  • I don’t get people that come on here and complain about any killer issues. Why shouldn’t killers get ran on like survivors do? There’s different levels of play for both sides. I play with randoms I only make it out like 10% of the time because my other 3 teammates are dead after just 0-1 gens have popped. 😂

  • Don’t act like depressed killers when you know you’re in there wrecking survivors left & right. SWFs are supposed to be SWF to make it out alive. Stop complaining about something they’re supposed to do to stay alive lol

  • Yea SWF this, SWF that. I get those sweaty killers too that bring in ebony Mori’s when it’s all randoms. I feel bad playing sometimes Bc it doesn’t feel fair

When i get gen rushed i just go chill in the basment and watch youtube and let them escape if survivoes wanna gen rush just let them go back to there 20 minute q times and honestly it makes me feel wayyy less frustrated if i just let them leave instead of tryharding

I found a Bubba down there once . He didn’t like me looting the chest down there . He got a bit, cutty ...

  • it can actually be rather frustrating. Especially solo. Killers need Mori’s taken away or at least nerfed down to a level that’s fair for everyone. I think Everyone should have to be hooked before ANYONE can be Mori’d. I think that would make more sense.

First of all, doing gens is SO BORING, also gives most killers no time to do anything. I go for rescues, try to take the agro, do totems... so I'm productive, not as much as being gen rushing like the rest of the team, but at least don't hide in a corner. It's just a game anyway, if I die, who cares? if I live, who cares? I rather die and have fun than escape a 5 minutes match and waiting in queue for another 20 minutes.

    There are some exceptions:

-If the killer is HB or spirit (I'm not scared of nurses and I try to get chased by them)

    -If a person dies.

-If for some reason I know or suspect the killer has NOED, I try to pop the last gen when he's chasing someone injuried.

-If the match is boring and I just don't want to play anymore (like Doctor or Legion or Freddy)

Still rank 1... this game is SO easy for survivors.

Do you do that? do you stop doing gens if you feel like the killer is struggling to get hooks?

This is exactly what a killer main that’s pretending to be a survivor main would say. It’s really not easy. Not when you’re playing with random people and not everyone’s good at looping. But in the case that nobody is, it’s rather challenging. Chases are fun, but not everything. The game needs more survivor wise. But don’t say it’s too easy.

  • They just milk the game clock and bait hooks

  • i just think they give killers too much time to apply pressure where they just don’t care 🤷‍♂️

Past 3 games or so where i've come up against a Leatherface, the first person they down they proceed to camp the hook just directly staring at the hooked survivor rearing the chainsaw, all game. 5 gens go by reasonably quick , rest of the survivors escape seeing as it's their only option and they in turn don't want to risk face camp. In the end Leatherface gets about 5-8k BP, Hooked survivor gets roughly same maybe less. What's the point of this tactic? Is it a meme or something? My play sessions are usually late evenings, so generally i have a 10-30 minute queue for survivor gameplay, i'd be reasonably pissed if i waited that long of a queue just to come away with 5-9k bp.

I know there's a minus blood point gain / loss for emblem system in place to discourage this but clearly it's not strong enough if it's not dissuading this behaviour.

I agree! I actually played a game where leather face was sitting in the basement corner staring at a chest waiting for someone to come down. Didn’t care about gens whatsoever. I went down there to loot the chest and he comes at me with his chainsaw. He revvs it up so fast I don’t think there’s much of a chance. You gotta keep your distance but he’s kind of a game ruineR for hook camping

He always surprises you because his TR is ######### up, than he m1s you, than instantly can range shot you and hit you again. SO FUN! Congrats devs! Thank you for this amazing interactive experience!

I agree it IS a lot of fun to play against deathslinger except I feel as a survivor one should definitely be able to move around a lot more when you’ve been shot with his Harpoon gun. I don’t get why vaults don’t break it either the player literally can’t do anything to defend himself because you can’t move around at all to try and break it. That’s the only thing.

  • Survivors will probably DC more often because the match more often than not just seems unfair. Lag affects both sides but I believe it hurts survivors more because every hit matters. Because once you go down and get hooked you might not ever get off of it.

  • 60 second DS is well deserved for a one time use. Just saying. How is it fair that Ebony Mori’s aren’t a one time use? Or that rather than hooking and tunneling and avoiding DS it doesn’t have any further requirements that make it fair such as hooking everyone once FIRST? Playing Killer is not that bad. You’re bad.

  • @Dead_by_David17 said:

I come on these forums unsurprised at what I see all the time. I swear that large majority of all posts are all the same thing: killers whining about SWF, gen speeds, survivor meta perks, etc. Also claims that the devs are survivor sided and that they don't care about the killer player base.

So, I figured I'd try to compile my evidence against such claims.

    1. The pallet vacuum removal

    2. The Exhaustion nerf

    3. The DS Rework/Nerf

    4. The Mettle of Man nerf, probably the most hard hitting nerf to the survivor meta in the game, ever.

    5. The Balanced Landing nerf

    6. The mere existence of the Spirit

    7. The mere existence of Iridescent heads and how they still havent been nerfed in years.

    8. The mere existence of literally wall hack add-ons such as Myer's Mirrors.

    9. The nerfs to Medkits, toolboxes, and insta heals. Admittedly yes, instas were OP and toolboxes played a large part in gen rushing. But now, both are worthless.

