"Survivors have how many second chance perks?"
But yeah, im the one that's going off-topic sure!
What about keep on topic and accept that DS isn't a anti tunnel perk like you and plenty of other people think?
Because If you went back and read the thread you would find out that me and Meg were talking about what to do in the Scott video. He said slug, i said you can't because of the adrenaline. Then you start talking about second chance perks. But no, you're right. I and only ME derailed and went off topic.
Also brilliant counter point. "Why did you let that many survivors make it to end game". Damn you're right i should just 4k survivors every, 12 hooks, before 1 gen. Why do people let themselves get face camped? You know there are end game perks for killers who want to try and 3 gen or don't get going until exit gates are powered right? Should those never be used? NOED doesn't work until the end game. All of Freddys perks are end game oriented.
I was arguing with someone who thought it was anti tunnel and now i have to 180 to argue with someone who thinks its not. Also the devs are not the be all end all authority on this. This game was designed as hide seek by the devs and it clearly wasn't played like that.
What i'm saying is if it's an anti tunnel perk then you shouldn't have to DS activated at the same time. It's also serves a free escape if get unhooked and an exit gate is opened. With stuff like the locker DS tech whats the killer suppose to? Just let the survivor do what they want? Your argument in the other thread is literally let a survivor do whatever they want for 60 seconds if they go to a locker. If multiple DS are active should half the team just do what they want because lockers?

And why should survivor be punished only because he was playing wraith? but yeah let's punish survivors for outplaying the killer so the killer can have a chance only because he was playing wraith.
If maybe ScottJund could prevent the gen from being activated he could slug them, but sadly he didn't and the survivors are getting rewarded for their objective (Kind of like Pop Goes the Weasel, dont you think?)
But yeah let's punish the survivors!
"Don't derail"

I had 2 down around 10m near a Gate, when I picked 1 of them, DS. I picked the other 1, DS. Both of them tbag and leave.
This is why I have to tunnel each survivor after they have 1st hook. If they have DS, I willing to eat it so I dont deal with it in late game. If they dont have DS, they get 2nd hook, but then I will tend to leave them have their game until late game.
No they deserve that because they have DS and they opened gates so they deserve to escape don't punish survivors omg you think adrenaline is op

Yes they outplayed him by taking DS. Also at no point did i complain about Adrenaline. I was just pointing out ######### stupid saying "it's only good in chases" is. You and BigBrainMegMain have both tried to shift this to me complaining about adrenaline. Why is that? Please tell me.

And who said it is supposed to be a anti tunnel perk?
Get over this mindset, devs even said this when they reworked it:
"For the new iteration of Decisive Strike, we have introduced certain conditions and outcomes for using the perk, while retaining the core concept of providing a second chance at survival for those who successfully use it."
"some that we previously spoke of with the community. Ultimately, most of these ideas were shelved as we felt that they did not retain the essence of the perk, nor did they provide an overall improvement to the current version."
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/48381/design-decisive-strike
We have very inconsistent stances from the survivors in this thread. You say its not an anti tunneling perk. Lets Play Together said it is because you deserve it for tunneling both.

The real question here is, why did ScottJund let that happen? why there was 1 gen left ;)? Oh!! but let's punish the survivor instead!...
Oh and yeah, the second chances that killers let them work!!! yeah the one that works only cause of the killer mistakes?
ADRN: Only good on chases, survivors played with 3 perks the whole game, they get reward for doing their objective and punish killer for not preventing it, but yeah let's nerf it!
DS: We're discussing this so k.
BT: Why tunneling the unhooked instead of going for the unhooker? if they unhook in your face it is a hook trade.
DH: A perk that doesn't work and isn't really a second chance....
Damn you right was there only 1 gen left that should never happen to a wraith. You just explained what the second chance perks do. Adrenaline only good on chases. Or a being a free heal . Or unslugging yourself. Or being full health after unhook. Only good in chases though. In the Scott clip yeah that was a good hook trade. Oh wait they both had ds. Unlucky. Lets punish the killer there.

So if a survivor gets unhooked and youre tunneling this one, another survivor gets unhooked too. You down your tunneled survivor and go right after the second unhook. Both got tunneled. You would deserve both DS.
Darn just let the survivors do what they. Big brain plays

tunneling would be focusing on a single target. You get tunnel vision on them and them alone.

