Well if I patrol the whole map and nothing gets worked on ever, I'm gonna start checking corners, bushes and lockers.

If they didn't have crows it means they were interacting with objects. That mainly leaves only lockers so at one point you're bound to go down there once and it means both the survivors are gonna die. (Assuming they can't escape well if they play like that)

It's a dick move to try and hide like that, but then it could've been countered by whispers for example.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like it and I don't approve but is it deemed a bannable offense? Unsure.

It most definitely is a reportable offence. The survivors are preventing the game from ending. In theory they could indefinitely keep this up and prevent the game from ever ending. It has been repeatedly confirmed by devs and mods that this survivor behaviour is considered “holding the game hostage”.

Like I said specifically exhaustion change it so ya can recover while running but double the time of the exhaustion. So if they sprintburst they have 80 seconds before they can do it again. Also adds some synergy to allow a all exhaustion build. Allowing for oblivious and stuff to wouldnt be bad. Just the 15 percent seems very mediocre as it saves ya like 4 seconds which with exhaustion is not worth another perk slot.

Yeah. I periodically run it when I come across an uptake in Blindness add ons. I know, I know, that seems like a lame reason, but my builds are usually aura reading focused, so Blindness is very crippling to my play style. But even then reducing 30 seconds of blindness to 24 seconds of Blindness seems quite weak, although I’d rather that than put up with that than the default blindness timer.

    Yep.

They were probably very very tilted, probably because you did something they perceived as toxic, whether you actually did or not.

I occasionally do this to an OoO if they have continually been a douchebag from across the map and during chases.

Vigil allows exhaustion perks while running but at double the time might push the perk to decent.

I could only imagine that kind of change occurring if it was much slower recovery while running. I.e. if tier 3 Sprint Burst were used, and it would usually take 40 seconds to recover, while running it allowed recovery equivalent to 60 seconds or 80 seconds. I.e. if the survivor we’re continually running for that long, by then their exhaustion will have recovered.

    Does this make sense?

Personally I’d like vigil to extend to new status effects as well. Oblivious etc.

  • Whenever I’m sick of of being stomped as pretty much any other killer, including Freddy who I’ve played for a very very long time, I always go back to playing as Clown and almost always get dozens of consecutive 4K or 3k before a game where it breaks even, or all escape.

I also get a LOT of survivor DC’s. Like a LOT. They seem to really really hate learning the hard way that Clown is not the joke they perceive him to be, and hate going from healthy to downed within 16 seconds (no, I’m not using RHPF). I’m usually doing this with brown or no add ons. Maybe double gas expansion add ons or extra blurred vision just for fun.

Clown (used properly) is one of the most extremely chase oppressive killers in the game because he so easily mitigates most of the survivors options during a chase.

I’m very curious what the rework will bring. I’m excited yet also concerned. Clown could be accidentally be made overpowered if they’re not careful. But it would certainly shock many players if he got some nerfs as well, even though I can see that probably happening. For example, he really doesn’t need RHPF. It’s simply too strong, and also not particularly interesting either.

  • Hope just shouldn’t expire once the gates are powered. Period.

  • You need to to the official DBD website, and lodge a support ticket

  • Streetwise works exactly as intended.

I slug on a frequent basis and still get merciless or ruthless.

  • Currently on Clown I almost always build around making slugging as a pressure tool as effective as possible, and as an anti heal build to keep survivors injured for as long as possible so that I can continue to keep chases super short mid game.

That usually starts with building around Coulrophobia & Mangled (either Sloppy or Sulphuric Vial).

At the moment it’s Coulrophobia, Sloppy, Third Seal, and Undying.

The twins are somewhere close to teens, and even tho the lore make them legal, my morals make them illegal. I don't wanna have viktor on this tier list.

Yea. Since Haddonfield (so October 2016) they added blinking lights as an indicator for an undone generator. I seriously don't get why Midwich is the only map where they didn't. Maybe license issues who knows.

For the moment the only thiing you can do is learning the map every time you get sent to it.

I'm running Detectives Hunch for multiple reasons (IS, Ruin/Undying/hex perks in general/3 gens/orientation on certain maps) so I'm pretty happy that I'm not facing so many issues with that.

Sadly, most gamers in DBD don't realize how impactful informations are. Still wondering why the Developers don't like to give solos more informations. Maybe you give Detectives a chance. It also encourages right gameplay. Do your objective in order to win the game and gain a lot of informations to become even more efficient and dangerous for the killer.

I don’t think it’s fair to put the blame back on the devs. There are a tonne of perks and options that provide information. It’s not the devs fault that, in the case of gens, there are players that don’t equip Deja Vu, Detectives Hunch, Visionary, or a map.

  • @Moxie said:

Remember when people complained it was hard to find gens on The Game?

The Devs said that if you see those grey sliding doors, there is always a gen on one side of it. It has been super helpful for me.

Is there anything like that with Midwich? Struggling hard to find gens.

