I play both. I pretty much only play survivor if I'm playing with friends, which is why this increased wait time is so annoying for SWF.
Gotcha. I know what you mean in that case, I only play survivor when I can play with my brother but he can only play late- when the queues are rough for survivor.
-
Stop playing easy mode and start playing killer. See a need, fill a need.

I constantly see dumb ass killer mains tunneling, camping, and down right being dumb as hell because they're mad at survivors. They constantly use gen rushing or SWF as an excuse to do these things but what else are survivors supposed to do? Doing gens is the objective, why are you mad? SWF shouldn't even be an issue. If you can't counter a well coordinated team that says something about YOU as a killer. YOU'RE bad. Survivors don't owe you easy games because you're too brain dead to do your job efficiently. Survivors shouldn't have a disadvantage because they want to play a TEAM BASED game with their friends and work as a TEAM.
"tunneling, camping"
Both are valid tactics. Slugging too.
"down right being dumb as hell"
Killers aren't obligated to give you freebees or obvious ways out because you want an easy game. This may not be the game for you.
"SWF shouldn't even be an issue. If you can't counter a well coordinated team that says something about YOU as a killer. YOU'RE bad."
Objectively wrong. Playing in a SWF is totally different. The information you get alone covers like a half a dozen perks if you're playing in a four stack. I play with my brother and the two of us alone is like playing a different game and we're able to flip trials completely even if our two other teammates get knocked in the beginning of the match. We routinely counter things like NOED in a matter of seconds and get massive altruism plays. That's just two of us- not even four which is obviously much better. If you can't win a game against a killer in a 4 man SWF then the killer is not the weak one and you really shouldn't be complaining in the first place given that discord is basically the equivalent of empathy, bond, object of obsession alert, and so much more for free.
"Survivors don't owe you easy games"
Super hypocritical. Here you are complaining that killers aren't spoonfeeding you easy games and you have the nerve to project your chief complaint onto others? You need some self reflection.

You sound so entitled. The Karen of DbD
I don't expect those things. I'm literally calling out the entitlement. I don't know if you're baiting, but killers don't owe survivors anything. Every killer has the right to tunnel, slug, teabag, then shame the survivors in the after chat just like I expect most survivors are running DS, teabagging at exit gates, and roasting killers in the after chat after nabbing a few head on blows.
Your post should have been directed at OP and the fact it's not is hypocritical and severely biased.

Every call to DS and MoM should be threatened with a revert to how they were when the game launched. (DS could activate without being hooked and MoM only required 3 basic attacks).
DS was way better when the game came out. Only one person could use it. It got buffed out the bum later on.

Also, the killer is not playing for you. Are you going to pretend you play for the killer? You give him fair chases? You don't teabag at any exit gates? Get out of here lol

How would you feel about having a proximity chat in dbd? Where within x amount of meters, players can talk through the mic. The killer would also have access to this as well, being able to either talk or torment survivors. This wouldnt be for any sort of advantage, but more for fun content. I think it would be pretty funny to hear a killer just start screeching as they're chasing a survivor, etc. What do you guys think? Anything to add?

