Hooks and campers/tunneling

Hooks are so close together now that it’s almost pointless to struggle you would have to always bring an offering to make them further apart and probably have 2 or more people bring them just to get it back to the way it was close to a year ago. Other thing is that when you’re being tunneled or camped you shouldn’t be punished for disconnecting the killer should be punished by nothing they do the entire match counts towards challenges or bloodpoints an get rid of the timed ban for disconnecting these two things have me an several other people I know that play this game close to just deleting it and moving on to something else I know I won’t be putting any more money into this game at All until something is fixed.

Comments

  • Not to mention the distance in the hooks also pretty much makes iron grasp and agitation useless to run

  • I will also be spending my money elsewhere until this terrible camping and tunneling scourge is finally dealt with. Whatever camping and tunneling actually is, anyway.

  • Killers standing by you on hook or downing you as soon as you get off of hook is camping an tunneling

  • It's ridiculous how boring this game is getting from tunneling/camping killers.

Wiggling isn't about not getting hooked. it's about not getting put into the basement.

if you don't want to be punished for disconnecting then fine. but don't get mad when the killer or other survivors disconnect and your games become basically just a bunch of bots spamming disconnect as fast as possible to depip.

and punishing killers for... killing? hilarious.

  • Technically it's not about getting put in the basement, it's a time limit for the killer to actually find something. When unimpeded the Killer is supposed to be able to get someone on a hook every single time.

It's up to the rest of the team to distract and hinder the killer until that timer is up, either by body blocking the killer to the point they have to waste time hitting you, sabotaging hooks so the killer has to go a longer distance, or by pallet smashing or blinding them into letting the survivor go.

If you're actively not struggling, you're just signaling that you give up.

  • I mean,

The speed at which survivors can complete gens is what fuel the tunneling.

A 4vs1 is un-winnable in all stages of the game for killer.

3vs1 is possible... probably only 1 gen left by then... so probably not.

2vs1? The last one will most likely get hatch.

It's unrealistic to expect killers to commit to 8 hooks+ strats in an economy where by first hook (not death, just hook) 3 gen pops instantly.

This is absolutely not true. Go watch Otzdarva this week as he himself made challenge to not tunnel for limited time. He can win most of the games anyway (he still does not even use very good builds - just good and meh builds).

Also as we saw in patch 6.1 - give killers an option to win without tunneling and killers will tunnel even more for very easy wins. To reduce tunneling, you need to make it NOT the easiest thing to do - something you don't even have to think about doing to ensure wins most of the time. You need to make it actually risky to decide to do this. Currently there are 0 reasons to NOT tunnel if all you care about are easy wins. Unhooked person is always the most vulnerable and easiest target + it will give you highest time benefit. Once DS got nerfed - there are 0 incentives to swap target if all you care about is win.

Yes, this is a very big problem, since bhvr reduced the game map, but the number of hooks remained the same. Previously, there was no point in breaking hooks with the "sabotage" perk or sawing with the help of a toolbox, but now I will say for 100% that the bhvr have devalued one of their game mechanics to rubbish. Also, playing as a killer, you can meet with your eyes ridiculous situations where the hooks are 5 meters apart.

you quote the man that literally demonstrated the opposite as well.

He is a professionnal, DBD is what he does as a content creator, day in and day out.

While he certainly remains an inspiration, a glimmer of hope if you will for killers, he certainly isn't the "average killer" either, that guys is VERY good.

He also demonstrated a lot of "hold w" builds and how broken and easy they are to use.

I fail to see your point.

You said it's not possible. I say it's very much possible. What actually is not possible is to win 50 winstreak (something he does on most killers) in soloQ. Even best survivor mains are not able to do that (e.g. Ayrun is trying that for years now and 34 is his long-time maximum). That about sums up the balance of this game.

the balance of this game is survivors doing gen so fast that they can't possibly lose unless 2 of them like, T-bag in a corner for the whole match.

Yikes, you're right, that is actually pretty unbalanced for the asymmetry of the game. If 50-win streaks go down with top end killer players, then top end survivor players should really only be getting around 12.5-win-streaks in SoloQ.

It's almost like survivors are able to finish generators so fast that most of the killer roster is required to make an early jump to desperation tactics that everybody hates, tactics like tunneling, camping and slugging.

Now here we are in this thread, where another survivor main is trying to suggest something that would intensify desperation tactics and result in an even worse gameplay experience? I don't think so.

  • >Hooks are so close together now

You should play killer a few match. Midwitch and Ormond will welcome to you.

Even if I take your skewed view (which I don't) where 50=12,5. 550 winstreak on nurse and even 200 winstreak on "weak" sadako and 34 on soloQ. Best players there are. Yikes

this is the problem that the killers have 500 victories in a row and the survivors have a maximum of 12.5 ahah this is ridiculous WHERE IS THE BALANCE?

The issue with hooks has been around for a very long time and it devalues the perks and tools of the survivors, since breaking is pointless. With the fact that the killer can throw off the shoulder without being punished.

  • Wiggling is not for free escapes.

Wiggling is to prevent killers from abusing a dead zone. Without it you could rain all pallets and resources in one corner, and even break a hook on a sacrifice, but then keep downing people there and taking them elsewhere.
