I generally don't use Ruin
I'm not affected.
I knew this day was coming and didn't want to have my style of play ruined when the inevitable nerf came.
Same here... So funny to still be here to see it. LUL
---
This is like DS... I hated the first versions of it, on both sides. So never used it... but now after its changes... I think it is allot more fun. So maybe this new version of Ruin will be better.

[Doubt]
People act like the sky is falling because BVHR doesn't have a great track record with perk changes.
Actually I think they have. I remember once in the old days... before these forums... when I needed to walk 10 miles to school each day... AND BACK... Small Game got a big nerf... My favourite perk.. I complained... But you know... It was better for the game.
Most people complaining, really do know, the Devs aren't making changes "willy-nilly". They thought this change out... probably tested more versions of it, then we can think of.
I just think we should maybe see how it plays out.
I think there is some dependence on this perk... I think it will better in the long run if killers don't feel that dependence.
--
I hate this perk both as a survivor and killer. I hate using it and playing against it.
I do see the importance of slowing the gen rush. This game is about challenges and chances, otherwise it gets boring.

try it before complaining about it? you must be new here
:) <3

But SERIOUSLY...
It is going to PTB... Maybe lets try it out... See how it goes.
There is still time to put in your feedback about it. They aren't just tossing it out into PTB for nothing. Remember when the hatch changes were being looked at. They tried it out on PTB... Then it was put hold and reworked into the EGC.
See how things go in PTB, try it out.... And not just one or two matches... give it a shot.
-
gah.... I can't read all the posts...
But what do you expect? The same every other night. You just wanted it easy during double BP so you could get a bunch of points.
One thing is simple.... You want the points... Play killer and take them. Get those points.
-
This game is very abusive.... I like to be abused.... same with many others who play this game.

See you next week!

nice bait reply no one listen to this person
It isn't bait... At least to my Hatch Playing friends out there!
-
Ahh... I'm gonna put some counters in there....
- In a chase, if you see someone working on a gen, do NOT run over to where they are.
You bet you do... You don't want to die... It is better if the killer chases someone else, since they need to keep the pressure on. Bond works good here.
- Do everything you can to prevent a teammate's death, even if it means risking one hook state from yourself. 1 survivor down can be crippling.
Never... You are a survivor... Your goal is to survive. Don't risk your neck unless you'll get out of there unscathed.
- If you are not in a chase, do a gen.
Don't worry... There is the hatch. The hatch spawns even if no gens are done. There might be a key in that chest, which means you get to leave early.
- Do not steal chases from others, its rude and annoying. Unless they are in critical danger and taking the aggro will save them. But if its just so you can get chased, just don't.
Be annoying to your fellow teammates... make sure to block them at the window they need to jump through... or the pallet they need to throw. Best just to throw it for them, even if it is on them. The killer needs some hooks, you need survivors to die so you can get hatch.
- Make the most out of every pallet. They're the most important resource during a chase. A mediocre survivor and an amazing survivor can keep chases for the same amount of time, the major difference is amazing survivors use far less pallets.
Throw them right away, then tbag on the otherside, in front of the killer so they continue to chase you to the next pallet you can throw.
- BMing isn't cool and it doesn't make you look cool. If you're doing it to keep the killer's attention on you, honestly it could be a legitimate strategy in persuading a killer to commit to you so your teammates can get generators. Just don't complain about tunneling afterwards.
TBag, point and spam "come over here" as much as you can, make sure to giggle each time you do it.
- Only heal if you really need to. Especially against stealth killers, because they can get the jump on you for an easy down. However, against killers with Sloppy Butcher, Legion, or any instant-down Killers healing is less worth it than doing generators.
Heal whenever possible, since you leave blood behind. You don't want the killer to find you. If you see a survivor on a gen while the killer is chasing someone else, make sure to goto the gen and refuse to work on it until they heal you. Empathy works good here. Why take self-care when your teammates can heal you.
- Do not make dumb and risky saves unless you're gonna hook-trade. Forcing a survivor down a hook state because of your stupidity is not only a dick move, as stated earlier, a survivor death could be crippling to the team.
Bring in We're Gonna Live Forever (WGLF) you need points, remember... There is the hatch, just get out of there as fast as possible, you don't want to killer to start chasing you. Don't worry about Borrow Time, it is a wasted perk slot.
