killer if the other survivors are actually doing gens.
Doesn´t matter how fast you are.
Mathematically, you won´t be able to do a nice, fair, 12 hook match without tunneling, against good survivors.
You can do it against mediocre survivors. That take time to heal and are not constantly glued to gens. But you won´t be able to pull this off against good survivors. Even streamers struggle with 3 or 4 hooks by the time the gates are powered, when they are bound to the so called survivor rules.
Best you can do is ignore those rules and play as you wish.
-
@Steah said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2298292#Comment_2298292
There's a price to be paid when dropping chase with no hit or pallets. Especially because find and chase another survivor is easier said than done.
I just want to see what should be the expected chase time when a survivor and killer are equal skill. Considering the extra time it takes to track and hook survivors, even taking 20 seconds for a hit seems like its too nich time. If it's 20 seconds per hit on a survivor and it takes 20 seconds to walk over and find someone. As well as 5 seconds to hook. That is 3 gens done if all 3 survivors spawn on separate gens.
It highly depends on a lot of factors:
- Survivors completed all gens at the other end of the map, leaving you a area with 3 or 4 gens very close to each other and a survivor running there? Chase him, even if it takes minutes. But don´t forget to keep an eye for the gens that are nearby.
- You play Trapper and placed all your traps in that area? Go chase, as the survivor will step into a trap (or another one who just is cocky)
- You play Doctor, have full stacks of lullaby and the totem is well hidden? Go chase, because there won´t be many gens that get done during that time.
- You identified the survivor you are chasing as the weak link? Finish him!
- Survivor is trying to get your attention by flashlight clicking? Especially when you are chasing the weak link? Ignore him!
There are many more factors to keep in mind, you´ll learn them in time.
-
@Steah said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2298262#Comment_2298262
You can always try and do that. But it isn't always an option to drop chase to go looking for a survivor. You can have a rough guess where survivors are a lot of the time bit of you guess wrong you lose.
Some areas are safe zones. If you chase a good runner there, then you´ll lose the game. So its better to drop the chase.
Sometimes all the injured survivors go to that area, because they know you will break the chase. So that will turn into a slow and boring game. Now you decide if you want to keep it that way and maybe win, or if you want to go for that down and lose the gens that are left.
-
Between 1 and 2 gens. 3 gens is kinda a survivor victory.

My best friend is gay. So i can understand why you feel attacked. But you shouldn´t. Again, this isn´t a war. This is a game forum where we should discuss game related things, not politics.
And this is where you've already said something wrong because LGBT+ people existing isn't political.
I think (correct me if i´m wrong) the whole pride thing is about inclusion. Not exclusion. So attacking the people that want you no harm, will lead nowhere.
Pride is about being inclusive and fighting for the rights of LGBT+ people internationally, bettering their lives and ensuring equality, with the second aspect being more important than the first considering the first Pride was literally a riot in the UK against police. So, if an LGBT+ person tells you maybe don't say something, because it helps to continue the prejudice against them, maybe listen. Particularly if multiple people do so.
It's perfectly fine to intend no harm, but then to continue doubling down on something after you're told it's not great to say it is where the issue lies. It shows that you're not willing to change how you act, even if it's either explicitly or implicitly contributing to the continued discrimination and stereotypes today. That's where the issue is.
And don´t worry, i won´t call you son again.
Thank you, I appreciate it. It's okay in a joking context but in serious things- like this- please refrain.
I´m terrible at linking things, but with "this isn´t the place for politics" i was referring to your comment on page 3. Where you said something about "show me a country where, etc."
You see, protesting is good. Its actually great to protest peacefully or starting a discussion where everyone can express his opinion and everyone feels like their voice and opinion is heard.
Riots on the other hand aren´t exactly great, as they hurt mainly innocent people.
Change should be achieved by dialogue. Not by force. Because violence only leads to more violence.
With that being said, i´m not going to respond anymore to this thread, as i have a feeling that this is a already heated discussion. Which could escalated to quickly.
Take care

Hey can you, like, stop calling me son by now it's getting weird.
This isn´t a war of LGBT against straight people. Everyone should feel integrated. No one should feel excluded.
Again amazing argument in a vaccum. Stick it in the context of real life and it falls apart faster than swiss cheese vs a machine gun.
I´m sorry you feel like this. It wasn´t my intention to make this weird.
Maybe you should step back, take a deep breath and think about all this.
No one attacked you and you shouldn´t take this personally.
My best friend is gay. So i can understand why you feel attacked. But you shouldn´t. Again, this isn´t a war. This is a game forum where we should discuss game related things, not politics.
The into the Rainbow stream, for example was great. Sure, the mods had to do extra shifts to keep the chat in order. But a lot of people donated money. A lot of people watched it and it was a great show. I think (correct me if i´m wrong) the whole pride thing is about inclusion. Not exclusion. So attacking the people that want you no harm, will lead nowhere.
And don´t worry, i won´t call you son again.
