No, killers didn't ask for it, they simply pointed out that because of how the game is in its current state, camping and tunneling is a viable way to secure kills. It doesn't mean that wanted that to be the most efficient tactic available.

You're conflating the issue by suggesting that because killers pointed out an objective fact, that its what they wanted all along, which simply isn't true.

I'm...honestly not sure what they are trying to do besides some vague hand-wavey:

'Oh yes, all those killers are to blame!'

    'Which killers?'

    'THOSE killers, all THOSE killers'

    'No, which killers, specifically?'

    '...' <silence>

It's like the inverse of a NTS fallacy. We'll see if @Firellius can actually back this one up, especially their claim that BHVR are conspiring with this invisible, secret organization of killers - so secret that I don't think I've seen a single credible one in recent memory - to make tunneling stronger.

Just in a match against The Blight, who is playing with anonymous mode activated. I'm running Smash Hit and Parental Guidance, got a hit and was able to lose LOS and reach a random room in Leary's. He knew exactly where to go! Perhaps it was a good guess, so I don't think too much of it. Two of my friends are running Distortion, and one was in a random pile of junk where there's a totem crouched hiding and he went to that precise spot. This wasn't just one or two occurrences, this was every single chase. It didn't matter what perks were you using, he always knew exactly where to go. He was deliberate and consistent in locating everyone.

This console-only cross play. It doesn't matter how many people they banned with their announcements, people sell accounts online with every character at P100 so they can just circumvent the bans. So what is going on exactly? Is there a list of all the exploits? Not how to do them but just what they are and what they do. This is really annoying, it's becoming fairly common in my experience. A lot of unexplained repeated weird situations.

    Shrug.

It could well be a hacker.

It could also just have been someone with some amazing gamesense.

It could also be a specific addon.

It could also be an exaggeration, and more that it 'felt' that way but wasn't actually that way in reality.

Without more to go on, there's no way to tell.

    That said...

Yes, hacking is a problem. But it's also a stupidly lucrative global business. Even companies with expensive proprietary anti-cheats have hacker epidemics, and if you're willing to spend the money, you can buy a hacking suite for nearly any game you can name.

The only games that have less of a problem are the ones that are entirely server side.

3 matches in a row now to where the killer gets his hands on me and then refuses to leave the area of the hook. i can watch paint dry i can stare at the clock i can do literally anything and get the same result as i do playing the game in its current state, and unfortunately that leads me to come to the conclusion that until this is fixed i might as well just not play for the time being.

That sounds more like camping. But yes, it can be annoying.

So...how exactly do you 'address' tunneling without it being a massive buff to survivors?

Because, watching the recent tournaments, at a certain level of play killers literally have to focus one survivor out of the match ASAP to stand a chance, and even then they'll often end up with 1-2 kills maximum.

  • @Firellius

Yeah, I wasn't responding to the 'stop doing gens at 33%' part, darling.

I can assure you, I'm not your 'darling'...that's some mad creeper energy there, mate.

Then what part, specifically, were you responding to? Because you block quoted.

That's what I'm referring to. I specifically mentioned him as a killer that, after hooking a survivor, can very quickly start a new chase.

Sure. And survivors can, potentially, blow up all 5 gens in around 3-4 minutes with the right perks and offerings - rendering this entire discussion moot.

How about we stop focusing on 'can' and instead look at how the game actually plays out on the ground?

What's much more likely on Demo is he hooks, then he does a KI scan with his portals, then zooms off to the furthest gen. He's not really an interceptor.

  • @Firellius

I'm still waiting for you to respond to my earlier question regarding your claim.

Which killers specifically asked for any of this?

I'm looking for names. Because you keep claiming this, but you haven't even tried to back it up once.

If you can't back it up...then why are you fabricating some sort of 'killer/BHVR' conspiracy theory?

Do you know what an analogy is?

In this case? Figurative speech designed to illustrate a point by comparing one of the items under discourse to another.

He's saying that telling killers to 2-hook everyone before killing anyone is like telling survivors they need to partially complete 5 gens before finishing any of them.

That depends very much on a wide variety of circumstances. If the repairing survivors are on the other side of the map, the rescue and healing is going to take way longer. If the killer has good mobility (Sadako, Dredge, Demogorgon) a new chase can be started very quickly. You can intercept the person going for the unhook, which means the time they spent moving to the hook now benefits the killer instead.

