I really don't understand killers sometimes they complain about second chance perks then when a survivor complains about tunnling they tell you to use second chance perks.
Because thats what they are used for. Thats whats good about them. The problem.we have is that victims use ds and other second chance perks as invincibility to do dumb stuff, unhook in a killlers face, do a gen in killers face, jump straight into a locker. Its the abuses we dont like, not the perk. We want limitations because victims are using the perk way beyond its intended purpose

You are a really bad killer if you rely on it. It's about as simple as that. I put on NOED when im playing wasted or something, because that's the only time I go into games expecting to lose.
It's especially bad with Mori's, because you can take a horrible chase, get run for 3-4 gens to get your mori off, and then still get another 2 kills purely off the back of a skilless perk.
There's a reason killers like Otzdarva and Tru3talent think its ######### and a crutch.
"Better do all 5 totems against that Ebony Mori Spirit who killed someone with 4 gens left to go". Lmao, yeah right.
Its a catch all the victims use to make the killers feel bad for using it. Git gud
-
I am reading a lot of these comments and... It seems to play a "fun" killer you basically have to let the survivors win??? Unhook for free? No camping tunneling i get but, let everyone go out cause u can 0k pip? No moris cause they are mean and bad? Literally let survivors pallet stun and win chases..... So to play a "fun" killer you have to basically sit there and do nothing while survivors win? Im confused cause thats what its looking like, if thats the main view point then i kinda dont wanna play killer anymore :/

Is that why most killers run it? It's one thing if someone uses a perk to make their game easier... It's another if EVERYONE is using it to make their game easier. Can it be countered? Yes, is it hard to counter it when your playing with random survivors? Absolutely because you can't do gens, save off hook, open doors and bust up totems all at once. I myself have never used Noed except here and there and still to this day never used a Hex perk and made it to red ranks with all sorts of killers being strong and outsmarting at loops... It's a crutch perk is what it is... A perk people rely too heavily on like Ruin to stack up a 4k because they feel entitled to it.
You want to claim your a good killer? I think people should start playing without any hex perks at all and playing more of other killers besides Myers, Billy, Bubba and Doctor. You can 4k without any of those killers around red to purple rank and have no hex perks at all (not to mention I've never ran BBQ because my bubba never got past level 10 on PC or Xbox) then we can start talking about "good killers" and what not. But as it stands, anyone that is survivor rank 10 and up playing randomly is not going to have a fun and "fair" game with killers who try to constantly find ways to instantly down and find people.
Killers can't be expected to chase survivors, break pallets, break gens, hook survivors x4 because there are 4 survivors. You wanna complain that solos cant cleanse because of poor teammates but maybe its your teammates fault for being bad and not the killers fault for running a lategame perk.
P.S never claimed i was a good killer, just that maybe survivors should be expected to be better than me than to have an easy win because you are mad cause NOED is so mean uwu

the excuse "rank means nothing" is so so so weak. if rank means nothing why does it take players months to break to green ranks? why isnt everyone rank 1 killer and survivor? rank does show knowledge and experience, it might not mean they play every match flawlessly but if you're 8 ranks above them, it's safe to say they're most likely better than you.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1211363#Comment_1211363
i do this all the time. you can CLEARLY tell when a survivor is going to be a red rank, based on how they loop and read your mindgames and respects, they trust themselves to greed, know how to run every tile and hit consistent flash saves even when im looking at a wall and cant see them. trust me, i can tell.
the only game i've gone against people my rank in the past few months was the 1 game where i caved and went AFK to derank on purpose. i was against people below me, that time.
killer queues are now <30 seconds for me, and they used to be up to 15 minutes. it takes me less than half a minute to find a frustrating match that makes me lose my will to learn and get better every time 4 teabagging flashlight clickers escape, when before i'd see 2 toxic flashlight neas once in a blue moon. my survivor queues are 5 minutes now. what im trying to say is, it's not just me. people arent playing killer as much, more people are bringing moris out of frustration (and im with them there) and survivor queues are suffering for it.
Actually, for survivor, yeah a lot of survivors ARE rank one but not always deserved. Its easier to pip as a survivor than a killer. So you do get rank 1s who dont know. Whag they are doing. Meanwhile some people who should be way higher just dont play as mucj so stay in lower ranks

The situation of the spirit is that she takes time to master because her tracking is all audio cues, perks and mind gaming. She cant see survivors when invisible making her have to try harder to mindgame than other killers. The problem is survivoors think that any killer with an ability they cant counter by walking in a straight line is unfair and broken. Not all survivors, just the loud ones you see in chats on on the forums

I am so happy to see that others agree noed isnt a bad perk.