You just bring to the table 30s clips, how do you want us to discuss about that?
ScottJund clearly knew that claudette was recently unhooked, why picking her up? and he already throw the game by picking up kate, and anyways survivors shouldn't be blame, they were doing their objective pretty well (outplaying the killer)
And the hag clip, @BigBrainMegMain already said it, the second the killer picked up kate instead for going for the injure meg already says a lot why survivors are on endgame, I know decisions can make you lost the game, awesome dont you think so?
Ah yes so the play was to slug both and let them haste away with adrenaline as he couldn't make it to the last generator in time. Brilliant and inspiring game theory on killers from someone who probably doesn't play killer
Decisions can make you lose games and you should be punished for mistakes? Survivors have how many second chance perks?
-
Because you can't tunnel half the enemy team

That's the point I'd like to see some skill disparity at times as it can have benefits, an example being in normal play a low rank survivor will never learn in a good enviroment as they are also playing against low rank killers and with low rank survivors meaning they can easily pick up bad habits and get a poor representation of the game. Games never always had ranked matchmaking and it worked just fine I honestly think the mode might even be less tilting for a lot of players.
Oh i agree completely. I would love for an unranked mode. I also want a mode where the most picked perks would be disabled.

I think it is time to close this thread tbh, BigBrainMegMain already debunked killer mains arguments and yours as well
BigBrainMegMain just moved the goalposts constantly. Nothing has been debunked. First i needed to prove multiple ds were in a game, which i did. Then apprently i was complaining about adrenaline which i never did. They also never came up with a solid solution to the Scott Jund video i posted when their only suggestion was "slug" which was countered by the 4 man adrenaline pop. I've read your other thread about DS and your argument is "Let the survivor do whatever they want for a minute" or "slug". Nothing has been debunked about ds this thread. the only argument i've seen from survivors are "it does what it says it does" and "You can work around it and if you can't that's your fault for letting it get there".

I mean considering how bad the matchmaking system appears so be I'd like to see how it'd compare to just RNG of finding the lowest ping players available instead of this mmr system.
In terms of skill disparity it would be all over the place like ranked is already, i just think you would see a lot more random perk builds and a lot more troll games.
-
Ghosty has a way to hid terror radius, a one shot, and better teachables. Demo has better map pressure (even if his map pressure is pretty #########) and is the best user of STBFL. Demo ain't bad but Ghosty has em beat

It would probably be a bigger shitshow than ranked already is

The tunnel thread was more a shitpost. I just took survivors arguing about gen rushing being optimal/ not existing/ being the killers fault and just replaced the apprioate words to make it about tunneling.

I’ve been playing survivor a lot more recently after being a killer main for years and notice a hell of a lot of killers that tunnel...
I’m not talking unhooked in front of your face, toxicity etc. I’m talking purposely returning to the unhooked survivor just to hook them again.
So why do you do it? The excuse won’t work of “because it’s easier to 3 v 1” because we both know that’s BS it’s the easy way out instead of learning how to get better at the game.
We all play this game to have fun right? Killers wanna have fun and so do survivors right?
Tunneling somebody off hook isn’t fun for the survivor, it’s equally as frustrating for something that irritates you as killer whether it be body blocking or what not.
A simple solution would be for the devs to implement a ‘No blood point emblem score’ In short if you hook a survivor again within a certain grace period the killer is penalised for it, that being you gain no blood points or emblem for that hook. If they choose to camp that downed body then it gives the other solo and SWF survivors adequate time to do gens It’d derank killers into appropriate brackets until they learn how to play the game properly.
I’m well aware tunneling isn’t considers a “Bad word” by BHVR but I seriously think something should be done on this particular issue
Survivors don't give a rats ass about killers fun. And if i want to win making the game a 3v1 makes it way easier

There was 1 gen left, no gates opened and you don't know what he did wrong here?
He was too impatient and went for 2 pick ups when they were just unhooked. Who TF does that knowing there's an obsession?
That's just.....wow. lol
That's some Rank 20 plays right there.
Ah damn you're right. He tunneled both of them instead of chasing across the map to a gen that was gonna get finished even before he would've made it there. Thus giving them a lot of space to run away as they both had adrenaline. I don't think your a killer main.