    10. The mere existence of the endgame collapse.

    11. The mere existence of second chance perks like NOED.

    12. The fact that bugs/glitches/exploits that benefit killers (i.e. Legion walking backwards after a survivor while their Deep Wound ticked down) don't get patched for months while ones that benefit survivors (i.e. when Wake Up buffed ALL speeds) get patched in a day.

    13. The fact that the match runs off the killers connection. If there is even a SLIGHT drop in connection quality, the survivors feel it. I literally faced a Legion playing on a Wifi Hotspot some time ago. The worst lag I ever experienced. He said he didn't lag at all.

    14. The fact that killers can get away scott free with holding the game hostage because they're scared of getting Decisive Striked/want their 4k/etc.

    15. The double standard regarding DCing. Why is okay for a killer to DC from the map they don't like, and yet it's frowned upon when survivors DC bc, say, they don't want to face a particular killer?

    16. The fact that camping and tunneling is considered strategic and yet, for example, jumping into a locker to force your DS isnt.

DS should be infinite uses as long as you get off the hook and everyone knows it. It’s because the killer players that keep complaining. Now they want a 30 second use instead of 60. It’s always something. The player should have the option of equipping a perk that ALWAYS protects you From getting tunneled. It just keeps you in the game and allows that person to enjoy the game a bit more. Solo play is at its worst and when people work together and are too efficient they nerf toolboxes. Okay... it goes both ways. Killers can knock down survivors just as fast.

  • Then you combine that with their ability to reach speeds matching that of The 150% speed burst perks of survivors I’m not surprised there’s a hatch in the game. Why would anyone want to stick around when you’re able to patrol gens without a timer like F13 where the killer is pressured to find everyone?

  • i Just find that when I play killer, I don’t mind people escaping. As long as I had fun and I got a kill or two maybe 3/4. Which I do get those 4 pieces sometimes. And I’ve seen red and purple ranks in my games before as a rank 16 killer (I don’t play much) but I think that’s because there is a shortage of killers . But nah man I really believe killers can run on survivors just as easily. And there are things I find isn’t fair about the way killers do it . So... please ... killer complaints need to come to an end. We all know you want those 4 rando survivors to come in and die for you every game. Then when you get slammed you complain about gen speed 😂 if anything I think it’s too slow when combined with all the gen regression killers already have embedded into their perks. Thanatophobia, Ruin, dying light.. 😂 I mean come on.

  • You can’t force players to be “altruistic” if that guy on the hook never gets off of it.

  • you Can’t force players to be “altruistic” when killers have ebony Mori and get tunneled. That didn’t give the team a chance to heal that guy. It’s one of the most counter productive items in the game. And it’s just not helping encourage people to keep playing. Like I said Ebony Mori’s should require the killer to hook everyone before it can take effect.

With the controversy of gens nowadays and how the ruin rework has affected the speed of gens, I've come up with some ideas that maybe could be a good idea for the game. Ive made some perk ideas too! Please check it out!

So the idea I came up with is pretty simple, but I feel like it could be a right step toward good ideas for the "genrush" controversy. So right now, the best way for killers to really put pressure is to force survivors to be altruistic so they can stop working on gens so this usually leads to killers slugging or hooking as much as possible, but gens can still be powered pretty quickly so heres the idea:

Every time a killer hooks a survivor, ALL GENS with progress instantly regress by 3%, but every time a gen gets completed, ALL OTHER GENS with progress instantly regress by 5%. So basically the entity is rewarding the killer for hooking survivors (the killers' objective) while punishing survivors at the same time. This can possibly reduce the chance of a killer slugging as I don't think many people enjoy being slugged. Thats the first gen idea I had and the other one was that maybe at the start of the trial, ALL GENS would be blocked by the entity for at least 15-20 seconds. This could help the killer at least get around the map /set up traps without the worry of a gen being popped too fast. As for Corrupt Intervention, the perk duration will NOT start until this effect wears off so technically the gens being affected by CI will have 15-20 + 120 seconds of entity protection.

    As for perk ideas:

Corrupt Intervention: Still does what it does, but has an added effect, "Every time a survivor is injured by ANY means, the duration is paused for 3 seconds" This idea is is to help the perk last a little longer as I know some people complain how it is too short and how most survivors just wait and hide until the perk ends so it doesn't really apply any help to the killer, but making it pause for 3 seconds rewards the killer for doing their job. This might even be strong with killers who can damage survivors quickly (Legion, Huntress, etc.)

Mindbreaker: Increase the limit from 50% to 75% and the exhaustion duration from 1/2/3 to 3/4/5. It will also have an added affect where if a survivor is already exhausted, not only will it be paused, but their exhaustion will be begin to increase automatically if they decide to stay on the gen. This should make the perk A LOT more threatening especially to survivors who are exhausted. This might even shake up the meta.