- Hiding is generally not worth it unless you're in a dead zone with no safe spots, or unless you're not confident in chase.
Hatch Play is a viable strategy... You won't be the last survivor unless you hide, especially in lockers.
There we go, if you need more info let me know!
GGs!
See You In The Fog!
-
@CrowFoxy Yes.. plus points... but the laugh is all worth it.
-
I like it when I haven't used my DS the whole game and I'm being chased out the exit gate area with it active.
-
I like taking Billy.. So I can plow into survivors like and angry freight train.
-
Yeah rank doesn't really mean to much unless you're new.
The rank 8 only means they have been playing the last couple of weeks, where you could get a rank 15 with 3000 hours and devotion level 5, who just hasn't played in a couple of months.
Accept it... The Match Making will never be perfect.
-
You do know.... At rank 15 you are in the bottom of the bottom of survivors, since they aren't actually supposed to go below rank 15 anymore (but that is bugged)...
So you are basically playing against all those same types of survivors with all those same perks.. but they are rank 15, cause they don't bother ranking up.
You could get that exact same setup of survivors but with them all rank 15, and just as skilled if not better, since they are trolling newer killer players.
-
I bet I know what the problem was.... I blame the consoles....
Devs pushed to get both updates in on one shot cause of consoles... I bet the update didn't pass verification on one of the consoles.
Now they make the updates... but have to go back through the verification process. Since this could be a few days...
They aren't giving an ETA cause they want to make sure everything gets passed before giving a date.
Give it a couple days and surprise.. it will be out.

You're considered sweaty when you get up after a tough match and you have sweat between the crack of your ass...
You're real sweaty if your front parts are also sweaty.
GGS!
-
What are you gonna due when they ignore your "DEMAND"?
What are your ramifications for not complying?
-
The Devs got so mad at everyone they are taking back their reward from everyone.
-
The girls get twerking... and the guys get pelvic thrusts
-
I wasn't disappointed. I didn't watch it.
-
@madds Mori's hurt your emblem points.
You only get points towards emblems when you down and hook survivors and kill them on the hook. You don't get those hook emblem points when you mori them.
The two categories.. Malicious and Devout... In Malicious you get 2 points in that category for each change in hook state.
In Devout you get points for each hook and sacrifice on the hook. You also get a point for hooking all the survivors 3 times each.
The toughest one to get is your Gatekeeper... You don't have much control on this emblem since it is really dependent on the group of survivors you get.
Chaser is easy to get when you got a M1 killer, but if you are using one shots, you still need to make sure you win enough chases, that is where slugging comes in.
Using a mori makes it harder to max out your emblems which you need to do to make getting the Adepts easier.
but to each their own... I find when I put out a Mori, survivors try harder, and usually will rush the gens on you if they can.
-
@53nation Nah... using a mori will make it harder to earn your emblem points. You gotta try to get everyone dead on their 3rd hook.
-
I do what ColonGlock above mentions.
Another thing is timing.... Wait a couple days after a rank reset... then just keep playing that killer until you get it. Right now should be prime potato picking season.
Just make sure you play in a way that... You don't single pip... You don't want to keep ranking up.
Try to hook them all first... then go for 2nd hooks and last hook. Last thing you want to do is get yourself a white pip and make it harder.
--
I usually just go into the match with the idea of hooking everyone one time first... then go for the 2nd hook on everyone... then part way through that, if I feel I can get everyone killed off on their 3rd hook cause of the pressure I got going.... I knuckle down and try hard the crap out of it... or I give up and let them all go so I don't pip.
If you don't go back to hooks and leave them right away, the survivors will keep going for saves so you'll have an idea where everyone is part way through the match.
--
You don't need to kill all 4 either.. if you can get 3 dead on their 3rd hook and you got that last one hooked 2 times.. don't matter if they get out via the hatch. If you also using a one shot killer, you should just m1 them all down... don't use your one shot. If you are doing really well, you can slug a few of them to get some more quick chases emblem points in.
-
The Match Making system is hot garbage for queue times on PC for killer.
They put in a new system that actually takes longer than it took in the past.
You get penalized cause you are new and low rank.
-
about once a quarter.. maybe.
