  • Totally depends on my mood. Just got off work and want to chill and have fun? Survivor. Want a lot of engagement and skill expression? Killer. Killer more than survivor requires me to be in the right state of mind; it's more stressful and that's not always what I want.

But more often than not lately I've been playing whichever side has the bonus, which has led to a lot of sleepwalking through killer games I didn't really want to play.

In that way I prefer the old perk based BP bonuses because I didn't feel compelled to play one side or the other for any reason but wanting to.

  • I've noticed a lot of people running calm spirit recently, for as much good as it does. I feel like distortion rose to prominence a long while ago, though. We've been in an aura reading meta for a hot minute.

    Title: Absolutely not.

Unpopular opinion but I think WoO is a crutch. Of course nothing against anyone who uses it. This is just my own opinion.

More than any other perk, it feels kind of like a set of "training wheels", and imo, is really only of great value to new-ish players. Like a bike, the key is knowing when to take them off.

By the time you're 1K+ hours into the game, you should already have a very good (though perhaps still developing) sense of how maps are laid out, and where windows and pallets will be.

Of course where WoO get powerful is that it will prevent you from moving into an area where resources have already been used, and you wouldn't otherwise have known. This is obviously most useful in solo, since in SWF this would likely have already have been communicated.

WoO allows the player to have to think less, and not to have to track resources as much. To simply react and not to plan/strategize. The downside to this is, of course, that if you rely on it, you may really suffer without it. The goal should be to learn the maps/tiles so you don't need a perk like WoO, and you can use that perk slot for something else.

So yeah, for many players it is a total crutch.

My advice to players using WoO who aren't beginners is to stop.

  • The new Red Forest is beautiful and immersive, but sucks to play on. I would argue new Haddonfield is the same.

Unfortunately making immersive maps often precludes them from being balanced, and vice versa.

Except BHVR encourages competitive play such as endorsing tourneys and implementing MMR

You may think DBD players shouldn’t be competitive, but some people at BHVR clearly don’t share your opinion and these people develop DBD

That's the tail wagging the dog, I'm afraid. People wanted to make it competitive, and to be as inclusive as possible ($$$), BHVR panders to those sort. That does not mean DBD was originally intended to be a comp game, because it clearly was not.

You can't blame them for trying to make money, but DBD just isn't a game that lends itself to balanced comp play, in any way, really. Imbalance is woven into its core genetics.

Look at TCM; the devs have come right out and said comp isn't what they had in mind nor want for the game, but people are forcing the issue, and when the playerbase starts to slip (and it will sooner than later), they'll probably start throwing bones to the sweatlords.

  • People playing any kind of game would prefer to win. This is something as old as humanity and isn't going to change.

But having some awareness of the game you are playing and not allowing winning v. losing to define your experience is vital to enjoyment. Especially in a game not designed in a way where outcomes or clear, or really to support intense competition.

One thing I hear a lot is "I wouldn't care as much if killers/survs/whoever weren't so..." - this is BS rationalization. If how someone else plays the game dictates your values, that's a you problem, and blaming others is a cop out.

I am someone who in my younger years had a reputation for being so ruthlessly competitive, even in things I wasn't great at, that my own friends wouldn't play games with me. I wasn't a poor sportsman, I didn't taunt or gloat, I just engaged in anything remotely competitive with intensity, and I didn't play anything casually. I was not fun to play with.

One of my points of greatest personal growth is letting much of that go, because it led me to have a miserable time doing things I should have loved. DBD is a great example of this; it's simply a game so ill-suited to equivalent, balanced competition that putting a premium on "winning" turns fun into misery, for one side or the other, and often both.

Don't get me wrong, I do not want to lose at anything and there are still arenas where I am intensely competitive, but it just doesn't make sense in this game, if you want to really enjoy it. I have the most fun playing DBD when I don't allow myself to get heavily invested in the outcome.

I just wish more people were more selective about where they indulged their competitive bloodlust, because DBD isn't a great place for it.

