The problem I usually see is in the ideas themselves. Where the usual idea (DS for example) involves making it stop working when you go in lockers or get healed up. Compare that to "camping" where survivor ideas have ranged from, block a 5-10m area around the hook, to give the killer -50% move speed. Not saying all ideas are like this but a good number are. Plus (and this kinda goes both ways but i usually see survivors do it more) i see people get far more rude with killers than survivors. Yeah killers may call surv main too fast but survivors love to scream out how terrible a killer is in their mind and how they are scum and awful and should kill themselves. Look at the survivor NOED posts and you will see it a lot. Not excusing it when killers say or do bad stuff but to say its all killers is a bit wrong.

I think you forgot doctor
Knew i forgot ppl.
Also as far as clown and wraith were concerned, i brought them up cause usually the issue is more how they look doing stuff than themselves
-
I have a great idea, how about we give survivors weapons to down the killer as well, after all is isnt fair that they can hit me and I cant hit back q_q
-
I say shes like, A tier killer. Id probably give her S tier if she wasnt so buggy derping into basement or getting stuck on pebbles, but the amount of skill required to play her at low ranks is way higher than it should be in my opinion. Not that she should be easy but the way she is now is just a bit out of whack and on a completely different difficulty curve from any other killer currently.
-
For the most part i see way more survivors that lose their minds in the chat ( and forums) than killers. Not saying its 100%/0% but id say maybe 75%/25% which is about expected with 4 times as many survivors. Its not good but this id just my guesstimate based on games i play.
-
Wow. Usually i try to look at both sides but. It seems the higher the rank of survivor the worse they act. I hope the devs see this, their survivors saying its ok to DC if the killer is mean, hooks you first. The sheer anger their survivor community has for its killer playerbase is ridiculous

Nope. I propose an Instant Option to every survivor like who wants to play millionaire. Are you slugging someone ? A message is shown to every Survivor on their screen:
- Do you want slugging ? Yes or No.
If every survivor press NO survivor on the ground is safe and he can get up from the ground... and Killer cannot slug anymore in game..
That's a great idea and i propose for every SWF tired of slugging!
Love the joke man xD
In all seriousness though, slugging is one of the few ways killers can apply pressure. Its the main argument for why ds isnt busted, just slug. If killers werent allowed to slug, then i dont think survivors should be able to heal :) thats a fair tradeoff 😈

I don't believe thats very health for the game i simply believe in terms of balance the death animation timer is more suited as its the normal amount of time it takes someone to die on hook i believe that gives the killer a decent amount of time to find hatch or get lucky and find the survivor.
To be fair i said easy solution not necessarily a good one lol. That all is very true and a great idea though 👍
-
Easy solution. If 3rd survivor dcs, bloodwarden goes into affect and hatch is locked for 90 seconds

A) Survivors get out via the hatch the majority of the time it becomes an issue. It's why every other thread for a while was deriding "sweaty killers slugging for the 4k". Also, doors are RNG. I've had them spawn so far apart that it was 100% a free escape for the survivor, literally impossible to get from one to the other in a straight line fast enough. Besides, even if it's 50/50, how is that bad? The team failed in every way.
B) That's the definition of "free". The team failed, but you still get a chance at a win.
C) That's how team games work. You live and die with the team, generally. You're not entitled to something extra because you think your team sucked.
Also, D) The hatch is a classic example of the survivor-centric thinking of the game. Survivors were behaving poorly, holding games hostage, refusing to do objectives. So what do the devs do? Make the offenders easier to find somehow? Punish them with a timer earlier? No, they give them a chance at a free win in the hopes that hurting the killer that way would be enough to satisfy them so that they'd stop trying to harm them another way.
Seriously, survivors complaining about the hatch are startlingly oblivious or entitled. It's literally only there to give them something good enough for free in the hopes of getting them to stop throwing temper tantrums.
This ^

Hey, don't lump us all together. I don't BM and don't insult people in the post-game chat. In fact, I regularly tell toxic players to STFU in the chat.
Very true, there are good people out there, and they deserve the respect to go with it 👍

All ive learned from this thread is survivors deserve to be camped and tunneled because you all are just rude as hell.

