Already uninstalled dbd and not coming back. Love the horror experience as survivor.
The best thing I really like is you have to play your character to level up that specific character in ability/perks .
Map is HUGE and can forsee many dlc's in the future.
Pretty much wanted to say bye on dbd game. Once awhile i might stop by the forum.
We get it. You hate this game

Somehow Epic's DbD work just fine. So this must be a Steam issue.
Yeah, it seems so
-
No, you're not tripping. It seems to be at least NA and EU servers that are down

It seems to be a wider problem

Holding whatever button it is you use to run should stop that from happening. Shift on PC, pretty certain it's L1 on PS4/PS5, and logic tells me it's probably LB on Xbox.
Weird if it isn't doing the same for you, been that way for as long as I can remember. Can't count how many times I've accidentally pressed shift when somebody was healing me with sloppy, and all that healing just goes away...
Maybe it is so, but it just feels to work so random.
-
I don't know if it is so, because at least when I'm trying to get away when in dying state, I can't get rid of the one who's healing. And not to mention that everytime they try to heal, you're stopped for a millisecond. Do that couple of times during trying to get to exit gates and you're screwed

First off, players shouldn't DC or go AFK, and I think the penalties are all justified.
And there's some truth in what you said, but we all know how matchmaking is. If the game is so mismatched that the killer can't get a down in 10 minutes, they're not going to learn much from it, and the surv team has no reason to toy around with them other than for the sake of it (powertripping), which is the ultimate in tiny d energy.
If the OP's account is accurate, that is bullying, not a perception issue. And yes, people cry bullying over all kinds of tiny crap. But exerting your power over another simply because you can and not because you need to is bullying.
If you're a little league team who gets thrown into a game against major leaguers who just won't take their foot of the gas, "get better" isn't constructive criticism.
If you play this game enough, you're gonna end up on one side or the other of a major mismatch (or lots of them, probably). If you're that much better than your opponent, just finish the game and go, ffs.
Amen!!!
-
It started alright. And I think I'm gonna sit this one out. Horrendous match after another...
Survivor matches I was getting either tunneled out or my teammates were just crouching in the bushes and not doing gens. Or keep trying (poorly) blind the killer
Killer matches went against super SWF's or just players that were way too high on MMR compared to mine (I'm not a great killer player. Yes, it's a skill issue for those who try to bring this up) Survivors who I shouldn't be go against.
And those rewards and BBQ Invitations aren't worth the hassle.

So presumably it's gotta be Ripley and The Nostromo, right?
I suppose an outside chance of it being Corporal Hicks but besides Newt, I can't imagine there's any character in any of the Alien movies anyone would know by name (and presumably BHVR is not going to add a literal child to the game 😅).
Bishop?
-
Knight, Skull Merchant and Pinhead. Especially Knight. Every time I see that the killer is him, I just want to DC immediately (not doing it, though)
-
Do lobby dodging, if you're a new player. Dodge something like 3-5 lobbies and you'll eventually go against a team that is closer to your experience. The MMR in this game is really wonky, because of SWF's and the fact that game prioritizes finding matches quick rather than finding opponents of equal skill level
-
Since it is a well known issue, that the MMR in this game is a little bit wonky (to put it mildly), here's a tip for you; Lobby Dodging. If it looks like you're going against a SWF (similar names, skins, multiple flashlights etc...) just leave. Do this about 3 to 5 times and you'll eventually get a team that is closer to your real MMR.
I learned this the hard way. And now I am usually going against a lot fairer teams that match my skill level and not so many bully/meme squads.
-
Explain to us what is YOUR winning condition, then. Do you think you've lost because you didn't get any kills or downs? Or is it a loss if even one survivor escapes? Do you always aim for 4K?
-
They just dropped the limit to 700K
-
It seems BHVR has dropped the limit to 700.000 points
-
Dude, the invitation pallet break is really useful and somewhat OP during chases. Especially safe loops.

Do I smell a hint of sarcasm?

According to my experience, no.

