yeah but... there is still the achievement that needs to be thought of, and ivory still should be a thing... I do like the idea of mori requiring 2 hooks, it is difficult.. you don't wanna make them useless..... at least with keys you have the freedom to add more uses in place of ignoring part of the objective.

    Which achievement?

I agree that they both need TLC... deleting them (especially moris) will never happen.... one of the first questions asked about a new killer is "i wonder what the mori will be?" and it's gotten to be almost artwork by BHVR, I'll be super stoked if they make Trappers mori where he smashes a survivors head in a bear trap. again they need TLC, going against a killer that wants to first hook mori and your teammates are potatoes is not a fun time.

Have yellow mori built in and make rancor more viable and make devour not spawn with a flashing arrow pointing at it

Keys are "unheathy". Ebony and tunnel off hook is "healthy".

I've legit said in this very thread that you clearly haven't read that Ebony and Ivory Mori are issues. However, this thread, as per the title you also probably didn't read, is about keys.

You’re so wrong 😂 It’s an easy out just like ebony Mori’s are. Keys aren’t even as common as Mori’s though. How many people have to bring in a key to even use them? Just one, but even then it depends if all 4 are communicating. Tunnel the guy with the key and hope nobody else knows about it. Mori’s are unfair too man. You’re being one sided here with the issues here. Complete bs You won’t acknowledge this 😡😡😡😡 I find my experience playing killer I have about 20 something ebony Mori’s. WHY DO I HAVE THAT MANY? How is that even “ultra rare” 😡😡😡😡😡😡

i actually see Mori’s more than keys

You see so many because out side of Mori's, most killers have two Iri items that can appear in the Bloodweb. Huntress has 1 other and Billy and Bubba have zero. The counter for keys is that they are less common in Bloodwebs but you can also just find them in chests without the killer knowing you have one, Mori's need to be addressed but this is about keys

  • Oni and Hag have Iri add ons that are detrimental to the killer. Demo's best add on is a brown. Trapper's best add ons are the carry ones' not the iri ones. Pink Doesn't equal op :/

This is the exact same defense killers give about mori. Yet Mori will usually wipe ALL survivors, a key will usually only save one MAYBE two survivors.

Moris are also a problem. With Ebony and Ivory inpaticualr needing nerfs. But this thread is about keys

  • @Sluzzy said:

So you think setting up a 3 gen on one side of the map, never committing to chases, and holding the game hostage is healthy for the game? You just gave a good reason for keys to forever exists.

No it's pretty unhealthy but on people like clown that's your best bet

  • @just_a_noob said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/148787/keys-are-unhealthy-for-the-game

1 - if you only have 1 kill after 4 gens have been done then they are probably all going to escape anyway.

2 - keys are rarely used

3 - I get more mori’s in my bloodwebs than keys. I’ve been getting an ebony or ivory in every second bloodweb. Also you don’t find keys in chests that often unless you have plunderers.

4 - it’s unfair after working hard for a 3 gen scenario? Well it’s unfair when killers camp and tunnel for the mori after Just 1 Hook.

Yeah it is unfair when you get tunneled for a mori, whats your point? And you can find keys in chests, you know when the killer has a mori not always when the survivors have a key

NOED has nothing to do with generator speeds...it activates if the survivors make a mistake or if the killer is able to apply good pressure using only 3 perks.

the fact that games go so fast makes NOED a good option. If the game was slower and you had more time to deal with survivors you wouldn't need NOED. So yes it does

  • @Clevite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/148787/keys-are-unhealthy-for-the-game

So keys are unhealthy, what are your thoughts on, Mori, No Ones Even Dead yet, iri heads, etc..etc.

I'm with @toxicnancymain, get rid of them both.

Ivory and Ebony mori are stupid and unbalanced. Cyprus mori should be built in to killers maybe. Rancor and Devour are fine.

NOED is more of a reflection on the current state of the game. Gens fly and NOED punishes that. Survivors could just do bones which would slow the game down. In the games current state there should be a totem tracker for survivors but some maps need way better totem spawns. Ideally game speed overall would be addressed and NOED wouldn't have to be looked at but as of right now it is a problem.

Iri head is stupid combined with Infantry belt. Without it i think it's fine. It should have a restriction that it sets hatchets to 1 and cannot be changed. If not that the add on should be reworked .