Sorry, but DS's passive ability doesn't make the "power" roll helpless.
You have either the option to slug, or leave them alone and go for someone else.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1258347#Comment_1258347
That's all fine and dandy, but how many times have you died at endgame when you're the last one alive?
In MY experience, I've died many, MANY times before reaching the 5 gen end game. Typically gates spawn too close to each other, thus the killer getting his 4k. I highly doubt, DOUBT your situation is normal. I run DS myself and VERY VERY rarely I get to use it during end game.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/144/M1S2PLWX33PG.png
I have DS in every single build I have. I don't like being tunneled, I don't appreciate being single targetted by the killer who just wants "an easy kill."
And it's laughable, you don't have ANYTHING to show me from your experience? Nothing at all? If this did happen to most killers, some, mostly ALL would have some sort of proof that DS ruins their games.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/549/GBPWDDPYLGMH.png
This is my Console Profile.
3 Had DS, 1 escaped.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/051/FK3GSR4G2DTI.png
But these are the more typical matches.
NO ONE had DS.
The second the survivors uses their DS on a killer they flock to the forums and cry how OP it is, how unfair that they couldn't get their easy kill. They fabricate stories on how it was "during the end game collapse and the gates were open" or how "the survivor went into the locker, what other option did I have after I chased them when they got unhooked."
Please, I've heard every single excuse. And here I am, some matches are easy, some are difficult, but never, NEVER will I say DS is unfair.
"Fabricate stories of locker ds tech and people getting free escape after gate is open. Fabricate." Everything that has ever happend in Dbd is fabricated.

NOED does go unused all game yes and if it activates everyone is a one hit down which is quite strong in itself so I have no idea why you have tacked a mori on to it in your example? It does what the perk is designed to do. As does Devour Hope. As does Pop Goes The Weasel. As does Decisive Strike. The time it happens at is irrelevant. If they still have DS at that point of the game then yes, they are gone, so what? It is a game and they had a perk that enabled them to escape, a perk they banked on activating in order to ensure their survival.
You're now also moaning about Borrowed Time but if they get unhooked with BT that will probably get them out anyway, so DS doesn't even come in to it in that example. These perks exist because so many killers camp and tunnel. These perks wouldn't need to exist if there wasn't so many ######### players out there. Your desperation to camp and tunnel is what resulted in those perks you despise being created.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1258347#Comment_1258347
So where is the proof both of these DS were active at the same time? Which is what your initial moaning was regarding.
I'm not sure what you mean by what I should try and spin? I don't need to spin anything, if they have DS and they used it to escape then the perk did its job. I don't know what you want from me? To say hard luck they should remove a perk from being used because you lost a kill due to it? Just let it go. DS happens. As I said to the guy above in this post, these perks exist due to killers using ######### plays.
The point i was making was if DS is suppose to be an anti tunnel perk, which you say it is when you said "Your desperation to camp and TUNNEL is what resulted in those perks you despise being created" then there shouldn't be two Ds active at the same time. Then i get told that multiple DS in the same game doesn't happen. So i post a game i just played that has two DS and explain a different situation on how DS can just be a free escape for people. So then you move the goal posts to "Prove they were both active". My god, if i did that you would probably say "Prove you didn't tunnel them". Your entire argument is a perk does what it's description says so it's fine.

I would say you don't have it in nearly every game either, you just think you do because ypure so fixated on it ruining your game. My experience recently of having a lot of games with no obsession is why I call bullshit on this. The downside of no DS in the room is that killers tunnel the ######### out of people knowing they have nothing to stop them.
Game i literally just played. 2nd got out because a gate was opened and she got unhooked. Had to down her because she was body blocking for the other survivors. Lets see how you spin this

This.
You're changing your story now.
And what's wrong with DS if 1 person has it? How is this ONE person ruining your gameplay?
How are you allowing this ONE person to use their DS against you?
What are you on about? Changing my story? It's a very common perk and at least one person in every game has it. That's because it's a common perk. So that would also mean that there are a lot of games where multiple people have it.

Prove that you have multiple Decisive Strikes active at once.
It rarely happens. And I doubt you're getting lobbies with 2+ people running it because I run SWF through the DBD Discord and not many people even consider using it and/or not many people have it.
It's in the majority of games i play at the very least. 1 person almost always has it.

