  • Trolls and lurkers crawl out of their caves everytime there's an event. Just close endgame chat and don't give any attention to them. They're just sad little people who thinks them being an awful person towards randoms online is some sort of validation for themselves. They are in need of human contact, but being a douche is the only way they know how to get any kind of attention albeit being bad or good.

  • Guess what, guys. They did it again! They lowered the milestones

Hey. The second page of the event isn't even available for 4 whole more days. It'll be alright. Not everything is meant to be rushed and finished immediately. Sit back and enjoy yourself and the rewards will come.

Waiting times in Event lobby has increased substantially. People have done their event challenges now and have switched back to normal lobbies. Finding a game in event lobby is almost impossible right now

  • Report this on "Bug Reporting" section

  • Not loving it atm. Going against only sweaty killers who have the most tryhard builds. All the lurkers came back again when the event began

And I think the killers hook teleport is a bit overkill. The pallet breaking with invitation is fine, but I think they over did it with this one.

  • If the Killer side is in it's worst state right now, then why is there always BP incentives on for survivors every time I play? (EU servers) Wouldn't that mean people are playing more killer than survivors?

  • I agree to some degree (Hey! That rhymes…) But in reality, if BHVR stopped releasing new content for the sake of bug fixing only, the community and players would go ballistic. They've become so accustomed that they're getting something constantly for (almost) free and have taken so much for granted what BHVR has done for the game. I'm not saying all would do this, but most will.

It's a lose/lose-situation for BHVR right now if they do that.

BHVR keeps fixing bugs relatively often, though. And they've been doing somewhat good job at that considering the size of their team (they're not a huge AAA-studio) and balancing between releasing new content and fixes. And they really do react pretty fast if something is really, REALLY broken by using "killswitch" compared to other games and studios *cough cough*Blizzard Bethesda*cough cough*

  • No. Tryhards would still play the casual mode

    Really? Well

  • Yeah. My thoughts exactly when I watched that video.

  • Even though it is an interesting idea, there are multiple cons to this. Probably the biggest one being the fact that the kill counts would plummet hard. It would also mean that the gen speeds need to be extended and jungle gyms nerfed, which would make gameplay worse for survivors. And I still think it wouldn't take out the tunneling. It might even increase it.

And the hook timers needs to be shortened.

All and all, it would make the gameplay worse for everyone

  • Maybe not the items and add-ons, but with the offerings I'm all in. I'd re-sell all my mist and luck offerings. Those are complete waste of time and bloodpoints. And I wouldn't mind if the re-sell value was something like 5-10% of original value as long as I can get them out of my inventory

  • Blocking certain players could work if you can block only 2-3 players at the tops for week or two. You know, the same kind of mechanic like Overwatch uses.

This could also add some more leverage for BHVR to ban certain players along side of reporting. And might disincentivize some players to act like a-holes when you are being blocked by multiple players and can't find a match.

But that would also mean that BHVR would have to fix their SBMM and prioritize finding matches in the same MMR bracket rather than finding games fast (which, at the moment, puts lots of players against players that are way off of their own MMR). And we all know that isn't going to happen in a long time (if ever)…

There could also be something called "Reputation", or "Endorsing"-mechanic in this game. Since we have that "Thumbs Up"-option in the end game screen, why not utilize that for this. If you have more blocks than thumbs ups from other players, you'd be put at same pool with other "bad attitude" players and you'll be playing with them instead of players who have more thumbs ups than blocks… And I know that this could be abused by SWF's, but it could be circled around by giving SWF's only one vote (Thumbs up) for the whole team. They could vote someone from their own team or other player (killer or other survivor) Same with blocking system. If one from your team has blocked a certain player, your SWF wont go against that player as long as you stay as team (if you haven't also blocked that player).

I know, there are lots and lots of "if's" and "but's" and different variables for multiple situations, but something like this should be at least considered by the devs. This community is way too toxic for it's own good. Most players are fine and nice, but it's because of few bad apples that have ruined the enjoyment of this game for the most of us.

"1% of the playerbase wants to ruin the fun for the rest of the 99%"

So, is Billy the new killer to complain about ? I just want to know because I have a job irl and don’t want to invest time into something that is going to be nerfed after survivors complaints.

Not much of complaint against Billy (a little, though), but more like complaint about the game. Probably I should've worded my self better on the post. I wish there was a mechanic in the game that looks how many times you've gone against a certain killer and the starts to find games against other killers from time to time.

I need variety in this game. It's boring (and also infuriating) going against the same killer over and over again.

Same was with Wesker and Blight not long time ago...

Truth be told, I just got out of a game against Nurse and it actually felt like a breath of fresh air. I died, but at least the other three got out. And I have never had anything against Nurse

  • I use it from time to time. I don't usually rate the game as bad (one pip) just because I lost or something. If the game was fair and fun, I usually go with something like four pips, sometimes even all five if it is really challengin. But if the game is a complete mudstomp, players grief, DC, troll anything like that, then I usually put the one pip only. Even if I won easily. No fun in those games.

