  • I know, right? As a console player, it almost always lags. Pretty annoying. I have to try and hype myself up before the pick up so I am ready for the stutter too. Lol.

  • Just keep playing. The grade system is based on time played, not performance, you are mistaken.

Isn't this scenario fundamentally the same thing as being on a hook?

No, because a survivor cannot get the blocked survivor out. Any survivor can unhook anyone under basically any circumstance besides being injured or unhooking unsafely against an instant down killer.

It doesn't stop me though. If I am on a kill the obsession challenge and you get body blocked while I have rancor, good luck. Pray your teammates do not troll you harder than I did.

Thats not the issue. On top of that being unnecessary, and boring, the issue is how consistently ive been getting people who aren't playing right.

Get to a higher mmr where killers actually kill people? That would likely solve your problem, fam.

  • Ha ha ha... They were actually mad about it? Wow... if you are wrong, I do not want to be right, baby. I guess I am glad you showed them what's good. Get wrecked, baby survivors (that I respect and who are incredibly kind and skilled at the game).

  • I only played survivor to get Sadako p3 day one, and it burned me out so badly that I had to take a break from DBD, you can bet once I return it will be as a killer. Survivor is just not for me. It is fun on occasion, but too much of it and you will go insane.

  • Lightborn is my lord and savior. Praise the holy light that protects me from very intelligent and skilled survivor mains that I respect.

My favorite survivor perk is Quick and Quiet. It is my crutch perk. When you suck at survivor, sometimes this is all you need to escape.

  • I do not mind playing against him in solo queue. I find it quite fun as I have something to do other than gens.

When was Ghost Face nerfed? From PTB? I genuinely don’t remember. OG Legion was busted, you have to have blinders on to not agree with that.

And I appreciate you taking the time to address the alleged buffs to the survivor meta perks that never happened.

He is probably talking about when they buffed him, but nerfed his add ons. The recovery, specifically.

So? He was hilarious. Bring him back.

  • Sure? I prefer base kit buffs to add ons as I do not use add ons.

  • Probably Pinhead. You need to land the chain (which is like a Nurse blink anyway) for a circumstantial Clown slow and yet you have all of the limitations of an m1 that Billy, Blight, and Nurse can circumvent. He requires you to have specialized knowledge of his Lament Configuration spawns to take full advantage of it instead of enabling the survivors.

Beyond that, life is hard for people who go outside with bondage gear. Society just doesn't treat them the same.

EGC is still not for putting pressure on anyone

EGC is to make sure the game ends. You might be stuck there for two minutes because the survivors are too busy jerking each other off to leave but it's going to end in two minutes. EGC is doing the job it is designed to do.

I use EGC to pressure survivors. I will open the door myself to force them to come and save earlier instead of searching for le precious NOED. And obviously you run down the timer for Blood Warden. Might as well abuse it, in my opinion.

  • @I_CAME said:

They could have smurfed. I've noticed a lot of afk killers lately who are presumably tanking their MMR. Even an average nurse can wipe the floor with average survivors.

Why use the ward protection or full slowdown if you are smurfing? You could instead just go perkless and add on-less and offering-less and gotten the same result.

  • The pip system is just based on time played, ask any developer or content creator and they will tell you. Just play longer and you will pip.

Hey, let’s not go around lying to our returning friend and others yeah? The newest survivor meta perk is Boon: Circle of Healing, due for its second nerf next week. Ghost Face and Legion are both getting base kit buffs and add on changes in the same update.

Word is the newly remastered Haddonfield map is now killer sided as well, though I can’t speak from personal knowledge on that one. And it’s been disabled until release with the above patch.

Edit: So to be clear, no existing survivor meta perks have been buffed. The newest one has been nerfed, and is getting nerfed again. Additionally, the devs have stated they are looking into changing Dead Hard, another meta survivor perk. Though it’s unclear when and how.

If Haddonfield is a killer sided map by my definition, I will become a survivor main. That is how confident I am that the map will be the same as literally every other map in the game. There was only ever one map that was truly killer sided and they deleted it instead of reskinning it. What a coincidence!

  • I actually vaguely agree. Why did they nerf boil over? I mean, I know why, but as a console player, I feel the problem was a bit overstated, and even if not, why wasn't it given a compensation buff? Very strange.

