Are they the power role?
The killer has the power to just ruin the game for 1 survivor by camping or tunnelling them out the game.
Coordinated survivors can delay the inevitable but if the killer wants one survivor out the game it’s pretty much guaranteed and there’s not much you can do about it. Survivors have no where near that much power.
Survivors can ruin the game for 1 killer by gen rushing. They sure as hell are the power role. Everyone who plays both sides on high ranks knows that.

You don't have to do much on killer. The way I go about it is:
- Locate crown (nothing else exists or matters until I find it)
- Pick up crown (duh)
- Play more or less randomly until all the survivors are gone (in one way or another)
Took me 3 matches to get the crown on Legion.
- despawned several times before my eyes
- game crashed

You're not getting a stack, but they would have had to leave so early into the match that you're guaranteed a victory with no sort of gen rush possible with only three survivors.
That isn't true in the slightest. I play on red ranks where half the matches are slow and easy to deal with as they're potatoes.
As a killer I'm getting twice as much as you after the game with Barbeque whereas WGLF isn't worth running in most circumstances as getting four stacks won't always happen.
Honestly, you make killer sound so rough, but it's not at all. I recommend anyone to give it a try, it's not so bad and you get far more rewarded if you lack a group to play with.
Good survivors still can pull off an escape. Even when 1 disconnected. It won´t happen always, but it still is possible.
What you say isn´t true in the slightest. Most of my solo survivor matches have 4 gens completed by the time the killer got 3 or 4 hooks. I can even prove it, with the hook counter.
Survivors can equip WGLF and as i said, i earn as much, if not more points than the killer. Double bloodpoints not being worth it... suuuuure!
You make survivor sound rough. When its estabished, that survivors are the power role.

My very first game as Huntress: two people randomly disconnected during the first 15 seconds. I didn't even meet them. I downed a Survivor: they disconnected.
OK. I found the fourth and gave them the hatch. What an impressive first game.
New DC tech for being sure not to be sacrificed? 🤔
(And I was only running BBQ. Survivors, think about the stacks! I think about your WGLF stacks by hooking.)
Yes, people disconnect left and right because there is no penalty. Even though, i think some could be random crashes. The game was REALLY unstable since the event started.

I'm just doing it for the crowns.
This year i´m not caring that much about the crowns as last year. I mean, i sweated last year to get the crowns on every killer + all the original survivors. But then i realized, that i never equipped the crowns. So why bother this year?

As if a DC remotely would bother the killer, it only makes the game easier beyond extremely niche conditions. Not to mention you're giving a reason that fuels their argument, not yours.
Gen rushing is a rarity as most games have a solo or two in them at the very least. A great SWF can still be beaten by camping them out since they'll camp the hooks with you in most cases.
I get twice or triple as many blood points on killer and generally have a far more enjoyable time doing it compared to solo queue.
Killer won´t get full stacks or full hook points when someone DCs.
Gen rushing happens like during every single red rank match.
I usually get the same amount or more points than the killer as red rank solo survivor. Survivor is far easier and not as sweaty as killer (at least on red ranks).

Survivors have more to lose by extending a match. 5,000 points for escaping + cakes is a lot to consider.
So escaping with 11k basepoints is great?

Maybe her 2 trap add ons that are inflating her kill rate
*we heard you!
- reduced max amount of traps to 2.
- increased trap timer by 600 seconds.
-
Well you could always play killer instead:
Gen rush, DC, DC, gen rush, gen rush, death threats, gen rush, ...
-
Coldwind against Nurse. Everyone was downed in 2 or 3 blinks. While I managed to lose her 3 or 4 times instead of getting instantly downed. Of course, no one does gens while i keep the Nurse busy.
2 survivors left, she slugs, i get the other survivor up twice before she downs me.
*endgamechat:
"Dude, you have 2,5k hours. Why are you playing so bad? You should uninstall, you no lifer"
-
If it makes you feel any better...
Survivors behave exactly the same by gen rushing out, instead of getting as much points as possible.

I remember last year getting a ton per blood web and that was when I first started playing this game so had no levels or presteiges. Wonder why its different.
Last year had the exact same drop rate as this year.