You could just run a 4th perk that works ALL game, though. It also doesn't counter my points about the perk being badly designed.
Also, as someone who regularly does 2-4 bones and still gets taken out by the perk, not to mention just versed it FIVE TIMES IN A ROW, 4 of which had an Ebony Mori, I think that maybe I do get to say that the perk is dumb and needs a change.
Mkay, nothing in gonna say here is gonna change your mind so might as well.

Wink all you want, he’s right everyone knows the bad players rely on NOED. That’s why people that use it are judged so harshly.
I wont lie and say that bad players DONT rely on NOED. Because they do. But that doesnt mean that the whole design is bad. The fact is it has a place amd it has a strong place. End game matters too not just the early game.

No. It is fundamentally a bad perk.
Rewards bad play from both sides, and gives the most powerful status effect for zero effort and ZERO WARNING.
It is one of two effects that does not give an instant notification of the Exposed condition, the other being Devour Hope. One of these you have to work for.
Also, do FIVE totems to stop a Hex perk versus one.
Not quite, it rewards the killer for the survivors playing poorly not cleansing totems, it can be stopped easy. Unlike other hex perks it can be stopped from even activating meaning the killer is playing the game with 3 perks instead of 4. This is what you would call a "end game build" perk. The point of the perk is to create a secondary objective for survivors to aid in the gen rush. What happens however, is killers are called bad for using it and getting kills with it when the survivors walked past the totems 20 times in a match. It doesnt take long to break a totem and the killer isnt even notified of dull totems.

Literally though. I think the game is much more balanced whenever I play solo survivor, because in my opinion you have to play much smarter, keeping an eye on what your teammates are doing, guess if someone is going for a save, etc. But in a swf, that fun of being in a new game with no clue on how everybody plays is taken away from me and I just get super bored and don't take the game seriously. I try to be nice to killers unless I get tilted, because I know it's super hard for them on console sometimes
The game was originally balanced around solo survivor, i agree solos are in a bad spot now but its because swf is unhealthy for the game. INB4 (YoU cAnT gEt RiD oF SWF) I know this, swf is a needed evil but frankly if you are playing swf then it SHOULD be harder, you SHOULD have slower gen repair speeds because of the bonuses you get from it. At the end of the day, if swf is just there to play with their friends they will still do that and if they are going to be a sweatfest and intentionally destroy a killer, then they should be given a fair challenge for it

Imma have to disagree with you there. If the game was balanced around what you just said, you'll be screwed as a survivor if you are found because you will never win chases. That would render survivor unplayable since your own skill wont be able to save you at all due to getting bloodlusted and a mechanic that is just made so survivors never win chases. Besides, if you're the killer and you've chased someone for 2+ minutes, you've thrown several gens and possibly the game because you couldn't keep your tunnel vision in check.
A big issue for gameplay comes doen to the killer shouldnt be penalized for chasing, because thats the main interaction between survivors and killers. Problem is is that while a survivor only has to worry about being hooked, the killer has to worry about 3 other survivors. It punishes the killer for interacting with survivors for too long
-
Question, from a newish killer here. People keep saying godloops are fine because killers should just "drop the chase" which i try to do. But what do i do when the survivors wont try and do the gens. I had a game.not too long ago where the survivors, every time they heard my terror radius, sprinted for the loop. Yeah i kicked the gen but that went on for like 20 minutes. If i left to chase them the gen got swarmed, if i covered gens then they just sat near the loop. Just wondering what im supposed to do when that happens?
-
I feel like killers should have a "surrender" option but dcing isnt the answer, all you are doing is wasting everyones time

Check the maps yourself.
I think its negativity bias. Upset at the reduction of godloops so you are seeing stuff that isnt there. That or bad survivors spammed pallets and you didnt know about it
-
If you are in an SWF group, all that needs to happen is your microphone is FORCED on for ingame chat, if you are a solo you get a push to talk function. Killers can hear you talking within X Meters (32 minimum, i personally think 40)
-
A lot of what im reading is victim bias, we see it happen ALOT in other media and it shows here too. Its easier to bully killers and tell them how awful they are for running cheap perks, builds, killers etc... And the hatred from survivors flows hard for killer mains. Its because survivors see themselves as victims not players or survivors.
"The killer attacked me and tunneled me out of the game hes PLAYING UNFAIR NERF HIM"
Yeah some killers definitely try to hop on the woe is me train, but everyone backs up the survivor mains (including the devs) because they have carefully set themselves up to not be viewed as a toxic player that they likely are, but as a victim that the killer is abusing even though 9/10 you are looking at surviviors bsing in post game chat. Teabagging constantly, spamming items.
Survivor mains, if you want fair games killers are more than happy to oblige, but once you start being rude and try to blame the killers for your poor gameplay then deal with it. Its like others said before me in this thread. Survivors got babied for so long they the devs are trying to fix some og the most broken problems, and we seeing the survivors entitlement show.

