There's difference between trying to curve and reving for longer (here heat mechanics could be more lenient) and having m2 always ready no mayter what. Also camping billy is a factor and if we don't want to disable m2 near hook, overheat has to stay.
Also it's hard to distinguish between curving case and just infinite prepared m2. So even though I think Billy should get some slight buff, overheat should stay IMO
Overheating doesn't affect camping though?
Like seriously, you're overestimating how debilitating that is when Billy doesn't need to constantly rev it.

This isn't going to happen because BHVR wants money.
This isn't me speculating and assuming the worst in a company, they have pointed out that making shards easier to get means people are less pressured to pay for characters.

I have to be honest, the community is toxic enough without the ability to sling racial slurs at me.

it's tunneling the moment the killer ONLY goes for you. the time span between that doesn't matter at all. if they ignore other survivors intentionally and only go for you then it's tunneling. it doesn't have to be right off the hook to be called tunneling.
If the killer is throwing the game to the point that they attempt to track you down across the map instead of going after other players, you start hiding and avoiding generators like the plague. If the killer is explicitly abandoning or not even interacting with other survivors, then he's doing the bare minimum if even that for gen protecting and your undisturbed teammates will do the work for you.
Any survivor with basic knowledge will realize what's going on and attempt to make themselves a target and hinder the killer and will realize why you're spending the rest of the game doing a Blendette impression.

The knight is stale af worst killer in the game due to the fact of no counter play really sets down at every loop and most of them love camping hence why they need the ai would remove him entirely in my opinion vittorio is mid as well and so are his perks really except potential energy but very situational tbh
I too want to play as a killer without any power whatsoever.

The point of any game is to try to win it. Fun is a byproduct of a well-crafted game.
Frankly it's just weird to postulate that people should not try to win at a game.
The point of food is to eat it. If it's made well, you'll probably enjoy it.
The point of a beverage is to drink it. If it's made well, you'll probably enjoy it.
The point of a game is to try to win it. If it's made well, you'll probably have fun.
It's starting to feel like a lot of people who play DbD don't actually understand what a game is in the first place. PvP games are a contest by nature, the whole concept is to try to outplay the other player. If you're expecting PvP games to act like some kind of vending machine spitting out personalized packages of fun every time, then you might actually have a better experience playing single-player rather than PvP titles.
So I guess I have to specifically say "Having fun in a way that robs other people of their fun is a ######### thing to do"?
I'm not saying you're wrong in playing to win, but doing it by doing the thing everyone hates, slugging for no reason, tunneling early, tea-bagging at the exit gates, I have to ask.
What part of tea-bagging at the exit gates is so fun for you? How is it supposed to be fun for me?

I disagree. People are people and you will never change them.
What you can do, is align both sides closer together. This means make "boring stuff" (camp/tunnel/genrush) not "meta". Make chases longer, gens easier to finish but at the same time longer to do. Make altruistic plays more rewarding and make camping and tunneling actually so hard, that the best strategy is something else.
Overall the idea is to make things considered by community "fun" actual meta and things considered "boring" or "unfun for both sides" possible, but not really good thing.
You're conjuring up a pipe dream. Anyone can say "This should work in a way that's better for everyone" but actually coming up for ideas seems to be too difficult for most.
I mean, off the top of my head, making gens easier means removing the skill check system, which is the only thing that prevents me from dying from boredom on them.
-
Please, keep encouraging awful business practices.
-
People who play the game to win instead of just having fun is a community problem, not a problem with the game itself.
-
"The killers power is bad because it's too powerful" is a hell of a take for the Knight.
Knight has a laundry list of weaknesses. Use them.
-
I wouldn't be against a game with board game rules on the goal.
Unfortunately, it also means that a sore loser who was mildly inconvenienced would bring the entire team with them even harder than they already do.
-
Ya know what, it's not my fault that you spend so much time staring at a survivor that probably doesn't have it in the first place that you're running a horse race around the map.
If you're literally spending a minute looking at people, it's time you stop blaming Dead Hard and start blaming your own decisions to throw away the game.
-
I agree that Knight is boring no matter which side your on, but gimping his power isn't the answer.
-
Knight has a laundry list of weaknesses, why do you want to add to that?
-
I'm sorry are we in some alternative universe where the gameplay for both sides of DBD are exactly the same?
You can't wait out eruption mate. Once it's applied it's on there until it gets used. If you wait it out you accomplish literally nothing until someone goes down which, let's just use the above example for this one, means you're waiting more than a minute standing there with your thumb up your ass.
Even if you have no perks or items whatsoever chances are the generator would be done within that time.
Countering Dead Hard requires being unpredictable. Countering Eruption requires being a ######### psychic.
-
Here's the problem with that logic.
I cannot go a single day without at least one survivor who wants to tea bag at the gates unless I explicitly get a 4k on the match.
But the last time I ran into a toxic killer was like a month ago against a Nurse that just downed everyone and put people on the hook one at a time so there was no chance of winning.
I play a single game for each side per day, so why is it taking a month to run into a single bad killer but I can literally run into an entire team of survivors almost daily that want to prove how awful they are.