  • I'm largely fine with the changes made to Xeno, but I will also say I've had a bunch of egregious missed should-have-been-hits tail attacks the past couple of days. I don't have saved video, but really bad.

It seems like the hitbox got smaller or collision with objects has gone really wonky.

  • People who like to slug for the 4k will continue, people who don't probably won't suddenly start. It might make some people chance it sometimes, but I seriously doubt we're gonna see a giant spike in slugging for 4K.

Yeah, I got it and had to play like a selfish dick to do it. I got some saves, but everything was calculated and I basically avoided the killer all match. Wasn't quick, easy or fun.

The malicious one was easy in comparison: just wreck fools, have no mercy

Wesker getting out of the map with survivors on RPD isn't gamebreaking?

As for 3 gen sally I had 4 in a row last week. It was not fun.

I get like 2-3 SMs a week, maybe (thank god).

And like 99.9% of the community, killer and surv, agree that she is an absolute travesty. Thus the relative rush to a rework for her.

And again, the point you seem to be glossing over is that the locker exploit was breaking pretty much every game before flashlights were killswitched.

    Really, there's no comparison.

And the reason that exploits like this are usually worse than killer exploits is that in most cases, killer exploits are limited to one killer, or occasionally a killer perk.

This bug could be exploited by any surv on any map at any time, with just a common item. It's really one of the worst ever. Certainly the worst exploit I've seen in my ~4 years with the game, and there have been some doozies.

  • Apparently there is a test of some sort going on (but only for random players) where prestige icons in the lobby have been disabled. Apparently I am one, because I haven't seen anyone's prestige pre-game, killer or surv, since Xeno dropped.

I'm not actually sure I like it, thought I though I would have.

Not sure what can be gleaned from such a test, unless they're limiting the matchmaking to only those in the test group, and my queue times have been normal.

Players with legacy skins that could only have been earned way back, so you know they've been around a long time and are probably pretty good.

  • @Crowman said:

Survivor entitlement really is through the roof. Really wonder why some survivors even play if they think the game is so unwinnable outside of using an exploit.

It's just human behavior, at least for sad people.

"Part of me knows X behavior is wrong, but I really want to do it, so I'll justify it with Y"

And variable Y can be whatever straw they can grasp at.

We're all tempted to engage in that nonsense isht from time to time, it's just that most of us won't.

  • @antag0nisticw0mble said:

Wesker can still get survivors out of the map if the get the timing right on RPD and leave them slugged out there.

    Xeno can block unhooks.

Demo can jump into tress and abuse high objects for distance.

Oh yea and wesker still pulls you back to his side of the pallet/window. The thing that was supposed to be fixed. But survivors have a bug. Nope nope we have to kill it right away. Killer community loses it's mind.

You see one of these every once in a great while. The locker exploit was every single game, all day long. Every map, all the time, and like two killers can/could do anything about it.

You should go be ashamed of yourself for trying to even make such a laughable false equivalency. Ridiculous.

  • I have two:

Onryo, because I am an old school JHorror superfan, and her aesthetic/audio design are excellent. Her kit isn't where I would like it to be, but I am encouraged that she got a rework.

Xenomorph, because I am also a big time sci-fi horror fan, and Xeno terrified me as a kid. Being able to play as Xeno is a trip.

It should be said that I have a spot (perhaps the top one) reserved for Jason Voorhees, should that ever come to fruition.

  • It's a horrible idea, and I don't think it requires more elaboration.

Yes, in terms of common sense, you'd think it would force a drop, but it'd also turn the surv into a crispy critter, so what seems sensible probably shouldn't apply here. I mean realism isn't the name of the game here.

Unless you add a mechanic where Xeno can use the turret to mori the carried surv. Like as soon as the turret starts up, the killer gets a very hard skill check; if they fail, they drop the surv, if they hit it, you get a barbeque mini-mori. Could be fun.

Nope. But my job is to repair Gens. Not helping the Killer to get a exploiter so that I can be killed next.

If there's a cheater on your team, does escaping/winning mean anything? I say it doesn't. For me at least, having a cheater in the match invalidates the whole thing, and I want the cheater to pay for their behavior.