Nobody is complaining about fixes to the infinite loops. We're complaining about the increase in dead-zones accompanied by the reduction in map size.
Devs have said theres no increase in dead zones.
Other survivors are probably throwing pallets down constantly then they get broken

Yeah, after all why try to leave if you are at -50% movespeed anywat, then facecamping can be a.legit strat. Just give gen speed penalty with the killer soeed penalty and bam, new facecamp.meta op wants
-
@ZarosNozara said:
Maybe something like, if the killer remains within terror radius of a survivor on hook for more than 5 seconds he loses 50% speed for x amount of time.
Before you say it's not fair, we all know camping is incredibly toxic, and survivors get birds fly over their heads if they camp too long. So why should survivors get penalized for camping, but not killers?
50% speed after 5 seconds, so you want facecamping games only then?
Edit: What constitutes camping? From what im reading its literally referring to killers who dont ignore survivors and sprint away from the hook asap. Whenever im killer i do a quick nearby check before leaving, does that mean i camped because i spent a few seconds checking for a hook runner.
So many edits. That last question is for everyone not just the quoted

What a totally naive comment. What rank are you?
A smart killer is not going to fall for that, further more, in trying to imagine a scenario where your idea would even play out, I could only see it happening on low rank games, a rank 1- 10 killer would have far to much situational awareness to get caught on a stupid chase in a dead zone for no reason.
😴
Low rank but considering what you just said a deadzone is a good place to escape cause killers will break chase
-
Im low rank killer and i usually wait 5+ minutes but thats all
-
@Chatkovski said:
I agree.
- Killers lose 2 addons per game.
- If we consider that the survivors have a 1/2 probability of escaping, they lose on average 2.5 items/addons.
The fact that survivors can obtain items in play is not an acceptable compensation. There are only three chests, and it's totally random. If we compare to killers, this is equivalent to their powers. The killers choose the killer they will play. For me, this compensates for the depletion of the items.
And to make the situation a little worse, I remind you that if the survivors ignore the killer they will be playing against, the killer always sees the items brought by the survivors into the lobby.
I fully accept that the addons are always consumed, for everyone. But I want free items, in one rarity.
- this guarantees that survivors always start a game with at least one item.
- survivors will no longer have to hesitate to use a rarer item, afraid of losing it.
- this frees up space in the bloodwebs in favor of addons.
Thats horrendously overpowered considering what items can do. Survivor pink addons (excluding iri heads, dont play huntress but whatever) tend to do more for the survivors than they di for killers. Insta heals, massive gen repairs. Killers powers can be utilized to help get kills but NO killer power instadowns a survivor simply by clicking the button. NO killer power undoes a generator like how a survivor addon simply undoes a killer hit. It just does not happen. All survivors really need is a alight bp bump and it will be fine. Not to have free powers at the start of the game for no reason
-
I have an idea, how about survivors dont run towards dead zones, or plan escapes? Hell consider dragging the killer to a deadzone so he has to waste time on you rather than whine because you cant pallet stun flashlight stun the killer every 5 seconds.
-
@ClickyClicky said:

god loops took no skill to use and were too strong in game. Hence they finally got nerfed.
Camping/tunneling is the same. It takes no skill and often works quite well against non-swf or any team that isnt full of top class survivors. Such a lame and low effort playstyle should not be having the results that it does. By making it less effective you encourage killers to put in more effort.
Except that camping does have downsides, it forces us onto one person for an excessive amount of time. If i solely focused one person above everyone else then i deserve the 2-4 gens the survivors get. But if i hook someone, start to leave and theres already someone trying to sneak past me, youd better believe that hooked person is gonna be bait as i sit there and wait for you all to come to me.

There are times when the need to complain outweighs the need to have something legitimate worth complaining about.
More seriously, my immediate thought to "Why is nothing done about bloodlust??" is "Why should something be done without bloodlust?" Has it been causing issues in the PTB with the smaller maps? Has it been doing something it hasn't been doing before? Has it been getting abused by killers in ways not intended?
Yeah fair enough, typically i use it as a benchmark that ive chased for WAY too long. If om getting bloodlust then i need to try and find someone else. Maybe im breaking it off too fast but, as it is id the survivors are good i cant pressure gens fast enough

This entirely, im a low rank killer, i dont olay that much but its fun. But holy cow some of these potatoes i come across. Survivors that try to 360 me but instead just spin in a corner as i slowly waddle my way over. People sitting in lockers for 30 seconds+ and then flaming endgame chat saying i camped them when crows alert me to them. When i play against average players, i start to get served because i force 3 ppl off a gen, hit one then a gen pops, i hook someone, POP POP Two more gens done.