  • Or what about... 3 Zombies with even worse AI? I want more zombies...

  • @Tricksters_Wife said:

I agree it's pretty bad but in a different way than most games. I don't get toxicity often, but when I do it's pretty nasty homophobia, sexism, and degrading language. Sometimes it's so ridiculous that it becomes a lot easier to troll them and get a laugh out of it.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/882STUVI9WAJ/img-20220306-190900-094-7e3.jpg

DBD people are a lot less likely to get under my skin for real versus other games like LoL or Overwatch. But still bad nonetheless. I would def suggest trolling any toxicity that comes your way to lighten the situation for yourself.

The Overwatch one bothers me so much because we are teammates and you supposedly want to win... So why are you trying to trigger your own carry? It is so utterly nonsensical.

Maybe I will try your degrade kink suggestion to see if they bite. Rawr.

  • I guess they do not want people grinding for rank. I would love to flex my Bubba on all of these people who play him at low mmr and pretend he is the easiest killer in the game.

  • The only killers who need to be one tricked to get value are basically Hillbilly, Nurse, or Blight. Maybe Pinhead. Like, the rest of the roster should be playable as long as you good at any one given killer. I guess ranged killers kind of have their own curve and Spirit requires some Turtle Beach plus headset, but I wouldn't say you need to one trick any of them to get results. I am horrible at Spirit and can still crush average survivors. I am partially deaf too, by the way. Too much maximum volume metal as a youngin.

M1 are supposed to get disgraced by pallets. That is not your fault. It is just how the game is designed.

  • @Marc_123 said:

I break them. Probably not the best idea but when i see streamers mind game for some time and i doesn´t work i think it is faster to break it immediately.

If the game takes some time it helps later on.

I try a quick mind game to see if they bite, if not, I just break. If they look sketchy, I will keep playing the pallet. It works the vast majority of the time. I have only been screwed by it a handful of times as opposed to all of my free downs.

i will not happy until I get my RE5 Jill skin😄

Resident Evil 5 Jill is just a cross faded Samus. I digress, would love the skin.

  • Nah. I do both, my opinion on balance is more well rounded than someone who only does one or the other. You think I am going to go high mmr on an m1? Hell no. I already did with Freddy and it gave me depression. I also play my Bubby Boi at high mmr, so I know the struggle. I know what good survivors are capable of. And I see what you are saying too, there are people who play against potato and act like the game is fair because of it. Conversely, because I play at high mmr too, I know a lot of complaints are exaggerated. Survivors, even at high mmr, will throw the game in the name of altruism. That's facts.

Reality is they cannot balance the game for everyone. The game is absolutely killer sided at lower levels, relatively balanced at mid tiers, and unequivocally survivor sided at high levels. Like it or not, this spread IS balance. They know it which is why they maintain it. That is why most survivor nerfs are specifically to bully squads and killer buffs are mostly placebo. They just want the experience to feel better in hopes that people complain less. I think that they did a pretty good job. They let us keep Nurse, they let us keep facecamping Bubba. If you want to play your killer that is not viable at high mmr, you need to play them at a lower mmr. End of story. Pick a viable killer if you want to compete.

    I feel you.

I am always trying to play nice most of the time but when you get 0-1 kill and let people unhook themselfs when exits are powered and then get tbagged, etc. Not fun.

But also when I turn on the "tryhard" mode and don't care about others and I feel dirty, not fun, frustraited even when I get 4K.

I personally recommend not worrying about the dunks. If that is the only reason you are not having fun, it is an easy problem to solve. Well, I make it sound so simple, but really, you just need to not care. For all you know, they could be friendly bags because you let them go and they appreciate it? You never know.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/319859/wowzers-some-people-still-surprise-me

People who say things like that tend to be sad people who are too toxic to have real friends. Usually, their circle of 'friends' is a group of toxic people who always try to hurt the others in the group so they can feel better about their bitter, empty lives.

Since they tend to be the ragdoll of their 'friend' group; they take their vile personalities online, where no one can easily punish them for the sewage that dribbles from their mouths.

And for bonus irony: They are usually the ones who believe 'It's not my fault if you get offended' when they say offensive things or 'Everyone is a snowflake' if they get punished for their very anti-social behavior.

They frequently demand that people should be allowed to say anything they want with no fear of reprisal, as they are very much aware that they are horrible people who would get punished by anyone with a shred of decency.