Last 3 or 4 days has been abysmal on my games. I've gotten out on some matches, but mostly the games have been complete mudstomps. Today I had Wesker four times in a row... Not fun at all.
Anniversary event is coming out tomorrow, so I guess all the sweatheads came out of their hibernation... Again.
But then again, my Killer matches has been the other way around. Few matches have been harder and some of those classic bullysquads, but mostly the games have been 2-3 kills approx. I feel like I'm playing against 5-20h players.
-
Just got a 4 man SWF where at least two of them used speedhack. It was quite obvious. They just kept running straight and I couldn't catch them like at all. No vaulting, no looping. Just running.
-
Nope
-
Seriously, dude
-
Yes. Sometimes gate placement favors killer, sometimes it favors survivor. It's called "RNG". Deal with it. If we're going to handle this thing subjectively, every time I play killer, I think the gate placement always favors the last survivor.
And FYI, "Wake Up" is a perk you can use.

I've started to get this message today on XBox Series X

It doesn't because no one looks at in-game reports unless there is also a support ticket.
- Report in-game
- Make support ticket with evidence
- ???
- Profit
On console, reporting is next to impossible. Way too tedious and you cant record your gameplay without a third party program. And without evidence, BHVR wont even look at the ticket.
-
I'm not in favor to delete any of the killers, but I will welcome the idea of weekly rotating killer/perk(both survivors and killers)/offering bans. That would shake up the gameplay.

The game is almost 7 years old. At some point I would think the game gets sundowned.
I’d love to see a new and improved DBD 2 with better graphics, details, etc m.
Do you think it’ll ever happen or will we always have this version until it just dies?
I hope they'll keep this version, but also upgrade to a Unreal Engine 5

Sounds like you're the entitled one. You happen to live in a place that has a stable provider, or options to have and all of a sudden your right to play a game Trumps someone who has a less reliable connection? They also payed for the game. The entitlement here is gross. They mess up your game 1/xxxx times (how often is any one individual actually going to get matched with you, usually) and you want to whine about it 🥱
Again, I do not go to F1 with my 2002 Ford Focus and demand them to slow down their cars so that I can have a chance to race against them.
Same goes with the bad internet connection. It has nothing to do with entitlement. Just. Pure. Facts.

This take is legitimately asinine.
Some people live out in the countryside in the middle of nowhere. Some people only have one internet provider to choose from.
You can't just suggest they stop playing online games because of a bad connection.
Nothing asinine about it. Just facts. I know it sucks for those who only have a chance for one provider, but the truth is, not only are you shooting yourself on the leg with this one, you're shooting legs of other players, too.
I think it is more entitled to think that when you don't have a working or stable internet connection, that you're somehow entitled to treated somehow different than those who have a working internet connection.
This sums it up pretty much:

There is only one way to deal the terrible Matchmaking as Killer; LtLD.
"Learn to Lobby Dodge"
The first few queues are very often higher ranked SWF's that all the veteran Killers know to avoid.
Clues to Leave Lobby:
- Absurd Prestige ranks
- Lobby full, or mostly full before you arrive
- All players on a different platform than you
- Player names nearly identical (such as KidRoxx & KidRoxx2)
- Player using identical characters, outfits, & equip
Look at the bright side, it's still better than playing Solo Survivor. There is NOTHING they can do.
Yeah. I'm already doing that, but I don't want to "play" lobby dodging simulator all day.
-
Oh god no...
-
Hawkins. Hands down
-
It sounds to me that you were hard carried by some gen regression perks, and you refuse to change your game style to compensate the new meta. This just shows you are in the MMR on which you should not be.
P.S. It's just a game. Try not tilt so much. Take a break and have a breath once in a while. Learn to play other perks and styles. Do not go to a match in a mental state where you think you have to win. Set smaller goals along the match.... First down, first hooks etc.
-
@Veroles said:
Nope there is no perk what i do not use just because it looks "OP". That are different factors what makes a perk OP. I for example will not stop using noed on trapper just because the perk itself has potential in endgame.
I didn't mean that the perk must be OP or useless and per say. Just for reason you don't like to use a certain perk. Like I said about DS and DH; They are boring to me. I didn't say they were OP.
-
Youtubers: "Meta is getting stale. BHVR needs to do something about this. Otherwise the game dies!"
BHVR: "Ok. Here's the changes we are going to do to freshen up the gameplay"
Youtuber: "OMG! BHVR doesn't know or understand what they are doing! Why the changes? If this goes live, the game dies!"
BHVR: "What? Okay... Uhmm. How about we rework some stuff and see where it goes from there. And we've decided to release a new killer so that these changes will make sense..."
Youtubers: "Why is BHVR releasing YET another killer and doesn't concentrate on balance changes??? This game will die if they do not fix the balance!!"
BHVR: "Oh, come on!!! Fine. We'll concentrate on balance issues, then..."
Youtubers: " Why hasn't BHVR released any new killers, survivors or maps?!?! The balance isn't great, but this game is getting boring without new content!"
BHVR "Now you're just throwing a piss at me... Fine! We'll make balance changes that will revert the meta to previous one. Happy?? And here, have an event while at it!"
Youtubers: The meta is stale. This game is dying. BHVR needs to do something"
BHVR: OK! That's it! Come here you, you little sh---

