Doing bloodwebs does not mean #########.
I also have my chars at max level, even the freaking Trickster that I have barely played.
The point stands: it will make camping and tunnel more difficult because it will.
I camp and I tunnel and I can tell you that much.
oh, you actually did a pathetic excuse.
Im sure the fact that BT/DS disable in endgame, DS has 2 seconds shorter stun, there are no real incentives not to camp&tunnel, not camping&tunneling is punished by new meta perks is making tunneling & camping harder is just as correct as the fact that water is always dry.

i dont whine when i get tunneled, sometimes the killer gets punished for tunneling me, which is fine since is okay to get 1k, sometimes he kills more, no need to be salty on postgame chat like a entitled toddler
like I said, hope this works out for you, because tunneling is going to increase so much with new patch =)

Solo Q is about to become way more miserable somehow. Devs really outdid themselves. Didn't think it was possible. They already changed the the hatch and keys making them utterly useless/impossible. I now have something like 77 "Ultra rare Pink keys" just on Bill alone. All the new Killers are high mobility or teleporting. Getting out as a last survivor is just about impossible.
I just cringe at the thought of loading into a match against Legion with the buffed thanatophobia. Those matches are already brutally long and irritating. Or the thought of a Claudette self-caring for 100 years in a corner while someone goes to struggle on the hook.
Hook suicides and d/c's are already a way of life in Solo Q, and I can only see that getting worse. God help us all lol.
hot take, but keys should've been entirely reworked and based around chests to work as basically a pocket ace in the hole build.
since we already have locks, there should be ways to open the locks without breaking them

Yeah, yeah. Everyone is a legacy Nurse these days. Specially Survivors.
Like I said, I play killer since flashlights blinded you in real life and *today* 99% of matches. Yes, with Nurse too.
And it will make it more complicated. It will. Period.
What other pathetic excuses will you make? Is this photoshop or did I borrow someone's legacy account in those 3 minutes that I conveniently had lying around?
Hope you feel ashamed and won't respond anymore, it would really help

I tunnel and camp (fantasy terms but ok) all day long and the patch will make it more complicated.
You are a main Survivor who does not know the Killer gameplay beyond the two matches per month against absolute noob Survivors.
Play Killer only for like a year, then we talk.
lmao, you are so wrong with your guesses it's hilarious.
I'm literally a legacy nurse player with pretty much every killer maxed out, I know a lot about killers and I guarantee you that with the new patch tunneling&camping would go rampant with DS nerfs and a lot of discouragement not to tunnel in the first place.
But sure, keep coping and making futile attempts to dismiss my opinion by trying to call me biased, that is a telltale sign of your weak position.
-
@INoLuv said:
the survs got a even easier game, is a lie that the nerf was awful for survs and camping/tunneling is rushing the killer objective, no need to whine about it at all, devs did balance well
hope you'll have fun being tunneled out even faster than before, lmao
-
@TheLastHook said:
Play killer then. Let's see how long until you decide to go back to Survivor. LOL.
1) Tunneling does not exist, it's called playing Killer.
2) Camping is called "guarding" and it's a valid strategy like any other. Plus Survivors other than the one in the hook actually love it, it kicks their dopamine level while they body block, rescue, etc.
it's hilarious that whenever killer/survivor mains run out of arguments they pull out "we're the harder side" card. It's pathetic.
It is an objective fact tunneling&camping are more efficient wtih this patch and the fact you refuse to acknowledge it is sad.