The best thing to do is just laugh it off and walk away. When they don't get the outrage of offended reactions they desperately crave; they just get more angry as the gnawing void of their lives becomes louder. 😁

Offense can only be taken, to be honest, however, you are not far off the mark, I have had to reform myself as I was too vulgar to survivor mains. I hurt them and take full responsibility for my harsh words. They are good at the video game, my mistake.

As you can see, people like me can learn! We can grow! We can change! I love survivors, and I never would have come to realize this if I was not punished for my thought crimes.

  • As a console player, I promise you, the killers definitely hit me over pallets ans stuff. Don't worry about it.

  • @Pulsar said:

That is the vicious cycle of DBD.

People play nice, get ######### on for it and then stomp some players playing nice, who then do the same to other people.

Nerf the meta on both sides.

If you nerf both sides, the change is negligible, no? I mean, overall, cherrypicking hated perks from both sides would be plausible, but I do not think it would change the cycle of hate, per se.

  • Eh, whenever logic is based on a fallacy, I become very skeptical about it. But honestly, it doesn't matter to me, I was never one to whine about mmr. And I didn't really complain about how rigged the game was for new players when I joined and got matched against red rank swfs either.

  • Nah, just make it better again, and fix hook spawns. Win-win.

  • @The_Grim_Reaper99 said:

I wouldn’t say it’s pay to win some of the best stuff is free like chili man said.

But it is pay to progress faster. Want bbq and chili? Well gotta pay 5 dollars to get it. Or what about the shrine of secrets? Well tuff luck it’s a 2 out of a mountain of perks chance for it to appear there. Even with free survivors/killers we gotta play like over 120 games to unlock a character and get them to level 30+. I’ve been calling out BHVRs crappy aggressive economy in Dbd for a while. Literally the game should be F2P.

Some of the best stuff is free, and some of the best stuff is paid. Objectively. Not even sure why this is a debate, people on here talk trash about the game and the devs, but when you say that it is pay to win, everyone dusts off their armor.

Speaking of which, can we get a Knight killer? Would be pog and apparently quite relatable.

  • I read your entire post, but honestly, the disagreement just stems for your definition of viable. The fact of the matter is the competitive scene literally proves certain killers are not viable. You can pretend the majority of killer players are trash all you want, but I am not sure how that changes reality or how you even vaguely expect you would change anyone's mind. The "have you considered you just suck" is not going to make someone who wrecks average survivors with whatever killer you think is the worst magically believe they can 4k survivors who make Nurse look like a chump.

The equivalent is just as silly, telling survivors they can solo queue into optimal killers with a garbage team and still win. Not likely, maybe you are the second coming of Christ when it comes to looping, but, as you pointed it out, this game is asymmetrical. The 1v1 is rigged against survivor. And the 4v1 is rigged against killer. Assuming equal skill, which is how you are supposed to discuss viability, by the way.

Okay I'll give my thoughts and the reason why in brackets:

    • Trapper smells like tar ("Tar Bottle" add-on) and leather ("Trapper Gloves", "Trapper Bag", and "Trapper Sack" add-ons).
    • Wraith smells like paint ("Swift Strikes" and "The Owl" cosmetics) and wax ("Wax Warlock" cosmetic).
    • Hilbilly smells like corn and smoky fumes from his chainsaw.
    • Nurse would smell of wood (not sure why lol) and ash (since she spends a lot of time in the now burned-down Crotus Prenn Asylum).
    • Huntress smells of rose tea ("Rose Root" add-on) and forest.
    • Shape definitely smells of dust and latex (I believe his mask is latex although I could be wrong?).
    • Hag smells of broccoli ("Exposed Floret" cosmetic) and swamp water.
    • Doctor smells acrid, like burning plastic or warm fish (overheating electrical components sometimes give off these smells).
    • Cannibal smells of spicy chili ("Award-Winning Chili" add-on) and grease ("The Grease" add-on).
    • Nightmare smells of propanone ("Paint Thinner" add-on) and cardboard (he just gives off cardboard vibes ngl).
    • I want to say bacon for The Pig but she'd probably smell more like decanoic acid (which smells rancid).
    • Clown probably smells of ethoxyethane ("Ether 15% Vol" add-on) and ammonium hydroxide ("Spirit of Hartshorn" add-on).
    • Spirit smells of bamboo ("Gifted Bamboo Comb" add-on) and cherry blossoms ("Dried Cherry Blossom" add-on).
    • Legion smells of dirt ("Cold Dirt" add-on) and angst.
    • Plague would absolutely stink of butanoic acid (which smells strongly of vomit).
    • Ghostface smells of masculine cologne ("Lasting Perfume" and "Cheap Cologne" add-ons).
    • Demogorgon probably smells like wet dog... I love Demo but I don't imagine he smells nice </3.
    • Oni would smell metallic (because he wears a lot of armor) and like wet rope (can't really explain this, I just get that vibe from him).
    • Deathslinger smells dusty and like whiskey ("Gold Creek Whisky" add-on).
    • I feel like Pyramid Head smells stony, like cold rocks, if that makes any sense?
    • Blight would smell of white lilies, but like REALLY strongly to the point of it being like musty and choking. The pollen gets absolutely EVERYWHERE and has a pretty overpowering smell IMO.
    • Twins would smell of stale bread ("Stale Biscuit" add-on) and sewer water.
    • Trickster <3 would smell of tequila ("Tequila Moonrock" add-on) and probably expensive cologne.
    • Nemesis would smell of internal organs ("Brian's Intestine" and "Zombie Heart" add-ons).
    • Cenobite probs smells like insects ("Lively Crickets" and "Wriggling Maggots" add-ons) and musty attics.
    • Artist smells of charcoal ("Charcoal Stick" add-on), ink ("Darkest Ink" add-on) and oil paints ("Oil Paints" add-on).
    • Sadako probs stinks of stagnant water and greasy hair...

Not to contradict you, but I believe Legion would smell like excessive Axe body spray and angst, not dirt. Like, I bet he does smell like dirt too, but you wouldn't be able to tell as you choked on the Axe, so it doesn't count...

  • The game is lowkey pay to win because Bubba isn't free. I had to buy him. And all of a sudden I started winning against players MUCH more skilled than I. Take that, my 5 dollars was worth more than your 5k hours. Gg ez, baby survivor.

  • We, as a species, need to learn that survivor mains and killer mains are all simply people, and we all love DBD. We are basically the same. Sure, some of us like to twerk, others enjoy nodding, sometimes we click, sometimes be leave people to bleed on the ground... But is that not the human experience? I do not want to live in a world where we can't beat people on hook or point at one another when we slam pallets into their skulls. We should show love and compassion to are friends regardless of their preferences.

The Zombies stop moving when they attack for some reason. A very dumb decision. The Zombies are the most worthless part of any Killer power in the game. Pigs RBT do more damage than Nemesis Zombies do. If the Killers goal was to stand as close to trees, walls, and all other inanimate objects for as long as possible in the match, Nemesis would be #1 because that's all his Zombies do....

Maybe your zombies are beta. But mine are alpha chad and often get multiple downs per match. Sorry you aren't feeding your zombies high quality brains, but I use my air fryer and, well, you see the difference.

  • @BenOfMilam said:

I definitely click and teabag killers that facecamp at 5 gens. You reap what you sow.

Oh no, not the clicks! Please, anything but the clicks. I have a family, Ben. I facecamp at 5 gens for them because I want their lives to be better than what I had to go through as a child.

  • @BenOfMilam said:

Been playing against a lot of survivors like that this morning. They're probably farming archives or something and throwing the match to get it done faster.

Is that not more likely when there is a new archive? I mean, I guess anything is possible, but realistically survivors always do this. Not that I am saying survivors are anything but God's gift to humanity.

  • The reason you had to say "now imagine" is because you know ain't no game going to do DBD as well as DBD while offering new game modes. I do agree that a GG EZ way of DBD to find some more success lies in new modes or expanding the lore in consumable ways.

  • @Lx_malice said:

Idk what everyone is smoking. All the other maps are even WORSE than what's being said about Macmillan here.

I'd take it thank you very much until I got the urge to play spooky myers that is.

Yes, but at least they aren't as ugly. I prefer to be on pretty maps if every map (besides the one they removed) is survivor sided to begin with. Why would I want the bland default one?

  • I used to play Overwatch, but DBD was largely my replacement for it as I was sick and tired of useless teammates and as killer, you do not need to worry about that, or long queues.