And the Survivor has Dead Hard until they press E. I've seen Killers with thousands of hours spend over a minute waiting out Dead Hard. And I guarantee you, had they actually swung into it in the end, you'd be the first to say, "It was so obvious, shouldn't have fallen for it".
If someone actually mind games you into sniffing their ass for a literal minute and still manages to land the Dead Hard it's not someone having a crutch perk, it's someone having a good reaction.
I've noticed nobody likes to talk about the Dead Hards that don't work because they didn't push it early enough.
-
I will say hitting on hook has a purpose, specifically the fact that the guy screaming is significantly louder than grunts of pain and other noise survivors may make. I almost never do it myself but if someone wants to be thorough then whatever.
More than once is just being an ass though.
But as pointed out while there are definitely awful killer players, awful survivor players are significantly higher than the proportion should be. I can sometimes go months without finding a killer doing something awful, but the number of days on any given month where I haven't seen a survivor waste my time tea bagging at the gate can be counted on one hand (this is keeping in mind that I play one game per side a day because I can't tolerate this anymore). The number of days they try to justify or straight up lie about it need no more than both hands (I've literally been told by someone crouching at the gate for a solid half a minute that they were walking out).
It's gotten to the point that I'm just DCing if I don't have a kill because I'm not getting a lot for it anyways and I literally have every perk unlocked for every character at the moment, and all that time I can't play publicly is time I can spend practicing Nurse.
-
Devs mentioned something about how annoying spending BP is on the blood web in their roadmap update recently. It would be a good idea to wait a little longer to see what they're talking about I think.

Then I am not misinterpreting. You literally just repeated what I had said.
Firstly, most survivors will not waste their DH on a lunge not going to hit them. That's assuming the survivor is really bad.
Secondly, even if the survivor is bad and somehow that did happen, that miss is allowing them enough time to reach a pallet or window defeating the point.
However that second point is still quite irrelevant as survivors that are that bad are not an issue with DH, it's survivors that aren't bad. I'm not arguing DH doesn't take a lot of skill, it does, I'm arguing it's unhealthy in design/unfun and power level.
You're assuming people just know when someone is going to hit them. You have less than a single second to determine that the killer that is in striking distance is going to hit you or swerve out of the way. You have to determine, within that time, what they are going to do.
Ya know, that whole "Mind Gaming" thing people claim to like?