For them to look into changing how killers get killer adept. Getting merciless killer requires so much luck and less skill
Ooooohhh like the end game screen thing? Ok cool i didnt even know that was a thing
-
@Bullettimegod said:
As the the title said, it's time to do something about it. I'm not saying its too hard. I'm saying its way more luck based than you think.
What I mean by luck based is you have to be lucky that a survivor doesn't dc. Can do a bit of gens. Doesnt die on first hook. Doesnt have a key, and doesnt escape via hatch. Now i know it sounds like i want it handed to me, but thats not the case. What i want, is for it to be balanced as the survivor one is. I'm not trying to turn this into a us vs. Them but lets face it. Survivor adept is a lot more easy vs a killer adept.
Also lets face it. Its a bit of a problem when the advice of getting a killer adept is "derank"
Im confused, what are you asking? Not trying to be rude, im tired and not gettin it.
-
I nod when i let a survivor farm or something. Somethin to let them know "Hey i get it"

If they did I'd laugh lol seems like people take the opportunity to complain about pretty much everything. The idea behind this perk was to give the 1v1 where the better person gets what they deserve. Either the killer gets the kill or the survivor loops him for 1 min and gets back to the hatch.
Dont get me wrong, i love the perk and itd be fun to run. Im just seeing trolls 😋

This was my idea for it.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/442/sketch-1581253122676.png
It all depends on how confident the killer is. Noed is a perk that doesn't become active till end game yet people take the perk because they know they either don't need all 4 perks during the game or it's their second chance perk.
My version is for killers who are confident they won't make it to end game.
That perk is awesome but i have a feeling itd be treated as a new NOED killers would be called trash for running it until it gets nerfed or people stop using it

Personally I would like it to spawn. I mean if a killer patrols both gates are hatch becomes the one option. Now unless you’re able to go back and forth on the last generator then that’s great. But in all honesty the hatch becomes my best friend if I find it before the killer.
It seems to spawn out of the way for me(as killer) so i never get an interaction. Somone leaves and game ends
-
Eeehh, i find hatch kinda meh, i wish it didnt spawn if no gens were done or at least wIt to spawn till its down to 1v1. Ultimately i dont really care, it can be there or not

survs get nerfed last year really hard, DEVS took from us good loops and plenty off pallets, toolbox is useless, killers can use lots of perks who slowing down the gens. This is now killer games only. And if u sluged dow and try to crawl somewhere, killer goes that direction, thats why i crawl oposite way
God loops which were literally broken with no way to play around it, pallet numbers stayed the same, toolbox changes actually got buffed because saboing is so much better for a slight change in repair speed, plus you get to keep your items when you survive. You explained crawling for me, if killer goes one way, crawl the other.
-
Slugging is one of the better mechanics for survivors because it lets you crawl away to get help, you you all got slugged at the start of the game then you all had bad luck or were woefully mismatched. I keep hearing how mechanics get "abused" by the killer. I get that it sucks but take the loss and move on.
As for the devs being killer sided. Are you serious? Two patches that attempt to fix issues plaguing killers for YEARS and suddenly the devs have 180d and dont care for survivors anymore..... The survivors have always been in a position to be better than the killer, from the strength of loops to pallets to SWF this game has done nothing but hand hold survivors tot he point that they are throwing fits because the killer is trying to win.
If you want to take away camping and slugging, then survivors need core mechanics adjustments to compensate. No camping and cant slug survivors? Maybe survivors shouldnt be able to run indefinitely, after all, looping is just as much of a mechanic as slugging is.