Honestly, despite me being an experienced solo survivor of a few years now, I now almost never take off Visionary for this exact problem you stated.

I just can’t stand trying to find 1 of the last 4 or 3 gens on The Game, Hawkins, Lery’s, or Midwich without Visionary.

So I just leave it on all the time since its release into the perk pool. Helps me try and circumvent the other numbskulls rushing gens too hard into a 3 gen for the killer.

  • I love this perk.

Yeah, extra points are great, and it procs way more often in matches than most seem to expect.

Yeah, but isn't it supposed to be a feeling of hopelessness for the victims? I mean, I don't think most horror movies would have been very good if they had just been a series of killers/monsters trying to kill people but repeatedly failing while getting teabagged with flashlights clicking at them whilst then being berated by the would be victims for not trying to kill them the way they wanted to be killed.

Yes, hopelessness, but that tends to almost always go hand in hand with frustration.

  • Monstrous Shrine & This Is Not Happening.

Bet you're a hoot at those warm doctor pepper parties you throw every quarter

I think what he was trying to convey is that the feeling of frustration is a core part of a horror experience. Read any horror book or watch any horror film. The diminishing, overwhelming odds always induces frustration and n a main character at some point.

Yeah, I'm terrible at looping. Running away and escaping I can do, but being in an extended chase with a bloodlust killer? My success rate drops heavily, lol

Don’t feel bad. That’s the point. All chases are intended to end with a down unless a killer willingly gives up.

Most memorable YES was with MYC and Blood Warden.

Ghostface, Old Ormond. End Game Collapse. 1 Survivor Dead, one hooked just before EGC ass-end across the map from all gates. One of those rare instances (red ranks) where a solo opened the gates and checked out immediately.

Chased one Survivor out of the gate, and saw that the other guy got Unhooked, triggered MYC. (I was really trying to get BW to proc, usually leaving hook is net neutral or net negative at the EGC).

Ran back to hook, they were healing under hook. MYC the Unhooker, hooked 'em, it Killed him and triggered BW. Unhooked Survivor was cheeky given they had the distance to get to the Exit Gate just by running in a straight line. Which is exactly what they did.

They gave a cheeky teabag while far away. I ran after them. They saw BW. They stopped and turned, accepting their fate. I teabagged once, they got Hooked ;)

Lol, who waits by the hook after being exposed by MYC.

That was so silly of them. They deserved what you did.

  • I think my forum name speaks for itself

  • I just thought of something else. With the accidental slip that Ether 5% will change to Party Bottles, the description implies that perhaps there might be a change to the current effect of direct bottle hits (currently its much more severe blurred vision as well as interrupting actions).

Could direct hits without Party Bottles get an additional effect? More severe than blurred vision? A new status effect?

I squeal with joy when the killer kills a survivor who tunnels gens and lets me get to second stage.

It's always funny watching a teammate tbagging at the exit gate, only to get downed due to noed and hooked because they just weren't close enough to the exit line.

    I always just leave.

I hate the tbag at the gate culture in this game. It’s disrespectful and ugly. So because I know how tilting it is when I’m killer, I just leave when I’m survivor.

Plus, like you said, you just don’t know if the killer has NOED or any other last second tricks up their sleeve.

  • I think the intention was for Lucky Break to prevent blood orbs, and Haemorrhage to produce more blood orbs, but then the devs went “but what if all 4 survivors run Lucky Break or No Mither, then Oni won’t have a power”.

Because, yeah, that’s gonna happen, lol, and oh, because Oni totally doesn’t get instant blood orbs on hit and downs. Yeah, that doesn’t happen.

I love that kind of luck.

Reminds me of last week where I changed things up by running TTS & Undying. First match I was in was Lery’s, and there was on OoO T-bagging me during the opening camera pan. I quickly made life hell for them once they were blind and constantly inadvertently revealing their location to me. Even funnier I was running up to the OoO just as they were finishing cleansing one of the Hexes, thank goodness it wasn’t Undying, so it meant they were free of blindness for 2 seconds before they were blind again. The survivors didn’t find the other hex totems after that, so once everyone was blinded it was slug city. Fun times.

Don't get injured. Oni is the weakest killer as he has no power to work with at all. just drop pallets, don't greed or risk anything. No power = free win. If he gets his power hug killershack, main building and TL walls

This isn’t as helpful as you think. Pretty much every survivor has a good idea that getting injured against any killer is bad, and should try and avoid it.

What the OP is asking IF he’s injured during a chase, and is unable to heal/be healed, THEN what should they do?

  • Sorry, but that’s an individual players choice to make.