Eruption can be countered by waiting it out. Stop repairing until the person that is being chased is downed, the gen pops and you can keep repairing it. Hell with the new HUD you can even know when the non-obsession is being chased.
But let's be honest, no one is going to do that because it is "not fun" to do nothing until eruption pops, and that's actually pretty understandable.
And the exact same thing can be said about DH.
"Eruption can be countered by waiting it out."
My brother in the fog, Eruption is on the generator until somebody goes down.
What are you talking about waiting it out?
What if that survivor is good at chases and they don't go down for minutes? What if the killer has no idea what the words "Abandon Chase" mean? Are you really going to "wait it out" when you could complete the generator 4 times in the time it takes for them to go down?
No. No, the exact same thing CAN'T be said about DH. You can play around DH, change your strategies on the fly, purposefully miss attacks. You can't psychically guess when a survivor is about to go down.
-
"Its little bad if a new player is intimidated in playing nurse because the mechanic is not intuitive for the player to begin learning."
This is why there's an Add-On to help you get used to her. Once you feel comfortable with that you can start trying without it.
Look, if this was a perfect game, every killer would be fun to play as and against and would have a low skill floor and a high skill ceiling.
But the game is managed by BHVR and, to be frank, even if the game WAS perfect there would still be people complaining how awful and imbalanced the game is.

pinhead can see where he opens his gateway and pinhead is not OP. it helps beginner player who are visual based. I think it would help nurses that just started playing nurse while experienced nurses would turn off/not use it.
I can't believe I have to point this out, but Pinhead and Nurse are two completely different playstyles.
Pinhead isn't OP because even with the information of exactly where he's going to shoot his chain because his power ######### sucks.
Knowing where you're going to be as Nurse is the difference between hitting a survivor and angrily stabbing a wall.
Nurse is incredibly strong. She needs to have SOMETHING that makes her harder to use to compensate.
-
Killing yourself on hook and legitimately trying to unhook yourself are legitimately difficult to tell the difference of, as is missing the second skill check on the hook so that the hatch will spawn sooner.
That being said yeah. There is literally no reason everyone should be punished because one person DC'd at a minor inconvenience and doomed everyone else to an unwinnable game. If someone DCs, then they (and only they) should be punished for it.
I mean come on, even Nintendo knows to do this.
-
Technically it's not about getting put in the basement, it's a time limit for the killer to actually find something. When unimpeded the Killer is supposed to be able to get someone on a hook every single time.
It's up to the rest of the team to distract and hinder the killer until that timer is up, either by body blocking the killer to the point they have to waste time hitting you, sabotaging hooks so the killer has to go a longer distance, or by pallet smashing or blinding them into letting the survivor go.
If you're actively not struggling, you're just signaling that you give up.
-
I said they couldn't do worse than The Knight.
They took that as a challenge.
-
They mentioned something about this in the last roadmap update, check the patch notes.

This is like saying "you can just let go of the gen" in response to Eruption criticism.
As TC rightly says, this means you cannot use a Lunge attack without risking a DH. You're denied half of your basic tools for injuring survivors.
lol no?
The only counter to eruption is SWF comms. Deadhard can be countered by waiting it out, using a perk/add-on/killer ability that inflicts Deep Wound, or forcing exhaustion in some way. It also can't be used with other exhaustion perks, so if you see one be used you can deep lunge away.
-
Making it take longer to do gens isn't going to fix tunneling because people will tunnel regardless of what you do.
-
How is the game supposed to know?
You are not answering this question, you're just repeating yourself!
The game is just made the way it is and there are awful people that will exploit it.
But punishing people that are actively being pressured, because they're really unlucky for the round or something, is not the answer!

no it doesn't. even when i get unhooked while the killer is all across the other side of the map i will get tunneled. they will just search for that one person and go for them only. nothing is solved with that especially if it's a very strong killer that can easily down you. even if you healed in safety and they come back at that time and tunnel you then what do you do? if you get tunneled u will be hooked again and then again.
My friend.
The killer finding you a second time
is not tunneling.

Knowing the exact location you're going to be at the end of a teleport doesn't make it easier to play her?