Haha all these entitled Killers thinking that making the game boring by hovering 10 ft from a hook as viable and fun is truly pathetic. Where is the fun in just standing there like a dog guarding his bone? Killers are supposed to actively engage Survivors and actually GET REWARDED for not camping. You don't have to be a toxic pile of waste to get a 4k. (Play both sides before anyone tries that bs argument btw) Just had a match with a Rank 1 Doc at Lery's where someone popped Haunted Ground right away and he got me, then proceeded to stand right in front of me and shock the ground until I died. What skill!
Killers arent rewarded for not camping, the person gets unhooked and we have to go find them, theres an emblem penalty for camping but why the heck should i leave when i turn around and theres 3 survivors tbagging by pallets because either i stay by the hook and lose emblem points or give them a free unhook.
People love to talk about how bs it is for survivors to get camped but noone wants to talk about the killer who is in a lose-lose situation because (not including insidious bubba) there are no issues with survivors camping yhe hook.
-
The best solution is if you suspect a DS just facecamp them first hook, bam no DS 😈😈😈

Maybe the fact that any non-SWF will get destroyed versus a camping Bubba is evidence enough? Camping killers need to be punished by SLOWING the hooked survivor’s death timer when the killer isn’t in chase. That way camping becomes MUCH LESS viable.
Ready did that, survivors abused the hell out of it. Plus after the first person gets caught by it y keep going into it? Yeah altruism is important but killers have to be able to defend the hook, face camping sucks but punishing killers with longer timers for defending an objective is a terrible idea. Its the same as asking that gens take 50% longer to do per person on gen. Thats dumb right? Same issue if survivors get longer hook timers for being nearby the hook.
INB4 ThEy ArE, tHeY gEt PeNaLtIeS. Not really, gen still goes by faster with 2,3,4 people, even if it has diminishing returns.

I want the OP's definition because like with everything else survivors accuse killers of doing, I've seen many definitions of the term.
I agree, hard to make a call. For instance whenever i play killer i usually check the area around the hook before leaving and i get flamed for that
-
Also known as "protecting the hook" proxy camping is when the killer does not immediately retreat to the furthest corner of a map after he hooked someone 😋
Edit, explaining beetter: More seriously, proxy camping is basically staying within line of sight from the hook. Often it happens when BBQ doesnt go off on anyone and you know there are survivors nearby
-
Id love to play more nurse but every time i play her it feels bad, teleports getting stuck all the time, sometimes for.me.it just doesn't activate, being so slow, I know she's a good killer in the hands of people who can play, but I really dont feel shes fun to olay right now.
I love playing as the plague, but im struggling in mid and higher ranks, especially since DH lets them run through the purge

And don’t get me wrong I’m not saying it’s fair for survivors to unhook a survivor right after they’ve been hooked, I’m saying punish the campers who sit there and let 5 gens go by because they want that kill, literally I could get on play solo and get camped by a leather face reving his chainsaw in my face just waiting for someone to unhook me but then everyone does gens and then leaves because of that
While i agree that sucks, thats more of bubbas bad design than camping itself. I know there are people who can play bubba normally but i sure as hell cant
-
The issues i have with SWF are the fact you cant reasonably buff solos to SWF level without Immediately doing the same for killers. If one gets buffed without the other the game Would slow to a crawl because people (solos or.killers) would leave in droves. Give killer +5% movespeed per person in the SWF And the solo can have some other buff (i dont play solo enough to know what to add) only when working with an swf

Well, it all depends on your point of view, I believe Spirit Fury are second chance perks for killer. I mean, you didn't loop correctly and I got the stun, which means I "win" the loop. But no... it turns out you have a perk that destroys pallets and you actually won the loop.
It's the same concept as, for instance, Dead Hard, which is considered a second chance perk, the survivor lost the loop, but "Press E to survive" and magically he makes it to the pallet when he shouldn't have.
Um, second chance perks allow the player to ignore a mistake that was made, remember me works if the obsession is killed so.i couldnt call that "second chance" Bloodwarden also isnt second chance perk because it doesnt undo a mistake that was made. Decisive strike is a second chance perk because when a survivor gets picked up, they can boop the killer, stun him and get away, that is a "second chance" currently killers have no second chance perks though the closest thing we have is NOED but it can be deactivated.
What a killer second chance perk would do would be like hitting a button and turn a miss that was withing x meters of a survivor into a hit.

Edit :commenting to the post. Spirit fury also requires you to take 2 pallet stuns before it breaks the third pallet amd you still get stunned by the third pallet. I wouldnt really call it second chance since it doesnt undo the stun, just breaks one pallet for you.