Beyond that, the best way to discourage the exploitation of bugs/cheating is for their peers/teammates on their own side to punish it. This is true in games and in life.

I'm probably not going to follow a cheater all around the map to force them out every time, but if I see someone doing it, I'll do it every time.

  • @Elik said:

I like my characters having shoes and isnt that some kind of fighting gear why wouldnt he have shoes??

These are the real problems in this game lol

It's hardly the only barefoot killer/skin. Famously most of the female killers are barefoot, Myers hospital gown skin is barefoot, Wraith is barefoot.

Oni is a demon after all, I don't think shoes are a huge concern. Maybe he just wants to chill.

  • @GannTM said:

I wish I had the time to get that 😭

I wish I had that much free time to do anything...

  • I have always tried to make the lives of cheater/exploiters harder in game, even if it means I got sacrificed as a result. But more often than not, the killer has treated me well for doing the right thing, and as a killer I always try to reward survs not going along with cheaters/exploiters, and punish those who do to the degree that I can.

It really benefits the entire community when players don't co-sign other's BS. Just going along with teammates who are up to dirty business just contributes to the generalizations that already plague the community.

One of the games last night is a good example: a Claudette was about to go down in my first chase of the game, and she glitched into a locker and wouldn't come out. I just threw down anchor in front of the locker and was totally prepared to throw the entire game and let the other three go to make sure she didn't make it out, but they all tried to help her (and liberally utilized the exploit themselves in the process).

And because they were bad (as cheaters/exploiters often are), I managed to kill a couple more of them.

  • Honestly, doesn't really make much difference to me. I never use them as a surv as they are weak, and as a killer they are so easy to counter maybe 1 in 50 flashlight save attempts actually work, so I don't really care.

Plus, survs waste so much time following each other around waiting for a save chance they'll either blow or not even really get because the killer isn't stupid.

If you perma-killswitched flashlights, survs would just start running more powerful items and wasting less of their time, so no, I don't agree with OP.

I don't see a difference in parking yourself 20 feet away instead of 5.

If you played much killer, you'd know there is a large difference between proxy camping and facecamping. One allows a reasonable opportunity for a successful unhook while the other does not.

And you can't be a successful killer without at least occasionally proxy camping. You can be a great killer and never facecamp.

Also, trying to punish proxy camping would be nearly impossible without creating massive opportunity for survivors to massively abuse the mechanic. You simply can't compel the killer to leave the entire vicinity of a hooked survivor and expect them to be able to win against any competent survivors.

Yeah but you are asking your opponent to trade one inconvenience for another. "Just play another match for the adept rather than try for it in this match." Maybe you can excuse them if they have been hunting for a long time but you have no idea and simply want them to make that trade for your personal convenience.

Why, because I don't want to lay here.

You are right at that point you have already won but there is nothing wrong with going for the 4k, because it's the goal of the game after all. Calling people pathetic because they want to get the max goal, achievement or otherwise is just... well... an example of toxicity.

"Going for the max goal" is fine, but there is a spectrum of the lengths one will go to in order to achieve it. The near desperation for the 4K in situations like we're discussing is not terribly becoming for the player.

Sportsmanship is a thing, and simply because something is technically allowed does not mean it is justified. Hard tunneling or camping are in the same realm of being allowed but generally frowned upon. Skull Merchant players dragging a game out for 60 minutes to guarantee a 4K is the same on balance as a killer slugging a surv for minutes to find a hiding survivor is no better if you're looking at them both as "going for the max goal".

But none of these strats are being practiced in a vacuum, and decorum has value. DBD isn't a game of chess, it's an unbalanced party game where player experience matters.

I think it's pathetic behavior, yes. I think it's (or should be) beneath most people. That's not a legal judgment or condemnation, just my opinion. I'm not forcing it on people, just expressing it on a forum.

If you can down 1 guy, look over and see the scratch marks of his retreating teammate... sure, go for it. If you CANT, hook the guy and start the hatch game. That 99.9999% gen doesn't matter at that point. The last guy isn't going to finish it and give away his position if he has no more teammates.