I am on a bit of a break and playing Genshin. That game is the opposite of this, however. We get waifu and they do not nerf everything every patch to cater to very respectable members of this community. No toxicity to entertain yourself with either...

  • @SMitchell8 said:

    Don't do gens

Just tea bag and goad the killer into going for you

Absolutely do not think about doing gens until the camped person is sacrificed ....... then attempt the gens.

This is the advice that would improve the survivor experience. If only they listened, they would understand the optimal strategy to get revenge on their camping killer and make them wish they never started eating smores and getting chocolate stuck in their chainsaw.

  • I use it to practice survivor. It makes the killer chase you so that you do not need to find them and click at them while praying they actually commit.

  • It is fine, killer is not for everyone. That is a great thing from my point of view. I came from Overwatch where dps queues were outrageous. I would have never played DBD if the killer queues were long because people actually liked it. That is the main reason I heavily support survivor buffs and advocate for killer nerfs, to be perfectly honest. The more miserable it is for the average Joe, the faster my queues are.

Why give leatherface an overheat mechanic to prevent him making it near impossible to get saves, when the devs themselves deem it acceptable?

Clearly they do not given it is now possible to save against Leatherface. Albeit, you basically need Borrowed and DS end game to have an actual chance of either survivor escaping.

I am surprised they respect his niche. For now, at least. However, allowing him to face camp is very different than literally making it impossible to save.

  • Please do not disrespect community members, this is against teh forum rulez.

  • Tunneling counters circle of healing, more or less. The best they can do is body block, heal, and body block again if they managed to loop you near the boon. I, personally, rarely run into that issue at high mmr as I play Leatherface. But I have seen other killers be forced to deal with it and it definitely seems frustrating.

Eat DS a$ap. Most survivors get really mad when they are tunneled and hit you with it at the first sign of a tunnel instead of saving it for the potential guranteed escape late game, but if you play around DS, you are just forcing them into an optimal situation instead of taking advantage of their emotional state.

You do not need full meta. Just NOED alone is stronger than what most people here believe the meta is.

And remember, mmr is different for all killers. No shame in playing a few bad killers very casually to have normal games every once and awhile. I would only take your best killer to the top and once you are there, 4k is not a win. You would be lucky to get 2 to be honest. But that is fine, because it will drop you until you 4k enough to start getting to the top level again.

  • @GannTM said:

What do you mean by rely on flashlights when they’re one of the weaker items?

That is the thing, flashlights are not one of the weaker items. So, yes, I often do run into users who are boosted because of how powerful flashlights are and Lightborn does disgrace them. It is actually one of the main reasons I believe the perk is top tier.

Exploiting a flashlight user (properly) is very efficient. In other words, not self consciously hovering over their body hoping someone over commits to a save or ignoring them completely (and praying they stay there instead of leaving once you gain momentum) when those are not optimal decisions, but something forced upon you.

Like, I can respect that some killers struggle with medkits because they refuse to tunnel, or toolboxes because they get triggered when 3 gens pop at their first down... But those items are... Copium. Denying a hook is way better. Just because MOST survivors are quite bad at flashlight does not mean the item is bad.

There are some really powerful guranteed escape from chase builds that completely fetter tunneling which is about as strong as you can get in solo queue and most of them rely on a blind at a pallet.

  • Well, I mean... I would slug a flashlight user too? It is nothing personal, I just do not like flashlights in the same way that you do not enjoy bleeding to death. What can we do though? I expect you to play the game the way you want to, and I will do the same.

  • If you want a skill based game, you need to play a 1v1 game such as a fighting game. Sorry, but playing against AI and getting carried by a team are not exactly competitive, unless you play in tournament, of course. I am not saying those games cannot be enjoyable, but if you have beef with DBD, moving over to Fortnite is not going to help, bruh.

I mean, BHVR could literally just fill empty matches up with bots if they genuinely wanted to prop numbers up, I don't get why you'd think they'd go through the trouble of adding bots to public matches to increase numbers, lol.

Beyond that, people actually want a bot mode. So if they went through all the effort to construct AI that are playable in-game, it would be pretty strange to not give people the option go participate in a highly requested mode.

Albeit, there are definitely bots in the game. But Behavior didn't design them.