  • Better question is: "What matchmaking?"

  • As a survivor, if a killer lets me do the glyphs mid chase, I will let them hook/kill me after that. As a killer, if you've played fair and square the whole match, I will let you do the glyph. After that, you choose do you want to get downed or not.

And if it's white glyph, I will leave them be and find another survivor for the time being. "I'll be back!"

  • @psybombscorpion said:

Seconding this. I got 3 consecutive skill-checks in a row on a generator, and during the match, the challenge glowed as "completed" on the hud like any other challenge in the rift. However, after returning to the lobby, the rift challenge was still listed as incomplete.

Was using Technician, Windows of Opportunity, Lucky Star, and Stake-Out

Many have pointed out in the forums that the only way to get this, is to get three consecutive great skill checks and not do gens anymore after that and get yourself killed. So basically, throw the match. But BHVR has acknowledged that this is indeed a bug and are looking up on it

  • I also thought they just made it bigger... Oh well 🤷‍♂️

  • Not a bug, but an optimization issue

Bingo. Different perks have different purposes. Some are designed to be genuinely useful, others are made to either allow new playstyles or do something different. No Mither definitely falls in the latter category. It gives you a consistent way to activate perks that require you to be injured, or just allows you to run it on its own to make the game harder on yourself. Will it improve your chances of survival? Unlikely. But it does bring variety to the table.

At this point, there's 246 perks in the game (131 for Survivors alone). If you're looking for more useful perks, you can definitely find four that are more your cup of tea. But we also like to make sure there's some options available for people who want to mix things up.

"others are made to either allow new playstyles or do something different."

I've been seeing more and more games now where killers are tunneling hard at 5-4 gens and they would purposely stand and face camp the survivor for them to hop off the hook only to be tunneled down very hard

even when you try to take body blocks for the survivor they would down you and ignore you going for the person they were tunneling hard for

This is a viable tactic. You're chasing one, other one comes and takes a protection hit and gets downed. Third person comes to heal that who took the protection hit while killer is chasing the first survivor.

That's three, THREE survivors not doing gens.

Just sit on gens if you see someone being tunnelled and/or camped on hook. You're just throwing your own game if you try to go for a save. And the killer also is throwing their own game if they do it on beginning. Heck, if the survivor getting tunnelled is good looper, worst case scenario is that you also ruin their game, too.

Is that annoying playstyle? Yes. Does it needed to be addressed/nerfed? No

This happens often in Yamaoka Estate maps where there is lots of rocks. I couldn't use my power even though I had, in my eyes, enough room to use my ability but the game said "No".

I always have to use map of the realm and call to arms. I can't use any other addon or my gameplay and any fun I have for knight will drop significantly.

That was literary not the point. Tunneling always existed in this game. But most forum posts as well as this one complain about it getting worse and worse in the last couple of weeks. And one of the reasons why it has gotten worse is probably that perks like erruption etc. have been nerfed.

    And the MMR adjustment

  • Knight. Without a doubt.

Hate his minions. I know... They're actually called "guardians", but to me, they're like those yellow minions from Despicable Me, that annoy everyone. And his terror radius is way too big. And his music always cuts for a second everytime he sends out those minions. Way too good at three genning

Cenobite and SM comes shared second place.

Anyone else suffering from Schrodinger's Decisive Strike? Simultaneously a perk and not a perk at the same time? When you take it, you don't get tunneled, whenever you don't take it, the Killer comes for you specifically like you owe him money...

I just had 2 games back to back, where I saw on my HUD the Killer found and ran past 3 of my teammates, got the wiggles and everything... and kept dropping chase until he found me...

I dunno who's cereal I spat in, but I actually managed to loop them both times through 2-3 gens, but it didn't matter, they we all over me like a Fat Cat on a pack of Dreamies. 🤣🤣🤣

I usually have Schroedinger's Unbreakable. Everytime I use it, killers pick me up instantly. And when I don't use it, they leave me to the ground 😂

  • For me, there's a 99.99% chance that I will let survivor, or survivors go, if the following happens during the match:

    1. If the first hooked survivor kills him/her on the first hook within a few minutes into the match and they have all the gens left
    2. If you play fair and square. If you're actually trying to escape and do gens, I play fair also. Some flashlight saves and rescues here and there are just fine and encouraged. But if your whole purpose is just to bully me and and not do gens, be prepared to get tunnelled and slugged the hell out
    3. If I see that all the survivors are new to the game, or aren't that good.
    4. If I see a survivor doing hacks/cheats
    5. If you're the last survivor and I see that you were actually trying to play the game and lost only because the others doing some stupid crap
    6. If someone DC's early in the game

Keep in mind. This doesn't necessarily always occur. There are so many variables that can affect my mindset during that day.

