I'm having fun learning to play drunk nurse! I can probably play nurse better when drinking than sober now lol or at least that is what I tell myself.
-
I didn't know cheers, but I recognize the forum name. That just really sucks. RIP Cheers.

Gave her a try. She is very strong, but also very buggy. Often ended up stuck inside a hill or unable to teleport through things.
It also feels like people have had years to learn how to perfectly juke her while I'm just starting to learn. Got her to the level where I could use her teachables and that was it. Not my favorite killer, although I can see how strong she could be in the right hands.
I much prefer someone less erratic. Hag is likely my stand in for her when I want hyper-mobility and Doctor when I just get sick of stealthers.

Might I entice you to learn to play nurse if you are on PC? Learning nurse is an uphill battle, expect to lose, but it is so satisfying when your blinks are on point. There are still several OG nurses on the forums that have very good input.
Take a few days away from this game to reset. If you drink, pour yourself a drink, sit down, and get intimate with nurse LOL.
PS, your lady sounds amazing...any free time you have and she has should be spent together LOL ######### DBD or any other game!
Seriously, if both of you have free time, plan a picnic at a park an enjoy nature and food.

I honestly think people improve faster when they're matched with opponents close to their own skill level. It's true that you want to have a challenge, but it needs to be a challenge that you could possibly succeed at. If the challenge is so hard that you have no chance, the difficulty level is too high to learn very much.
I agree with this.
If I'm a noob at MMA and I go against Khabib Nurmagomedov, the only thing I'm going to learn is how to get the ######### kicked out of me

It's people trying to grow their channel. It'll be a normal game 90% of the time. People who don't stream have no idea how awful discoverability is on twitch. I can't imagine being insecure to the point that I'd go out of my way to make someone's gaming experience suffer because I might lose in front of 10 people.
I don't care about playing with streamers or losing to streamers, I just have my opinion on the TTV gamer tag in general for gaming.
Since we are going to make assumptions, I'll just leave this here...

Hey DBD, COD wants to hold your BEER....

I don't think I have ever seen a fog whisperer with TTV in their name...

I really don't mind playing vs TTV. If they are live then later I can go back and watch the vod from a Survivor's PoV and maybe learn something. One time I learned that the TTV was playing a super immersed Bill who did practically nothing all game and got super salty at the end despite basically throwing. Now he was right that I made several mistakes that match... but... if you think I didn't deserve the 4k despite getting the 4k even without really tunneling, camping, or slugging... maybe that means you made even more mistakes than I did.
Also... watching epic I'm All Ears plays from the Survivor PoV are funny as hell when you were the killer.
I don't want to contribute to their success.

As a killer? Most likely he's playing with another player or two but usually they're small time if they have TTV in their actual user name. My experience with them has been mostly on the easier side as they're usually just playing to kill time and chat. Occasionally you'll get a few asshats who feel empowered to rage together and echo-chamber themselves into a frenzy but usually not that bad.
If you're the solo queue surrounded surrounded by 3 TTV folks though - I can feel your pain. Usually you're their sandbag tool and the killer is more likely to bring some Moris... maybe even stream snipe whichever one isn't smart enough to put a 20~30second stream delay on and be obnoxious because they see "TTV"
I assumed the "TTV" wasn't the killer since you shouldn't be able to see their identity until post game without some "clever" file editing during the match
as a dbd player, i want to opt of of TTV matches.
-
I don't the the word toxic is being used correctly when dbd players use it, at least the majority.

Watching an interesting video Tofu made about a month ago about this sort of issue. And boy, did he nail it.
Essentially, killers are still expected to abide by an outdated code of honor, while survivors just...aren't.
If one side is going to do everything possible to win, why are killers expected not to do the same?
It would be wonderful if everyone cared more about having a fun game than winning - but that's just not the game at present. Whether it's SWF groups, smurfcomps, stompcomps, endless rounds of DS/DH/BT and at least one Blendette per game, survivors seem to want to have their cake and eat it too.
Frankly, why should I, as a killer, be expected to play by some ruleset when the other side isn't?
I enjoyed this video when I saw it. He provides a good explanation of how the code came to be. As dbd grew and grew, the code was kinda of lost.

I don't understand why this had to be a new thread... are you replying to someone in particular?
Also it's an "Assymetrical" game not sure if it's clear cut as 400% vs 100%.
It's more like 25%~30% per survivor and the last person has to do a minimum of 10% for a "fair game". While 4 competent players all running around at optimal 30% then it becomes favored to their side at the highest levels.
4 players want to 1 vs 1 the one player...
-
@OllieHellhunter said:
I mean yeah, isnt that the point of asymmetric pvp games as a whole, both sides should be different but have equal chance to win.
but players want to 1vs1...
-
This game is meant to be 1 survivor VS 3 Survivors VS 1 killer.
-
@BigBrainMegMain said:
Agreed. Solo is generally 1v1v1, I'm always against someone else doing something stupid. It's typically my braindead survivor solo queue teammates that run around in circles.
Is there any thing that says survivors should always work with each other or could it also be a game of cut throat?
-
@azame said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1634599#Comment_1634599
I mean I'm a strong survivor so 4 strong mes vs a killer me is obviously gonna win. I told you the survivor should have a chance to win a chase if they outplay the killer. If you like I said are fine with killers having no real 1v1 counter then be fine with swf splitting on gens.
so should the basic 4 survivors always escape the basic killer?
-
@azame said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1634590#Comment_1634590
Ohtofus killer is significantly better than his survivor for the record so hes taking the w. The point is with that mindset that you dont want survivors to be able to outplay killers in 1v1 encourages swf I'm just saying.
If 4v1 type killers become common swf will much more because you know lack of real 1v1 counter.
So in general, you want 4 azame's to be individualy as strong as the 1 azame they are VSing?
-
@azame said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1634582#Comment_1634582
So the better player winning is bad? Why do you think Billy was loved the better player wins the chase the problem with that is?
So 4 Ohtofu surivors each individually = 1 Ohtofu killer....that one Ohtofu killer is gonna get spanked 99 out of 100 times.
-
If the 4 are individually = to the 1 they are VSing, well guess who will win the majority of the time....

