I mean, nothing new. It is known that those tournament squads can only be beaten by a really good Spirit or Nurse. So its not something groundbreaking.
DBD will never be balanced around those teams and it should never be balanced around those teams. You cannot balance for Top 1%-Players and ignore 99% of the playerbase. If we start to balance around Top Level-Survivors and Top-Killer players, most of the people in this game will have a miserable experience.
And it is a casual game, after all. Umbra once talked about it in her Stream and she is surely one of the best Killers in this game. And she also was not really into the idea to balance around the Top Level (apparently the same was done with Deathgarden, which lead to the game dying, but I cannot confirm it myself since I did not play it).
However, quite "interesting" that tru3 did such an experiment, but he did not do the 1v1s, because the game is a 1v4. While playing against Oracle is a 1v4, it is as far away from Public Matches as 1v1s against Spirit is. And tru3 did not want to test something here, he did not want to test if Wraith can compete against those teams - tru3 is not stupid at all, he knew from the start it will not be possible.
But I think he wants to give his opinion with that, but dont want to show that Spirit is indeed problematic, which is the reason he refuses to do 1v1s.
Overall, the experiment is mildly interesting. It does not show anything new and it certainly should not be a factor to take into consideration when balancing this game.
Not necessarily. Camping and Tunneling wasn´t an issue during the short time Undying Ruin was meta. Survivors complained more about having to do totems then getting tunneled or camped.
When killers don´t feel pressured by the gen speed, then they are more likely to go for a 12 hook game.

So you are basically asking for a 4K before any gens have been repaired? You might get games with efficient survivors. It is what it is. Tunneling and camping is a known toxic strategy people use to ruin others experience. If it is miserable then don’t do it.
Why do you assume that i do it? What i´m talking about is my experience as solo survivor on red ranks.

This game is NOT survivor sided, please stop being so blind and face the issue. Solo survivors are suffering everyday against campers, tunnelers, stridor spirits and nurses and on top of all that, a million gen regression perks. The survivor queue is only long at night, when most people are asleep and that is understandable. If you make this game any more killer sided all survivors will leave, because right now we are getting ######### on.
19:00 is when most people sleep?
Killers stacking gen slowdown perks is a sign of how killers struggle against insane gen times. Even with them, 2 or 3 gens get repaired by the time the killer gets his first hook. 3 or 4 hooks by the time all gens are completed isn´t healthy for the game. Killers camp and tunnel, because they are told to jUsT aPpLy PrEsSuRe and thats what they do by getting someout out early. Creating a miserable experience for everyone.
PvP games should never be balanced around new players. They should be accessible with tutorials for them. But the balancing needs to be done around high skill players.
Or have you ever seen CS, R6 or LoL getting balanced around Bronze ranks?

You do realize that if they balance the game around comp casual players will have no chance, right? Everyone would leave this game instantly and you will have a more killer sided game than it already is.
Do you realize that balancing this game about players with less than 10 hours causes veterans to leave, because they have no chance?
Because the game is survivor sided af. Before the RE chapter released, survivors already had a 10 minute queue during prime time. Do you want even longer queues? Because the queues WILL cause players to leave.

All i see is: please use this build!

Cant we also reverse it then and say competitive swf are the only teams that can win against a good spirit or Nurse?
No, because being a good nurse or spirit isn´t a guaranteed win against competitive swf. They just stand a better chance.

Sounds like a perfect time for 20% of the player base to discover other games. I'll probably be one of them. Wouldn't be the first time I've taken an extended break from DBD.
Already prepared some games. Just in case.

@AlexisFox said:
The steam name is in Chinese and they are super laggy. Pretty sure it's a VPN from China and to fix the issue they just need to correct the hit detection to a proper server side hit detection that doesn't favor the killer. When they do that a laggy killer will be penalized instead of the survivor who has a good connection to the server and if the survivor is laggy then they'll be penalized instead of a killer with a good connection. The point is to stop favoring the killer regardless of how bad their latency is. Hit detection should not be one sided. That's what dedicated servers are for. As it is with hit detection always favoring killers point of view all they've done is add a middleman between the survivors and killer that masks the killer's latency so we can't tell that we are connected to a laggy killer like we used to be able to do with peer to peer connections.
Hit detection is server sided. Did you check your ping during the match? Because the servers are at their limit since the RE chapter was released. Seen all players with a 200+ ping.