Can is the operative word here. It's a possibility, sure, but it's not exactly a likelihood.

Also...what's Demo doing on that list? Demo isn't going to be intercepting, he's going to be using his portals to try and pressure gens. Then generally losing because of how bad shred is now.

They are adamantly against camping/tunnelling nerfs,

Okay, let me ask again because you keep dodging this.

    Who is 'they'?

and want 12-hooking to be buffed to the point where it exceeds camping/tunnelling in efficiency, -without- nerfs being applied to camping/tunnelling.

    And again.

Who, specifically, is asking for this?

    Can you give some examples?

I appreciate that you may be of the opinion that camping/tunnelling should get nerfed, but that wasn't the case for the crowd that BHVR listened to when they designed 6.1 and onwards.

    See above.

    • Who exactly is BHVR listening to?
    • Be as specific as you can.

Missing a skill check when letting go of a generator will now lead to a loss of potential energy tokens.

Why this perk even exist anymore?

It was really bad before, but now just horrible

That's how it's always worked though?

    @HoodedWildKard said:

It was always intended to do that. It just didn't work properly. Bit of a shame really. It's an immensely bad perk, you get tokens slower than normal repair speed which is fine. But losing all the tokens on a hit make it utterly useless. Lose them on a gen blowup sure.

Otherwise it'd have a niche use to help prevent 3 gens. But as it stands it's a dead perk

No, PE is an insanely strong perk. You just need a team to make it work.

The core use isn't 'faster gens', it's the ability to blow up the final gen or break a 3gen.

    It's absolutely high reward.

    @HugTheHag said:

They should get rid of that random skillcheck popping up when letting go of a gen alltogether.

Or at least give it the Overcharge treatment and make it follow the player.

I think folks have been suggesting this for ages. No idea why the RNG test is still in the game.

is that a thing? so you can then stomp not so experienced players?

    Yep.

Smurfing is a thing in...basically every game with matchmaking.

It was way worse under ranks too, and there were even Fog Whisperers doing it openly and notoriously.

I don't necessarily hate it, as some smurfs are pretty nice, just a little insecure and struggle with losing/the BM and gloating that survivors seem to always do when winning.

The only smurfs that really bother me are the ones who do it expressly to be jerks to new players.

Otz does it all the time on his killstreak challenges. I noticed this recently that he prefers to let the 4th player go.

If I get 6 or more games in a row with 4k you can bet that the next game will literally a SWF team with ~30k hours playing against me.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3334172#Comment_3334172

Try it for yourself. Get as many 4k's in a row as possible (when not playing Nurse/Blight/killer with amazing iri addons) and then see what legendary survivor heroes you get to bring you down. As long as it isn't extremely late at night you will get shut down by some incredible team.

Giving the last survivor hatch/gate has been a thing for as long as I can remember.

That said...does he? I don't see him do it much.

    It's actually pretty annoying as, I swear, it's a frigging lose/lose.

Don't give the last survivor an out? 'OMG killers so sweaty, can't even give hatch'.

Give the last survivor an out? 'OMG smurfing'.

    Ugh.

I'll tell you where it goes: Straight to 100% kill rate, because survivors literally cannot finish gens if the killer can break it down as fast as they can optimally repair it.

There's a reason gen regression never hit the same speed as survivor repairs: Because it's broken as heck. I mean, you're even taking 400% repair speed when the only way survivors ever hit that is if the killer is literally AFK. Vast majority of time, if the killer keeps the pressure up, that repair speed is going to be around 100%: One survivor on hook, one in chase, one on rescue duty, only one on gen.

    ...

Why are you taking an analogy literally?

The devs are definitely capable to fix these map issues they are just slow when it comes to fixing them. Different patch notes have listed them fixing these types of spots on different maps multiple times. Unfortunately issues on maps come back, even when they don't touch the maps in that patch. Lery's has had multiple uncleansable totem spots that they fixed and then would return a few patches later.

Punishing players for bugs the devs are slow to fix is not a solution. Holding the devs accountable to actually fix the issues on the maps is the solution. You hold the devs accountable by making bug reports when you encounter these issues.

    Wait...hang on.

Are you implying that killers aren't players?

Because if this can't be fixed, and - by your logic - we shouldn't do anything to 'punish' survivor players for using these spots to take games hostage, how is this not punishing killers?