Stridor + Whispers + (Nurses Calling / or STBFL) + Spies from the shadows works well for me on Nurse. (in fact I can't do without Whispers)
Just P3'd Nurse and I've yet to get Whispers rank 1 again and I'm struggling for it. It's a really handy perk for her as you can waste a lot of time with such a low mobility killer if your in an area without Survivors. It's good to know on her if your barking up the right tree.
I'm running BBQ, nurses calling, spies from the shadows and tinkerer. None of them are at tier 3 yet. I may try whispers...but it's not at tier 3 either. I P1 her and am planning to P3 her just because.

I've got a solid handle on Survivor, but I'd really like to rank up and get reliable results as Killer. My main is Ghostface, and I either 4k or nothing at all. I use BBQ+Thrilling Tremors+I'm All Ears+Noed which is decent- so the issue here is Operator Error. I need to git good, lol
SO, I need training wheels, fam! What is a good Killer to learn basics on and improve? I have all dlc but tend to play Wraith or Doctor as alternates. Appreciate you and your advice!
Join me in learning Drunk Nurse Kung Fu Style LOL, just kidding. You can still learn sober nurse, we need more nurses.

See this is a big misconception about the nurse , you always want to try and blink where you last saw the survivor or right behind them , the most important thing to identify when playing nurse is, is the survivor a double backer or does he full send it in the direction he's running? Also choose your blinks wisely and let yourself recharge to 2 blinks it's very easy when starting out to get carried away and waste blinks when you haven't recovered yet
I'm gonna keep this in mind, I get spun once I lose LOS.

Nurse is the hardest killer to play. If you really want to get good at her you're just gonna need to keep practicing. And as for the red ranks with OoO as you claim that's just matchmaking being matchmaking.
Actually, last night I had matches that felt my speed. I didn't dominate nor did I feel like I was mismatched.
I'm also trying to learn nurse while drinking because why the F not LOL.
-
There is a challenge in the tome to kill all survivors in a trial by any means.
-
TTVers are trying to gain an audience, talking ######### about other players in a match might be a way to grow their audience, but i'm just guessing.
You are probably better off moving to the next match and not watch the video.

for like the 4 billionth time, survivors dont want killers nerfed they want them to be fun to verse, they would need to remove his lose lose scenerio and his tunnel potential and buff his mobility/map pressure to compensate
What is fun for survivors may not be fun for killers.

Welcome brother/sister to The Nurse Club! A lot of us have gone silent due to her nerf making her unfun and her still existent game breaking bugs!
Keep practicing, your pretty far but right around the corner from experiencing why Sally is the best killer in the game! I'm an old school nurse player/main and I learned her back when Plaid Flannel was a purple add-on. By the time I had first gotten that add-on I was already comfortable with my blink ranges!
But I do agree I hate the Plaid Flannel add-on and it pain's me to see other people recommend using that add-on simply because the add-on doesn't teach how to play nurse, instead it teaches player's range's and than they get confused on how to use Nurse because they are more focused on where their going to land instead where they need to blink!
Thank you. I'm happy to see there are still old school nurses around. I agree with your perspective on Plaid Flannel. I know the Devs had good intentions, but learning blink raw is better.
-
@Tactless_Ninja said:
Plaid Flannel doesn't show the nuances of not completely charging to go through terrain or other missteps. So yeah it's better to feel it out.
I found my self focusing to much on plaid flannel's landing point to where I wasn't blinking naturally but trying to aim if that makes sense.

So, as a Myers Main im "trying" to learn, how to play Nurse and Huntress, but every single Time the Survivor notice that im a Baby Killer (with Nurse and Huntress) and bully the S**t out of me. Either that or i just get some compassion points. Thats so frustrating. How should i ever be able to learn these two Killers?
Cheers♥
Fellow baby nurse here, and I'm trying to learn drunken nurse fu 😂😂😂.
I don't get the feeling that i'm being bullied so much as being mismatched with survivors I shouldn't be matched with. I shouldn't be going against tier 3 meta perk red rank survivors as a rank 13 baby nurse with less than 10-15 hrs using her.

That's matchmaking although a swf with OoO is unfair. I suggest doing customs to learn nurse and get good players. I do have sympathy for you though.
I am not too concerned with losing since I'm a baby nurse. I'm more focused on improving my blinks.
This is where I wish MMR was working so my baby nurse could go up against other players around my skill level with nurse.

Isn't freddy explicitly only a threat to people who fear him? And lol at whoever said batman isn't a lucid dreamer. This thread is full of people who've seen the recent movies and think they know anything.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Holy hell, batman has some strong ass kicks...

You can't penalize ppl for playing with each other.