Seriously just slap in the middle of the others and surround that 1 diamond with it. IDC if killers ger a 5th perk slot as long as survivors get one. I just want to be an annoying medic and dbd won't let me be great.
What they should have done is have multiple perk values.
It might be too late to do it, but each survivor gets five perk slots with each perk having a different value. Things that cause exhaustion (lithe, balanced landing, dead head on, sprint burst) would cost one for example. Things like object of obsession, decisive strike, or borrowed time that influence the way the killer has to play would cost two, and perks that are just too meta cost two (such as inner strength and adrenaline). That would mean perks we do not normally see play might see a way to wiggle in there while people trying to use things like DS and ADR are limited and forced to open up to different perks instead of using the meta if they want a more interesting play style since those two perks alone cost four points (in which a boring player would just stack another exhaustion perk, or an interesting player might stack something like spine chill for their fifth perk, or any of Ace's perks).
Killer should have six perks but with certain perks costing two as well. There's not a common theme for picking the most expensive ones, but meta picks like NOED could then cost two(I hate to say it, but hex:ruin and pop goes the weasel would fit into this category). So if a killer ran nothing but meta, they would only have three perks but if they ran an underground build using things like territorial imperative and iron grasp and agitation and some other basement perks they could easily get six in there. Likewise most hexes would only cost one except things like NOED or ruin.
That should diversify the play styles of both killer and survivors and encourage underused perks to be more relatively valued. They would not have to change many of the perks to fit this schema.
-
If you have to use DS past the first week of playing you're only doing it because you secretly want the killer to DC.
-
@EvilJoshy said:
Contrary to popular belief you don't need DS to play survivor. Your side controls the flow of the match. Gen slow don't perks however are damn near mandatory on most killers who lack map pressure.
This is extremely true. I love playing Myers and Ghostie but the only way to play them is through strict control since they have no mobility compared to Billy or Freddy or Gordón. Myers is decent if you're playing a basement build but you're at the whim of the map. If I don't have pop, dying light, thanatophobia, and overcharge on my Ghostie the game is over in like five minutes and I never get to set up for my ability. It's ridiculous.
-
@SCP_FOR_DBD said:
I don't think pop is necessary, since its just a slowdown perk. I think a better basekit killer perk would be corrupt, to stop gen rushing. Other than that I'd be down.
This is actually a really great idea. Corrupt could be reworked, and moving the effect to base-kit would be pretty balanced if it only affected one or two generators. I think three or four generators would not be very much fun for survivor sides, but it would give the killer a chance in the beginning when they desperately need it the most.
DS should be heavily nerfed and left as a perk. Interacting with objects cancels it, it lasts about 20 seconds OR only one person could run it as is. I'm tired of eating two or three DS' in the mid game because everyone drops like flies and gets rewarded for it. It's always been the single most demoralizing aspect of playing killer.

Past killers that have been put into the game are not original. Like seriously devs, Are you guys not capable of making an original killer with unique powers, then just copying existing power and make it different?
Oni is just Hillbilly, but with 1 extra step, but the power is better then Hillbilly
Demogorgon is just half huntress, because his shred attack basically turns yourself into a hatchet
Deathslinger is just huntress, but with limited range
Pyramid head is just huntress, but with limited range, but can hit through objects
And now the blight, is just Hillbilly but with uncomfortable controls/hitbox with the collision, and legion with unnecessary steps that scream "just run around a wall and I have to be an M1 killer"
The blight, is possibly by far the worst killer, we don't even need more than 2 days to already know that he is a very low tier killer.
Yes his map pressure power is good, but you can't win with only just map pressure. His power is only good for getting around the map quickly and catching survivors who are out of position or off guard, everything else, his power is horrible at. His power is useless almost in every situation that involves survivors being at any type of walls or loops, he is completely forced to be an M1(this is excluding one of his perks and two of his addons, remember, we are talking about The Blight himself, not what makes him better)
Though, can't wait for samination to completely make fun of The Blight by having him head banging everything every second
"Demogorgon is just half huntress, because his shred attack basically turns yourself into a hatchet"
You are a complete stooge.

I don’t remember exactly what the devs said so I could be wrong here, but they said something along the lines of it being like a completely different character. While oni does obviously look completely different, he still has the kanabo, same dash and is actually just a re-skin