Yeah, once you're down to tow survs and one is down, the last one standing isn't going to be found on a gen unless they're a total potato. 99% of the time, once that second to last surv is on the ground, the last surv up is going to cease objectives and play for the hatch. And if the last surv is simply trying not to be found, they almost certainly won't be.

So what you'll end up with most likely is one surv unnecessarily bled out and a hatch game will ensue, same as if the surv had been hooked. Only difference is needlessly wasted time.

  • @Melinko said:

I'd like to see the Devs change the way the game ends on a bleedout.

The killer is supposed to sacrifice the survivors to the entity, hence why you need a special item or situation to actual kill a survivor. Letting them bleed out is a failure of that objective as they die and have not been sacrificed.

Perhaps an animation of them turning into an angel and escaping the trial that way and reward with escape like bloodpoints. When the bleedout option hurts the killer side and helps the survivor side, there would be no more slugging and that would be healthy for the game.

One would think that the Entity would really view bleedouts as a waste and punish rather than reward the killer for them.

What if the killer is going for their adept? Or is doing one of the archives that requires a 4k?

Then go for it in the next. I have played a lot of killer (as much or more than surv) and have chased many adepts and countless tome challenges, but you have to draw a line somewhere. Well don't have to, but if you're gonna leave someone on the ground potentially for minutes to go on a wild goose chase, that is a line I won't cross. It's just really poor form, imo.

4Ks aren't terribly hard to come by, really, and not every game needs to be a 4K. Not every scenario where only one surv is up is opportunity that simply can't be passed up. 4Ks aren't currency.

Everyone has their own sensibilities, but I actively resent players who play like every 4K adds a year to their life or something. In a game with no real ranking system or substantial tangible reward, it's just kind of pathetic.

I can maybe excuse it if someone is chasing a really elusive adept they've been chasing for a long time (like if they've decided to try to get it when that killer is already at high MMR, which frankly is a result of poor planning), but that's about it.

99.9% of the time, if you have two survs left and one is on the ground but you don't know where the other is, hook the one and take your chances with the hatch game. By most definitions you've already "won", and the odds are still in your favor to get that last surv.

  • @awustzdn said:

Current hatch is way, way more fair than old hatch. Old hatch was so unfair that people used to dodge keys.

Or tunnel the keyholder out of the game.

Which was on my very short list of understandable reasons to tunnel.

The old hatch/key mechanic was the worst.

  • @Hanuka5 said:

When i play and I down the last 2 survivors, nearly allways they try to hide and slug themself for 4 minutes instead of just staying where they are and let me hook em.

If the survivors voluntarily slug themselves to death, how bad can it be?

A lot depends on context, but often times what you're describing is a "if you're gonna waste my time, I'm gonna waste yours" mentality from the slugged surv.

It's one thing if you down the next to last survivor and the last one is right there to chase, but if the killer downs you and then scours the entire map for minutes because they are thirsty for that 4K, it becomes kind of an FU situation.

I usually won't move, but if I know the other surv is no where near and the killer goes off on an expedition to find them, I will often just crawl to the most well hidden spot I can find and then go get a snack or something.

Why? Because slugging for the 4K like that is lame as hell.

  • @Yatol said:

Its possible but usually its related to mindset

Yeah, for me, I play the game pretty casually and don't really think too hard about anything while I am in game (unless I am feeling particularly spicy).

One of the frustrating things is that SBMM doesn't differentiate between casual players and sweatlords (or 250 hour survs and 2500 hour killers), which can be lead to uneven and demoralizing experiences for players relatively new to the game.

But really, it'll come with time. Studying the game can really speed things up, though. Players in DBD are really all creatures of habit, and once you learn to predict what they are going to do (again, just takes time) a person can perform at least decently essentially on autopilot. DBD isn't particularly mechanically demanding, it's like 95% learned game sense.

So for OP, if you put time into the studying these things, you will get better.

  • DBD is a weird game, and while 250 hours is enough time to master many games, it's just getting your feet wet in DBD.