  • My Top 5-killers I enjoy go against and hate.

    Enjoy:

    1. Demogorgon (Or Huntress)
    2. Michael Myers
    3. Legion
    4. Pyramid Head
    5. Oni

    Hate:

    1. Knight
    2. Wesker
    3. Skull Merchant
    4. Pinhead
    5. Blight

The others are either "Ok, I guess" and "Meh". Wesker is my number 2, because he is almost in half of my survivor games. I don't know, but If he wasn't played so much, he might not have been on this list and SM would be my number two.

I don't know if they tweak'ed mmr but i highly doubt. But what is happens i think, casual players ( mostly survivors ) are leaving DbD since they have not fun anymore.

Like dying is fine but when you just lose and lose countless times, it's no longer fine anymore. Every match killer is tunnelling someone out and then getting their easy 4Ks. Solo and casual SWFs are not getting enough wins. It's really not surprising me to see BP bonus on survivor most times.

More casual leaves DbD = More sweaty survivors you will face. Nature of matchmaking.

What I think has happened is a combination of multiple separate events that happened recently.

1: TCM was released earlier this year. This caused many players to switch over there, which plummeted the playerbase and the MMR began to fill the games of high ranking players with lower ranks and newbies. This was going on a for a while (summer-fall) and maybe caused them to play more relaxed mudstompers

2: People lost interest on TCM, which caused some of the players to jump back to DbD

3: Halloween event happened, which lured more (experienced) players back. MMR started to match high MMR players against players that were closer to their own rank

4: Stranger Things returned! This caused more people to jump back to the game. The MMR gets more pool to match higher ranking players against each other

5: Right after ST's glorious return, BHVR announced Chucky, which caused even more people to jump back to the game and now MMR doesn't need to work overtime trying to match what ever it can find from the queue. Now it is matching players against players of their own level/rank.

I don't think BHVR tweaked anything. It's just fallacy of some Youtubers who are trying to find explanation why they can't steamroll anymore. So basically, mass hysteria.

Reminds me why I stopped watching DBD content creators.

But yeah, the panic is real, high skilled players realized that there are high skilled survivors in pub matches. Poor preferential matchmaking spoiled folks.

Doesn't change anything, SBMM is still complete and utter garbage at putting similarly skilled people against one another.

Commenting on the video here: "I like to go against lower skill level players so that I can concentrate on the chat" If that really is the mentality of most streamers, no wonder this game's community is so arrogant and toxic. Jesus H. Christ!

If you find this game boring, then stop playing and just stream yourself just talking to the viewers. See how that goes

  • The only reason where I use Map Offerings, is when the map pool keeps sending me to a certain map multiple times during a session. This one time, and I kid you not, I got RPD three times in a row just through map rotation it self (nobody used offerings). After the third, we were sent to Lery's but after that, BOOM, RPD again.

The map rotation in this game needs fixing. But I agree, Map Offerings should go entirely from this game

  • Map offerings should be deleted entirely from this game

  • I was more thinking franchises like "Demonic Toys" and "Puppetmaster"... BHVR could sell all of the toys as skins for Chucky

  • Actress with same kind of self irony as Nic Cage has, Glenn Close comes first in my mind.

Other good candidates are Michelle Pfeiffer, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kathleen Turner, Milla Jovovich, Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Hilary Swank, Margot Robbie, Cameron Diaz, Lucy Lawless

This discussion has come up so many times. The devs seem to think it'll be abused and might make queue times worse (tbh I think if someone is getting blocked so much they're having trouble finding a game, then maybe it's deserved...). Anyway, I've said before we should each get like 5 or so block spaces each so can only block a limited number of people.

And for a limited amount of time. Like a week tops. Like in Overwatch

  • The SBMM is really wonky in this game. Especially if you go against SWF's. I'm guessing it calculates the average MMR of the team and compares it to yours. It's usually like this, 3 players are on high MMR and the fourth one has tanked their MMR, or is playing on a new account (either a smurf or a new player). That drops the average of the team significantly and pairs them against lower MMR killer.

Do I have any proof of this? No, I don't. But it does feel like it most of the time. I think the SWF's MMR should be always counted from the two top players of the team, not the average.

  • This is a double-edged sword for me. The easiest answer is, no. It is not bannable by the ToS. Should it be? Well... Yes and no. If you do it occasionally here and there, it's fine. We've all done one time or the other for reasons (like cheaters, bullies etc...). But if you give up constantly on the first hook in the first few minutes of the match, then BHVR should begin to take a look at you.

I mean, there should be mechanism that takes into account on how long your match lasts in average according to the first hook. If you keep constantly killing yourself on the first hook X amount of times in a timespan of Y, then there should be a first warning to be given to player which says "If you keep doing this, you'll be locked out of matchmaking after three warnings" And after three warnings, the MM lock timer increases the same amount like you were DC'ing. But should it deserve a full account ban? No.

    Something like that.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 12