Never said he was in the same league as Nurse. My point is that if you can easily hit survivors in 95% of loops, that shouldn’t come without a cost.
But he can´t hit survivors easily at loops. Huntress literally has it easier than him during loops. Because his whip hitbox is so small.
-
@WexlerWendigo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2281036#Comment_2281036
That’s like saying Nurse’s blinks are hard to hit. When you have a power that negates many loops in the game, there should be some skill required to use it effectively.
So just to sum it up: he needs 3 hits, has a high skill ceiling, has no mobility, but is comparable to nurse now?
Wow...
-
@WexlerWendigo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2281020#Comment_2281020
Completely wrong. Nemesis can get two hits with his power extremely easily, he makes most of the loops in the game unsafe, and that shouldn’t come without a drawback.
Yep, he gets 2 hits and that survivor still isn´t downed.
The hitbox of his whip is to small. He can easily miss even close survivors. Its always worrying when survivors think a killer is in a great spot.
-

Trapper gives up 3 gens setting up his power, to say he’s on the same level as Nemesis is a hilariously bad take. Why are you not taking enough time to learn how to play him?
Same could be said about Nemesis, since he needs 3 hits to down a survivor.
But Trapper has a least his traps and can lock down windows/pallets.

Read what i said again.
The reports can spike all they want.
A system like this filters out false reports. That's the whole point behind it.
False reports won't be looked into again cause they won't have to manually check anymore if a report is fake or not.
The only reason this discusion is even a thing is cause they chose a poor name for the system
Correct. A working autoban system would work like this and filter the reports.
But remember, the new map got disabled 2 hours after its release. So i wouldn´t be to optimistic, that the autoban system works as intended. At least not when it starts.

I'm going to say this again if you don't know what insta-down killers are, if survivor's losing one health state by killer's power and next time they get slapped by the killer they get downed that doesn't turn then into insta-down killer. By your logic if survivor don't heal after getting stabbed by legion feral frenzy this makes him an insta-down killer which in reality he isn't. Getting broken status effect means you can't get healed to second health state while killer with insta-down powers take 2 health states. Plague itself after infecting a survivor need to down him and her corrupt purge only takes 1 health state when used on the healthy survivor. SHE ISN'T A INSTA-DOWN KILLER IF SHE CAN'T INSTANTLY DOWN A SURVIVOR WITH HER POWER when you realize that?
Oh i fully understand her power. She infects survivors or objects, survivors get sick and have the broken status effect until they cleanse themself at a fountain.
BUT high rank survivors usually don´t cleanse themselves until all gens are completed. Meaning that during most part of the match, they can be downed with 1 hit. Be if a m1 attack or her puke.
Yet, this doesn´t stop survivors. Do you really think, that Nemesis who needs 3 hits to down a survivor is stronger than this?
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2280506#Comment_2280506
And how is that worse then the current system where they have to check every report manually.
The whole point is to make it go smoother. It's so all those false reports don't waste time anymore.
Probably things like when it sees the words tunneling, camping, teabagging it will just ignore the report.
This system wil make that less likely to happen that an overworked employee just hits the ban button
If you think people send in a lot of false reports now, then just wait until the autoban system goes live. The reports will spike.

Oh boy, where do I need to start it... 1 Plague isn't an instant down killer, the insta-down killers are those that can instantly put you from a healthy state to a downed state aka chainsaw boys, oni, Myer's tier 3, Ghostface mark (I'm not going to mention other killers who's got iri addons to insta-down for the sake of saving time) by your logic Legion is also insta-down killer since his power grant you free hit on a survivor. About cleansing, I disagree with that as well, why you should be keeping yourself in broken status effect when you can cleanse from a pool that is far away and plague won't be interested coming from point A to point B just to get her power, if there are other pools available you just never cleanse in the middle or where's gen being worked on unless you can force her to get the power and other pools available back again.
Nemesis and plague infection work similarly the only difference that it don't put you into broken status. Basically iron will counter and with nemesis vaccines are limited while pools are not.
And as long as survivors stay infected (plague) and don´t drink from the Fountain they get instantly downed...
But this doesn´t stop survivors from pushing gens.