That said, if you're struggling with looping, there are tons of great videos from great players out there to help. I've got 1500+ hours in surv (3000+ hours total), and tbh my looping game is pretty mid, though still improving.

That’s fair but I guess I thought there were more survivor mains than killer mains. Doesn’t seem to bear out much though.

There definitely are more survs than killers (there as to be given the 4v1 format), but people who play both sides aren't going to stop playing killer for a while to try the new survivor skin in the same numbers they will stop playing surv for a while to play the new killer, because excepting recent killers like Knight and SM, they are almost always unique to some degree.

And while Ripley has unique perks, none of them scream out "must have". Xeno is the main attraction here, make no mistake, and this is coming from someone who will almost certainly P100 Ripley.

Once people are done with their Xeno fling, things will normalize, as they always do. I just think this is just part of the rhythm of DBD.

  • @Ayodam said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3536783#Comment_3536783

This seems reasonable but I wonder why people aren’t as excited to play Ripley. She’s just as iconic as the xenomorph. And she does come with unique perks.

She is iconic, but at the end of the day she is still just a skin, essentially.

I've been playing mostly surv because of the bonus so I can get both her and Xeno to P3 as quickly as possible, and Ripley will be a permanent fixture in my surv rotation, but functionally she's still the same as the other survs. Plus you can just earn your BP with Xeno and use them on Ripley.

The killer is always going to be the real shiny new toy of any full chapter.

  • Well I think solo queue right at this moment is as bad as ever because many of the better players are playing as the new popular killer (the best players always play both sides, and this is also part of the reason why the bonus has been stuck on surv since Xeno dropped), and because the playerbase is being flooded by people who don't often play or may have started playing because of this chapter.

IIRC, every time a really hyped/popular killer has dropped there has been a talent drain from the surv side to the killer side for a short while.

That said, my solo queue teammates the past week plus have been as bad as I can ever remember. I think this is having as much do do with people's angst over Xeno as the killer itself.

I do not however feel like this is because survivor has been nerfed too much. I think in terms of overall game design, DBD is as balanced as it has ever been (not nearly as much as it could be, though).

  • Too much of anything gets really old. And for anyone who wasn't around when Wesker dropped, this Xeno saturation right now pales in comparison.

Facing the same killer repeatedly just isn't fun. You always see it after a release, but Wesker had a ton of carryover.

  • @Smoe said:

I'll take any form of currency over cosmetics as rewards.

And that's fine, but to please as many people as possible, the value should be near equivalent as reasonably possible.

I'd suggest the reward should be one of the following:

    1. Unique outfit
    2. 21K Shards
    3. 1000 auric cells
    4. 16M BP

Some of those numbers might seem really high, but in terms of value (as a function of time, which is the only currency that really matters), all are pretty close to equal.

And the fact that those numbers seem so high is a reflection of two things: how much of a joke 400K BP is, and how obscenely overpriced cosmetics are.

  • @Seraphor said:

Even as little as 5000 shards would be good enough, at least that requires about 20 games worth of play time.

True, 5000 shards would be much better than 400K BP, but still far less than the value we were getting from Prime Rewards before.

Think of it this way; your average outfit costs 21K shards in the shop. You get about 25K shards per 100 levels, which takes about 80 hours. Iri shards are one of those things you earn so passively, you don't really think about how long it actually takes.

So what, about 65-70 hours for an outfit's worth of shards. Heck, even for the 5K shards you're looking at about 15 hours of gameplay.

So let's say you're just taking it easy and earning about 20K BP per match. I always play whichever role has the bonus, which is almost always 100%. So about 250K BP per hour, playing casually. That's pretty conservative.

So for the 16 hours it would take you to earn 5K shards, you'd have almost four million BP. If you run those numbers for the equivalent outfit cost, you'd be looking at about 16 million BP, conservatively.

And since the precedent was set as an outfit for the prime reward, I'd argue the appropriate minimum equivalent value should be, well, a whole hell of a lot more than 400K BP, which is about 2.5% of the value of an outfit, or 7.5% the value of one piece of an outfit.

