That's why you get tbagged when they insta heal. You get mad enough to come on here and make a post about it.
-
What would be nice also is to add in a bloodpoint bonus to the players who play in the queue that is short of players.
Getting frustrating with these events... a big portion of players play killer and make those queues a joke.
These events are actually not fun when they are happening cause you are stuck playing just the one side, or you might have to wait 10+ minutes to find a match.
-
Well... That sucks.. but you must have said something more than a cuss word at them if you got a 2 week ban for it. You don't get banned for telling someone to f off.
Should have just started recording and reported them for harassing you.
-
Short answer... NO.
Long Answer... Maybe in the future.
-
I think the new SWF match making change might have had a negative effect on the lower ranks.
It isn't a coincidence that right after that change, red rank killers got instant lobbies and low rank killers got a longer queue time. I noticed this even myself.
Then the bloodhunt exacerbates the issue.
-
@Mr_K so?
If you are playing in the red ranks that is your choice to do them when in that rank. Otherwise wait for a rank reset or when you've gotten a lower rank.
The issue isn't the achv it is the rank you are choosing to get them at.
Why should they make it easier for a red rank killer to get them? The only way to fix it is to lower the requirement for a double pip.
Goto purple and green rank and all you need is 15 points... or goto yellow and you need 14 points.
-
I don't get it... So....
They are easy to get in the low ranks....
However... People have problems getting them in the red ranks.. When they play in the red ranks...
However...
They aren't broken... Since people who are having trouble getting them in the red ranks.. derank to get them in the lower rank?.. Cause they weren't good enough to get them in the red ranks.... What is the issue?
If they were meant to only be achievable by the best players.. Where they needed to be in the red rank aswell as double pip.. That would be the requirement.
However it isn't.
So what is the issue here?
-
Don't need bloodpoints?
Who is playing this game and doesn't need bloodpoints... I think those people are gonna be rare to come by in this game.
Maybe the issue is... You don't earn allot of bloodpoints per match, so it is easy to throw them away and DC. I certainly feel that was a survivor.. Even during double bloodpoints.
But deranking as a punishment isn't a punishment in this game that is for sure.
-
I waved it around for you... Fixed up that ticket for you.
-
Waves magic wand... DONE!
-
What would make it better is that there would be a portal on the wall that allowed the killer to teleport from the one basement to the other.
-
Who cares if they are "imbalanced".... They are achievements in the game.
You have to play both sides in order to get them. If you "main" one side, that is your choice to play that one side... But achvs aren't meant to be a balance thing... Like mechanics in the game. Achvs aren't a Survivor VS Killer thing.
You are a player of the game... You want the achvs, you then play the game to get them.
Wait for a rank reset then do them.
-
Don't rank up what is the problem?
You don't want to play in the low ranks when playing solo, but want to be able to play with your newbie friends.
Oh well.. make a choice.
Don't rank up and make it easier on your friends.
-
Yeah the buff is fun.
-
Well there was a time when it took the creator of the SWF lobby... So you'd get high skilled players with their new friend going against rank 20 killers... That didn't work....
They changed it to take the average... That went on for several years... It allowed red ranks to pair up with low ranks to get easier matches.
Now it is time to try taking the highest rank. Worth seeing how it goes.
-
No.. There have been many who use a VPN to hide their IP address.
-
Actually when they redid the match making a long time ago, it was set to the average. It was recently when they did the new match making to be inline with Dedicated Servers, they changed it back to taking the survivor who created the SWF lobby.
If anything it took them several months to fix that issue even when they announced it on one of the Dev Updates.
I made a post about it in July.
@TheBean said:
So curious...
--
I've was given the impression... Way back when.. before these forums where even created, the Match Making took the average rank of the SWF group.
Cause in the beginning, when SWF was released, it took the rank of the player who created the SWF lobby, which resulted in rank 1s, grouping up with a rank 20 survivor. If the rank 20 survivor created the SWF lobby, the match making would match up to rank 20 killers.
So in order to stop this, the Match Making was changed to take the average rank of the players in the SWF lobby.
--
However now in the Developer update, it mentions that the New Match Making will take the average rank of the group.
So when was this changed? Cause I was to understand this was done well over 2 years ago. Now with the Patch Notes deleted on Steam, we can't verify it.
Why wouldn't the New Match Making system not already incorporate this rule since it already existed.
--
So what is currently going on right now?