But there are also events that give you more points, like the Halloween one coming up next week.
Just save up some BP so you can dump them into a survivor and killer to get the offerings right away.
-
@OmegaXII yeah people want to cherry pick their matches... That has been happening since the beginning of the game.
BHVR doesn't really punish players for disconnecting. With no punishments, people can freely do what they wish, for the most part. The current DC punishments only hurt those who are habitual disconnecters, but not the casual disconnecter.
However, once punishments do come in, and the root causes that helped start the whole disconnecting issues aren't dealt with. Do you think that will be healthy for the game?
--
Even in the OPs post, they mention that it won't really affect the casual/new Nurse players. Only those who are considered "GOD LIKE" when playing Nurse.
The OPs post is all complaining about the Nurse Nerf, but at the same time justifying why it needed to be done.
-
@Bravo0413 Nurse is only one part of the game. The disconnect issue isn't just related to the Nurse.
The feeling of their gaming experience being ruined is why people are disconnecting. Having no punishments only exacerbates the problem.
I don't want to derail this discussion into a disconnecting thread, so I'm gonna leave that as it is.
-
@OmegaXII No they are disconnecting because of things they are finding that ruin their gaming experience. It just isn't one aspect of the game with Nurse that causes them to disconnect.
-
This is a funny post for a few reasons...
That poster shows the exact reason why she needed to be nerf'ed. It is funny to show how powerful she was, then what she will become, then complain about how she's losing her competitiveness. So you just showed how overpowered she was and that the Devs want to bring her movement more inline with the other killers.
--
I don't care about tournaments... Using that as an argument aswell is bullshit, since, IMO, a big portion of the community don't / can't participate in them.
People will still have tourneys, they just change the rules to suit. So... using that as an argument for not making changes to the game is BS.
--
I get it though.... If you enjoyed playing a character in a game allot, then the developers change it... That can be frustrating. Some people can't roll with the punches and feel they need to "stand up" to this injustice... rather than just accepting it as a "for the greater good" for the game.
--
Maybe understanding the reasoning for the increase in disconnects might get people to accept there must be changes to the game.
What do you think is going to happen once disconnecters start getting "punished" when the reasoning for them disconnecting isn't getting addressed?
Once the disconnecting punishments come in, there will be a drop in the player base, but at least they might be able to cushion the fall a bit by removing some of the crap that is causing players to disconnect in the first place.
--
Who really cares about GOD Nurse players having to relearn their Nurse play, or stay GODs with them, cause they will still be good with the Nurse anyways... You know they can actually branch out and play other killers instead aswell.
Funny. Giggles!
-
It will be better than last year that is for certain.
Now... you won't fill your vial and then waste the offering, cause you only needed one hook or one sucky sucky to finish your vial.
Now if you finish getting your vials, you can still put out the offering to get the bonus points.
I don't think there will be any changes though.. at least not to the nurse tweaks.
-
Just cause you have DS doesn't mean you'll be the obsession... Good old RNG.
-
@Blackowt_9120 What you are asking for is when both killer and survivor are at the closed hatch, waiting for the 3rd to die on the hook. Who gets the prompt first? You are asking that the killer always win that situation.
-
@TheUnendingNightmare yeee... I hear ya... Only 2 needed to be done.
Nah can't remove the hatch, cause it would make the game unfun if you were the last. It would make it pointless to play once the 3rd survivor was killed.
I made a big post about this in the past, since you don't need to work on gens and gens are boring, as a teammate playing solo, I only need to do saves and chases to have my fun and go for hatch at the end. However I don't think removing the hatch is an answer to that.
--
IMO they could add in a better scoring system that gave the group of survivors more points for getting objectives done in the match depending on how many survivors are still alive. Basically adding in more teammate scoring so people would be more interesting in working as a team and not by themselves.
-
@TheUnendingNightmare What the hatch?.. Who cares?.. No gens done.. You've killed 3.... and the last one?... You go open a gate and now they got 2 minutes to leave.
Go close the hatch... They got 2 minutes to leave...
The last survivor can't hold the game hostage anymore. If 2 players are dancing around the hatch trying to "WIN" that is on them.
-
@TheUnendingNightmare Maybe... If the others didn't get any work done. But usually if you were playing hatch game, you'd help until there was two done.