This is what he actually said if anyone is interested. So no tunneling is not necessary according to Otz himself. People love to misrepresent what he says. What he's actually saying is that tunneling is better than ever so people are naturally going to gravitate towards it. He never says the game is too hard as killer or anything of the sort. He didn't even mention gen rushing or regression being weak in his video that I can remember. People tunnel because it's easy mode. Especially against disorganized solos. I wish people would just be honest enough to admit that's why they do it. This whole idea that you can't win without tunneling is silly. It's also likely why some people are so desperate to see SWF nerfed. Since tactics like this have a much lower success rate against good teams. Good team = more second chance perks, better gen efficiency, better looping = less likely tunneling will succeed.

    Did you watch the video?

  • @Pulsar

I haven't seen Reassurance be used impactfully in over 3 weeks. If you trust NightLight (I do not) then it has a measly 4% pick rate. It's really not a very common perk at all and it's even rarer for it to get value

Generally it's only really used in comp, because camping (as Otz explains pretty decently) is a much riskier proposition and so it...just doesn't happen much anymore unless the killer is getting chumped.

The power of DH has been significantly reduced. It's completely counter-able right now and is genuinely a skillful interaction between the Killer player and Survivor player. It is not even COMPARABLE to old DH which was press a button to extend the loop guaranteed, no skill required and no opportunity for an outplay. Base-kit BT, Off the Record and regular BT (which I do not see too often) are all counter-able by simply....hitting the Survivor as soon as they're off hook, even if you don't chase them, it eliminates any value they may get from it for the next 80 seconds. It's FAR easier for me to tunnel.

It was -38 Celsius last night.

    Tonight it's -24.

Yes, it's warmer than last night, but it's still bloody freezing.

DH is a bit of a problem, because it carries with it a ton of passive deterrence, almost like a survivor version of zoning. Getting hit by DH can be even worse than the old one, especially since our old friend 'fake hit' is back where it'll look and sound like a hit, which can buy that survivor more time.

The thing about baseline BT is that, aside from the killers that can completely negate endurance (this should be fixed), it does buy you time. You may die, but if you can run the killer for a while the other survivors may escape.

Yes, that sounds weak from a solo perspective, but survivor is the 'team' role.

Punishing the players with DC penalties because the devs have not fixed known bugs is not the solution.

Again - if they were able to fix this, you...don't think they would have?

What exactly is the solution then - because, as things stand, you can basically take a match hostage for 20-30 minutes.

TL;DR: Killers got everything they asked for and are failing to realise that none of it was what they wanted.

That's not what anyone asked for. What?

    Killers wanted:

    • Lower tier killers to be more viable.
    • Useless killer addons reworked.
    • Maps rebalanced so there isn't such a start delta between good and bad killers.
    • Gens slowed down a bit.
    • More perks made viable.
    • Dead Hard nerfed.

They got...a few of those things, but they also got faster gens in SWFs and after Eruption gets gutted, the meta will be less flexible than it was before 6.1.0.

How in the HELL is any of that what killers asked for?

Ds stun is lot shorter and not many people use it. Also killer perks support tunneling more than before so it's more viable strat than before.

DS stun is still absolutely fit for purpose. I was in the 'this perk is useless now' camp for a while, then I saw Ayrun and other tourney players using it and went 'oh, yeah, this is still bonkers powerful'.

How do killer perks support tunneling more than they did pre 6.1.0 though?

  • @GrimReaperJr1232 said:

Something I think goes unmentioned: While there are base tools against tunnelling, there are fewer "layers" of protection than before. Whether it'd be DH, OtR, or BT, your only protection is Endurance. After that, you're dead. Before, there was BT, DS, and then Dead Hard to power through.

No, there's about the same - except now you can get baseline BT/OTR into DS into DH.

On the record, as this poster has continued to claim this throughout the thread - with the implication that there's some sort of weird conspiracy between some nebulously defined cabal of killer mains and BHVR themselves...I'm issuing a challenge for them to actually back this up.

If they do, I will update this post accordingly.

Literally got me killed because he'd unhook me, then followed me around trying to heal me and teabagging constantly, then would miss the first check and run away.

  • @IronKnight55 said:

We need it basekit. How often does this happen?? Slugging happens way too often. I've lost count at how many times I've been slugged and left to bleed out. It needs a fix.

It doesn't matter how often it happens now.

It matters how often it will happen once people can use it to basically take a game hostage forever.

Case in point - Boil Over.