  • Skill check doc. Iridescent king and one of the Calm add ons. Distressing, Unnerving presence. Huntresses lullaby, and Overcharge. Use a map offering for Dead Dogs or the Game and watch those gen notifications fly

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

Moris and keys both need to be deleted imo

I would ideally want them to both be reworked. Mostly because i think Moris should have alternative animations that could be available to buy. It would be dumb just to have them tied to rancor and devour. But as of right now Ebony and even Ivory moris are pretty dumb

  • @LALYTHIA said:

No, it's an honest contribution. Killer iridescents are much more common than keys in any match. This is one you truly need to get over.

"B-b-but what about Irridesent add ons?!" we are talking about keys, try and focus.

  • @hagling said:

I think it'd be fun if there were locked chests containing rare items (maybe with addons?) scattered around the map that you could only unlock with a key, but i agree that as they are currently keys aren't great to play against. I'd love a rework.

I think it would be neat if there were unique and exclusive items that you could only get from locked chests and not blood webs

  • @MPUK said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/148787/keys-are-unhealthy-for-the-game

More healthy than a mori. Keys also require more work for multiple survivors to benefit from it. Get over it.

This idea that you have "worked hard" for a 3 gen is silly. There are only 2 options as far as I am concerned:

You've failed to protect the other 4 gens and you've got lucky that the survivors ######### up and gave you the last 3 near one another. Survivors who are paying attention won't get in to a 3 gen situation so you haven't really worked for it, you've been handed it.

You hovered around 3 gens all game desperate for a 3 gen then cry when it backfires on you. Again, very little work.

    So which is it?

The second option is so boring to play against and I imagine tedious to "create" too. I prefer to just chase and kill. That might be because I'm OK with understanding I'm playing a game and not playing for my life though.

You clearly don't play killer. Also 1. If the survivors ######### up and 3 gen themselves, a key is another second chance mechanic for survivors. 2. Low tier killers don't have many options besides try to set up a 3 gen or bring NOED. The devs have said that as a killer expect generators to get done. Is the alternative just to chase brainlessy like a bot and have 5 minute games? 3 gens is a solid strategy and far from boring. Get over it.

Sure, but once 5 are cleansed, your NOED still won't work. But those dullies will sure look nice. 😂

Then just make the Dull totems respawn too. Simple

  • @LALYTHIA said:

Keys are rare in matches. Get over it.

Legit dog ######### contribution. Nothing ever needs to be changed or discussed people just need to get over it.

  • Lets have respawning pallets if killers can have respawning Hex: Totems that change spots on respawn :^)

  • Because if i don't run meta perks i get ######### because the 4 survivors always have meta perks. There's a lot of cool builds i want to try but until i derank a lot it's just going to result in super quick games and getting called a baby killer

  • People who think DS is anti tunnel are delusional, If a guy i hook gets unhooked, runs over and unhooks someone else, and they both have DS, is that me tunneling half the team if i'm right there when they are doing this? What am i suppose to just leave them? Not to mention locker tech with DS. It's a stupid perk that only survivors mains defend

  • I catch a LOT of flak for playing Legion

  • Tap and Huntress

    Doctor and Nurse

    Claudette and Yamoka's estate

  • I just want them to make the extra blood points from bbq and we're gonna live forever basekit

  • Plague, Leatherface, and Michael are the only acceptable answers

  • Killer - Susie and Joey from the legion, Aldris(?) or Philip (Wraith). They are really the only innocent ones.

Survivor - The classic Nea joke but i think Jane would be neat as someone who snapped after falling from stardom

  • Every map is or has the potenial to be survivor sided due to rng spawns. The biggest problem with temple is its way to big

Please show me where specifically I advocated for a NOED nerf. I'd love to see that, because all I've been saying in here is that I think the game should have a totem counter so that solo survivors have the same information to work with that SWF have.

If killers truly are running NOED because games go by too fast, then they should be DELIGHTED that survivors are spending time looking for and cleansing all the totems. I wouldn't call that an effective nerf.

So unless you're running NOED for entirely different reasons, like, say, getting free kills when you fail to prevent survivors from doing all gens, then I'm not advocating for nerfing everything. Stop putting words in my mouth when you can't reply to what I actually said.

You said that unless a totem counter is implimented then it shouldn't exist in it's current interaction.

If there is no totem counter, please tell me how you would change NOED

You know, that "argument" holds zero merit, It's a lot easier to think the entire world is against you than to think critically about things. That's why the "Oh wow, Spirit and Nurse got nerfed because survivors complained, now they're gonna nerf EVERY SINGLE KILLER, rip Billy" came up in the first place. And that didn't happen. You know why? Because the devs aren't evil entities that hate killer players. They want their game to be good, believe it or not.

