There is no way 2 seconds less stun is the cause, rather its Survivors thinking its a bad perk and then not using it when its still good.

2 seconds is getting off the shoulders off the killer where as usually you would have 3 second head start ds is just useless now and everyone I see runs it uses it then gets downed straight after it’s pathetic

Don't get me wrong, nuking perks is something I don't think should be the go-to solution to this issue. But what else are you going to do at this point? The pick rate shouldn't be as high as it is. Especially when that perk requires counterplay that consists of waiting.

Reasonable nerfs aren't going to cut it because there are too many people that will not stop bringing DH religiously. The remaining options are to nuke DH or to rework it from the ground up. I'm fine with either of those.

I just want that stupid waiting and spinning to bait out a hit or giving free health states in my matches to end.

You guys really mad because people like and pick a perk most survivors don’t even hit their dead hard I see people fail it all the time you need to practice with it people pick it cause they see everyone else using it

After all, it comes to player's satisfaction. As Peanits and Dave Richard said, when something becomes "unfun" for a good portion of the playerbase or highly used invoking a negative gameplay experience, it requires changes.

DbD should be a fun game for both parties, I feel like Dead Hard despite its skill required for each use, it has become problematic for the players again (not everyone to mention)

Dead Hard highlights what the developers said:

    • high usage amount - check
    • unfun - check
    • (this is a bonus, speaking of the meta shake-up in 6.1.0 that didn't do anything on this perk alone, that's still in for 6 years)

High usage amount - highly spammed in high mmr brackets

Unfun - for a portion of the playerbase

Admittedly not as bad as other perks in DbD's history but following the track.

A small portion most of us really like dead hard Who is the majority us so keep dreaming kiddo

But current DH is also one of few anti-camp and anti-tunnel (of sorts, u need ds to reset bleeding) perks we have right now.

To save against camping bubba - it's better to be injured and have DH ready. It's super hard, but possible. Without DH there's just adrenaline if it's last gen and maaaaybe soulguard/wglf (presumes pallet or flashlight without lightborn and very good team - not SWF exclusive this time). Styptic will not help this time because of long activation time+unhooking is conspicuous action.

Even if I don't use DH, it would be very sad to loose it - because a lot of situations that are almost hopeless would become totally impossible.

I play solo q everyday to feel drained and have a headache a few hours into play from all the camping and tunnelling and they wanna talk about dead hard yeah right I go to killer for a break should explain a lil something and I don’t camp or tunnel and make people miserable and still have fun but guess these guys can’t

Yeah that’s what I keep trying to get into the nerf dead hard threads it’s a fun and useful perk and BHVR can’t change it because potatoes want a easier game the survivor gameplay is already horrible as it is with all the camping and tunnelling that’s why I have a decisive strike thread that none of the devs have even bothered to acknowledge but trust me they know they probably read it they just don’t reply but will happily shoot down a iron will post that was made the devs need to take action the fact is killer was never meant to be easy and they all play sweaty like a comp tournament so I’ll keep my dead hard thanks lol if they removed it they are spineless idiots that go back on everything

Really enjoy some of his ideas. Knight needs to be given counter play to become less hated and boring for survivors.

What do you think, especially if you play Knight?

The knight has no counter play especially when all he does is set down at loops and after he injures a survivor can put one back on the same survivor straight away it’s boring and honestly the fattest L this team has done ever

  • @Gandor said:

It was tried and BHVR and killers did not like it, because of stacked health.

IMO the perk is bad as anti-tunnel perk but nasty surprise when abused (getting healed by other survivor and then forcing a chase for guaranteed 3 health states).

To fix this, your idea goes good direction, but actually does not wait for other foot to drop. In my opinion being healed by someone means you are not really being tunneled - so the perk should deactivate (or at least endurance part) when healed.

i would happily remove dead hard to have old ds back we need better anti tunnelling perks

    ANOTHER DEAD HARD THREAD!!!

Im going to continue it now! Here’s a new argument I have with the perk. We shouldn’t have a perk that makes the killer thinking twice about hitting there prey. Imagine if in call of duty there was a perk to make you invincible from grenades and bullets and you couldn’t shoot the guy if you found them?

That’s bad game design. If I find a survivor that’s injured I deserve that down. It breaks the immersion cause you have to sniff at there ass just make sure they don’t have it where I would have just downed them. You shouldn’t have to completely change your gameplay just to counter 1 perk.

I hope this attention brings this issue to light.