    @bm33 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3331379#Comment_3331379

So if I got slugged under a hook and get 3 crows I'd get hit with a DC and penalty? Killers would definitely abuse that just to make survivors either waste 4 minutes bleeding out or eat a DC penalty. It would be a dream for killers running Knock Out until bleedout builds.

BHVR should fix the exploit of that spot the survivors were going to to avoid being picked up and if there isn't already you should make a bug report of that spot.

As for players that hide all match, I'd be all for a basekit Whispers that activates after 90 seconds of killer having no interaction with survivors. If survivors have enough time to complete a gen without interaction with a killer there's no reason gens shouldn't be completed, if gens aren't getting done it should be because the killer is interacting with survivors so there is no need for Whispers to kick in.

Just...make it not work on slugs?

These spots have been reported maybe thousands of times since the game's inception. Some of these have been around for 3+ years.

If they were fixable, they would have been fixed.

    Another solution is needed.

    If everyone's identical.

Maybe coincidental if it's a new rift cosmetic or something in the shop.

But four identical survivors with the same item otherwise? Something frustrating is going to happen...

Oh yeah, those are weird border cases where it really depends who I'm on.

Like...Plague? I can go double apple and hurt them.

    Myers? TSP and Memorial.

    Hag? Shackles and Locust.

Spirit? MDR and Blossom (if they ever fix them).

    Onryo? Remote and Drawing.

Hell, even Pig can go Videotape and either Tampered Timer or RSN2.

There's a few killers who can really step on the gas if needed, or are powerful enough in their own right and I'm decent enough on (Dredge, Artist, Nurse and Wesker) that even if I lose to a nightmare comp I don't necessarily mind because...let's just say they'll remember me.

But if I'm on Demo, Deathslinger, Cenobite, Trapper etc. then nope.

    The only exceptions are:

    • They have legacy or exceedingly rare cosmetics because yeah, that's a hacker group.
    • They are all in a 'Blendette' or similar outfit because that's going to be a 'haha enjoy spending the next 40 minutes of your life looking for us in Midwich' squad.

More pallets and it's bigger iirc.

Yeah, that's the one with the over/under loop I was describing I think. That's one of two loops that I'm finding I can run most killers on for a stupid long time.

    Argh...

Earlier today, we ended up in Wretched Shop and I spawned with a Claudette. She has PTS, so we start eating the gen.

In comes a Bubba at full speed. Claudette runs and hides the second she hears the TR. I stay on the gen, he bulls in, I try to vault out...and Claudette is crouched behind the damn window - and I get camped.

It's...fine. You need to make sure that at least one of those 3, preferably 2 of them get done early.

Unless the killer is doing nothing but patrolling and defending those 3 from the match start, that's unfortunately a team error.

Yeah but we are not facing bots. The killer goes straight into the strong 3 gen and there isn't much that can be done call of brine you know

Call of Brine...just tap it and it's gone.

If a killer is staking out a 3gen early, you need to try and get them into a chase while your team works on the gens.

If they refuse to chase, and are literally just going to stall the game - that's close enough to a hostage situation that it's worth a report.

    @Riski said:

I agree the 3 gens on this map are a bit good, it's a large map but considering about a 1/4 doesn't have any objectives (behind main) it really isn't. Maybe a good idea to push the gens more towards the edges to help create space or make the map generation a bit more careful to space them out?

It's a map with some advantages for killer (strong 3gen potential, some pretty mean hooks) and some advantages for survivor (crazy safe loops, tons of good pallets, a very strong main structure).

If you want to make gens a lot safer, you'd need to weaken some of those pallets.

RPD has some bloody strong loops and pallets though. There's the one where you...how would I explain this one? You probably know it. Vault off the top, back in through the door, vault into the office, around, back up to the top and vault again.

The big design flaw seems to be the guaranteed 2 gens in the main hall which...that has to be a bug and there's often a 4gen, meaning there is zero way to not get 3genned.

Idk what the hell is wrong with some players. Load into a lobby as clown, my aposematism sense starts to tingle. I see two high prestige survs with torches and neon outfits. One with a hidden name

Switch on lightborn because that's smart. Start game. Catch and down first surv after a brief chase, 180 and pickup, sure enough a brightly coloured nea springs out of the bushes for a well practiced torch save.