So yeah, 400K BP is an absolute joke.

EDIT: I referenced this vid for my time to iri shards math:

EDIT 2: Corrected my misplaced decimal points

  • No.

I'll take my chances at escape versus Xeno over Nurse or Blight, every single time.

And personally, I'd still have another 2-3 killers I'd hate facing more.

The panic here with some people is out of control.

  • @FilthyLegionRevival said:

At least give us like 5000 shards a month with that little bp, damn.

If the previous standard for the monthly Prime Reward was an outfit, I'd argue for 21K Iri shards, which is about how much a basic outfit costs.

I'd be happy with that, honestly. Much more than a pittance of BP.

  • @Aurelle said:

I mean, I appreciate free BP because earning BP in game, especially as survivor, is an absolute slog. But on the other hand, the prime reward should be better. 400,000 BP is basically nothing.

Yeah, it's a pittance. In the current economy, anything less than a million BP isn't even worth mentioning. I'd argue 2 million would be a totally fair number for the monthly reward.

Especially given that cosmetic rewards, which were common up until recently, have a much higher equivalent value than 400K BP.

With the incentive, you can earn 400K BP in an hour; it's like tipping your server a couple dollars.

BHVR's internal calculus on the relative value of BP vs. Iri Shards vs. Auric Cells has always been really screwy, and BP rewards have always been laughably light relatively speaking.

Is it realistic I haven't gone against a single survivor who doesn't use turrets properly? Can you explain what the proper use for turrets are? As far as I can see there isn't much complexity but to grab and set them up. The only factor relevant is where you place them. Most survivors I went against place them around gens or close to my tunnels.

Because when using a new killer your MMR is low for them, yes it's realistic that many of them are bad.

If there is a problem, and it's a small one, is that a couple of Xeno's add ons really reduce the effect of the turrets and likely need a tweak.

  • A lot of games are good and fun regardless of the outcome. Though part of me feels like it loses its meaning quite a bit if the game was contentious or non-competitive. Saying GG after you just dominated someone might feel condescending to many, but I suppose it also serves as a gesture of sportsmanship for a game at least fairly played.

I think people who always interpret being told GG after a loss as an insult have an insecurity problem, though.

What do you mean? I’m saying the guy crying about the killer week 1 is probably not good at the game.

I was quoting you to say the same thing, rather than say it myself.

I have a higher escape rate than the people I play with, so that doesn't track. My escape rate has always been higher than the kill rate. Meaning I escape more on average than the people I get placed with. I do not run hatch or hide builds. AND I am the person who is more likely to trade in the end game to help someone else escape.

Also I am almost always in place 1 or 2 for points earned in the match.

Lets assume that's true, it would still not matter if you haven't been able to adjust to this killer. Numbers compiled more randomly and in greater quantities certainly seem to indicate that Xeno isn't the problem at large as it has been in your games.

And it bears repeating that we're nowhere near the point where we can pass judgment on how good or not good this killer is, or is going to be long term. People are still figuring them out.

Except for you apparently, who has deemed Xeno to be the grim reaper.

I keep statistics. She has a 75-80% kill rate. I don't count games where a survivor DCs or gives up.

You keep statistics from your games, in which you are the constant. As opposed to compiled stats across many games from different sets of players.

Not to be a jerk, but

Seriously, you're really giving off the impression of someone who just can't cope with the killer and needs it to be a fault in the killer's design and not your gameplay.

As with all killers, it'll be weeks before we get a crystalized sense of how good this killer is.

    Basekit Sadako is fine imo.

Iri Tape and Mother's Comb are clearly problematic. Mother's Comb provides too much information, and Iri Tape just removes her main counter. I have not seen a single Sadako with these add-ons lose.

As a frequent Onryo player who tested this, I can say you are right on here. I play Onryo without these add ons and don't really try to condemn everyone, but I might TP a bit more now than before the changes (and if it happens I'll happily give you the eyeball). Playing Sadako "normally" is work, and she's middling at best.