For BHVR to have no negative to being in a SWF is crazy, then add onto that they play with communications which they have to accept as they can't obviously detect comms makes it beyond crazy.
BHVR's attitude to this in the past was to ignore it and not show the killer or other survivors if they had played an SWF, when starting to play this game I didn't have a clue why I thrashed one team then not another when skill level didn't appear to be the problem.
Now I'm a red rank killer (before the recent Wraith nerf/bug) and understand why but nothing incetivies the killers to play SWFs (mainly on comms).
BHVR appears to be improving their game and would like to suggest two options when the killer plays SWFs, for them to either take an improved BP or for the developing killers a slow down (like thana) imposed only on the SWF players.
I like the idea of SWF by talking with your friends and it shouldn't be taken away but it is at the expense of the killers fun / tryhard sweat and tears. Now I enjoy a challenge facing the SWFs but this can have a negative effect on up and coming players.
The problem is that in a 4v1 one game the 4 strenghts should come through coordination and teamwork. When you get those 4 man swf death squads it really shows the power of communication and teamwork. the 1, or the killer in this case is suppose to be a lot stronger than any of the survivors individually. That's pretty debatable. Survivors can loop killers for several minutes given the right set up, and the killer can't really do a whole lot except just leave them. They don't want to buff the power the killer has in a 1v1 because that hurts solo survivors and BHVR cares more about survivors than killers anyways.
-
If you're new to survivor it's super good to let you know what you have to work with and which pallets you can avoid dropping.
The more you play and the better you get at understanding map layouts and what's likely to be used and not then it starts to lose it value.
Overall it's okay but there are a lot better options
-
@BabyCameron10 said:
I was thinking about this after players have repeatedly asked for a buff to him. In my opinion I would decrease his reload speed and make him give survivors the exhaustion status by default when a survivor is hit directly by a bottle. The Clown is honestly the only killer that should give exhaustion status to survivors, it makes sense to his lore. Also make him body slam forward like a shred attack like The Demogorgon with his belly, something fun. This is all I could think of, there is not much the devs can do. He is going to need the afterpiece Tonic as his power no matter what. What would you guys do to him?
Refill bottles on hook, reloads bottles one at a time, but overall reload time the same. Remove slowdown when throwing a bottle.
If not that then rework the poor boy

The thing about BBQ is that it is a good perk for tracking.
See auras? Go there.
Don't see auras? Look around the area of the survivor you just hooked.
WGLF doesn't really get anything, which is why I agree it needs to be given a buff or an effect other than just more BP.
I think the extra bp should just be basekit on survivors and killers. do that then give we're gonna live forever some effect. BBQ is great but there's times i don't really need the far away tracking (Trapper/Hag mostly) or i want to use some other perk but i slap BBQ on for the bp anyways

No.
Just no.
Just give WGLF a buff so it's more commonly used, leave the BP stacks for both.
It's the only thing that makes the grind in this game a lot more easier and worth it.
Oops. I forget to say that the stacks should just be base kit for killer and survivor. I feel like i miss out on too much bp if i dont take bbq even though there would be better perk choices for the build im using

The Killer is not responsible for any of their actions, apparently.
Except, no. When you play solo survivor, YOU are not your teammates. You cannot depend on randoms to do the right thing and should not have to be victim because of their inability to play well or carry the right perks for their attempted game play. The person on the hook has ZERO CONTROL over what's happening. The survivor off-hooking only has MILD CONTROL over what's happening. The Killer has TOTAL CONTROL over what happens post-off-hook. So yes, A LOT of the onus is on the Killer in this situation.
And you forget that sometimes there is no way NOT to off-hook within the Killer's terror radius when they refuse to go anywhere. Which is super ######### often these days.
I don't disagree...there are idiot people who could have made a safe save and don't. THOSE PEOPLE SHOULD DIE. Not the poor person on the hook - who doesn't know them and had nothing to do with the decision. And it's completely in a Killer's control to make that decision.
No one is deflecting blame. You are ignoring Killers who intentionally camp and tunnel. A killer can leave the radius of the hook, but stay close enough that while the hook animation is taking place they can get back in eyesight of the hook easily and tunnel. Did the survivor wait until it was as safe as it was ever going to bed? Yes. Did the Killer still make a toxic choice to run back to the hook to tunnel, absolutely. This happens every. #########. day.
There is absolutely no comparison between doing gens and tunneling. Tunneling is one of the most toxic and idiotic way to play this game if you want people to continue to play with you. And as much as you clearly immerse yourself in the role of Killer, it's not expecting a psychopath to "go along with your idea", it's expecting another fellow game lover and human being to give a tiny bit of shits about someone other than themselves.
Damn you're almost as salty as killers who cry about gen rushing. Just doing the objective efficiently is all. If yoou don't want no control on the hook then don't get hooked

@LALYTHIA said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/149976/tunneling-the-just-gen-rushing-for-killers
No.
"Gen rushing" is survivors literally just doing their objective. It is a made up term, when it's applied to survivors simply doing gens, which is in no way 'toxic' nor does it solely ruin the Killer's game. If people only used the term to describe teams of people who bring coordinate toolboxes/perks/BNPs to literally RUSH gens, then I could understand. But it's typically just used to describe any survivor doing any gen. That is where it loses any actual meaning. There is no alternative way to do a gen. There is only one way. Doing gens also doesn't disable the Killer from doing their objectives, in fact, the opposite. A person doing a gen is easier to find/chase and allows for the killer to get destruction points.
Tunneling, on the other hand, is just a lazy means of killing survivors in a way that doesn't require any skill in any other aspect of the game, and disables survivors from participating in the game unless they run the oh-so-hated DS or their teammates run BT, which because of tunneling are absolutely essential now. And even then, they just prolong the inevitable if a Killer is hellbent on tunneling you. It ruins the survivors game. It disables them from doing objectives. Unlike gens, there are plenty of other methods to killing survivors.
Tunneling is a thing, and it is a toxic choice. In the majority of cases, as described, gen rushing is not toxic, nor is a choice.
Yes.
Tunneling is just a made up term by salty survivors who can't accept that making the game a 3v1 instead of a 4v1 drastically increases the chances of a killer being able to protect his gens. Crying about tunnelings is just survivors being lazy with their team work and expecting the killer to spread out hooks inefficiently.