It’s one of the only counters against a good nurse as well so your basically making nurse even more over powered you guys seriously sound ridiculous making paragraphs for a perk you can’t even use yourself hahaha go into a trial a higher mmr one and use dead hard more than once my guy once the killer knows you have it it’s pretty pointless unless you get good timing not to mention latency

Let me provide my feedback in the same thread.

A perk that is used in every match (almost) up to 4 times... for 6 years is a red flag. Alright?

We are surely dealing and baiting it out... but it's *everytime*

And are people not allowed to use perks fml get a grip please

  • Here is my take get over it ? It’s easy to bait if this gets a nerf cause of potatoes I’m leaving the game is pathetic if dead hard leave the game decisive strike gets a 5 second buff and works end game killers aren’t gonna make this game easier for themselves it’s too easy all ready most just camp tunnel and three gen it’s pathetic

Many months ago you claimed the mid chapter patches will be used to address newly released killers. That happened maybe twice since announcing it like two years ago.

Why is it that onryo is still heavily addon reliant? Why is knight still incredibly unfun to play as and against? Why is the dredge still incapable of teleporting to an unlocked locker if there is a locked one directly next to it? Why does pyramid head have no good add-ons while pinhead has one of the most busted add-ons ever (engineers fang). Why are killers like demo allowed to be basically hard countered by one perk (dh)? Why has every map that has released the last two years been *incredibly* survivor sided? Hell even survivors don't like the new maps.

It's crazy to me that if BHVR were to just listen to some of the bigger content creators that are sharing our points of view the game would be in a much better state yet they never do.

Why is TWINS STILL BUGGED? You are literally charging money for a broken chapter on Steam.

Shame on you BHVR. Please do better.

Because making every killer op or on blight nurse level would make the game stupid it’s nice to have a break from blight nurse and wesker and their are some cracked pyramid heads

I am still waiting for them to revert Eruption but they don't revert changes for killers ever.

Hmmmmmmmmmm maybe because eruption is overpowered they nerfed many survivor perks eruption will never be buffed again and the aura reading and the hen regression paired with your other favourite slowdown perks will make the game just as stale dw

Honestly, I do not see the point in running Myers over a Killer like Ghostface since Ghostface has built in stealth (with Undetectable) and 60 second Exposed similar to Myers, and has the ability to get downs more consistently. I think Myers just needs something a bit extra to help them stand out but also make them seem more threatening.

I personally think Myers should have some changes to help him out:

    • Base Exposed duration increased from 60 seconds to 80 seconds.
    • The amount of stalk that is needed to reach Tier 2 Evil Within has been decreased by 30%.
    • The base amount of stalk that can be pulled from a Survivor is doubled.
    • When a Survivor is fully stalked, they become mori-able.
    • Reworked tombstone addons (decreases the base amount of stalk needed to pull before a Survivor becomes mori-able, but mori becomes only applicable to a limited amount of Survivors based on addon rarity); rework other addons (stalk speed addons also increase the total amount of stalk that can be pulled from a Survivor, providing some sort of drawback and benefit); etc.

So make myers op he’s fine the way he is lol not every killer is gonna be op and every change idea I see is just unreasonable the reason the tombstone add ons are like they are is cause if they weren’t they would be overpowered keep dreaming chap

Okay, my idea is to bring back the old DH where you'd get distance, BUT, a killer would be able to hit you as you're dashing.

I remember that was always the thing that peeved me off the most. A survivor could just turn to me a dash through my swing without being hurt.

Of course a survivor would still get exhausted.

Also, the distance would only be about 2/3 of what old dead hard actually gave you, meaning that a survivor would only be able to use it to only get a slight bit of distance in chase. This would make it so even if a survivor used DH right in front of a killer, they could lunge and down them. No more avoiding lunges.

    To summarize:

    • Survivors can use DH to dash 2/3 of what old DH would give them.
    • Survivors would still get exhausted
    • A killer can still down a survivor mid-dash, forcing them to use it to gain a little distance in chase and not some third health state or crazy juke.
    • No more avoiding lunges since the distance of the dash is decreased.
    • You CANNOT DH over bear-traps or hag-traps, Pyramid Head's trail, etc. without them giving you their respective effects and such.

    NEW Perk Desc.

    Activate-able Perk.

    You can take a beating.

When Injured, tap into your adrenaline bank and dash forward quickly to give yourself some time.

    • Press the Active Ability button while running to dash forward.

Dead Hard causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds

Dead Hard cannot be used when Exhausted.

I'll post this is suggestions after people give their two-cents. Things may change obv. because of suggestions.