But when running the Iri tape/Mother's comb combo, the survivor counterplay falls apart under sustained pressure. Every time I ran that combo and really tried to apply pressure and condemn, I absolutely rinsed every team I faced (a small sample of ~10 games). And a few of them were clearly SWFs that did exactly what they should have done, or tried to anyway.

Grabbing that tape is the right move, but hurts more than anything if I know when and where you grabbed it.

As you say, it's just too much info, and combined with the iri tape makes getting that tape you picked up to the one TV you can use (usually on the opposite side of the map) no mean feat. And if she's running multiple aura reading perks on top of everything? Yikes.

If your team is super coordinated (and on comms) versus a good Onryo player running these add ons and actively trying to condemn everyone, you'll likely be fine. Maybe, if RNG is on your side.

    If not? Good freaking luck.

All that said, I'd play against these all day rather than even a game or two against SM. Skull Merchant may be the worst thing BHVR has ever done.

They would get a cut though. If I have to repurchase the Halloween chapter on playstation, sony will profit. I just want my progress to be transferred. I'm willing to buy the game and DLC twice, but I'm not going to lose my progress.

Well you're a rare bird then, because most people (at least long term players) aren't going to be willing to re-purchase everything, beyond the core game. As much as I would love to switch to PC, there's no way I'm paying for all that DLC and all those cosmetics again. Not to mention all the earned cosmetics and limited time stuff I've earned over the years I'd never be able to get again.

Obviously the progress itself is most important, but it's only part of the reason I won't just ditch my PSN account for Steam.

I'm really sick of playing on Nintendo Switch. What if players were willing to have their accounts transferred using their Cloud ID?

I would be willing to repurchase every DLC, but I just want to keep all my progress.

Is this possible? If not, I think the devs should level with the Switch players. We need to know if you have any plans, at all, to make this a better experience before we purchase more Auric Cells, DLC, etc.

I think the same reasons why cross progression isn't a thing yet would keep account switching from happening: the platform store you're switching to isn't going to get a cut of the money you've already spent on it. So essentially their losing on sales, and giving you a bunch of content you paid someone else for.

Of course the logical counterargument is that they'd also get future sales from you they wouldn't otherwise get (and of course you'd have to purchase the game as well), but that's not guaranteed, and modern businesses are myopically fixated on short term/immediate profit margins.

How can you be adept at something you haven't used? And how does that type of mentality make you better with said tools?

    ?

Going for the adept trophy/achievement will never be easier than right when the killer drops, at least if you have a lot of time in game, because your MMR for that killer is likely as low as it's ever going to be.

So logically, if you just want to get it out of the way, playing mercilessly right from the start is the way to go.

I'm not saying it'll make you better (clearly not), just that if you're trying the get the adept asap, that's your best bet.

Everybody tunnels on new killers because they aren’t confident with the power. Then people continue to tunnel because it the META.

Plus initially a lot of people are going for the adept and don't want to take any chances. I won't do that, but I've thought about it.

To be fair, Xenomorphs power is pretty forgiving. Huntress has to reload if she misses too often and is 4,4m/s, while Xenomorph is 4,6m/s and does not need to reload.

It's also fickle as hell. It's almost like the hitbox is amorphous sometimes; strikes that hit but shouldn't, strikes that don't hit that should, and everything in between.

I haven't played a ton of Xeno yet, but it would say it takes a good bit of skill. And as a surv, I've played against many Xenos that couldn't seem to hit anything that wasn't running in a straight line (and sometimes not even then), so clearly it isn't zero skill. A Huntress hatchet is much more forgiving and predictable. You also can't knock Huntress out of hatchet throwing mode for a prolonged duration like you can with Xeno and runner/crawler mode.

Most Xenos spend a decent amount of the match with no power.

Otoh, I was bodyblocking on an exit gate run and the tail attack passed straight through me and hit the surv I was blocking for, which was eyebrow raising, but also illustrates how weird the power is.

But this happens almost every time a new killer comes out; some people (who probably did the PTB) are immediately good with the new killer while some survs haven't learned the counterplay, which then equates to them as the killer being "OP" or "no skill".