a 5 minute break turns into a 10 minute break. then a 30 minute break. then an hour break. then a 24 hour break. i have no sympathy for lobby queue dodgers. sorry. that's just players cheesing the matchmaking for an easy game.
it's definitely the playerbase.
for some reason this community is full of crybabies and psychopaths..
i honestly feel sorry for behavior having to continue to support a game that has developed that kind of community over its lifetime.
i'm just glad they do. and i'm grateful for the few respectable members of the community that aren't unhinged.
in what reality is queue dodging ever acceptable? if you don't enjoy the game or like the mechanics then just don't play it. people shouldn't have to be forcibly removed from the queues, but i swear it's almost like people are addicted to it.
"sorry. that's just players cheesing the matchmaking for an easy game." You mean... Like SWF?
-
And nothing of value was lost
-
Well that's one huge wall of text...
-
So basically, I have just wasted some good, hard earned bloodpoints and I cant use them until next year... Nice one, BHVR.
-
Wraith, Trapper, Plague and Demogorgon. Can't remember when I went against those three.
Latest matches I've gone against: Blight, Blight, Nemesis, Wesker, Nemesis, Nemesis, Nurse, Wesker, Legion, Blight, Wesker and Trickster
-
I think the correct section for this post is in "Bug reporting"
-
Try them both on custom match with bots, and see which one fits your playstyle more. But if I had to guess, I'd say Plague is probably more your alley.
-
Sure.... Why not. As long as killers can see who is in SWF and survivors are locked to their build when they enter lobby. So no last second switch anymore.
-
Yes! I do miss Hawkins.

@Aven_Fallen said:
I would agree to any point except for point 2.
Reasoning:
- Yeah, I think at least Hook Grabs on healthy Survivors should be removed. Currently unhooking is a lose/lose-Situation for the Survivor if the Killer is camping, because they wont get the unhook and are just forced to stay there and let the other player reach second stage and THEN the Killer might hit them. Even without a Hook-Grab, the Killer will get a trade, so it should still be fine.
- I think it should be kept. And this is coming from someone who never gets the 4% when needed (like everyone is slugged and I was just put on the Hook and stuff like that) and only when they want to be out of the match (3v1 against Nurse with 5 Gens...aaand I am off the Hook). It is nice to have that little bit of Hope. Also, removing it would not force players to participate in the game. They can just go afk. Or, eat the DC-penalty when they REALLY dont want to keep playing.
- Agreed. On both sides, Offerings can be removed. E.g. Mist-Offerings, you may want to keep the purple one for Survivors and the one that lessens the Mist on Killer, but they can be removed as well, because their impact is nearly non-existent. I also think that especially the Survivor-Bloodweb needs to be decluttered, there are 3 times as many Items in it compared to Killer. And some are just useless - like, you wont take anything except for Batteries or Low-Amp Filament on Flashlights. Or green Maps should not exist alongside their Add-Ons to make them useful, when Red Maps are already not used at all. Or why is there a Key Add On to see Survivors 24m away, when there is one which lets them see for 48m?
- Yeah, No Mither at this point is pointless. I used to bring it for some time due to the extra Challenge, but now there is not really anything rewarding (like back in the day reaching Rank 1 with No Mither felt more rewarding than reaching Grade 1 nowadays). But nowadays you cannot really afford to take this Perk because the game is way more difficult for Survivors. And luckily most players agree, the only ones using it are poor Adept-Davids. And for this use, this Perk really does not need to exist in this state.
- Fully agreed. One of the most frustrating Perks to go against and one of the most pointless ones to use, depending on your role and group size.
"when Red Maps are already not used at all"
Ummm... Say what now? Red maps??
-
Yeah. I wish you could "sell" offerings back to the fog, and you would receive something like 33% of it's original value back. I want to sell all my luck and mist offerings, because they're useless. As a matter of fact, I'd like to sell all my grey offerings.