I moved to green and now im seeing DS, Adrenaline, unbreakable, BT a lot more. So basically exactly what youve said, im gonna be bringing perks to negate survivor perks more

If you were to read the story (or even the TL;DR version), you'd see I mention I couldn't hook them. I don't like to slug, takes too long and is boring.
Well, im a crappy killer main so i dont know if my opinion matters much but, from what I read? The survivors put themselves in an unwinnable situation but wanted the escape because it was "earned" by you not having any hooks, the flame was hilarious and I hope you keep playin the way you wanna play👍
-
The thing is that the killer is doing his job by defending the generators, they are the killers to prevent from activating. The survivors who arent attempting to do gens are the ones holding the game hostage by actively trying to avoid the objective. Unless of course they are trying and simply getting pushed off, but thats not what OP was talking about.

I do, because even if i down and kill someone everyone fully heals, everyone still has it even if im not getting hit by all 4 at once, my bad i made that unclear. Its just annoying to see the same 4-5 perks on 4 people at once, likely how its annoying for certain survivors to always see NOED and whatever else they run into constantly.

I think the problem is that you're letting all 4 survivors live until all the generators are completed, even though they only have 3 perks available for use. NOED isn't going to prevent this from happening, you should analyze your gameplay and recognize areas where you can perform better and put more pressure on the survivors.
Lemme mention, i do kill 1-2 usually though i try not to rehook people in a row, if i kust downed whoever id do. Etter

10% buff to move speed or 40 seconds added to the gens, plus a non hex noed as basekit. Sometimes you have to camp or tunnel someone out to have a chance.
Im shocked, someone saw that if you removed the ability to camp ENTIRELY, that you might have to adjust gameplay to accomodate, im happy. I know not all will agree with me but, my thought process is if you removed integrated, important mechanics, something would have to go to the killers to counteract the fact

Jareds Unique perks
Slow and steady- you run considerably slower than other survivor survivors but you leave 15-30-45% fewer scratch marks.
Save yourself, I'll distract it!-When performing an Altruistic action within the killers terror radius, Peform the action 10-15-20% faster, you are then slowed for 75-60-45 seconds. During this time you recieve 40% more BP for altruistic actions.
Angry Repair- Wheb landing a great skillcheck increase gen completion and exyra 5-10-15% your normal gen completion time.is reduced by 3-6-9%
Now as a killer i got better ideas but i guess this

Personally I think the game is punishing enough for killers who want to camp the first survivor to death (provided the survivors know what they're doing).
The other 3 survivors can each do 1 gen. Then they can go an unhook the other guy.
If it's not a Leatherface, someone can take a hit and trade hook stages. Otherwise, just leave the Bubba stand there and waste his own time seeing as he won't be getting any points or pips for camping, and do the other 2 gens.
It does suck to be the one unlucky guy on the receiving end of being face-camped, but a good fix to me sounds like what other people have suggested (getting points for other Survivors' actions, guaranteed safety pip if you're face-camped).
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1270206#Comment_1270206
We need to draw a line between what face-camping is and what proxy-camping is. Face-camping is bad, not gonna disagree with anyone about that, but it is severely punishing for the killer to do so with 3 other survivors left. Proxy-camping is a legitimate strategy sometimes and will significantly help the killer pressure the survivors. Make Your Choice even rewards you going straight back to the hook after someone is unhooked, so why should the game punish people for proxy-camping?
Being teleported 32 metres away after hooking a survivor is just, stupid? No one would play killer, they would lose every game. Survivors would follow the killer to hooks and unhook safely every time. Borrowed Time would become useless. Where would you even teleport? A random spot 32 metres away? Don't need RNG in this game thanks (Pig's power is enough).
Just a heads up, didnt suggest something should be done, was using the teleport as a hypothetical scenario. I know its dumb

Define camping. Im r1 killer, I get accused of camping almost every game and rarely am I actually camping. I'm also a r1 survivor and I rarely see actual camping, and usually when I do tgeres an obvious reason for it.
Thats also a big part of this, if camping is facecamping sure but since lots of people claim that defending the hook and just being nearby for too long counts, that matters a lot when considering balance. Is all of a sudden after the hook is the killer teleported 32 meters away? DISCUSSION IS FUN