Oh well, I like to feign trying to avoid torches to mindgame beamers but she gets me fair and square. Lightborn does it's job. I hear the DC sound and I'm like "oh surv DCs on first down ffs" then I realise. It was the would be torch saver who DC'd. 🤣 Never laid a finger on her. She wasn't running distortion so clearly is intimately familiar with torch saving. I'm running a kill surv by any means challenge so I lose one kill but now game is in the bag.

Other would be torchy bully takes chase after I hook and bash a gen. Give them a smack, they vault and start to teabag me. Ooh you mad cocky for someone injured in my sightline. They lead me to a pallet, i dodge the stun and break the pallet, they go for the blind and they have nowhere to run but open ground. My DH sixth sense tingles and I sure enough hold off the hit and they throw it early. Downed, give them a single quick nod (serves you right for tbaggin). And instantly DCs. Well that's rude.

Now I'm cheated out of 2 kills. If it wasnt for my kill challenge I'd have just said F it and let last 2 go. Because 2 DCs was not their fault. But I have a challenge and I'm going to get some damn progress on it.

The weirdest thing is that hunting down and catching the last 2 survs was a lot of effort. Because they were damn good in chase. If the ragequitters had more impulse control when being outplayed than your average 4 year old they would've probably popped all 5 gens and got an escape. But no, they couldn't use their favourite bully toy and clearly either can't run a good loop or are only in it to bully easy killers.

I'm not even that mad, still got me a 2k for my tome and realistically they probably helped me since I feel like it'd have been a 0k or 1k with a hard facecamp. But if I was one of those other survs, I'd be furious.

In the next week or so, I'll be putting up some of the statistics I've gathered over the past few months.

Let's just say...almost a third of my games have a suicide or a DC, when I play killer.

    That's bonkers.

Bought Blight, been having fun being absolutely terrible at Mr. Pinball.

I just wonder who must've been going around Ormond dousing everything in lubricant. Sure, it's all cold and icy, I guess, but I swear most ice ain't that slippery (especially whatever would be coating the inside parts). xD

Haha yes, I also think of him as a pinball. If I had the attention span, I'd do a video compilation of me learning him with pinball sound effects. And I'm still terrible at him - he's just so, so fun to play.

Not sure about Ormond, the doodads there have always been weird. Just wait until you hit Haddonfield...

Joey's Mixtape has great potential if you change the effect from Haemorrhage while in Feral Frenzy to Undetectable during the second Chain Hits.

Why? this helps Legion to make Chain Hits reachable with no heartbeat and red stains, so survivors will have to be careful when Legion is in the Feral Frenzy phase

    What do you guys think?

Are there any ideas for Joey's rework?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/C2PLO78LY67K/fulliconaddon-joeysmixtape.png

Undetectable would mean no killer instinct though.

    I'd go something very different.

    • Feral Frenzy hits no longer apply a Deep Wound.
    • Feral Frenzy hits now apply Mangled.
    • Feral Frenzy requires one fewer hits to grant instadown.

When I meet a hacker, I can be sure he's using a hack. If you reveal a hacker user's aura, you can see in real time how he turns his eyes from place to place for additional information through walls.

But even if I'm sure they're hacking, it is difficult to report because it is circumstantial evidence.

You'd probably think I was a hacker XD.

I have one really bad ear, so I often turn my avatar like that.

  • @AJStyIez said:

Some of you honestly don't belong in PvP games and it shows on the forums, YT comments, DBD Twitter and Reddit. Just because you're new to or bad at the genre doesn't mean the entire landscape should be changed to suit your needs

If we left it up to some people in this thread then half of the Killer roster would be deleted and the other half would be blacklisted with the exception of the worst M1 Killers since they're bullyable and take little experience to loop

    Eh...

On one hand, boy do I disagree with the OP.

On the other hand, vetos/bans aren't something uncommon in PvP games. I don't think it would work in DbD, but I've heard worse ideas.

    Today.

  • @Tobe said:

Unlike speed hack, ESP(Wall hack) is not easy to submit video recording as evidence.

However, there are currently a lot of people using ESP in DBD. I've even seen a hack user who always reveals the location of all players, structures, and totem live streamed.

I know that sometimes when you're overwhelmed in a game, you're under the illusion that your opponent is cheating. However, after playing this game for 3,000 hours, I just know when the opponent is leading the game to an advantage with information that they could never get.

So my question is: are the developers processing reports on ESP? And if they're doing it, do they check the logs and deal with it without the need of a video evidence?

Are you sure he's not just using a map?

