What does being survivor or killer have to do with the Archives or Battle Pass?

Rank doesn't mean too much anyways, since you can have a 3000 hour player playing at rank 15 and a 100 hour player playing at rank 1.
You get seasoned and new players at all levels.
Not hard to climb rank where that exists.

@Karltastisk Doesn't really matter though. If it is still structured the way it was from last year, you can play survivor to get all your vials pretty easily. I still had all my 6 pieces way before the event ended. It probably will only take about 5 or 6 nights to do if you are playing only a few hours each night.
@Madjura yeah i don't really care to be honest. The time frame isn't that big of a deal, since you can play one side and get all the vials really easy.
The only issue I found with the event was once you got all your vials, you couldn't get anymore bonus points for the event. Basically once you got all your vials the event was over for you.
This made it harder for those later on in the event, since people would stop putting out the offering because they couldn't participate anymore.

@Karltastisk are you sure about it being less time?
Last years got extended because the event was buggy. You were forced to play both sides to earn enough serum, which blew killer queues through the roof.
They only allowed you 3 pieces at first, then up'ed it to 6 because of the public outcry of releasing what 12 pieces and you were only allowed to get 3 max.

Last years felt so long because of the amount of issues and changes that were done to it while it was running.

I'll never understand why people would get ticked off because a company is trying to make some money. They aren't forcing you to buy their products, and them selling them early has no bearing on the event itself. They also aren't doing anything dishonest.
IMO, I like the way they do this event. We can earn up to 6 pieces... and choose which ones you want from a good size collection spread across multiple characters.
Not like in the past, where you could earn an exclusive.. for a character you never played.

No hoodies?... Did you not see the new Legion outfits?.... The woman's head piece is a hoodie, (sort of) When I seen that... They could do a hoodie with bunny ears.

There are some who won't even be able to play the event, so why not sell them to those people now? What does it matter? They buy it now, or buy it in 2 weeks?
You can't earn enough serum to even get all the pieces... so some people might end up buying the rest if they want to. So again... What does it matter if they get it now, or in 2 weeks?
Do you have an issue with impulse buying? That would be the only thing they are hoping for... If someone to buy it before they change their mind.
Those who aren't going to buy them in 2 weeks, won't be buying them now. So why can't they just release the cosmetics into the store now?
I don't get it. It doesn't effect whether you are going to buy them now or in 2 weeks, unless you can't control yourself financially.

You mad cause they put them out early to capitalize off the event hype? Since there is more pieces you can actually earn during the event... makes sense to only sell them during that small window of time?
You worried there will be others running around in the outfit you want, but you gotta wait till the event to get it?

You don't have to buy them and you can wait for the event to get the 6 you want. Nobody is forcing you to buy them now. Some people might want more than 6 pieces. Why not put them up now? Cash in on the event hype.
Why do you think they made so many outfits? Just to sit on them till after Halloween?

You don't want to buy any... So you are jealous there are some who are buying them. You don't want to see them in the game, until you got yours.

IMO, Problem is you are asking about fairness.. but only for those that play survivor?
If you play both sides, since there is two portions of the game, you might get a better understanding of what fair means in Dead By Daylight.
One of the first things you realize is the silliness of using the "main" adjective.

RIght now it takes me about 10 seconds to find a lobby for survivor.. and close to 5 minutes as killer... that is during peak time near toronto. People aren't going to stop playing cause the Nurse got stomped on.
We haven't even seen the med kit changes... Get ready for that one.. You probably gonna see some up roar when that info comes up.

One of the reasons why I hate consoles.
If you play a custom game... before you start playing regular matches that earn you BP, then make sure you restart your game.

Just go in as survivor and get chased. You can waste the killers time as a survivor being chased, and help your teammates. While the whole time not gaining much in emblem points.

I don't see a big deal with what you told in your story to be honest.
You said yourself you didn't want to play sweaty. Sometimes when you play sweaty or have sweaty moments in the match, it can backfire.

Means they are doing an update... if you are searching for a match and it takes awhile.. then restart it.
Their backend is probably the Match Making servers.

You can still be tunneled with DS... All the killer has to do is slug you... chase someone else near your slugged self... Then pick you after the timer expires.

It is because you don't know how to play. Your friends can show you stuff in a Custom Game and teach you how to loop.
You can also go check out some YouTube videos on how to do so. They will give you tips.
There is a big learning curve in this game.
You should also play killer so you understand how they play. It also helps you learn what each killer can do and how they will find and chase you.
This game is about winning chases, so if you can't win chases you won't escape.