Off the Record: Still does what it does, but has an added effect. "Whenever the survivor completes an action (Gen, healing, cleansing, searching, sabotage, etc.) the duration is paused for 5 seconds. Additionally, while the perk is active, the survivor is immune to all heartbeat/terror radius perks." I know this perk is new, but a lot of people have been hating on it as its basically an Iron Will 2.0 but with these changes, it should feel like a more powerful perk and should make it last longer as thats why many people despise it due to its low duration. Also this might change the survivor meta. C'mon guys the survivor meta needs to change.

Technician: COMPLETELY REWORKED. "Every time you complete 4/3/2 skill checks on a gen, the perk activates. The next time you fail a skill check on a gen, the explosion is prevented and the perk deactivates. The perk can be activated as many times possible. Additionally if you are workin on a gen and the perk is activated, the gen will not be damaged by the entity if a survivor is hooked or if a gen is completed. This will also deactivate the perk" So these changes are to make the perk A LOT more reliable as the 50% chance was kinda annoying but now its 100%, but just requires some skill before it activates. Also its other effect helps counter-act the gen idea I had (all the way in the top). This perk might even change the survivor meta.

Boil Over: Still does what it does, but make it so that all tiers are at 75% instead of 25/50/75% (Iron grasp is like this so why not make it the same for boil over). Also aura range would be increased form 10/12/14 to 16/18/20. The aura part of this perk is hardly noticeable and only helps with indoor maps (we only have 3...) so increasing it to 20 meters isn't too bad and 20 meters feels like a perfect spot.

Babysitter: Increase the duration of the effect from 4/6/8 to 14/15/16. This perk is HEAVILY OUTSHINED by Borrowed time (pretty obv. why) so making its duration somewhat compared to BT might make it a worthy competitor of an altruistic perk. Also BT is seen 99% of high rank matches so we gotta shake up the meta.

Solidarity: Still does what it does, but increase the healing returned back from 50% to 100%, but has a cool down of 60/50/40 seconds. This perk is heavily outclassed by other healing perks and its kinda understandable why the devs made it 50% instead of 100%, but if people wanna see this perk being used more, its gotta be 100% not 50%. Also the cooldown will make it balanced as you're not always gonna be healing people while being injured at the same time too often.

What do you guys think about these ideas/concepts? I've been been thinking about this carefully and I feel as if they're good ideas for the game, but what do you guys think? :)

The most killer sided concept I’ve ever seen. You do realize by making gen speed slower you’re only encouraging More SWF right? Because solo is near impossible. How about they do something about Mori’s ? I think all survivors should be hooked before killers can Mori. It’s not fun for survivors either to stick around for long when you’re able to kill people so fast. Killer players just want more and more. I get that gen rush is a problem. But there are ways to slow it down already. You don’t need to do anything about that. Toolboxes were already hit hard. I might just uninstall if they keep hitting survivors . You realize the last few patches were killer buffs right?

The nurse nerf to her basekit was a backstab for me and many. She is playable... but with addons and she still have a lot of bugs that they never fix. And she become one of the slowest killers with the blink charges system. For me they ruined her, and you can see that almost no one play her anymore. It is a sad story. Sally the greteast killer nerfed to some mid tier killer..

Ruin nerf did mayor damage to weakest killers, and therefore are in need of buff, for example Leatherface, Legion, Pig, Hag, Ghostface, Trapper, Wraith, The Clown and The Deathslinger. You can't play with them in rank 1 unless you enjoy 4 escapes or to get 1 kill with luck.

They turned the game more than ever to be playable only with the top tier killer like Freddy, huntress, Oni, Spirit, Billy and being restricted to only those is tremendously boring. When will they realize that they are losing killers and interest of killers in the game??

you mentioned some of the killers that are actually really good. Freddys the best though. But ghost face and trapper are really good too. Wraith and ghost face are the absolute best at hook camping in a bush or a corn field. It’s ridiculous. My only wish is that they slow down wraith and his ability to uncloak fast. Or hide in a bush undetectable. This game literally encourages you to find other people yet I see killers hiding in bushes and faking leaving hooks to come back and rehook survivors. I get it. It’s a tactic? But you don’t rank up hook camping either 😂 idk I think you’re listing off Some good killers

  • It’s nonsense. Then you add some lag in there and it affects survivors way more. Ebony Mori’s. I mean, just stop complaining. There’s a list for complaining about survivor experiences too.

  • It’s ridiculous. Get a better game plan as a killer then. Play some of the better killers that imo are way better. They need to slow trapper and legion down. I’ve never seen a killer run faster than my 150% Lithe burst than Legion. Why are they so fast yet people still complain? Just get a better game plan.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

This game is in need of a total balance shift. As a red rank killer, I can get a 4k in one match and 0k in the next. One decent chase from a survivor is game ending for the killer. 3 gens can be done in the first 4 minutes, even with 'adequate pressure'. Some of your perks can actually be destroyed permanently by survivors (hex perks), and others can be negated altogether (ex: can't use Pop because a gen gets done before you can get to it). Entire killer abilities can be negated (disarming Trapper traps, can't throw hatchets over a loop with Huntress, etc). Amazing survivor perks compared generally mediocre killer perks (compare Any Means Necessary to Blood Echo). It all goes to prove that survivors are the power role, always have been and sadly always will be.