(In all seriousness yeah, hacking sucks - just faced an obviously wallhacking/speedhacking Freddy, but there's not much you can do).

Sometimes i cannot blind killers when they break pallets as well but saves have been fine

It seems to be something involving the angle.

If they come from the side, they can save.

If they try for a 'full frontal' then it fails.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

I submitted a bug report for this. There's at best an inconsistency with blinding killers during the break pallet animation currently.

If I had to guess, it could be that the base kit lightborn while pulling a survivor out of a locker is bugged and it's being applied to other forms of interactions. I haven't had a pallet blind work for me, as either role, since the patch, but others seem to have it work sporadically.

That would make a lot of sense!

  • @HugTheHag said:

There might be something wrong, yes !

I've played killer a little bit this weekend and over a few games, I had a few weird flashlight interactions. Like, I'd pick up a survivor, realize as I'm looking back up that someone ran up to me and is blinding me, but I neither get the red screen nor the blind (just like if I had Lightborn, which I did not), and the survivors stays on my shoulder.

I know their timing wasn't wrong, plus it was not even the question : the borders of my screen showed I was in range to be blinded, but it just... didn't happen.

I've also had people somehow miss blinding me at a pallet, same visual : borders of my screen going slightly yellow, but no red screen, and no blind.

The two times I can think of, I was playing Clown and Legion.

    This is exactly my experience.

Can confirm it's not working against Doctor, Ghostface or Trapper either.

    Yeah, something is badly broken.

temporary bans dont show up on steam. stop spreading lies.

i swear to god all the users on this message board just lie and exaggerate and i'm SICK OF IT.

Yes, temp bans absolutely do show up on steam, so long as it's a cheating ban.

If it's a specific game community/rules ban, those don't show up.

    Also, you need to stop.

  • @yauniqua said:

    hey yall

    it's ya girl, Neeq Neeq.

i heard online that a new survivor meta is boil over and breakdown.

baysicklee, survivors are sick and tired of all the cookie gen popping perks and these 2 perks help combat that.

    is it true?

    ...

Okay firstly - that needs to stop.

Secondly, not really meta, just a horrible abomination that needs to be fixed ASAP, as this can be used to basically take matches hostage.

  • @Mat_Sella said:

so you have 5 hooks at 5 gens but basekit unbreakable is an issue?

Make a bug report, not a complaint against a feature that needs to exist

These unhookable spots have existed since the game's inception. They still exist now. They've been reported probably literally thousands of times - so if they were an easy fix, they'd already be sorted.

Thing is - as long as these spots exist, you cannot have baseline UB. And if they can't be fixed, then you...just can't ever have it. Because that would allow anyone who knows these spots to just take games hostage at will.

    It's sad, but true.

I wish I could play them without someone cable pulling, going AFK or suiciding on the first hook.

T&L walls if that’s what you’re referring to can be difficult if there is no outside objects for bump logic. Sometimes you just have to play it normal M1.

Many of the shacks have slippery walls, so you can bump either doorframe to bait the window, and then rush along the wall to meet them there. It works about 80% of the time if they fall for it. Or if you’re comfortable bumping through doorways, you can either slide to the window if they vault, or commit inside of shack and get the hit either way.

TL, Shack, whatever you call those nightmares with 2 vaults...yeah, I sort of just need to play him as an M1. And that's sort of balls.

that kind of ignores the whole point of my comment though lol

you can just sit there and emote or walk around and not get AFK crows, the point was that if you aren't contributing to the game whatsoever, even though you aren't literally AFK, you may as well be, and this reveals you for that.

That's what I meant by 'fix the exploit'.

If there's shenanigans that allow you to avoid AFK crows, those need to be fixed.

  • @LordSturm said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3331069#Comment_3331069

honestly yeah, if you don't do anything (gens, heals, totems, chests, chase, etc.) for like 5+ minutes it should start building up a status effect (so you have a warning if you're a new player) in the last ~30 seconds and once it's built up your aura is revealed until you're injured

    Honestly, even simpler.

    • Fix the exploit.
    • If you get 3 AFK crows, it's treated as 'leaving the match' and you're DC'd, with penalty.
  • @Riski said:

I'd say still below average but in a healthy spot similar to killers like wraith a doctor, he can perform well without too much struggle or luck but does need a bit. His ability to surprise survivors on gens at range now is very good and demands a fast reaction time, using his powers around loops is unpredictable now and more regression when damaging a gen is nice. I feel like the level 1 style of the knight of step 1) place guard stationary at tile, step 2) survivor holds w and step 3) repeat hasn't really changed but the more advanced options are more viable and easier to pull off making him feel a lot better to play and perform better against smarter survivors as you can deal with people hold w if you're smart.