-- EDIT --
FOUND IT:
During Patch 1.2.2 - October 24th, 2016 - Posted by bhvr_sbdaniel
The 3rd Balance change in the "Balance" Section it states:
"Adjusted Matchmaking for Survive With Friends to be based on the average rank of the group (instead of the host’s rank)"
This was done over 2 years ago.
https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/340412628171580889/
It was actually taking the average rank for quite a long time. Changing it to take the highest is a good change.
What might be useful aswell is to add a disclaimer in game when doing SWF that it will use X's rank when matching, so everyone in the lobby knows, when bringing in their new player friend they will be matched up with a higher ranked killer. To minimize the whining later on.
-
Hey guys wondering what it is.... Just go look in the Bug Reports.
Usually you can go there and find out what has been reported.. Don't need to be harsh on the OP. They probably just hoping that fix will come down in the hotfix.
-
That is an interesting exploit... LULs
Glad I don't use Ruin. Funny.
You can find it on the forums yourself, since it probably would be wise not to talk about it.
-
They sort of do need to isolate the new people a bit more in the game. However there is an issue with that....
--
One of the biggest problems new players face, survivor mostly, is the camping and tunneling. That generally ruins the game for allot of them. Allot of new killers don't understand the game enough not to camp and tunnel. They learn that as they play more.
So it doesn't matter if a new killer or veteran killer camps or tunnels, the effect is the same.
The more skilled the killer they face, the less likely that will be, but the skilled killer is still gonna hose them, giving them the feeling like they had no chance anyways. Which could even be more demoralizing.
--
What could be an interesting idea to try is... If a veteran player is facing a new player, there should be some sort of identifier so all the players in the match know, these people are "new".
Then perhaps give players bonus BP wise for treating them as fairly as possible. I.e... Hooking them 3 times... Allowing the match go a long time... Allowing a certain number of gens to be completed.... Allowing chases to be won... Etc etc. Basically bonus points for not smashing them into oblivion right in the first few minutes and giving them a chance to play.
--
I think there should also be a minimum rank number a player can reach when the rank reset happens. For example... If I got a devotion of 3, I probably should never be put into the new rank area again. Maybe rank 15 should be my lowest rank I can ever get now.
-
Probably just peoples expectations change and then think players are being more toxic than normal.
I feel more people would like to farm during those events and get annoyed when most are still playing like normal.
But yeah there is no benefit... Maybe some people get the impression they will come across more farming matches to maximize their BPS offerings.
-
@Kilmern Yeah all good, people have their reasons for being private. Some are doing it though to hide their friends or just because they don't want ragged on for their hours.
Like Naiad said above.. usually you can tell when playing against them.
But seeing the hours when their new might make others treat them easier. I have been, and usually do in general. If I see people with 8 or 10 hours in my lobby, I'm not gonna use my OP addons and moris, unless I'm doing a daily. Also not gonna go out of my way to make sure they die.
However.. If I got that Jake and he had 1000 hours on his profile... and they play like a 10 hour player.... mmm.. The entity might be taking them away.
-
Prob is the consoles cause they have to get it certified... otherwise they could just roll it out too PCs.
-
Probably won't be until next thusday or something like that...
Problem is those dang consoles... and the devs desire to make sure consoles and PC are at the same version all the time.
-
T bagging = Extra Hits.... Body Blocking = extra hits..... Running around the killer = extra hits....
Extra Hits = Extra Points...
Lots of Bloodpoints = a good thing.
Don't get upset about tbagging... they are just crouching in front of you... who cares.
-
yeah opens when there is only one survivor left.
They could open the gates.. and 3 get out.. but someone is still in the match, it will open. I've gotten a couple just waiting for that to happen.
Or if you get one person when all gens are done... slug them and run over to the gate and open it.
Keep the slugged there and wait for the other 3 to leave than go close the hatch. But you might have to let that last survivor wiggle out a couple times to prolong the time until everyone gets out.
-
Don't worry it will be ok. You're not the only one who has thought they don't get listened too.
I'm surprised Demo isn't faster than every killer in the game... The thing is supposed to run on all fours.
Camping?.. Since when is killing survivors camping?
-
It is called getting BHVR'd!
GGS!
-
Well reset is over.. usually after a couple of days those that want to climb rank get back to where they were.
Now you are basically facing those that don't play as much but have played for awhile.. or those who are playing SWF with a lower ranked friend.
--
The game basically comes down to finding and chasing people as killer. The more you know the maps, the easier it is to find hiding survivors. Then learning how to deal with the major looping spots helps in ending those chases quicker. I suggest watching a few youtube videos on how to run those loop spots better.