Skill alone will not allow you to win as killer. You have to pick a strong killer (unlike Clown or Oni), have sub-optimal survivors, have a good build, have a decent map (because there are no killer sided ones), have good add-ons, play around DS, BT, and DH.

If you're facing SWF, you lose unless they throw the game. If you don't beat a survivor to the hatch, free escape for them, no well-deserved 4k for you. If you make 1 mistake, you lose. If a survivor makes several mistakes, they're fine or better yet, rewarded.

The psychological effect of these survivor bully psychopaths is the biggest turn off for this game, and it is quite possible the worst in the industry. You're always being mocked and belittled by entitled survivors saying that you need to get better, even when you played your heart out and were practically flawless. And to still get a 0-2k after everything you did and be spat on for it, it's unacceptable. The devs have done nowhere near enough in discouraging toxicity in this community. I've heard someone say it made them suicidal. If killers weren't so underpowered, this probably wouldn't be happening in the first place.

I will not play this game anymore except for when a new killer buff comes out. Then I'll check it out, and within the hour probably be off again because I'll see that nothing has changed, as always. This game is the biggest waste of potential I have ever seen.

You complain about something that goes both ways. Just like you said 4K one match 0K the next. Both ends of the spectrum need to be made possible. Sounds balanced to me. What’s not balanced is how easy it is for killers to just get greedy with kills and camp hooks with undetectable killers like ghost face and wraith. I think if you’re undetectable you should move slower And not be able to hide in a bush. You’re losing PIP anyways hook camping. This needs to be Discouraged. You complain about gen speed well I complain about how fast killers can kill people. How fast they can move and their ease of cutting chases short and my game short. How they can basically make 3-4x the amount of points I make as a survivor. Whatever man. Killers should be able to get ran on just like survivors can. Just my opinion. And it’s a fair one. You keep nerfing gen speed and I’ll uninstall the game. Because at that point it’s not fun to play solo anymore. Complaining about hatch. Complaining about DS. Complain about this. Complain about that.

  • Keys and Mori’s are not equal so first of all people shouldn’t compare the two as if they were. Keys can only be used once All gens are done or survivors have already died, which , in my opinion is fair because you’ve already had your share as a killer And they’ve already done the work. However, Mori’s allow killers to cheat on their objectives because it robs survivors of two more hooks. I can understand yellow Mori’s being okay but not green or ebony. The ebony one shouldn’t even be usable until all at least all survivors have been hooked once. That would be more fair. Because then you’ve done your share of the work on your end.

  • @Clinton said:

I'm getting tired of playing sweaty 4 man teams who bring keys every single match. I depip because 3 of them get out through the hatch after I forced a 3 gen with Freddy. Two of them were on death hook.

I think I might have to start bringing an ebony every time I see a key in my lobby

Ebony Mori’s want to make me stop playing. Hook camping makes me want to stop playing. Goes both ways. How about you just have fun and get who you can? Besides, most of the gens have to be done in order for them to get out anyways. All gens have to be done in order for them all to get out. They still have to put in the work. Killers have Moris which allow them to take a shortcut on their objectives by denying a survivor 2 more hooks. Think about this, who’s gonna play a game where they’re just gonna be expected to get 4K’d every game to satisfy you? There have to be alternate ways to escape especially if they’re in the situation that’s likely to happen where the last 3 gens are near impossible to repair because killers are extremely fast and have abilities that let them phase or teleport to all 3 of them in seconds. Why shouldn’t there be an alternate way of escaping? And...Freddy might be the best killer out there imo 😂 wraith is next level with his invisible undetectable hook camping. That’s never fun. There’s lag, one hit downs, it’s as though you believe these other 4 people in your lobby deserve no chance every game. I think if they got rid of hatch, they would need to either slow killers down or spread the gens out a bit.

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

Im on xbox and i rarely get gen rushed at red ranks. Most games i get put with 2 decent survivors and 2 rank 13s i play ghostface, myers, hag and billy without op add ons or any gen slowing perks

Is face camping and hook camping a PS and PC thing? Hm. You’re gonna get gen rushed if you hide in the shadows waiting for your next victim. You just mentioned you play killers that can be good at basically baiting hooked survivors because of either undetectable or traps that you can just teleport to (like placing about 1 million of them on a hooked survivor) So of course teams are gonna see that and just hit gens off. Learn to do gen control. The game literally tells you(And rewards you) via certain perks To go get someone else.

  • How about the Toxic wraiths that go invisible and camp and tunnel hooked survivors? How does that not need to be looked at? There’s got to be a built in in-game Mechanic that prevents or discourages that

  • @Yamaoka said:

Trapper moves at 115% / 4.6m/s just like most killers. He seems so fast because he walks in a rather aggressively looking way I guess.

Your profile picture reminded me of the time I actually witnessed a Bubba that was the fastest I’ve ever seen before. I activated Lithe over a vault, ran in a straight line and Bubba somehow actually caught up to me during the 150% speed boost. Activated his chainsaw, game over. That’s just ridiculous 😂

  • @ausanimal said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/138841/trapper-is-too-fast

And let me guess you think his mori is OP there are other killers that need to be looked at more then Trapper and given some buffs or qol changes but we all know you think all killers are OP, ones like the pig, legion and the clown need some work done to them things like the EGC nerfed the pig and they never changed it for her and just left it.