The fact people think a nerf to dead hard is coming is laughable too many people run/like this perk and it has plenty of counter play for the devs to just nerf it cause a few of you can’t wait it out it’s not gonna get touched and I put money on it now they wouldn’t

Yeah but it will offer a well deserved break and will see a shift in active players and will be harder to find games if Texas chainsaw is as good as it looks you think Lil old dbd with its thousands of problems stale gameplay more campers than a nature reserve will be able to keep up I’m pre ordering that mf

What if we started just by nerfing the most complained about killer perk, and the most complained about survivor perk, which would be eruption and dead hard? OTR is a waste of a perk slot the fact is if I wanted to be quiet I’d run iron will even though that’s been nerfed to the ground the killer just hits me through basekit bt so I might as well not use it

  • @philward1953 said:

Okay, so something that I've been thinking of lately is the question of "what if all the A and S tier perks on both sides were nerfed to bring them down to a B or C tier?"

I started thinking of this after I considered how there are so many perks in the game, and I usually only see about 20-30 perks in circulation when I play. On both sides. This got me thinking of how so many perks are so powerful that a survivor or killer can plainly argue that they must rely on them to win.

On the survivor side, we have perks like Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Iron Will, Windows of Opportunity, Adrenaline, Self-Care, Prove Thyself, etc.,

On the killer side, we have perks like BBQ, Eruption, Deadlock, Pain Res., STBFL, Lethal Pursuer, Pop Goes the Weasel, etc.

I'm just wondering if all these perks were nerfed so hard to the point where most perks could all be considered what is B-tier now, would skillful gameplay rise?

Obviously, a lot of these perks are very different, some each would have to be nerfed in different ways as they are used during different times within a match and in different scenarios. Some would have to be technically nerfed less than others.

I also wonder if we would see less metas formed if all perks were made with the intent of them offering very little value to a player. (Probably not as specific builds could see more of a rise with every new DLC and such)

If you ask me, I think the game would be better off if perks and items offered basically as little as possible to a player, at least alone, specific builds would obviously add value to each perk. I wish the game put more onto the player's actual skill instead of how they use their perks within a match (which I know, corresponds to their skill, but I think it is a specific section of a player's overall skill). I also wish the devs stamped out every meta when they see them form (not perk combos, METAS, the popularity makes a difference).

Maybe I'm crazy. As someone who plays both sides I'll admit I love my BBQ and Windows.

Edit: I love how everyone is focused on which perks I picked to represent the "powerful" side of perks. Some are up their because I often see them in circulation, other are there because I legit just looked up "most powerful" or "most used" DBD perks. I'll give you all Deadlock, Self Care, and Eruption (because its getting nerfed) for perks that shouldn't really be on the lists, but that's all. Remember perks can be powerful in different ways and at different times. As of writing this edit, only three of you have actually put some thought into the idea of "nerfing all powerful perks" to a lower tier. and lessening the effects perks have on a game overall. So thanks to you three 👍️

Also, look at all-powerful Otzdarva's perk tierlists and you will only find slight differences between what he deems powerful perks and what I do.

    https://i.imgur.com/fYz7obB.jpg

    https://i.imgur.com/0PJU7Cp.jpg

yeah because it worked so well last time and hasn’t totally made the game worse no meta shake up is needed to be honest they need to revert perks on both sides cause the mega shake up did more damage than good and by nerfing more perks to the ground it’s just making the game feel even worse just because there are good perks does not result in them needing a nerf

  • @BlueHorkew said:

Then killers will just tunnel with extra time.

I know that tunnel is required sometimes to get the win, but this idea that killers will stop doing it just by getting more time is absurd.

What if you played bad, got destroyed and lost a ton of gens because you committed to a 3 min chase. Will the killer really not tunnel because they think the game was fair.

If the game allows for something to be abused, it will be abused.

If tunneling is the easiest way to win, then why will people stop just because others got easier and didn't nerf tunneling?