There are totally times where there is literally no point in persisting after first hook. Examples:

    • if the killer has already demonstrated that they’re a hard camper, and have made sure the first survivor they hooked dies on their first hook, and I’m the only one doing gens as best I can because the other 2 survivors are just crouching by the hook hoping the killer will leave, then you’re damn right that if I happen to be hooked I’m just going to suicide. I’m not going to wait around for absolutely nothing, knowing neither of the other 2 survivors are doing gens.
    • Hag! If I’m up against a Hag I’m going to suicide first hook. Because absolutely every single Hag player does exactly the same thing: traps the hook, and then when an unhook occurs, they immediately run straight back KNOWING it’s impossible for me and the rescuer to crouch far enough safely away from the hook traps before we can run without setting them off, so I get downed again either way whether traps were set off or not. So I’m not going to give a Hag benefit of doubt to see if perhaps this one time the Hag player won’t play like a scumbag. I just suicide and get it over with. Especially if I’m in the basement. Why bother, seriously?

Gore wise we have someone who literally has an outfit that is made out of gore, the Twins holiday skin.

It's not like there isn't any; but you would have to be more specific about what it is you want added and how so.

It’s not that it’s impossible, it’s that it would be outside of their currently classed content classification rating in DBD various distributed regions around the globe.

Suddenly adding in content that might get the game banned in certain regions in the world would create a total mess, as you’d have players that have been playing for ages, paid for DLC, then suddenly can’t log into the severs because their home country suddenly deemed it banned content.

I'd suggest giving those a read, since you seem to have broken about 7, but I'll stick with this regardless.

Matchmaking is scuffed. We know this, the devs know this, and all we can really do is hope that MMR is finished and functional (hopefully more functional than hit validation) soon. Making a post, particularly one where you say the game is trash and call people gnats won't increase the speed at which they develop this.

Despite all this (which I totally agree with), even at its worst DBD doesn’t suck. There’s been all sorts of catastrophes, but there’s a magic in this game that keeps a pretty large player base loyal regardless.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/215929/clown-rework-we-ve-seen-2-additional-gas-clouds-let-s-speculate-what-they-do

    Here's my old copy/paste guess:

So, I want to point out a few things from a game design PoV.

When you see the orange cloud, it's not orange at first. It's white. That's a WARNING. A "HEY, LOOK OUT". A telegraph. That is letting whoever is in the white cloud know that it's not going to be very wholesome in there for very long. As such, my guess is that the orange is a burning gas. The Survivor has a short period of time to GET OUT AND STAY OUT or else that gas will burn them. My GUESS is that it will reduce a Survivor from Health to Injured. Doubt it will go any lower, as that might make it a bit strong. This will make Clown much more aggressive in a chase, as he will now be able to Injure a Survivor on the move. Big yikes. I doubt it will be able to make a Survivor go into the Dying state, however, because that would introduce the lovely and family friendly concept of "NUKE IT FROM ORBIT", where a Clown could just unload on an area to glass it.

This is my theory based on the white-to-orange seen in the video. It's clearly showing a warning phase before activating fully, which leads me to believe damage is involved.

Or possibly an entirely new status effect.

Or maybe the new Incapacitated effect.

  • @RepostRiposte said:

    Pink gas functions as normal

White gas is a warning/delay before the orange gas takes effect

Both have been changed to cover a standardized area instead of spawning 6 blobs of gas that disperse like we have now

    Ahh...

I like where your train of thought is going.

If it were as you say that the alt bottle is white gas first as a warning, then turns orange (my guess is for a very punishing effect), this might actually better encourage players using Clown to use him properly: use smartly placed gas to attempt to control when/where a survivor changes direction.

    Get my thinking?

Currently many Clowns just spam bottles willy nilly in an attempt to hit a survivor, and then they’ve run out in less than 20 seconds.

But if this new bottle lands harmless white gas first before turning harmful, it’ll better get Clowns thinking about how and where to throw them, and get the desired effect of tricking survivors into going exactly where Clown wants them to go.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

Well,i don't think it will create a stronger slowdown because that would be pretty boring and not really fun to play against.

Stronger blur effects sounds unlikely aswell.

Maybe you drop a health state after being x amount of seconds in those new clouds? (Sounds very oppressive though)

Maybe increased movement speed for clown as a tool for map mobility?

I can’t see your last suggestion happening either.

Imagine Clown mid chase following up flask of bleach on a survivor with a “faster movement speed” cloud in quick succession.

In general, I think way more people would complain about Hag if she would have been played more frequently. But she is also not that much fun to play IMO, since you cant chase with her.

It’s exactly why I think she’s been under the radar so long. If she were Spirit/Freddy levels of popularity, Hag would have had changes LONG LONG ago.

I still stand by my thoughts that’s she is the worst designed killer in the game. She provides a miserable, hopeless experience to most survivors, but at the opposite end of the spectrum she is far too neutered by flashlights. How can we have a killer that is so hopeless to go against without one item, yet be rendered so damn powerless by just that one same item?! It’s ludicrous.

Now I mostly play survivor and I really like going against Hag instead of the normal looping games which are mostly same things over and over. Hag should bring joy to survivors what is the problem really?

Most Hags provide the most miserable and most frustrating experience in a match (usually).

I won’t DC, but on my first hook if the Hag starts spamming traps around the hook, I just suicide. There’s literally no point continuing because that Hag is guaranteeing I don’t get to continue playing the game anyway.