Yeah, Mori is 😂 I believe that because it allows you a short cut on your objectives which survivors don’t have. Brand new part doesn’t have as big of an impact as Ebony Mori does.

  • @TWiXT said:

After some thorough playtime with him, I believe I've sussed out why I, and likely many others, have found him a frustrating killer to play... Slowdowns.

This shows all his different movement speeds and slowdowns, (minus the wipe animation which takes 2 seconds by default):

    Walking (Reeling w/ Collision) x0.35, 1.54 m/s, 38.5 %

    Walking (Reeling + Firing) x0.5 ,2.2 m/s, 55 %

    Reload x0.6, 2.64 m/s, 66 %

    Walking Backwards (Reeling w/ Collision) x0.7, 3.08 m/s, 77 %

    Aiming Down Sights x0.75, 3.3 m/s, 82.5 %

    Walking Backwards (Reeling) x0.8, 3.52 m/s, 88 %

    Carrying x0.8365, 3.68 m/s, 92 %

    Walking x1, 4.4 m/s, 110 %

    Lunge x1.568, 6.9 m/s, 172.5 %

    Reel 2.6 m/s, 65 %

    Reel Back (walking backwards) 25 m/s, 625 %

    Launch 40 m/s, 1000 % (projectile speed)

He's already a slower than average killer in regards to movement speed (110%, 4.4ms as opposed the the average killer at 115%, 4.6ms), but when you compare his power, and ability to do damage with it to all other killers, he experiences more slowdowns than they do. Like all killers he has a wipe animation slowdown that is the standard, but on top of that he has 4 other things associated with his power that slow him down even further: Aiming down the sights, Missed Spear attack cooldown, Successful Spear attack reeling time, and Reloading. He starts his slowdowns taking aim, which lowers his movement speed even if it takes only .5 seconds to do so, then after firing and missing he's slowed down again during the cooldown for 1.6 seconds, but if successful he's slowed down while reeling in the survivor for 1-5 seconds, then strikes the survivor slowing him down majorly for the weapon wipe animation (or the chain breaks and he's stunned for 4 seconds), then he's slowed down a final time when he reloads. All total, he experiences a possible 5 slowdowns just for using his power effectively, whereas...

In comparison to another 110% speed killer like Hag; Her slowdowns are when she stops in place to plant traps, and only has a wipe animation for successful attacks. Another comparison to a 110% speed killer; Huntress stops in place when reloading, but her successful/unsuccessful attacks with hatchets only experience the charging, and cooldown of the throw for slowdowns, and she doesn't have to reload every time she takes a shot unless she's using the Iridescent head add-on without a belt add-on to aid it. Nurse? Who moves even slower than any of the 110% killers? Slowdowns occur when she blinks and either misses or succeeds an attack, and when she is wiping. At most, these other killers experience only 3 possible slowdowns/stuns, and yet Deathslinger, as part of his base kit, experiences 5 in order to down 1 survivor... How the HELL is he supposed to compete with the standard when he is definitely below it? I haven't even mentioned how much time this gives the rest of the survivor team to complete their objectives, but we'll say that it gives them an average of 12+ seconds as long as he's using his power, which is at least an estimated 8 seconds more than any other killer does.

With all of these "slowdowns" working against an already slower than average killer, and the precision aiming he needs in order to land his ranged attack, which is further limited by an 18m range restriction... It takes him, on average, much longer to down any survivors than any other killer in the game, and gives the survivors too many chances to gain distance from him which increases the overall time he takes to chase them down just to either injure or down them.

This is what I find so DAMN FRUSTRATING about Deathslinger, and is quintessentially what I believe makes him a weak killer (5 slowdowns just to secure a hit/down? Really?). The only real advantages his power gives him is that he can pull survivors away from advantageous positions before downing them, and his TR + music are subtle enough that he often catches survivors off guard, and thank god for that because otherwise he'd never get close enough to use his power, much less hit survivors with it!

Sigh, If the devs are ever going to buff him somehow... I'd suggest simply removing some of the slowdowns he currently experiences (examples: remove the weapon wipe slowdown after reeling in a survivor and successfully striking them, Speed up his reeling, shorten his stun time when the chain breaks, change some add-ons to add more bullets but increase reload time, flat out remove the reduced movement speed Downsides of his Marshals Badge and Cold Creek Whisky add-ons, etc.)!

As of right now... his power, and the slowdowns/penalties for using it are far too lenient to survivors when it comes to giving them distance on him, taking damage from him, and making a mockery of him. He needs to be a threat, and by removing at least 2 of his slowdowns, he can achieve it. Otherwise, he's actually worse than Clown!

Yeah, I said it, because at least when Clown uses his ability he can strike survivors immediately after, and has an AoE to help him which doesn't require precision aiming.

Devs: Either Drop 2 slowdowns from Deathslingers base kit, or increase his base movement speed while leaving his TR as is... Otherwise he will never be viable in mid-high ranks, much less viewed as a killer worth purchasing.