Yeah if they nerf all our gen speed perks stacking 4 slowdowns will feel like hell especially when you get killers proxy camping a three gen with cob eruption pain res dead man’s or dead lock I don’t even bring prove or tool boxes but sometimes I wish I did lol cause having a hen eruption then pain res in your face a million times a match is very boring I’d remove all gen speed perks but that means them gen slow downs would need a fat nerf

  • And also because Texas chainsaw isn’t released yet trust that game is gonna bury dbd if they don’t do something fast Friday the 13th was never like this I love dbd a lot but the devs make this game worse all the time to the point where now the game is un enjoyable and just frustrates more than it brings joy which is sad the meta shakeup really did start the beginning of the end also the knight just made the grave deeper so is the skull merchant

Yeah but honestly the tunnelling situation is so bad that this game is unbearable without ds and I know it sounds pathetic but it’s really the truth the amount I’m getting tunnelled over tried otr but they just hit me straight away 80s of endurance with basekit bt does not matter and now I’m just running away in deep wound like even on killer friendly maps with the best killers they will still tunnel I’m having a break for a few weeks even though I only play dbd atm it’s just unbearable

  • @philward1953 said:

OTR is even worse. It does 80s old iron will against hard tunneler and that's it. Against normal killer it promotes unhealthy gameplay where survivor just lets someone heal himself and then go taunt the killer - because now he is guaranteed to have 3 health states.

So in fact the perk does "nothing" to prevent the situation for which it was designed and still leaves "full abuse" case in game anyway. Just pure bad perk.

DS at least still works as a (really #########) anti-tunnel perk as it at least resets 1x per game bleeding status so you can use DH. At least it does something (more then 80s iron will) against hard tunneler. So considering real tunneling killer - DS is the only true self-anti-tunneling perk in the game (I don't count DH as it's 2nd chance that gets enabled by DS).

Yeah I know otr literally is no use at all and the extra effects are just to make it look more flashy it’s useless I’d rather just use basekit bt which killers complain about but you shouldn’t be tunnelling In the first place not that I control what they do but really if your not playing cheap then you won’t get hit with any of these perks I understand at end game if you desperately want a kill lol but no one should be getting tunnelled out at the start

2 seconds actually. The animation takes 1 second so the survivor only has 2 seconds to move before the Stun wears off

Think they are a killer main who likes tunnelling that’s scared of DS coming back lol I really hope they do it’s needed tunnelling should have a counter and if you are getting tunnelled properly they will hit you straight away otr is a waste of a perk slot in im opinion at least ds they actually have to pick you up

I play mostly 2nd tier killers (knight, most recently, Demo). When I did play Nurse. . . . I got just good enough to be mostly proficient.

I guess I don’t see survivors struggling much against me. Only when they get butthurt and DC on first hook.

3 seconds is 12 meters, which the killer can catch up in 7 seconds if everyone goes a straight line. Can’t you get to a tile in 7 seconds?

read my most recent experience with the game and you will understand why ds needs to be buffed pre 60 something nurse running 4 gen slowdown we got the gens done she tunnelled all game then slugged us at the end and wouldn’t let us just move on not to mention 3 gens and just gens blowing up in your face all the time

I think you might need a break. This game can really make you rage and loose all cool.

Honestly, i need to play with friends to not go insane sometimes. But take a break. I do hope that the next patch which will be focused on perk changes will bring a buff to DS. Well, i am hopeful at least.

But don't expect DS to be active in end game. As killer it was really ######### having survivors getting unhooked and just trolling me at the end game because i couldn't pick them up or slug them because all gens were already done and the survivor was invincible, he just wanted to rub it in, waste my time and teabag. DS at the end game can be abused way to much because the killer lost all other possible objective or pressure for it to fair.

I really just want the 5 second stun to be back and punish tunneling

Yeah bro I think I’m gonna take a break this game is draining the life out of me and I only play solo q the nurse done it for me and yeah end game is abit op but like what’s gonna stop this ######### all I want to do is play fair 4gen slowdown and tunnelling is solo q just feels suffocating this is my main game and I love it but just ######### I might sound dramatic but it’s just a bad situation if DS don’t get a buff I don’t see me playing long it gives me a migraine playing solo q atm

  • Why make DS unavailable at crucial times especially when you get sweats like that ruins the whole fun of the game wouldn’t of helped anyways cause she was tunnelling all game but that’s me and dbd done ######### dbd it’s #########

Revert the stun time back to 5 seconds (or bump it up to 4 seconds) and keep the other changes made in 6.1.0.

I get that the perk was used way too often, but making the perk incredibly weak is just as bad as making something incredibly strong.

My thoughts exactly and tunnelling is basically most games now ds isn’t a threat it’s good to have deterrents to stuff like tunnelling

  • @NITRAS42 said:

Blow his mind that wounded survivors lean forward, their hitbox still is the same as uninjured. . . .You can “hit” the body and not hit the hitbox, and hit the hitbox, but not hit the body.