I can’t believe behavior is somehow being greedy with even just digital event currency.
Its just sad. Thats why i´m not surprised when there are only 2 or 3 cakes during a match. Because people simply didn´t get them from the web.
A double bloodpoint event (or 5 times bloodpoint event, for the sake of the 5th anniversary) would have been much more impactful and greater for the community. Instead we get to spend 50k bloodpoints on a web, in the hope to get 1 cake.
-
This is how event offerings used to look like. Up to 6 per bloodweb.
-
@JoByDaylight said:
Played with my buddy last night. In the same amount of blood points used he got 20 cakes and I got 5. Same survivor, same prestige. Lmao.
Exactly! Event items/offerings are NOT affected by the prestige level.
So sometimes you get just bad RNG.

Ruin / Tinkerer / Undying were absolute op back then.
Im a Small game user. I have no problems at doing totems, If Undying works like this "do all totems before doing Gen", Im fine with it. But old Undying leave no option to even do totem safely.
See? A killer who goes for the almost completed gens isn´t tunneling and he isn´t camping.

Yeah thats probably it. Between items and prestige youre pribably getting less chances for it to pop up
No, it's not that.
The spawn rates are simply abysmally low.
-
Have you considered bringing a key?
Or did survivors already spend all their keys?

yeah like if 3 gens go off when I only have 1 hook then I'm just camping because what's the point.
How am I suppose to pressure gens now?
There's no other way.
I even open the gate for the gen rushers. No point in sticking around more than necessary.
You want a fast match during an event? Enjoy minimum base bloodpoints!

This guy hasn't levelled Nurse throughout that entire time.
Meaning it's still the same bloodweb from back then.
Like how some people still have Bloodwebs that were how it looked before they reworked bloodwebs to be less grindier (Yes, BHVR actually used to do something about the grind. Wish they did that now)
You got it 👍️

this is the problem. 1 per bloodweb is bs. there were a lot more prev year, like 3-4-5 every bloodweb. I've spent like 600k and got 6-7 cakes it's dumb
Last year was between 0 and 2 event things (divided in flashlights, medkits and cakes) per bloodweb. I remember this, because i complained about it. Since older events had up to 6 event things per bloodweb.
-
This is how event bloodwebs used to look like:
Now we get like 1 cake per web...
-
First and second lvl 50 char bloodweb contains 1 cake.
Error messages while spending bloodpoints? Check
Error messages while clicking ready? Check
Error messages while starting a match? Check
Yeah no, so far the event doesn´t look like its flushed out.

Yep, got a "profile could not be saved" or something like this error and kicked back to the login.
And 280 ping lobbies and getting kicked back to the main menu after the match was already starting "you have been disconnected from the host".

Trust me, people will keep doing the easiest way for 4k. They dont care about hook. Increase Gen time, 2nd objective or whatever would just make 4k easier, its rare to find a fair play killer.
Before Undying was nerfed, survivors greatest complaint was that killers get handed ez wins because of Undying Ruin.
They didn´t complain about camping killers.
They didn´t complain about tunneling killers.
They complained about being "forced" to do something else than gens.
So, its save to say, that given more time by an additional objective, killers will take their time.

are we playing the same killer? because I'd say the complete opposite
I´m playing the one whose "power" consists in hitting survivors 3 times, before they are downed.
Which one are you playing?
-
You can blame the gen speed for it. If the killer would get actually more than 3 or 4 hooks by the time all gens are completed, then there would be less tunneling.
-
He´s currently the worst killer, because he´s more efficient when he just uses M1 instead of M2 to down survivors. His "power" benefits survivors more than himself.

Nemesis

Now you're just a salty killer main, its not about what I want, its about the mechanics of the perk and what its designed to do, and if the latest rework made its design stronger or weaker, and BT currently is in a weaker state because just like you're crying about, a stronger BT has a longer active time. Reducing BT's active time is clearly a nerf.
BT now protects against stealth or insidious killers. Previously BT wouldn´t trigger if the unhooked survivor wasn´t inside the killers terror radius.
Thats a buff in my book.
Oh and i´m not the one crying about BT.
-
@DescendingSaint said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2321158#Comment_2321158
BT gives you endurance which still has a cost if you're hit, if you think getting 15 seconds of BT when unhooked while the killer is now on the opposite side of the map is better because of the nerf, you clearly dont know BT strats.
So how many seconds do you want to protect a survivor from getting "camped" by a killer who stands at the opposite side of the map? 60? 120? 360?

Cash-grabbing survivor outfits, underwhelming killer, the map is a disaster and the console version is a mess right now, what else?
Don´t forget the massive grind! Everyone who starts now will notice that he needs 1000 hours to get a decent build and nope out.