    TL;DR:

Deathslinger experiences 5 slowdowns just to get 1 hit or down on survivors, whereas the most any other killer experiences is 3, and thus he can't injure or down survivors nearly as fast in comparison to any other killer in the game. The Devs need to remove 2 of the slowdowns he experiences (at minimum), or he will actually/continually be worse than Clown or Legion in the long run since he can't even compete with them in downing time.

Then use somebody else. He’s obviously not your guy 😂 I feel as though there are frustrating killers to go against it goes both ways. Especially dependent on the killer players playstyle. Nobody Pips when you face camp and tunnel. What kind of game is that for survivors? Imo killers need a impactful slowdown for Missed attacks or general mobility if they have abilities that let them do ranged attacks or extensive lunge attacks on survivors. Why don’t they just hand killers an AK47 or a mini gun? There ya go. Problem solved

So, had a game as legion. I started off strong and hit all 4 survivors who were grouped up. I chased one, downed them. They gave up on first hook, downed another one, they gave up on first hook, then downed another one AND THEY gave up on first hook. Found the hatch and closed it. Guessed wrong on exit gate and last survivor escaped. I was like, “I got a 3K. I should pip.. right?” But no, because I didn’t get enough hooks because they all gave up. I saved pip. What can I do about this? When survivors can literally dictate wether I can pip or not? It feels wrong to me.

They make it so easy for you so you’d think so right

  • I guess. Just ignore them

Specifically, Trapper and Hag. Moreso Trapper. Nine times out of ten, when this perk is used, it's a SWF, giving the perk even more power. Tunneling the user into the dirt usually ends up costing the match, since they want to waste your time. Ignoring them will simply disable your traps for most, if not all, of the match. Isn't there some way to d̶e̶l̶e̶t̶e̶ change the perk in a way that doesn't shut down trap abilities?

another unnecessary complaint. Killers have SWF problems. So now solo survivors have SWF problems being the cause of all these killer complaints which in turn leads to calibrating the game to meet the standards of pro level play. Solo survivors still don’t have a chance. There have been so many games I’ve played where killers just mow people down because everyone’s doing their own thing. Throw some Mori’s in there this game makes you not want to play it even more. All because killers just want to be catered to. Why is it you feel as though survivors don’t need to know where you’re at at all times and communicate that to teammates? That’s the point. If they work together they should kick your butt. If they don’t well then they’re just bad. But don’t complain about this kinda stuff. It really irks people like me that try to solo with perks that people typically complain about. DS, BT, OoO. It’s kind of outrageous. You’re the killer, you move fast, some way faster than they should be able to with add ons attached. Ebony Mori’s are Just excessive. Use the perks and builds you should be using to find them. Stop worrying about what they got. You know? The list Just goes on and on. I feel like killers need to be nerfed imo. People complain because they’re noticing a compromise or weakness in their strategy and just don’t know how to counter it. It’s rather infuriating. I think on all accounts killers (their perks, abilities, add ons and offerings) are by far really strong despite gen speed. Being concerned over a survivor perk is just unnecessary and unfair to survivors ability to have fun too.

  • iridescent head for huntress ? That’s a notable add on.

I think the biggest complaint I have playing killer is matchmaking. Why when I play killer as a rank 17 am I going up against ONE rank 1, two purple ranks and a green rank? Lmao. Where are all the survivors that are fresh off the boat lol .

  • It’s ridiculous seeing all these whiny killers. It’s not balanced at all without teamwork and here are they are still wanting more. The last few patches have been all about killers. I mean, what do survivors have to make up for ebony Mori’s getting killers shortcuts on their objectives? A brand new part that requires two difficult skill checks and then poof it’s gone after it yields just a little chunk of gen progress? But uhh, We just lost a guy though. That makes gens harder. You combine that with thanatophobia or dying light. Throw some Pop in there to really keep those gens down and that progress meant nothing. Death is permanent though and that player didn’t have fun I’m sure leaving with a few thousand blood points because you decided to tunnel him.

Lets be real here for a minute. Killers offerings are LAME at best.

For all the trolls that will post on this discussion let me explain first before you rage type.

An offering from a killers should be felt. This is a 4v1 game so the 1 needs to have an impact. Survivors can boost BP all day, 1 in 4 could burn a Map and dictate location. They can communicate in lobby about items and perk builds that they are running, the killer not so much.

All the killer can really do is try to counter one of the offerings from a survivor or use a Mori.

I will list offerings and their overall impact on the match. (Please note that overall means over the course of a lot of games, not that random game where it actually works.)

Cut coin- Reduce Chest: Players digging into chest and getting an item really doesn't impact the round negativity. In reality it makes the player waste some time since they did not bring an item to begin with.

Thickness - Increase or decrease fog: Oddly the common ones are more useful than the higher tier ones since they reduce the thickness not increase it. Unless your Michael, Pig or Ghostface! Increasing the thickness works to the survivors favor not yours. Most of the time if you don't see a survivor its not because of thickness its because of LOS (line of sight) and the perk Urban Evasion.