You're mistaking Tunneling being an effective tactic vs how easy it is. In a way you're right tunnelling is easy to do, you're only focused on 1 guy however there's plenty to counter it , BT, DH, DS, Bodyblocking, OTR (soon).
Tunneling has worked since always because it's one of the options. How effective it is is debatable. If you enjoy tunneling or think tunneling is the only thing you can or should do then that's you but i sincerely disagreee both in it's effectiveness and in it's ease of use.
Why do you think DS is strong in endgame? It guarantees the Survivor a huge distance lead. You can't tunnel them. For you to tunnel them they either have to Miss the skillcheck or they have to be completly clueless on where to go and even then the distance they can make is so big that wasting that lead and not knowing where to go is a double gigantic mistake from the survivor. Even with NOED you can still lose a survivor because of DS.
DS deactivating in endgame is great for killers and general health of the game because of the base kit BT changes and the changes made to OTR. You're still guaranteed an Endurance effect so you still have the same chance as you had with DS. Now if DS remained the same and killer somehow downed the survivor with another hit, then they'd still have DS, it would take another hit to take them down, can you long this would take? DS needs to deactivate during endgame.
What the hell does BBQ have to do with Tunneling or camping? If you're camping or tunneling then you're only looking for 1 guy, how is 25% more BP worth it over chasing and hooking all 4?
You're getting more BP from securing the 4 stacks then camping 1 guy and you're also making better match progress since Hooking all 4 survivors once is one the Emblem requirements. Therefore having BBQ does not promote camping or tunneling...Same as not having the stacks does not promote camping and tunneling. Camping with 1 BBQ stack is the exact same as not having stacks. The difference is minimal. If that's your reasoning then use a Pudding, it's guaranteed 100% more points instead of that 25% from 1 stack.
I`m not going to respond to the rest, because it doesn't address any single of my arguments, but there's one thing that has something to do with it.
>What the hell does BBQ have to do with Tunneling or camping? If you're camping or tunneling then you're only looking for 1 guy, how is 25% more BP worth it over chasing and hooking all 4?
Probably because it encourages NOT camping and tunneling by giving you bloodpoints for hooking different people. I thought it was very obvious.

@lemonsway said:
Is this bait? It feels like bait. Killers are better in chases. No only E for Distance is dead, which means you have a chance at getting them, but they also went ahead and reduced killers recovery from some actions. Plus the stackability of some killer perks remains ( at least until further notice) the same and they nerfed the distance survivors get from being hit. All together makes for more engagement in chases which favours killers. There's more incentives to chasing than camping and slugging.
The 10 extra seconds for each gen amount to 50 seconds in general, something that Prove THyself, 2 survivors or a toolbox compensate for and will still be troublesome if you're stacking these conditions. Thus those 10 seconds are relatively short when it comes to improving camping.
why would I want to engage in different chases if I can just pull off ol` reliable proxy camp & tunnel right off hook every time? I eat DS once (if they even have it) and get a free kill in a minute.
Sure, chases got easier and tunneling got even easier, just as not tunneling lost any incentive because no BBQ bonus or anything else like it.
-
@burt0r said:
Let just correct you on one point.
The gen time increase won't be 50 seconds ON AVERAGE but AT MAXIMUM not taking gen slowdown perks into consideration because you can't possibly put an average on all different slowdown/gen speedup perk combinations coupled with killer characters, maps and survivor premade group sizes.
If you talk about average, the only one you could halfway reliable mention would be the 12,5 extra seconds it would be with all 4 survivor working non stop on separate gens and even that doesn't add up because they would start working together for the last one messing up that average.
And normally it isn't even 4 survivor working at all times but 2-3 gens popping at first hook (then less likely with the time increase) and then 2 survivor tops working parallel.
And I am not up for the task to calculate that in every possible combination.
Tldr: it is impossible to put an average on the increased trial length due to gen time increase.
right, but it's still is an increase, on top of everything else it's just a sick joke
-
that's just a shinier glitter in the "choose the character" menu.
NOTHING ELSE.
That's so bad.
-
they also need to get rid of the "priority" algorithm (If you TP to a cluster of lockers, you are forced into the locked locker if there's any or in the locker which is being interacted by the survivor).
I think it's plain unfair to the Dredge, because it completely negates the "locks work only once" thing by allowing survivors to maximise the efficiency of cluster lockers by locking only one instead of all of them.
I believe if survivors want to increase efficiency of locking lockers, they should play a guessing game, just like Dredge and guess which locker is Dredge going to choose and lock it or lock them all if they want guarantee in delaying Dredge's attack.
It's just cheap that survivors can delay Dredge multiple times in the same location because of that priority mechanic and the fact this mechanic "kinda" benefits Dredge in those rare occasions when he is lucky to TP to lockers when survivors are interacting with them is not helping.

According to the developer response on this thread, your artist perks will automatically appear on all your other characters since you unlocked the teachables under the current system.
tier 1 or tier 3? according to them it's just tier 1 and not a word about them being in a bloodweb
-
@Peanits said:
They'll continue to work, and you'll even receive the tier 1 versions of the perks on your other characters automatically.
would we keep getting them in bloodwebs in case we dont want to prestige a character whose teachables we're using?
i/e I have artist lvl 40 and right now I have her teachable perks appearing in bloodwebs of my other killers, but what happens after the update if I decide to get her teachables on a characters I haven't got them so far?