But stats say that Nemesis is the most played killer right now🤔
Could be because of all the RE fans that came in with the chapter. But they won´t stay much longer around, if the game stays in this state.
-
@BioX said:

@DescendingSaint said:

The BT rework is not a buff, the only instance in which guaranteed BT proc benefits now is against stealth killers, which is highly situational because stealth killers still have terror radius in chase, otherwise the reduced active time is a pretty huge nerf considering the counter to BT is just to wait it out, now that's easier to do.
BT was buffed (once again). Not nerfed. But i guess the devs will buff it once more, because survivors see it as a nerf, when they don´t get 30 seconds of immunity.

Yeah, but you don't know the killer is camping when the match starts.
And no, killers can choose to pressure a specific combo of gens to push survivors towards a 3-gen. Especially with Ruin.
Not really.
You exagerate on the power of Ruin. It has half the regression speed of what a single survivor would take to repair. If the killer starts chasing 1 survivor, the 3 others can do the gens that prevent them from 3 genning themselves. When he breaks the chase, the survivor just goes back to the gen. Since the killer can only chase 1 survivor at the same time, there is absolutely no reason for survivors to 3 gen themselves.
-
@Firellius said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2320926#Comment_2320926
That's not true. Undying Ruin would still provide a threat and pressure before the survivors figure out that the killer is camping. They could spend a ton of time hunting totems while the killer sets up a camp.
And if the killer is tunnelling or camping on a 3-gen, Undying Ruin makes that unbreakable.
Ruin does absolutely nothing when the killer is camping. So no need to go on a totem hunt.
3 gen is totally on the survivors side. They are the only ones that can 3 gen themself.
-
This is sadly normal right now.
-
Fear not, my friend. I'll make sure she gets your message.
-
I´ll wait until the "event" goes live.
If its just a "you´ll find 0-2 cakes per bloodweb", then no. I won´t be excited at all.
-
@Firellius said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2320909#Comment_2320909
Just because they had other, more pressing issues doesn't prove they weren't still getting tunnelled and camped.
Killers that tunneled or camped didn´t get any value out of Undying Ruin.
So that was actually a way to slowdown the match for everyone. Making it potentially more enjoyable for everyone, because survivors had more to do and killers would roam more gens instead of tunneling.
But as we see on the Undying nerf, survivors didn´t enjoy this playstyle. So its back to camp&tunnel.
-
@Firellius said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2315456#Comment_2315456
I think this is a critical take-away. These two issues sustain each other and neither can be addressed without fixing the other. If gen speeds are slowed down, killers get a fantastic incentive to camp and tunnel more since it would be a direct buff to those strategies.
Wrong. Killers wouldn´t camp more than now, because they wouldn´t feel as pressured to do so and i can prove this!
Just look at what the main survivor issue was, back before Undying was nerfed: it was doing totems. Survivors didn´t complain about getting camped or tunneled, but about how killers are getting ez wins, because of the Undying Ruin meta.
-
Honestly, just stop using gen slowdown perks. The devs don't see a problem with the gen speed and even want to prevent synergy between slowdown perks.
So just play how the devs want: without those perks.
Will you lose a ton of matches, because survivors won't change their playstyle and rush gens? Sure! But it's the only way to give the devs their valuable data. Once they see that the majority of matches end with 3 or 4 hooks by the time the gates are powered, they'll have to start addressing the issue.
That is, IF that hook counter actually does something.

So far, it feels really damned if you do, damned if you don't for me as a killer. If you focus on winning "why are you ruining the game for other people?" You play purposely "fair" and they just 4 man escape, spin you because console, teabag, spam flashlights. Its like... I kind of have more fun when I get one kill at the end.
Getting the consolation kill is a nightmare against swf without NOED. I honestly thought Overwatch was the most toxic game I played and wow... They were kind of not exaggerating. It can get a lot worse.
But you know, I don't take it too seriously. I am still having a great time and will probably stick with it.
Just play as you want and ignore the comments after the match. Because someone will always leave a salty message. Doesn't matter if they died after maxing out points or if they escaped and barely got any points. There's always a "reason" to complain about how the killer played.
So the best thing you can do is ignore it.

Yeah it was the case, i main killer but i play ocasionnaly with friends on survivor. Survivor lobby got back to the point where they were before RE chapter. So no more killer.
The meta being hold shift + w and bring prove thyself everygame isn't helping. Gens fly nowadays, more than ever.
I find myself tunneling more and more to be able to get a 4 k. Playing against good survivor forces you to do that or you might as well be afk.
That was quick. I thought that the new stream of RE fans would increase our playerbase. But they probably already left because of the horrible first expression they got.
Shame.