Hooks - Increase or decrease distance between hooks- Honestly hooks are so close that there is no need to use this. If you can not get a survivor to a hook it will be for the following. (a) Good team work on the survivor's part. (b) Flashlight, Pallet or the Head-on Perk.

And then you have BP offerings and map offerings.

I can honestly say that none of these have an impact on the match. Ask yourself this question "How many of these items do I own and do i burn BP offering more than any of these offerings". You will find the answer to be 1-a lot and 2- All the time.

The devs needs to make killer offerings and survivor offerings feel different. Survivors should want to stack the same type of offerings to make the most of the match. While the killer should make the match feel more threatening.

Now I know people will rage and try to counter this post and honestly I hope they do. We need to tell devs from both sides what makes a good offering.

    I propose the following changes.

    1) remove map offerings and have 3 maps available for that round and people vote. (no need for maps offerings they are just a waste.)

    2) Remove fog and just have a random fog level. (no need for offering its a waste)

    3) Some offerings the killer could have are the following: (a) remove x pallets from the map (b) remove x lockers from maps (c) Gen repair time increase by x seconds (d) Increase totem cleanse by x seconds. (e) Spawn Gens Closer to the center. (f) remove one gen from map

Now i'm not saying any of these needs to be implemented however these will impact the match greatly.

    4) Survivors offerings would need to function on an x amount burnt (1-4) so that they don't become overpowered.

Some ideas are : (a) Add 1 pallet to map per 2 of that offering burnt. (b) Reduce gen time by x seconds per 2 offering burnt. (c) See the killers aura for x seconds when one gen is left to complete per 2 offerings. (d) Leave no scratch marks for x seconds at the start of the game per 2 offerings burnt.

I am aware that some perks do things to a certain degree of what i suggest but lets be real DBD survivors run the same 6-8 perks and killers run the same amount as well unless they meme building.

I would rather spend more BP for useful items instead of BS items we hardly ever use.

Lets try to have an open mind discussion about this and come up with a solution.

I know this isn’t a real post is it? Are you ignoring Ebony Memento Mori’s being the OP factor here? Please stop it. Killers have so many good add ons and an ebony Mori that they really don’t need anything else. Stop complaining.

Why do killers get all whiny about gen rushing calling it a crappy strategy and stuff yet when talking about camping they always say thats a justified strategy, im sorry but what?!?

Ive been in game after game where the killer has just face camped literally everyone and when messaging them all i get is "EZ git gud" or even on here i can ask why people camp and theyll just say its a strategy if i dont like it go do gens or some stuff like that, yet it is these exact same people that have a go at gen rushers in the whole time of playing dbd ive seen way more games where the killer starts to camp when not even 1 gen has been completed yet ive seen barely any of actual gen rushing (if i dont count gen rushing as the killer is face camping)

What this game needs to do is if they remove gen rushing they need to get rid of camping, a bad strategy for a bad strategy

Gen rushing is mandatory. It’s the only thing survivors can do 🤨 people just want more time as killer so they can slay all four. They just want it to be ez 4K every game. In fact, playing solo I see they’re getting quite a few kills. It’s rare that I come across good loopers. It kinda sucks man. I just played a game against a bubba that outran my Lithe 150% speed boost somehow. How’s that fair? Killers are OP it’s the ones that don’t know they are that just whine and whine.

Exposed means you go down in one hit. Since you were against a Spirit, she probably had the perk Hex: Haunted Ground where if the Survivor cleanses a Hex Totem (those small skull thingies you sometimes find on the ground, but they're glowing), everyone receives the Exposed effect for 40/50/60 seconds.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1168483#Comment_1168483

Are you really trying to turn this into another "Iridescent Head is OP" thread?

i just don’t think it’s solving the issue of slowing down the game to have one hit downs as an add on, ability, perk and have insta killing Mori’s 😂 it’s kinda excessive. I hear people talking about slowing down gen speed, well slow down killers then 😂 because it always seems one way or the other than makes games go by way too fast. Either it’s a slaughter or it’s a gen rush. But I think you can’t hit one without hitting the other. Cool thing about exposed, is you can avoid it or wait it out for the most part. Now, I do think killers like ghost face can get it way too fast. Iridescent isn’t as bad as ghost face looking at you for like 3 seconds and the game decides that’s a mistake on your part. You shouldn’t have let him see you as he walked by you and turned his head in your direction momentarily, now you deserve to die! 😂😂 okay yeah. Sure. Totally.

snake man please don’t get aggressive. I’m only offering my pov

  • That iridescent head for huntress is OP. they should really limit it to one Ultra rare item per character. One hit throws are just stupid. Like why would anyone want to play against killers with one hits or ebony Mori’s? I’d rather back out. Like I said though, they should just remove some of that stuff. Because it’s not like survivors are doing all 5 gens without getting found. So you’re telling me somebody gets caught, they just die. And that was fair game? 😂 okay. It’s not like survivors have an ultra rare item that gives them an instant quarter or half gen to trade off for that instant down (no, not brand new part, you have to work hard for so little). Or an instant gen for an instant death after hook trade off. No they get 2 hard skill checks on a brand new part and a bulb that you have to put yourself in harms way to use 😂 either way, it’s gonna take extra hard work to use their effects. But killers, no they don’t have to work hard to use their ultra Rares. Cool thing is, they get to use them all game long. Meaning, they don’t burn out like a brand new part, or a flash light bulb. Lmao.

