This perk has been nerfed twice already.
It can be easily prevented... You literally have perk like Small Game which literally tells you HOW MANY TOTEMS ARE STILL IN GAME and makes finding them easy... Counterforce is even stronger if you know totem locations or bring a map (One time I cleansed all 10 totems, cause pentimento was in game, last totem took less than five seconds xD). Detective's Hunch is another one.
Survivors have so many options to prevent noed that it is literally pathetic to see people complain about it.
If prolonging game by 20 seconds is too big investement for you... then you deserve to be hit by this trash perk.
-
Hit validation and then 'fix to dead hard' were the worst things that happened to this game. Yes okay, maps used to be way easier for survivors... but when map sucks, the map sucks. Hearing survivor screaming, but not going down is the most frustrating thing.
-
I am mostly fine with Nemesis. I do like to play against and as him. He requires a bit of game knowedgle and experience (seriously, some tentacle smacks other people do and I am simply not good enough to do myself are crazy).
The only thing I would like to see is HIM WORKING AS INTENDED. Very, very often tentacle connects with a pallet, but game does not register it as such and you just waste time... Zombies are zombies, they are supposed to be random and funny. Just fix the breaking stuff issue and I think he is fine.
PS: Also actually making the 'on infection hindered' last longer would make sense. It's not on all tentacle hits, just on the one that actually infects. Right now it literally does nothing... it just takes space in the code and occupies useless addon. Most of you didn't even know that survivor gets slightly slowed down for fraction of a second when infected - I am fairly sure of it. Make it last full second and double it with addon.
-
What even is this question? To think that devs actually take such opinion into account is both scary and also explains a lot!
-
@Valik I'm sorry, but how is this broken, but Exponential or Ubreakable not?
-
Yes, but is rarer than you think.
-
I would say that survivors need a brain.
Kindred, gens, every killer genrushed in 4 minutes.
Just pull head out of your ass and use stuff you already have.
Edit: Why there even needs to be anti-tunnel perks btw? Give killers more anti gen perks then, blocking all generators for 3402582497 seconds, because getting genrushed is not fun either.
-
@Lekitzul Yeah right? I so feel you, man!
@Pet_The_Lizards I actually disagree with you on this. Glyphs are exciting, because they are rare (at least for me). If you had them in every trial, they would become yet another thing you may, but will most likely not do.
Adding them as daily ritual or simply giving more challanges with glyphs keeps them rare and limited, but still more common than now. This is at least how I feel about it :P.
-
@Prex91 Noed was already nerfed twice. If survivors are too busy genrushing or abusing boons I don't feel sorry for anyone who fell to this trash of a perk slot. We are going off tracks of the thread though
-
@MilManson How is this reward? Right now survivors are actually getting punished for being the person who never got hooked untill now. Everybody had their kobe chance, except for them
-
If BT was to be basekit, the equivalent should be either noed or make your choice.
Noed so survivors must do the secondary objective, or myc to reward killer who actually play agressively and dynamically.
Forced Penance? You sir, are a joke.
-
@MrPenguin The whole idea behind Scourge Hook perks is having 4 hooks that are stronger than the others, if you just make them bounce to the other hook once inactive or destroyed you might aswell do this a simple 'on hook' perks - which would made Pain Resonance absolutely broken.
-
It's not the weak killers - most of the roster was almost useless for majority of time.
It's all the little mechanic problems which are stacking up one onto another:
Hitboxes, autoaim, poor map rng, grab cancelation or hit validation. None of these issues are super bad to make the experience miserable, but they all stack up.
Survivor can completely miss pallet stun save while injured, but game can decide to ressurect them, allow them to drop a pallet to stun the killer. They both escape for free while killer should have two people incapacitated.
Autoaim was denying hits since for ever, but together with grabs not working as intended (seriosly, even from survivor's point view it does look like bs) situation like this one are possible: Survivor is unhooking another. Grab animation started, but it was cancelled. Since grab was cancelled it was turned into normal m1 hit. Autoaim decided to hit unhooked survivor instead of unhooking one (even though the unhooker was between the killer and other survivor) so none of them take damage or even BT hit due to hook invulnerability.
Maps can literally spawn 5 jungle gyms or tiles connected to each other (including shack window).
Not to mention underserved killer nerfs like DeathSlinger (Seriously, he is a joke of a killer right now) or Hillbilly...
If you play killer unironically now, you are clown. I prefer keys being broken over hit validation bs.
-
Then go play a killer and experience hit validation :).
More seriously though, mmr is ######### and we all see that rank system worked much, much better.
-
No.
-
@dugman Because your proposition does not resurrect hooks used in sacrifice and thus is useless
Also longer unhooking time is actually a new mechanic and it would fit Scourge Hooks well as the scarier hooks to get hooked on - way more grabs if survivor is too cocky.
-
@Dionysus42 Explain shard giveaways then :)
-
Depends, but mostly yes. I am the kind of player who doesn't cry about noed and simply brings map with counterforce or dead hard if others want to use boons.
-
@CowabungaDude If you think that Prove thyself, Resilience or Spine Chill are not strong perks then I don't think we have much to talk about xD.
My argument still stands, survivors do have perks to speed up their objective, while killers don't, no matter if you think they are strong or not.