Did they nerf EVERY SINGLE SURVIVOR PERK after reworking DS and nerfing MoM? No, they just nerfed the unhealthy stuff. Did they nerf every strong killer after nerfing Spirit and Nurse? No, they only touched forever Freddy, which was unhealthy.

Instaheals are gone, toolboxes got nerfed, and moris are still in the game. Does that mean the devs are killer sided?

The sooner you stop thinking everyone is out to get you and realize that other people playing the game are human too, the better.

Think critically? You are advocating for nerfing a perk that is maybe active for 5% of the game, and has clear a clear counter play to it. Even if you don't cleanse all the totems finding NOED isn't that hard because the majority of totem spawns are super obvious. The whole reason NOED is being used is because without old ruin the game is still way too fast unless the survivors are legit throwing themselves at the killer.

Do you have a suggestion to make other options more attractive for killer? No, you just want NOED nerfed because you don't like it and refuse to do its counter play and then say everyone who disagrees with you is salty, not thinking critically and their argument has no merit. Pathetic

I don't understand the point of playing victim here considering that historically half of the posts here have been bitching about survivor perks or survivor gameplay in general, but okay.

The anti-NOED trend is recent because people have been running it more lately. Don't let that fool you though. If you've been here for more than a month, your comment doesn't match reality at all.

Because NOED is only run because ruin got gutted and games go too fast.

Also is the plan just to keep whining about killer perks until they all suck? What's next, BBQ or Infectious Fright?

  • @gantes said:

I hate this "just do totems" mentality.

The only way all five totems get done consistently is if it's a SWF, and everyone knows how much you guys love SWF right?

That doesn't happen with solo survivor. There's absolutely no way for each individual survivor to know how many totems are already done. Until this game has a totem counter, NOED is NOT "easy to counter".

Unless you're suggesting a single survivor does nothing besides look for dull totems and destroy them all game, that "logic" doesn't work at all.7

I'm all for having strong perks as long as the player has to do something in order to meet the condition to activate them. Adrenaline rewards survivors for completing their objective,so it's good. I'm a big advocate for the removal of locker DS because it takes no skill to do and provides too strong of an effect, and countering it is unrealistic quite a lot of the time. NOED falls in the same boat imo.

These are the same people who unironically said "Just pressure gens bro" when ruin was nerfed

I really dont know what game you play. In my games, gens get done. Yes, there are gens where the only gens being done are the gens i do, but those are the games i get out alone. But mostly 3-5 gens get done, and when all gens are done, its not uncommon for all 4 survivors to leave, altough often one gets caugth and camped. Depending on how altruistic the other survivors are, or if they are in an swf, the killer gets some more kills, or just the one.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1226854#Comment_1226854

How about we buff them if buffs are needed? That being said, i would wait for the changes to go online and gather data about it, and then see the state of killers and survivors based on that data, not on the forum feedback.

There hasn't been a point in this games history where survivors needed a buff

Ok so what now? Nerf all exhaustion perks to a one time use?

And thats just the balance of risk and reward with a hex totem, i think the odds are very even, good perks that can be prevented and mediocore perks that can be used one time per chase.

You got some weird defintions of good and mediocre. Lullaby, Third seal, thrill of the hunt are not good perks at all. Exhasution perks are a staple of survivor builds

Everytime they release stats they get a bunch of players claiming they lie about them to make survivor look harder, did you know the devs have released stats 4 times over the course of the years, and in those stats every kill rate has been above 50% and the people still claim that killer is this impossible side to play.

Kill rate is not a good way to determine the strength of a killer.

  • @Seanzu said:

The devs stated that no survivor perk was even close to the pick rate of what ruin was... besides self care.

You need to be patient when stabbing in frenzy. It's similar to when you hold your saw with Billy, or a hatchet with Huntress. You do it at just the right moment when their jukes are done. As for pallets, that's a skilled interaction between the survivor and the killer. It requires you to know when to respect, when to lunge through, when to bait and go around the short side. It never bothered me when playing Legion and it's something that you should embrace learning.

Yes i will embrace the dog ######### hit boxes, the weird auto aim, and the invisible pallet hit box.