Honestly, Im just going to say it, the Knight is not as bad as people make them out to be. The only "issue" the Knight has is that their power is boring to play with and against.
I have always stood by the idea that Dream Pallet Freddy and Sadako are the worst Killers in the game atm, mostly leaning towards DP Freddy, since their power is entirely countered by memorization (and soon to be Any Means Necessary since you can just drop all the DPs and reset any actual pallets with no consequence).
The problem with Knight is most of whether his ability is useful or not comes from loop denial. Once that happens, either you get a free hit or another loop is connected to the one you're currently at. If you try to use the Knight any other way any survivor worth their salt is going to avoid triggering your guard, outrun them, or use them to get away from you faster. Artist can do all of this but better.
His only other strength is 3 gens, and being able to keep one person occupied while you patrol the gens isn't that good of a trade. At worst, one person is being chased by a guard, one by you, and the other two are doing Gens. Off the top of my head, Wesker is a better choice for this.
And as you mentioned, just playing as him is boring.
-
I'm sorry but if they were turned on by default Nurse use would skyrocket from the skill floor dropping.

What's the purpose of crows again?
To point to the killer when someone is standing still doing nothing for a large amount of time.
Something that doesn't happen if a survivor is constantly moving from locker to locker in the basement.
-
Oh boy.
I guess if no one rigged the map, people are of similar skill, all that, things as balanced as possible.
Freddy I think on average.
Knight has an advantage indoors.
Twins is just difficult to actually play but can be nasty in the right hands.
And Clown I feel gets a bad reputation because nobody wants to use yellow bottles.
Freddy on the other hand gets less teleport spots as time goes on and his abilities otherwise only work when people are asleep. Being unable to see him far away most of the time generally doesn't do that much.
-
This just in, using common sense tactics is too idealistic.
The number of tunneling incidents would reduce if people waited for the killer to be out of ear shot, or at LEAST wait for someone else to provide a distraction.
It's not hard.
-
The other boon perks are a joke too, but apparently because one very specific perk was mentioned I'm in the wrong.
What else is new.
-
I have never seen anyone get any value out of those two seconds.
It's more often I would down them 10 seconds later.
-
An Idea I had for Trapper was that his traps would be in lockers.
The way it would work is Trapper always get the same number of traps but could fetch them from any locker. To prevent easy 3 gen set up, Trapper would only be able to get 1 trap from a locker or locker set (think the lockers where you only need to lock one to make sure Dredge is always in a locked locker). Nearby lockers would have their aura revealed when you were nearby, and lockers you already took a trap from would be yellow. Once you collected all of your traps, the locker aura would go away.
I have a couple reasons for this. One, it would prevent traps from spawning in the worst places possible and would allow the trapper to get his traps more easily. It would also allow him multiple places to get new traps until all of them are on the map, so you don't get a situation of traps suddenly being in a generator dead zone.
Two, it would be harder to guess the killer early. Is the reason you haven't heard a terror radius for two minutes because of a stealth killer? Or is it because trapper is setting up danger zones away from you? Does the trap in the locker confirm the killer? Or does it only confirm it's not Huntress and Trickster?
Three, Trappers favorite spot, the basement, has even more reasons to go down there. Didn't get all your traps and managed to get someone in the basement? You can now get up to two traps right there.
It has issues. Interacting with lockers for your stuff isn't ideal. But honestly I'd take it over going to the corner of the swamp again.
-
Yes, please punish the people that like playing what they like to play because they're not the only ones doing it because you don't want to.
Don't want to play against a specific killer, then pick the killer yourself.
-
Here's my solution to tunneling.
Quit the game and turn on something else.
Tunneling will either always be an issue or the game will end up being so survivor sided that kill rates will drop too close to single digit percentages.
Not because tunneling is the only way to get kills supposedly, but because survivors will use every safety net they're given in the most offensive method possible.
Case in point, BK Borrowed Time. How often will rescued survivors go out of their way to take a hit and then complain about you refusing to swing at them until 12 seconds pass? ESPECIALLY when they stand still in a doorway.
-
I love how bringing any boon that isn't CoH is being a troll.
Classic.
-
Yes, I too would like to give survivors an I win button.
-
I don't think people are confused why De-pipping was a thing so much as why it's still a thing now.
It just serves no purpose anymore.
-
Most, if not all, of his add-ons are based around his guards, which are basically the weakest part about him.
Everything about this killer needs to be changed.
-
lol no
It's worthless if absolutely everyone isn't injured or hooked, and that can be countered by bringing a medkit or cleansing on a dead fountain.