-
@Leonardo1ita You could paste them here in that case...
-
@CowabungaDude Excuse me? Proove Thyself? Resilience? Spine Chill? Fast Track? Stake out? Toolboxes?
-
@Awkward_Fiend How would you describe Proove Thyself or Fast Track then?
-
If they don't use it, it's their choice. Throw the aura reading addon and maybe the duration and orange bottles are broken as #########, not to mention the budget agitation and other little tricks you can do at loops.
-
Plunderer's Instinct or Appraisal... or both.
-
They literally changed it so you have perk slots avaiable very soon... Lvl 15 takes like 5 games, stop crying.
-
Trickster is one of easier killers to genrush. One of very few who is slow and has literally zero map presence or slowdown.
He is terrible.
-
It is very strong and I'm surprised people notice it just now.
Does it need a nerf though? Propably not.
-
Flashbangs? This way Lightborn would be literally useless.
It's good how it is, the only change I would add is the beam still getting thinner even without actually getting the blind.
-
Boon mechanics are broken.
Killer perks per trial: 4
Survivor perks per trial: 16
Killer hex: One time use, when broken it's gone for ever
Survivor boon: Infinite amount of uses, 1 perk slot benefits the whole team
If this doesn't scream survivor sided game, I don't know what will.
-
@Leonardo1ita Got a proposition for change?
-
I woul love this, because it separates trash survivors from good ones.
Back in a day you could see who wastes time looking for the totem or just tries working through it.
-
@Leonardo1ita Kindred
-
@CowabungaDude @FFirebrandd So survivors having perks to increase the speed of finishing their objective (repairing generators - literally the least fun and interactive activity in game) is fine, but Killer having one perk like this is not?
Is there actual reason for it or just double standards? I'm not attacking, just want to know where you are coming from.
-
@Leonardo1ita Personally I find the other two boon effects much more game impactful, but these are just playstyle preferences I guess.
As I see it boon perks are fine, the boon mechanics are broken
-
@CowabungaDude Why?
-
Yeah this perk is way too limiting right now.
It literally can activate and waste it's time during the Entity spawn animation (The progression timer stops for the duration of it, but perk's time is still wasted).
It needs other survivor to come and activate it... if they do they will most likely farm you anyway. It needs some kind of signal that it is in fact in play or just straight up prolong the struggle phase by x amount... maybe pausing the timer as well for as long a survivor is near the hook?
I am very rarely in favour of buffing survivor stuff, but this is really crap perk.
-
So you literally want to reduce killer-survivor interaction to the minimum... in a game where you can either interact with the other side or sit on generator and hold m1...
Just no? This would be the most boring crap I can imagine. Boring for survivors, not for the killer!
-
Why even bothering looking them up?
-
There is not a single killer sided map in the entire game.
Coal Tower and Azarovs are simply balanced, being to closest ones to leaning towards killer, but not really being there just yet.
-
DeathSlinger is ridiculously weak and actually frustrating to play as after his nerf. I went into details about this too many times already, it's up to you, but Oni is actually strong and fun for both sides.
-
Myers needs rework, not skins
-
I would rather facecamp the person who burnt the offering or just give up as survivor. I don't dc, because I personally despise people who dc, because they don't like the map or got mindgamed, but on those two maps I am really tempted.
-
Nurse is the most broken killer, literally ignoring 90% of game mechanics, but she still has the lowest win rate.
Fair and balanced? No.
In need of nerf? Also no, as there are maybe 10 players who can actually play her correctly, most of the times a simple mindgame does the trick. She is also fun to play against, actually keeping survivors on their toes, which can't be said against the rest of the killers.
-
@Marigoria Well this explains a lot :).
-
WoO will save your ass more often and will buy your team more time in general (all the time you would spend running to already broken or not even spawned pallet or window that spawned blocked - basically a hit or down for a killer which this perk will prevent multiple times per trial). Information perks are ridiculously strong.
DS does not help in most of the cases anyway and is pretty much useless when people play smart - simply not unhooking in the killer's face.
-
@Kaitsja Tunneling is hard countered by DS, because it gives enough time for three other people to escape basically for free if they actually try. Killer throws a game if they tunnel, eat ds and keep chasing (You still can run and go loop some tiles after stabbing the killer, you know?).
It is a 4vs1 game, not 1vs1 so stop looking at it like it was 1vs1.
Your change to Guardian is also bad, because it was already a thing and what it basically did was hiding the unhooked survivor so they could stealth a bit while also telling the killer that it did so (aura reading of unhooking)... You can't stealth when game annouces that you stealth. Right now Guardian is better than BT, but people refuse to use it for some reason.
-
I don't blame any killer who does this now that hit validation is a thing.
-
Or just... run Kindred and DS... and completely counter it...
-
Lightborn would be good, if the beam of flashlight was still getting thinner with it on. Survivor who sees the beam not chaning will simply not try ever again and will just rush gens. Damn, even if it did get thinner the smarter ones would look for score events if they got blind or not.
It does help and can bait out single rescues by looking in the open, but I prefer to have Bloodwarden if I was to pick 'backup perks'.
-
@cantelope Couldn't have phrased it better myself.