  • @Peace said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/145395/exhaustion-vs-hex-totem

Ruin was used like 99% of the time and it was annoying. New Ruin is ok as it is, you can pair it with surveillance to have a nice map control as long as it stays.

The exhaustion perks arent that damn good, so Adrenaline can be match changing and can be complete garbage.

Dead hard is 50% not working cause of the dedicated servers, you can only properly use it to get to a window or pallet in time.

Sprint burst / lihte are good to avoid one hit / gain distance if used properly. But more than a few seconds more arent granted most of the time.

Balanced landing is still one of the best i think, cause even if exhausted you still dont make a noise und recover from falls faster. My go to perk at the moment.

But still its nothing in compare to a totem like devour that lets you one hit and mori someone. Or the old hex that was straight out annoying for new survivors and not really that big issue for the skilled survs.

Devour needs to stack and can just be completely wiped removed from the game, exhaustion perks will always be there

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

So you rant over the Ruin-Nerf by comparing it to Exhaustion Perks? This is... interesting.

I think Hex Totem vs Exhaustion perk is a fair comparison as they are each a mechanic unique to their respective side. Both sides have obsession perks and end game perks etc, but these sets are unique

  • @PrettyFaceKate said:

No power is meant to be uncounterable. SB works well against FF. However, look at the other side. There's very little that survivors can do to avoid a frenzy hit in general, SB being one of the few options.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1223143#Comment_1223143

If you're approaching a survivor and they're just looking at you walking away without hiding, then that's the sign they have SB 9/10 times. Don't use your frenzy until they have wasted it. If you're already in frenzy, rotate to a survivor nearby if available (you can fake going for the SB guy to make them waste it, if you think you will still have time to hit the other person). If there's no one else, then you can bait one direction and quickly change to cut them off, sometimes this will make them sprint right into you. Also, try to bait them in a way that they run toward a bad zone for them to be chased. If you're in frenzy and they use SB early, well, sometimes you just have to accept the tough luck.

If they can dodge one hit or pallet stun they auto end my power. There's only little they can do if they are in the middle of nowhere and even then they can go for a spin

  • @Cheers said:

Are you mad I said it should be okay that 1 survivor got away? lol

I mean my point was to show the difference about how easy it is to use one over the other but the whole thing about you saying ,"The killer hooked you once, it is fair that he mori's you. Just be thankful you got your points and he got more for killing you." I am fine either way. When I play killer if someone gets out using a key okay good for them. If I play survivor and get killed by a mori also good. I just go onto the next game. You are talking as though I was the one upset. I never once said something was wrong with moris but pointed out that it is easier to use them over keys. Take the anger down a level. Put a smile on and let's hug it out buddy. =)

Ebony mori's are sooooo simple to use you can hook and in most cases after that one hook the killer tunnels and kills.

Keys of the same color take work and time to actually use and you have to hope your team does their part and that you actually find the hatch.

  • @Wylesong said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/137764/keys-balanced

Ebony moris are super easy to use compared to the same color keys. I understand your situation you described with gen rush and that is just assuming every game will be like that. As someone who plays both sides I have used both Mori and Keys and I can say out of both I always get to use my mori and almost never get to actually use my key. I have used maybe 5 keys and only got to actually use one. Either my team never finishes enough gens or I can't find the hatch. I also noticed you were mad to lose one survivor but not every game should be a 4k kill. Be happy you got your points and that survivor got extra points for surviving. In the end my opinion is Ebony Moris are soooooo much easier and cheaper to use than any equivalent key.

The killer hooked you once, it is fair that he mori's you. Just be thankful you got your points and he got more for killing you.

The perk would be pretty much useless if they did that. DH doesn't need any changes. Devs care about BOTH sides. A few killers just got buffed and Toolboxes were pretty much nerfed into the ground. The Devs are working hard to make sure the game is as balanced as possible.

The devs do a pretty ######### job of balancing. If they preformed like this in any other job they would be fired. Tool boxes are still good, just not comically op like they were. In terms of buffs for killers plague got a fountain so she can use some of power. Woah, she might be top tier now! Dead hard just allows survivors to not give a ######### about their positioning. "Oh no i got caught, lemme just dead hard". The fact that it gives invincibility frames greatly increase the value of this perk. Without the frames you can still use it dodge attacks and dead hard to a pallet or vault, but then it wouldn't be insane. The perk is picked a lot at high ranks, the exact same reason why ruin got nerfed. The devs may be "trying" to balance the game but they are doing a piss poor job. This game has always been survivor biased.