Wraith also has some power on certain loops, I don't know the name of the technique but you can fake going for one side while uncloacking and quickly switch sides. Sometimes you get free hits with the speed boost.

All killers get free hits with the lag boost during the chases. If only this game didn’t penalize survivors so much for playing it 😂

  • I think wraith, ghost face, Michael Myers and pig can all be too much sometimes with the right add ons . Throw an ebony on there too and I just don’t think all of that is necessary. For one they need to make ebony’s at least a little more rare or rework them to where every survivor needs to get hooked before one can be Mori’d

  • @krowzar said:

Bootleg Ghostface(has to give a sound que when going outa stealth)

No chase potential(windstorm addons don't help against an optimal team

he attacks really fast and he is really fast 😂 idk man sometimes I feel like it’s difficult to get away from him. You’re just not using him right. He’s OP and not really fun to go against. I think if they made him slower whilst invisible it wouldn’t be as bad but that’s literally allowing you to constantly catch people off guard and camp hooks with ease. That’s not really fair imo. Especially since he doesn’t even show up on kindred. Yeeesh. If you’re not a communicating team of 4 that’s gonna be a shi*t show

  • @Xx_Daniel_xX69 said:

I think that just is a latency issue. It affects both sides as well especially if you play huntress.

Yes it might affect both sides but it’s more detrimental to survivors because every hit and down and hook is precious to them when there’s ways they may not be able to get back into the game after that. Whether it’s hook camping, baiting, or Mori . Killer lags and misses hit they recover so fast that idk if it really matters 🤷‍♂️

  • It’s really bad sometimes. But it’s like, if a hit weren’t that big of a deal I’d deal with it. But since there’s one hit knockdowns and Ebony Mori’s cutting your gaming experience short I think it can be infuriating and deflating. What chance did I have you know? It’s not my fault. I really don’t want to come into a game and just be someone’s 4K because they’ve got even more advantages over me.

  • I agree. There have been many unfair hits from killers due to lag or I guess hit box issues. I feel like if you go through a vault your hit box should just be disabled. The killer technically gains distance on you as you’re going through a vault which he doesn’t even have to go through because he can just swing at it and anything within a mile distance from the vault gets pounded into the ground. Some range that is.... but, Wow, you mean for once someone’s pointing out a survivor issue? I had to refresh the page and rub my eyes multiple times to make sure I wasn’t seeing things. Insane.

  • @GHOSTfaceP3 said:

Seriously I slug 2 people yet 2 gens go this game is getting unplayable and unbearable as killer

They need to do something about the killers ability to use ebony Mori’s after 1 hook. That’s unfair too. Goes both ways sir. From a killers perspective it might seem fair but solo nah. How about the lag? Unfair hits. Speed. You can’t run the killer forever and I don’t really find that fun either. But I think the game can go just as fast with gens (if you think so, however I don’t see it happening playing without a team communicating or a pro killer runner - which I’m not) so , think about those people. Nah forget about them right? I didn’t know I’d rubber band backwards get hooked and Mori’d right after then walk out with 2 thousand points. I didn’t know it was possible to go out that quick. What about that? They should make Mori’s useable after everyone’s been hooked once. I like that better.

  • The last few patches have been all about killers 😂

  • You guys are basically asking for instant 4Ks when they’re already easy 4Ks. I can’t.. killer buff is all I ever hear on here.

  • @BlueFirebilly said:

What are your thoughts on wraith?

Personally I think he needs some buffs and windstorm needs to be his base kit, plus two of his perks are trash

He’s OP already. His add ons make him uncloak and he moves fast while invisible... stop lol I think killers that are invisible or undetectable should be slower than if they have their terror radius active. So, I say nonsense 😂 wraith OP

  • I agree with loss of add ons being unfair for several reasons.

    1) Survivors get less points than killers.

    2) Survivor add ons aren’t as good as killer add ons. What, a flashlight bulb - maybe that’s not bad but... eh I don’t think I’m too crazy about running flashlights where it lags or glitches and your flashlight does nothing and the killer mows you down. Eh. I’d rather use brand new part but even then it’s only a small boost. and It’s a brand new part that you have to work hard nailing those small skill checks to get? I paid for that why are you making me work for that? Killers get instant buffs that they don’t have to work for!

  • @maximizer12 said:

Maybe add a trample mechanic which crushes the corn, bushes, and high grass when a killer walks and a survivor runs on it. This way by endgame, survivors can't just crouch right next to the killer and get away. The amount of lost matches I've had because of the corn or blendable brush is so unecessary. This way we can nerf the blendettes and make the farms more tolerable for killers

Nonsense. I don’t think you realize how important it is to have many different unique ways of hiding from a killer when getting caught can be so costly. With pink Mori’s and hook camping going on I think there needs to be tall bushes, lockers, maybe hatches or just in general plenty of good hiding for survivors. Why should you be able to see everyone and mow them down? Evasion and stealth has always been a strong tactic in most survival games. Last I checked that’s what this is, is it not?