Remember when you say "Back in the days..." Meaning what it was and now it has been changed. Why is that?
The "Back in the days... "... Not enough gens done.. Well no point working on gens then... Maybe I'll just sit in the basement and bounce between lockers for 20 minutes wasting a bunch of your time. People want the game to come to an end when there is one left, not have it potentially drag out for longer then it took to kill the first 3 survivors.
-
@TheUnendingNightmare Idea is for the killer to make their kills... but also for players to have fun playing the game.
Survivors can be dammed in a match if they get found first... so now you'd also want it so that last survivor has zero chance. Doesn't sound like it would be a fun match.
-
@Blackowt_9120 yeah.. asking the devs to put in a few second delay so you can win the battle between survivor and killer at the hatch is asking the Devs to hand you the 4K.
Just slug that 3rd survivor and go find the 4th survivor if you want your 4K so bad. IF you didn't catch that last survivor from going out the hatch... then did you deserve it?... cause there are ways to stop it from happening depending how sweaty you're getting.
Also just to point out.. just like survivors escaping... You either make it out... or not. You either get a 4K or not.... If you didn't get the escape, then did you deserve it as survivor? As killer, if you didn't get the 4K cause you didn't play it right, do you deserve it?
-
Crap happens... Can't always get your 4K... There are ways around that as killer, don't ask the Devs to hand it to you.
-
Probably on Youtube videos you'll be able to see some.
I don't think they are listed anywhere, other than in game and the PTB is now off.
-
Might aswell use them up... They gonna be sitting in your inventory like the BNPs...
Addons that were too powerful you felt bad using them... Then they get changed to where those addons are so bad you don't want to use them.
-
Ahh good that will mean those offerings won't be useless once you get all your serums.
Sucked once you finished your serums you couldn't get the bonus points anymore.
-
I think the idea is to cater to both casuals and hard core players.
How can you expect casuals to finish that rift?.. Maybe.. but casuals shouldn't expect to.
If you want to finish it... then you have to spend the time. Hard core players want something challenging to them over the longer haul, not something that is challenging but can be finished in one week.
TBH though.. It is structured so unless you are complete hardcore player you won't get all your cells back. Even hardcore players might have trouble doing that.
I think they want it so... You pay your 1000 cells... but you really only earn about 800 to 900 of them back, so they will always be hoping you'll top it up for that extra few hundred cells everytime a new tome comes out.
--
People are putting out ideas on the amount of time it will take.. but some of those challenges... especially level 4 rift... where they need to be done in a single match... Will take many attempts each to complete.
I have a feeling there will be allot more "farming" style matches.
They are moving all the threads to the feedback forum... so just cause they haven't answered specifically on those threads, doesn't mean they aren't tracking peoples feedback on the challenges.
-
Who are the majority?
Also... Why does BHVR need to give a statement when they revert the changes back? Wouldn't just the act of reverting the Nurse back be enough? They need to do a statement about it aswell?
Maybe they could just put out a statement, if they are not going to revert it back?
Or maybe... They can put out no statement.... Or.... Maybe...
--
Technically they did put out a statement... They put one out about the changes... and they show they care by allowing you to test it on the PTB to provide feedback.
Did you provide your feedback?
Now you just have to wait and see what happens... When the PTB goes live next week.
giggles!
-
Don't incriminate yourself... Everything you say on the forums will be used against you when the other bubbas have their tribunal.
-
Only if they get the content of the chest... That means you failed as basement bubba and it gets you a 24 hour soft ban.
-
I did actually read it.. same with most the others in this thread.
A pallet is meant for eating. Did you eat some wood?
I've actually played survivor for more than 51 hours!
--
But maybe... Just maybe...
It is one of those weird map glitches, that only few actually know about....
So you got nailed by it, cause the killer knew about that exploit.
BAM!... What you thought was a safe pallet for looping... actually isn't when playing against someone who knows about it.
OUTPLAYED!
--
Probably not one of those big deals that the Devs put high on the list of fixes, since not many know about it, like many of the other "tech" spots.
-
Maybe that wasn't a safe loop spot like you thought it was supposed to be.
ZOINKS!
-
The best counter to the Spirit is for survivors to come onto the forums and give feedback on how OP she is and get her nerfed.