And that the hitbox changes based on actions (ie bigger when healing or doing gens)

Lies and wishful thinking :D the only reason why killer tunneling hardcore now is because they no longer have to fear a DS i.e. free tunnel, most don't have a DS with them but if they also have it with them, the duration is so short that it doesn't matter, bad DS = tunneling meta, We had that before, when enduring had made the dust from DS to 2.5 seconds, people liked to tunnel, when DS were nerfed, people stopped playing DS, most of the matches were like this: no obsasstion = no ds in game and the killers tunneled hardcore, which is why bhvr made it so that there is always an obsesstion in the game so that the killers don't tunnel in completely xDD

"if bhvr really nerfs DS then i will tunnel so hard because you don't have to fear anything" and bhvr do that or why do you think people slugged the survivor for 1min when he was being tunnelled? simply that way ? no of course not! just because they didn't want to eat the DS, which is why the tunneling was also risky

The meta gets extremely narrow as they nerf perks that we’re viable. Like if we still had Ruin, Pop, Thana for example we’d have a little more variety. However yeah essentially if you really care about winning you’ll have the most consistency stacking slowdown/gen regression. You’ll end up losing games that you would have won playing exactly the same if you had ran different perks.

I’d revert the meta change in a heart beat it’s made the game more stale tbh

'Cause different Survivors are different sizes. Survivors have a fixed hitbox at all times when standing or running--it's roughly a vertical cylinder centred around their legs. When injured, you lean forward, but the hitbox doesn't change.

Now, add on that the hatchet collision might be valid on the Killer side (because of latency), and you get your mismatch: the Killer threw a hatchet, it collided with the hitbox, and you were already injured. To you, it looks like it hit behind you, and even if there's no latency, it still collided with the invisible cylinder, not the body.

Oh, and hatchet hitboxes are spherical, which has its clipping issues with terrain, but also turned out to be necessary for people to ever hit the things than if they had a narrow profile. Visually-accurate hitboxes turn into everyone missing everything in this game.

I guess so I just dunno what to do anymore with this game it’s hard when you fall out of love with a game you like so much I still play it cause I’m like yeah let’s hop on dbd to get camped tunnelled and play the same killers over and over hit boxes queue times is there anything not frustrating about this game

Don't even bother coming up with ideas to fix tunneling/camping. That's something BHVR should be working on, they have the money and resources to do it. Why should we who already support them financially bother with this nonsense?

BHVR isn't going to do anything about it, they don't care. All BHVR cares about is $$$. As long as people are happy with cosmetics, they don't care about people actually being happy or disliking the game.

They make weak killers (with insane OP addons) to balance things out which it doesn't. Then, killers complain about survivors being OP, so the camp/tunnel to balance it out.

It's an endless monotonous tiring cycle which is why I find myself playing this game less and less each day, even my friends don't play this game as often anymore, it's boring with all the tunneling/camping.

after Mats badham game I think he supports tunnelling the dweeb

But that's a problem that cuts both ways.

'Make this hitbox worse because it's harder for controller players to dodge it' means that it's harder for controller players to use it. Hitboxes shouldn't be based around KB+M vs Controller or Controller vs KB+M, it's Controllver v Controller and KB+M v KB+M. And, in that scenario, Wesker's release hitbox was too narrow.

Why can’t it be the actual body of your survivor like hatchets hit you even when they are hitting nothing

You have to wait to use Dead Hard before you tank a hit with OTR. If you wait for the killer to hit you with OTR, you still have Dead Hard up to use. So you would have 2 endurance effects. You can't use DH before you tank a hit with OTR.

I’m gonna play a few matches and I’ll report my findings lol but I remember it being very mid last time I tried to get value out of it

Have you considered how much the same controller players (and everyone else) will suffer if you make the hitbox unnecessary narrow? Like every other weird hitbox in the game, latency is like 75% of it.

Yeah I know but controller players have always suffered both sides and can’t keep up with a keyboard and mouse most of the time especially when you can change your sensitivity more than us if you play keyboard and mouse that is

I don't know what you mean exactly by DH not working with OTR. You essentially have 2 endurance effects, just 1 of them you have to earn through timing the Dead Hard right. DS is pretty meh now and the lack of distance you get is not worth it for me. A good build I would try out to fight tunneling would be something like: DH, OTR, Windows, and Adrenaline. Give it a spin, you might be surprised at how many killers will drop chase due to these perks.

Cause if you do a dead hard with otr one cancels out the other as endurance does not stack and if you get hit through basekit bt both becomes useless but im gonna give it a try I still think ds needs its five seconds back tho