It is a legendary skin though, it’s not supposed to be just a ‘reskin’, the survivor legendary actually changes more than just the skin
That's a precedent but not a rule. I don't own a single legendary so I hadn't even noticed.
-
@Justalittlepeeck said:
So, what were legendary skins been advertised as? "Completely new character, 2 characters in 1" and so on. A skin that turns ONE character with ONE personality and appearance into ANOTHER with ANOTHER personality and appearance.
In case of Lisa Garland, she kinda fit into that description, despite being a not very good skin: she had different lobby stance and generally looked like a different character as she definitely had a different personality compared to Cheril. People didn't like her because she didn't gave much changes for a 15$ skin, but she fit into description of legendary quality nonetheless.
Now. Guardian of Labyrinth aka Minotaur skin for Oni. Not only this skin doesn't have any changes, but it also doesn't fit into a description of "Completely new character" and here's why:
- Why is GREEK MYTHOLOGY BEAST using a JAPANESE weapon (Kanabo)?
- Why is GREEK MYTHOLOGY BEAST that is HALF MAN HALF BULL charging like a SAMURAI?
- Why is GREEK MYTHOLOGY BEAST mimicking Kazan's Yamaoka sword technicues (in the lobby, in the game during 2nd hit animation and so on)?
Not very major, but nonetheless:
- Why is GREEK MYTHOLOGY BEAST performing Kazan's Yamaoka SIGNATURE killing move? You can argue that ripping tongue and bashing them with a heavy weapon isn't very unique and it's pretty likely for a beast like Minotaur do something like that too and I can partly agree, but nonetheless it just adds up into "not so new character".
- Why does Minotaur have THE SAME VOICE as Yamaoka Kazan? Yeah, Cheril and Lisa have the same voice, but remember that Lisa has unique lobby animation and different facial animations?
I suppose there are some minor changes (animation/sounds) but I haven't noticed them after 4 hours of playing Oni in new skin, so I assume there are none.
In the end, Minotaur skin is just a reskin of Oni. A beautiful one, undoubtly, but just a reskin which I personally CANNOT consider a separate character or LEGENDARY worthy. It is a Purple or Very rare skin, but NOT a LEGENDARY. He has NO unique personality. He is NOT a separate character, but just a purple skin for Oni that is posed as a legendary.
Now, what do I suggest to make this legendary skin BETTER. I'll start from simplest to hardest options in my opinion:
- Make him different voice. Simply lower the pitch of already recorded voicelines, that'll do the trick.
- Give him new lobby animation. EVEN THAT would be enough to give Minotaur a unique personality.
- Create new animations for Demon Dash. Anything noticeable. For example if he additionally lowers his head horns forward like a bull (while Oni keeps his head straight).
- Create new mori animation. Yes. For example - he bashes a survivor with his kanabo/club multiple times or lifts them on his horns.
- Replace his Kanabo. With anything. A big bone, a wooden club, a mace, a n y t h i n g that is not a weapon associated with japanese warriors. An additional point for making a weapon associated with ancient Greece.
I hope you'll do what needs to be done and give Minotaur what he deserves. I've been disappointed in that skin, but I still have faith in you, Devs. Please do the right thing and give Minotaur personality.
Thank you, have a nice day
"In the end, Minotaur skin is just a reskin of Oni"
Duh. No one claimed otherwise.

There's already a ton of less toxic perks that can be used to counter these things.
-
Don't mess around either OP. My perkset:
*Thanatophobia*: A 4% delay per injured/hooked/downed person. If they bodyblock they've just played themselves. If you get just a single hit off their entire team is punished with time delay buildups. They have to heal to get out of it, but...
*Sloppy Butcher*: Makes them even more foolish if they bodyblock. Adds 4 seconds to a standard one surv healing another. Adds 8 seconds to self healers. Counters first aid kits to a degree. Only countered by Inner Strength as long as there are totems to go around, which requires time, but...
*Dying Light*: Gives the obsession quicker healing and unhooks. If you find them, just slug them and waste their teams time. At top tier its a 3% per hooked non-obsession. You won't notice the effects until you get at least three tokens, but it stacks with Thanatophobia. By the end game they usually have a 20-30% delay on gens. Sometimes more if you're clever. The only thing is that if someone DS' you, they become your new obsession and you have to leave them alone. But if you kill your obsession on accident, DS will give you a new obsession with all of your tokens. The worst thing that can happen with these three perks is that one super-looper with Object of Obsession is hellbent on giving callouts to her buddies and looping you through every single pallet on the map. You might get genrushed, but if you get a single hook it is a huge benefit because...
*Pop Goes the Weasel*: 20 seconds off their victory timer for each hook you get. You can routinely set them back 3-6 hits, that's 1-2 minutes straight off the victory time, not including the stacks to Thanatophobia and Dying Light.
-

2 gens popped in 2 minutes without add ons?
Pretty standard if they're hitting greats, using Prove Thyself, or running that no-mither gen booster perk set- any combo of these with two survs on two gens will do it.
-
@DawnMad said:
Well this is not an actual strategy, no experienced killer in their right mind would chase a survivor for that long without pressuring the gens. Healing, unhooking and especially running around is what survivors end up doing most of the match instead of the generators. Props to you for putting that effort in the math though, that's basically the worst case scenario for a killer.
"no experienced killer in their right mind would chase a survivor for that long "
It's very easy to let ego get in the way of tactics, especially after you've invested so much time into a single target. What I ran into several months ago were SWFs running OPs perklist of ADR, BT, and DS but with one guy on Object of Obsession. I had to bring that guy down first because everyone else kept getting away and predicting me move for move. I ended up smacking a few around because they would bodyblock right before I could bring one down but they didn't even heal. I could end up,if I was lucky, knocking down the OoO user as gates were opening a few times but ADR kicked in. For their whole team. Even if I hook his buddies can just run up and grab him. They can body block. He has DS. He has ADR too if he was on the hook right before last gen popped too, so he'll come off hook at full health.
Filthy.