You forgot the second part
-
I`m with you here.
I should note that survivors aren't any better when I myself play killer, but overall increase in sweatlords is insane.
I haven't been dealing with that amount of straight up tunneling, camping and slugging killers in a while. That's getting really annoying and frustrating, you try to play chill, run cakes, try to earn a lot of bloodpoints, while the people on the other side tryhard as if they are on a tournament where killing everyone at 5 gens through endless slugging is considered a win.
I`m not even asking to farm or anything, I know people want to play the game, but for god's sake, just chill. If you are so scared of losing, run full slowdown build with deadlock and dms/pain combo and just play fair so that people don't feel discouraged to bring cakes just to get steamrolled by another sweaty tunneler or slugger.
-
why is it a problem?
lockers are blocked to prevent dredge TPing to them across the entire map which, in most scenarios, allows him to either cut off survivors saving hooked one or efficiently trade.
Right now dredge has to wait until survivor is unhooked which gives them enough time to build distance.
Entering the locker to do bad version of insidious bubba is not even an issue, as people described above. It is allowed purely to make TP`ing out easier.

I raise you this. Legit wallhacks, map-wide teleports, solid anti-loop, and a notification anytime someone is too close to the devour
replace lichen with a pumpkin and always carry one portal on yourself.
This way, you can ALWAYS defend your hex totem regardless of where you are standing, as long as you are quick to place the portal & teleport.

Since they mention ELS I think it's just a translation issue.
yup, in Russian localisation The Dredge was translated as "Грязь" which is basically "The Dirt" if translated back.
Other more literate translations sound a lot like special terms for goldseekers&geologists, so the translators stopped at this.
I'm not sure if the killer's name makes much sense in english either. I'd rather have it called "The Egregore" even though that would be too straightforward.

yepp that's 100% correct. If a killer is body blocking someone in a corner - it is completely irrelevant if other survivors are alive to do the objective, the killer is preventing that specific player from taking part in the game, and that's hostage taking (this is of course, if EGC has not yet started).
Is it that big of a difference if a player gets cornered and EGC starts shortly after?

To be fair, "make the match miserable for you" might just be them trying to win. Obviously if they trash talk you in the end of the game, you know why they did it.
I don't think when killer wants to get you over other survivors and then slugs you for the entirety of a bleedout timer while nodding their head is them trying to win.
As for survivors, I rarely see changes in their playstyles except they start teabagging/clicking.
Of course, trashtalking in endgame chat or entitled excuses.
-
Both
"god forbid you play / use what I dislike, this is an unforgivable offense"
If killer gets mad at you for using something they hurt their pride, they do everything in their power to make the match miserable for you, same for survivors except they just start BM`ing and trashtalking, because they aren't changing their playstyle in any way.
-
I don't think that neither makes sense or would be balanced.
If anything, I'd like them to remove directional sound Dredge makes that makes it very easy to locate him during nightfall, although I can see why it is needed.

Russian?
A friend got the same issue but it´s for Steam & games itself.
Yeah, the region block affects a lot of games & in game purchases.
It's still possible to deposit more money on steam wallet if you use some obscure schemes like paying directly from Qiwi wallet with other country's currency, but then you'd lose 10-15%.
Despite that, you still can't buy many things with steam wallet. For example, I don't see any DbD DLCs in store (they are just hidden from me) and when I try to purchase auric cells, I get an error. At the same time, I can freely buy stuff with steam wallet in Valve's games, like Dota2 or purchase things on Steam Market.
-
I won't be buying it myself, because BHVR doesn't want to accept my money from steam wallet, but I`d probably get the characters for shards or get it through gift.
-
@MilManson said:

Yep im saving up shards for it. First chapter dlc i am not buying. Dredge looks great, but haddie's perks are tremendously disappointing.
I did play him on PTB and he feels great to play. I think this video really showcases how good he feels
Compared to sadako it exits lockers really quickly and there is an add-on called Haddie's Calendar that reduces this by 1 second which is crazy. That might get nerfed but we'll see.
I made this guide that contains useful information about Dredge that the game doesn't tell you.