At least with plague, you got an infinite amount of fountains that heal you and you can force her to use corrupt purge early while with nemesis vaccine are limited, you can get interrupted by zombies or nemesis himself since you have to search it first, then inject it. Pyramid Head takes skill since he is actually hard to master but much easier than nurse oh and you can't turn around with P-head M2 while nemesis can. I wouldn't care about his oppressive part of the kit if it wasn't for the detection part of his kit since it takes less effort for him to find you once you got infected or if you got spotted by a zombie and he can see that as well. My feeling is that he is similar to deathslinger, both have a small range attack, both have a small wind-up time compared to other killers that have somewhat range attack and both don't have any kind of limitation bar or need to reload in a locker when comparing to other killers. The only difference is that deathslinger is 4.4 movement speed killer and requires M&A/STBFL to get the full potential of his power while nemesis have both range attack and detection in his kit. At least that's is my opinion for now.
With plague, survivors are exposed all the time. Meta is to not heal until the last gen is completed. Meanwhile she is a insta down killer.
Getting infected from Nemesis has no downsides. But the benefit of needing 3 hits to get downed.
Btw, exposed status effects don't apply to his tentacle. Which makes him even weaker.
-
Yep! At this point I've received reports for pretty much everything you can do in the game.
Last report was for playing Yui and trying to get her achievement in solo queue.

"We are going to take action" not the machine or the system is going to take action.
I do agree that calling it auto-ban feature was a poor choice of words
Honestly also common sense. I know we like to point at the devs from time to time but they are not stupid. They also know that if a machine banned people for false reports it would kill the game
Problem with this system is, that a report might end up at the desk of a overworked employee who just wants to end the shift and doesn't really check the account. But instead just hits the ban button and next.
-
When survivors say that a killer is balanced and fun to play against, instead of complaining that he needs a nerf, then that's a huge warning sign!
Just look at Wraith: he got some small buffs and the forum instantly filled with nerf threads.
Killers that released where survivors found them in a good spot and fun to go against: Clown and Trickster. It's not like there is a pattern or something...

Play a match of solo survivor and you will realize just how formidable and overpowered the killer is. Survivors stand no chance against killers running a multitude of regression perks that allow them to exert map pressure effortlessly. Many killers have powers that make pallets and windows worthless, broken add-ons that amplify their powers by astronomical proportions.
When the killer has such a ridiculous advantage, why should they still be allowed to exploit camping/tunneling/slugging? The killer makes the game incredibly difficult for survivors as is, they should not be able to prevent us from playing the game even more. Camping/tunneling/slugging are unfair tactics, very unsportsmanlike and worthy of punishment.
"But he's just doing his objective".
At least that's what killers get told, when survivors rush gens. Completing all gens by the time the killer got 3 or 4 hooks.
Killers have to resort to slugging, camping and tunneling. Because whenever they don't do that, survivors get a 4 man escape, spam "gg ez", and recommend the killer to "just apply pressure". Without thinking at the consequences, that getting someone out early, creates pressure.
So killers are actually doing exactly what survivors recommend.

Just because that's what they were doing doesn't mean he's not strong. He breaks pallets fast and can down you through them. He's fairly strong. Now I'll say they need to remove sprint burst from getting infected.
*he can down you through pallets WHEN he manages to get to tier 2. He´s mid tier at best.
Pizzahead is stronger. Do you consider Pizzahead OP?
-
@RobynxGrayves said:
Way too over powered. Not fair that he can break a pallet and hit you at the same time. Literally no way to escape him in a chase. Starting to feel very overly killer favoured. Getting tired of these killers who don't even have weaknesses to work against.
That explains why most Nemesis players i´ve seen today only used M1 to hit and down survivors...
Oh wait... that means they didn´t use his OP power... there must be a reason for it...

Yes, I agree - would be great if you can practice a new killer (other than trapper) against some bots before playing them online, or test out any perks - if people complain because they/we had to learn new killers/perks on the fly during online matches, then put a cap on the amount of bot matches that you can play with a killer to learn their abilities, like only 2 or 3 bot matches. It would help everyone struggling with Nemesis as well and that would mean they don't "have to" face camp survs out of the game because they are desperate for kills because they are struggling to learn a new killer (lol, I'm clearly still a bit salty about yesterday when it happened to me the whole time I played - I just don't understand face camping, takes 0 skill and you don't get any better at your killer by doing it, it just sucks for the survivor). So I believe that would help everyone :)
Yes, now that we have bots, it shouldn´t be a problem to set up a match like in Kill your Friends. But for 1 player only.

Thats annoying!

You also won´t receive the full 200k bloodpoints. I did the 4 tutorials and after completing them in a row, i had 179k bloodpoints. Can´t remember how much i had before, but definetly not 0.

I honestly expect 20% of the playerbase to receive a (temp?) ban once the autoban system goes live.

I know, exposed only applies on basic attacks. But then don´t give the notification to survivors...