1 second chance perk? Killers have a lot more than 1 second chance perk. NOED? Rancor? Devour Hope? Haunted Ground? Blood Warden? Iron Maiden? Make your Choice? Tombstone Myers? Iri Head Huntress? Ebony Mori's? Not to mention killers have the ability to face camp?
@Ivaldi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1193610#Comment_1193610
Are you that incompetent to realize how any of these are considered 2nd chance? Doesnt have to be a perk.. Any perk or addon that provides an insta down is a 2nd chance as it gives a severe handicap against the survivors. The killer couldn't down them without it and it saves them ample time in a match. Rancor/Tombstone are again a second chance ability that allow a killer to insta-kill a survivor without even needing to hook them. And do we even have to talk about Mori's? Ebony Mori's allow a killer another 2nd chance handicap that easily allows them to by pass 2nd and 3rd hooks on a survivor, saving a game for them.
Ok, cant believe imma have to be rude but, I am so hoping that this is just a bait. Its a scary thought that this could theoretically be how some survivors feel about the game. If its a bait then gj you got me but if it isnt..... Honestly, you need to find a different game or wait until the devs release killer bots because clearly you are just incompetent and rather than getting better youd prefer to scream how its unfair for killers to run anything.....

Bloodlust became a complaint around the time hawkin's was released. There is like 1 safe pallet in the entire map. Every single pallet is pretty much a guaranteed hit cause the loops are so short that a simple double back or a fake will lead to a hit, and it doesn't leave enough distance between killer and survivor.
Bloodlust is supposed to help against extremely safe pallets or God loops. There is no need if every pallet is will be like Hawkins pallets (remember they said they are working on changing the pallet economy on all maps to get more unsafe loops but fewer long/safe loops), or if God loops are going to be removed..
Thanks, didnt realise it became a thing like that. I never really depended on it it just sorta happened so i guess i didnt notice

Listen, if a killer chases a survivor and they start to use the "God loops", then that's on the killer. They should go find an easier target. Just because things don't go your way as a killer, it should be taken away. Why don't the devs just make a wide open space map and let you killers slug everybody so you can stop whining and shut up. The game offers environments that are taken advantage of by both survivor and killer and in the games I play, I win and I lose. If you're constantly losing as killer, either get better or play survivor. Enough of the whining because you can't adjust to make your skill better.
Yeah but ALL survivors rub to "god loops" because theres no counterplay to them. Its the equivalent of a killer tunnelling one person the whole game except the survivors get rewarded with easy gens, instead of killers getting just 1 kill for tunnelling one person.
BTW: I DO NOT LIKE TUNNELLING BUT THIS IS THE COMPARISON

He's very buggy, that's the main problem. Yesterday, I couldn't reveal one that was straight in the open 5m from me. I didn't even start to get the sound cue. Also, I'm not very in favor of stealth killers. Survivors' stealth has been nerfed to the ground to encourage interaction, which I agree with. On the killer side, this should be mirrored. Easily sneaking up on someone is a unilateral interaction, the antithesis of the direction the game should go in. The perfect stealth-ish killer for DbD is Micheal, imho (add-ons and M&A aside).
I would agree except that players have rotational vision, when working on a gen you can swivel the cam behind you and look. Wraith has distortion in his invisibility and pig can crouch for undetectable but still can be seen. The only killer that has true invisibility (I think, not 100%) is Freddy and he has a giant lullaby that plays when he is close, still best stealth tho i think

Probably would have been a 3-4k had they gotten to use the NOED.
So I disagree, pretty much all you have to do as killer is stand in front of the hook with a 1 shot and you are guaranteed 2-3 kills if you combine it with NOED and literally every survivor isn't running BT/DS.
Um, no offense but it sounds like the survivors did great then went full stupid at the end. Thas nit a boosted killer, thats several boosted survivors stealing defeat from the jaws of victory

Survivors, specially the ones playing solo, also struggle without meta perk perks, have you tried solo perkless at high ranks? One tunneling killer and the match basically over for you, and I dont even run DS, i consider it to be bullshit, but sometimes I wish I had it equipped.
I have personally been doing just about fine with No mans switch + Nemesis + PWYF on my rank 1 level 12 deathslinger, saying that you are helpless without meta perks is exagerating. Map sizes and corn as always is what ######### me up most of the times.
Its just that I feel that you people complain because you outright refuse to get better at the game.
Ill say it's a bit of both ways, though i didnt say helpless without meta perks, just that we cant experiment to the extent that survivors can. As far as refusing to get better, again i feel maybe both ways. Tunnelling and camping are more a result of the constant worries about ds bt and the sort. Just like how the rage over NOED comes because noone wants ti break dull totems