That isn't the only tunnelling. Tunnelling includes a killer chasing me for all 5 gens just because I did something to annoy him. Some killers deliberately throw the game just to tunnel one survivor, rather than leave them and try and get other survivors.
If i go back to a hook as a save happens and i ignore the healthy survivor body blocking me to down the guy i just hooked, is that tunneling?

Its probably not. For just chasing one person you lose all map pressure you may be able to apply. If played right by others its the exact same outcome as camping. Its NOT efficient.
Gen rushing can be inefficient if you 3 gen yourself. If i hook a guy, and then find him and another team mate later. I will chase the guy i hooked even if his other team mates try to prevent it. No point in spreading hooks out

Disagree on this. All gen rushing is doing the objective. However a killer can tunnel a survivor that much that they lose the game.
Just hook him, find someone else and slug them, and then go back to hook if he was rescued and immedialty go back on him. Just efficient killer play is all

So then show me how youre speficially preventing someone else from doing its objective by doing gens. Killer is still able to do what he needs to do (chasing, downing, hooking). If a survivors gets tunneled he cant do gens at all. tunneling is just to annoy other players.
Tunneling is just doing the killers job efficiently

It CAN be a good strategy. If they have DS and it's early game, then you KNOW they don't have it later and you can just kill them the next time you come in contact.
You have to remember that with DBD there's no one-size-fits-all strat to win all games. Sometimes its good to slug, sometimes tunnel, or just pick the person up right away and spread out your pressure. That's what makes a good killer, being able to decide when to do what. Killer is as much a strategic role as it is mechanical skill.
I think worst case scenario is all 4 survivors have been hooked twice. That means you got 8 hooks off, but nobody is dead, when technically that's enough hooks to kill 2 survivors. That's hardly efficient. It's definitely good to take one player off the board, but not if you throw the whole game doing so.
If one survivor is dead and one is on the hook, that means one person has to rescue, which means only one gen is being worked on, and it's being worked on by only ONE survivor. Nobody is stacking gens or spreading their pressure on gens out. Having one person dead changes the game massively, so don't feel bad about killing somebody off early if it's a good opportunity to do so and you don't end up just chasing a good looper while gens get ran through.
TL;DR It can be viable because killing off one survivor early on massively changes the course of the game and gives the killer a huge pressure advantage.
Hook 2 slug 2 is the ideal strategy. The only time it's not is when the survivors are 4head and throw themselves into you and you can snowball and end the game. Spreading out hooks on 4 people is a terrible approach, the only reason to do it is to be nice. Whether you think the killer's goal is to protect gens or to kill, tunneling someone out of the game accomplishes both goals.

IS IT THOUGH?
Why must we cling to this outdated ideology that kills are a killer's sole objective?
Is it not more fun to simply enjoy the hunt and inflict pain onto others? To stall out and control the flow of the game? To REVEL in the gleeful anarchy of tormenting your victims and making them beg for a merciful end?
What I'm saying is extend the game and get some emblems. It's better for everyone and way more fun.
Maybe survivors shouldn't just prioritize the light bringer and unbroken ones. Get in some chases, mind game the killer, heal people up. Get some emblems, some points, better for everyone

To not get hit by BT + DS if you can't afford to eat it? Even with just DS they're basically a healthy target as you'll have to hit them twice to put them on a hook again just like a healthy survivor, if BT is used as well they're basically healthier than a regular healthy survivor.
You can of course down them and just wait out DS, but at that point you're basically camping a survivor that isn't even going through the sacrifice process on a hook. If a bad save is made and you can quickly slug them and immediately get on the unhooker that's some easy free pressure though of course.
Because if DS is the same as going after a healthy survivor, just go after them anyway to put them back on hook so they die sooner. It is the killers objective after all

Because tunneling isn't ignoring every other survivor that is there and going after one person for no discernible reason.
Gen rushing is ignoring bones and in some cases even healing

Gonna have to go with Trapper since, you know, no one steps in traps.
Just slug the last survivor and hit em with that full bleed out timer trap farm