@Cosmin262 said:
The reason I'm asking that question is because the devs banned the use of MLGA and they should see this and think if they will ever want to play against/with this guy again...what a great player experience

After using this forum for some time the amount of killer bias here is insane. Any thing that even slightly benefits survivors is looked down upon. I think the main reason for this bias is do to the fact that in the past survivors were op but nowadays they arent that strong.
But because of the effects of 2016-rarly 2018 real survivor problems are ignored and that's not good. If we continue to ignore problems survivors face the player base will decline and the killer wait times will increase and inevitably the game will die.
Killer mains stop looking at survivors as someone out to ruin your game and look st them as a human wanting to have fun playing too.
I'm tired of the us vs them mentality why cant it be just "us." Why can't we look at all the problems as a whole and work to fix them. I ask killer mains and survivor mains alike play the opposite side and get good at it try to understand their struggles.
For you killer mains that say survivor is op go plag solo survivor at rank 1 and ask yourself do you want to play swf or that. For you survivor mains that think killer is op go play wraith on ormond and ask yourself is this even fair.
You guys know moris and keys right? Yeah they are both broken they both need reworks. The point I'm trying to make is that we need to get together and combine the community rather than divide and only then will dbd improve its health.

I've heard the idea tossed around for about as long as I've been playing DBD. Typically as a joke. But the last couple of weeks the hype for a Five Nights at Freddy's chapter has been getting pretty intense. My 11 year old son won't shut up about it. Which tells me he's been watching some youtube videos of people talking about it. WHY? Why all the sudden does this seem to be such a hot topic? Is it because of the Clown elephant and Legion bunny costumes that people seem to think this is the direction the game is going and now FNaF is a real possibility? I deeply, truly, passionately do not want FNaF in this game. Am I alone in this? I would love to hear from the Devs stating that it will never happen so the topic can be dropped.
It started on plebbit. Then they started posting in these forums after some artists made some mockups of fake material. Then the youtuber "The King" saw it either from here or probably plebbit. Now everyone's talking about it and I just don't care about it.

Honestly if you really want to camp or tunnel or T-bag at every pallet for whatever reason- justified or not, just go ahead, but don't start crying when someone calls you out for doing it.
Literally every time I play survivor and someone rots on hook because of the killer camping, the killer gets super salty when called out in the end game chat and usually outright denies it. If you're "patrolling" a hook and someone goes into second stage/ dies because you refused to commit to a chase, you camped them. There's no denying it.
Same goes for survivor, if you're SWF and you rush the killer, don't start crying when you get camped
I teabag every pallet drop as survivor. I've just begun running DS so I can bully them. I made a killer quit yesterday on my first day really running it. I runt it alongside head on so I can abuse stuns and pair it with "Dance With Me" So they end up looking in the wrong direction half the time anyways. And then when I get the add ons I use flashies.
When I'm killer and I'm in full tryhard mode I keep tight patrols, run the most stalling of perks and/or NOED, sometimes just run basement trapper, and ensure that every down/hook of a survivor is commemorated with a teabag as Ghostie.
When I'm not a tryhard I split pressure and slug when they're about to die instead to secretly ensure that none die.
-
Killers TR's could be custom too. Also they need an option to get rid of screaming every time I'm hooked or I hook. Good idea though! Stranger Things in the lobby would be fun and easy for them to do (assuming the business end gets worked out...).

Wouldnt the red basicly be Pinky finger on crack since all survivors affected by the cloud would immediately be 1 shot? You wouldnt even need to hit them with the bottle directly.
It only affects them if they're already injured. There's so many self heal options good teams are rarely injured unless running No Mither- and they don't care about broken anyways.

DS is mostly fine as it is what im trying to say is I try not to down survivors that just got unhooked and i try not to stay near the hook even when someone is nearby. Its not fun being downed right as you get unhooked as survivor or having someone loop the killer in font of you while your hooked, but when you try to make the game fun for you and the opposite team they see that and rush the gens because by not slugging or looping someone around a hook when you can you essentially forfeit the extra pressure