Would also like to give a second to praise his addons. Although the greens aren't particularly useful and I'm not massive on the exposed addons the rest feel like they're genuinely well-designed. They're strong and impactful but very few feel generic meaning you actually have to consider which addons you bring with which builds instead of going "well this one had better numbers so I go for this one" like you often see with killers like the Oni or the Wraith. I feel like we've seen this kind of addon design on the dredge and the trapper rework too and I hope we see more of it in the future.

Thing is - I'm not sure his purps are working properly. The Assassin one and the Jailer one to be specific.

The former shows no aura and the latter just seems to give the same speed boost as all summons if you use him at range.

Out of curiosity, do you still think he is clunky and one dimensional? I'm glad you are enjoying slinger more though!

Tbh I think huntresses add-ons are 'boring' too - at least the ones worth using. Ie shiny pin, oak haft, babushka, capacity increases are all QOL stuff and most of her add-ons aren't really that good - ie the exhaustion, undetectable, etc add-ons.

Yes. He's all of these things. He's also clunky, has terrible addons and stuff about his kit makes no sense - reminding me of another killer I enjoy.

There's one thing that makes me play him.

The audio - the snap of the rifle and the little dopamine hit I get when I nail someone running perpendicular to me, through a window from miles away.

...I think I'm on a watchlist of some kind after that last sentence. But he's making me flash back to ye olde Deathmatch shooters, and the timing on his shots feels almost identical to the lightning rifle in UT2004.

Killers aren't going to get avoided. But casuals that play Wesker nonstop will have to pick various killers :)

    ...Wesker?

Wesker is fine. Fair and powerful. Who's salty about Wesker?

I'm more concerned with killers like Legion, Trickster, Trapper, Hag and Bubba.

  • @Shroompy said:

So something unintended is the reason why something shouldnt be added..?

    right..

I'm saying that *until this is fixed* we cannot have an anti slugging mechanic because they only way to stop people taking matches hostage with this nonsense is to slug them.

Like...yeah. Fix this stuff, fix Twins, then some form of anti-slug mechanic: go nuts.

My usual opponents are already pretty annoying without flashlights (I'm only average with her and I get full teams who know exactly how and when to disarm the traps while working each on his gen. I don't need flashlights into the mix.)

Oh yeah, people know how to handle Hag now - but you can still do some tricks. I just poop traps out as I go, and try to never be floating traps.

They go at the tops of staircases, around corners, behind vaults, down pits etc. After a while they get so paranoid that they're spending all their time disarming my traps.

The only folks that give me the fizzy poops are the ones who'll follow you around from the get go, disarming traps and being uncatchable with your slow speed.

I hope you've reported them. I had four idiots like that in a Nurse game, it lasted 45 minutes.

They came equipped for stealth and annoyance (Pebble) on the Saloon map. In the end I've found and killed 3.

Taking the game hostage would grant them a temporary ban.

If you are in Europe, it may even be the same group.

Not going to bother, it's...honestly more work than it's worth, especially after the streamer who started showing folks how to do that 'tech' (see: exploit) basically said 'no, BHVR do not care about this and reporting will do literally nothing'.

I don't think they're a Fog Whisperer, but they know all of them, so...yeah, they'd know.

I did report 'Bec in a Box' but I also doubt that will do anything.

EDIT - Not EU. They built...yeah, Pebble, and then stuff like Calm Spirit, Distortion etc.

Beside the suspected hackers : Wraith or Hag in a four-flashlights lobby. I'm not that much of a masochist.

I'll just bring Franklin's on either. Hag...yeah, that's going to depend on map.

IWOM? Midwich? Autohaven maps? I'll give it a try.

    Ormond?

    image.png

But nah, worst case scenario - I probably lose, or I need to play mean to stand a chance.

The only lobbies I'll dodge are:

    • Legacy cosmetics and a private profile/anon mode/less than 1,000 hours. Nope, you're a hacker.
    • Someone I played against before and they were either very suspicious, very rude or were AFK.
    • Uhhh...

No, that's about it. Like - some matches (4 medkits for example) you know are probably going to be impossible, but it's still just a loss.