Remember who the higher ranks are in the lobby, cause if you start chasing them and they start taking you for a run, go look for someone else and get the less skilled player. Sometimes you can put those higher ranked players in bad positions on the map when they are going for saves and heals.
-
Grats to those that won!
-
@Pugpablo123 yes.. same with Ash and Freddy
They might go one sale now and then.. but real money.
-
It isn't hard to play around BBQ.
-
Trapper, Wraith and Hill Billy come with the base game.. Nurse and Huntress are free.
The licensed killers are the ones that cost real money... The others can be bought for shards.
-
In the past it didn't work.. but maybe they changed that recently.
-
I, myself, will hate playing with out it. I usually will keep dumping points into a killer until they get BBQ Tier 3 before I'll even play them.
Unless I'm going for an achv I won't play without it. The BP gain is too much, plus the BP gain is far easier to get as killer. At least to me. WGLF is good, but I wish there was a bit more that could be done to get that capped out at 4 stacks.

I love Dead By Daylight because of the toxicity and emotional rollercoaster it puts you in as a player.
In the beginning, when learning how to play, there was a horror and fear factor when running around as a survivor. Trying to understand how the killer is attempting to hit and hook you. Playing mind games and out juking yourself cause the other player didn't outsmart you. Survivors running around like greased-up piglets, trying to catch them and thinking you got one until they slipped through your grasp. The game has the ability to generate raging when losing and winning. Even to this day, after more than 3 years, it still can give you that moment of rage, which can make for an exciting match.
Nothing is more enjoyable than making your first flashlight save, helping everyone escape a nasty killer player, your first 4K using an ivory mori and the best, when catching that last survivor as they are inches from escaping.
Although some may complain about how the community ruins DBD, I personally think the community enhances the game. What is more fun then sniping into your favourite streamer's lobby and have them camp you on the hook. Having "discussions" on the forums only to see those players join your killer lobby later.
I've enjoyed watching how the game and the developer evolve from the earlier stages, and it will be fun to see how they will continue to evolve in the future.
Nothing is more enjoyable in Dead By Daylight, until one of those rage inducing moments, when you've realized that you just got BHVR'd.
Thanks Dead By Daylight.
P.S. I still love you. You dirty pig.
EDIT: Fixing some spelling mistakes.
-
@Kikki Yeah seen that on a stream last night.. their partner took almost a minute to get into the killers lobby.
-
I hope it comes back.. it is just a convenience thing.
-
The Update comes out at 11 EST.. but the DLC not until 12 PM EST.
Just have to wait an hour... or 23 more minutes.
-
Was kind of hoping to get 3 achvs per character for a total of 9 achvs... but not a big deal.
-
@JasonDark86 Well you say they aren't being honest or ethical. I actually don't think you know what those two words mean.
If anything I see them as being honest and ethical when they come out and are being honest as to why they aren't releasing them. Then also being ethical in why they aren't releasing them. Since it would be unethical to release those servers in the current state.
It is one thing to be respectful of opinions, but when you voice them in a public forum and state you will "disrupt" the fan experience. You shouldn't be ignorant to the fact people might respond to your "opinion".
It would be unethical of you to go out of your way to ruin the experience of others in the game, simply because you are unhappy that dedicated servers were not released.
What you do is, what allot of business do when their employees don't meet their deadlines. You hear out their reasoning and either extend the deadline, move them off the project or you fire them. Since as a customer you don't have any control on extending it, you either agree to their reasoning or not, using your pocket book.
-
@JasonDark86 Setting deadlines isn't promising anything. Companies generally don't "promise" you stuff. They aren't little kids sitting in the playground promising you anything.
You seem to take things a bit to serious. Someone sets a deadline... Doesn't make it.
You are acting like they personally attacked you or something.
Are you ok?
-
@JasonDark86 OH WELL.... luls
Lots of times companies put out deadlines and don't hit them. Promising is allot different from setting a deadline.
Maybe don't play... No one is forcing you too. Might be time to take a break. I hear Civ is fun.

I'm terrible at pressing the Any key... I can never find it.

༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ SUMMON THE CHAPLER. ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

Cujo... Maybe we'll get a dog killer.
-
Disconnects are tracked and if they exceed the threshold they get banned.
-
It is a Killer VS Survivor thing to where they need to be equal.
Getting a double pip isn't that hard as killer... esp if you are playing the way the Devs want you to, by the emblems. Even easier if you do it after a rank reset.