Gonna be honest, That was a long read. A TDLR would have been cool, but either way yeah I agree to an extent.
I remember I was the last Survivor, I was injured & I had a head on challenge from the Tome with Jane and this doctor literally stood at the side of the locker and messaged me via PS to tell me “We can stand here all day… you’re not head-on’ing me”
I let them know I was not trying to be a douche, I just had a challenge and they were like “Idc… not falling for it.” We literally stood there for like a minute and a half messaging until I got crows, and for some reason the Killer had no idea that once crows were involved my head-on doesn’t work so I finally got out of the locker after my last message & was slugged for the entire bleed out bar for it while the Killer continuously sent me messages to rub it in my face.
I literally just wanted to complete my challenge and I would have happily gave them the kill, and even if they didn’t let me, I got out of the locker to make them feel like I wasn’t being an a-hole but still got slugged and ######### talked.
Also this. It seems a lot of killer players unironically consider Head On stuns a hanging offence

No, I`m not being a hypocrite, my worst sin is letting an entire team bleed out after a few minutes of teabagging at pallets and flashlight clicks. You did this because of a perceived injustice from the other side. Killers are going to see some of your builds or your style of play as a perceived injustice, and do the same to you. I think you've answered your own question here.
I think there's a huge difference between unambiguous bad manners aka toxicity and running builds other side dislikes.

That's not how nurse works, but k, let's agree to disagree.

@ColonGlock said:
When I play killer survivors who are hiding all match enrage me as this means fewer blood points. I would rather have a group of clickers sashaying backwards.
Some players cannot accept any defeat and would do anything to prevent it regardless of the fairness. As you might imagine they have other mental problems as well.
Hiding survivors are a pain, but I personally never remember myself acting toxic towards them purely for that.
Even in the worst situations when survivors are literally keeping the game hostage, I still don't resort to petty answer like that.
As for chase dropping builds, never had a problem with that either, at least not with the people using them.
But yeah, a lot of people I've encountered think that the only way they can heal their hurt ego is by washing off shame with blood and bming.

The end of the spectrum should be "game is tryhard sided".
Whoever decides to use the most broken stuff and strategies wins, no exception.
And in games where strongest Nurse mains with best addons and strongest build plays against legacy 3 SWF that has won every single tournament, while all are running the best perks possible, no balance talk is valid. At this point those matches a flip of a coin where whoever gets the better map and spawns wins.

@KateMain86 said:
I wonder if the meta changes coming will change situations like this over time. Sometimes if you do anything more than just run in the open the killers get mad at you. You never know when hitting that solo que ready button.
Yeah, I really hope meta changes would address those issues too.
I`m all in for fixes to tunnelling/camping, but only if devs would also make some changes to make healthier playstyles more valid, as right now it's understandable to camp if a regular chase against a semi competent survivor losing you at least a gen.
-
I just hope they don't nuke those perks that are super good on a few killers and are almost universally used on them because they complement them so well.
Also, Bamboozle. It must stay. It's so helpful for m1 killers.
-
I miss old window grab animation. It was hella long, but it was much more satisfying than current shoulder pat.
Old lighting and fog were also greater. I really do miss when the map was entirely clogged with the fog and you could actually see it. Right now black fog is nonexistent.
-
@Sluzzy make a post about Dredge and his georgious antiloop power, I`m sure there's enough material for you
-
I think there is no lore reason why those specific killers. They are just placeholders because they'd probably fit their counterpart the most. Like Minotaur would probably have a charge power and ability to bash survivors into the ground, while Krampus would be insidious killer who catches its prey with traps. Surely, if they were to be made complete characters, they'd probably have much more creative and themed power, but alas.
In fact, legendary/ultra rare skins (with a few exceptions) are basically separate characters that are roaming the trials alongside known and unknown characters.
They just weren't significant/outstanding enough to deserve to be a complete characters, but still are famous enough to deserve a spot.
Literally honourable mentions.
-
to be fair, nurse is the only killer in the game who has to exclusively rely on her power to get hits.
excluding a few specific scenarios, nurse never gets actual m1 hits.
killers like blight can get m1 hits without their powers fairly often, unlike nurse
-
Yeah, right.
DELETE.
