Oh you poor thing. You weren't here when survivors had actual infinites, double pallets with really long loops, 2 windows and 2 pallets AT THE SAME JUNGLEGYM, actual instaheals, instablind flashlights that could not be avoided by looking up/down and could even blind from behind or while the killer was moving, 4 man old BPN which could instantly repair a generator, no entity blockers, much slower killer vaults(3.0 seconds), much slower killer pallet break(3.0 seconds), windows that didn't have a door right near them, pallet vaccum and faster pallet drop animation that allowed to get sucked to the other side of the pallet, pallets that stunned at the begging of the animation instead at the end, no stun when dropping down from heights, sprintburst on 20 seconds cooldown that didn't pause or slow down, selfcare as fast as a regular heal, pallets with a minimum distance of 8 meters instead of 20+ metters, 30 pallets per map, structures without holes in them, longer killer pickup animation, really strong map variations like shack, 3/4 jungle gyms near the shack and 2 pallet loops with 2 pallets each.
These things were a walk in the park. It's extremely annoying when new players keep saying how easier the game got now for survivors because they keep imagining survivor buffs, when they were not here in the old days to see how strong survivors actually were. Tell me again how easy the game got for survivors, please.
I was here for all those things lol. But that was a different game. It’s changed so much that you can’t really compare it how it is now. People didn’t have as much experience as they do now that’s why it was the way it was before. The game is constantly evolving. So yes, survivor is still a walk in the park because killers just keep getting nerfed and nerfed.
-
Billy was perfectly balanced. All killers should be on par with billy so they can balance the game. If it’s too hard for survivors than give survivors a buff once all killers are par with billy. But instead they keep nerfing killers with cool downs and even gave billy one. This game is so easy as survivor now it’s going to be a walk in the park.

Are you sure you didn’t get your free 50,000 daily bloodpoints right after your last match. I believe those will pass the limit but I’m not sure about actually blood points earnings.

Damn that sucks. I thought that trapping around the hook would have been a really good strategy to use.
Even generators can’t have a trail around them.

I'm pretty sure that if you place it close to hooks, gens or gates it automatically disappears
I’ve noticed this too. I tested and it turns out it doesn’t matter if you start it or end near the hook, if it’s at all near the hook or gate the trail disappears. This might also go for cages but I haven’t tried that yet. I’m assuming this is intentional to prevent the hooked survivor from landing into a trench and be instantly tormented.
-
It’s been a bug for a while now I’m surprised they haven’t fixed it by now.
-
I put a Lampkin Lane offering on and finished it in one game by looping off the 2nd floor in the houses
-
I can only really see this being useful in a SWF and some planning to make it work. As FYI though the maxed out version of this grants 8 seconds not 4
-
You don’t have to understand it. Everyone is different, some get excited and some don’t.
-
I don’t know dude. Originally the movie would release close to this chapter which would be perfect. Since the movie got pushed back that doesn’t mean it’s not Candyman as the new killer. Devs said they work on 3 killers at once so Candy man could basically be finished being developed by the time the movie got pushed back. The other two killers might be even close to finished so it’s not like they’re just going to not release it.
-
I think 3 or 2

Survivors should be able to see what killer and what addons they're bringing as well.
That’s a horrible idea. They see it’s a stealth killer then they’ll bring all the perks to counter stealth and now stealth killers become the worst killers in the game.
-
I have all the killers maxed out on perks on console.
Forget clown.
Legion can be fun to use because it’s so easy but he’s not a good killer
Oni is much more deadly than anyone you listed. Hillbilly is better, but if you like Onis appearance and tracking ability go for him.
Deathslinger is my favorite killer at the moment because he is fun to use. If you have good aim he can be a good killer. It’s every satisfying hitting long range shots and shots through small gaps to counter loops, but still no map pressure though. If your aim is not at the least decent then do not even try deathslinger unless you have patience and you’re willing to put in the time to get the aim down. Otherwise you’re going to suffer as him and hate the killer. If you do get the aim down then it will start to pay off. Somewhat similar to the nurse, she’s hard to use especially on console but if you put the time in then you can demolish survivors as nurse.
As for perks between Oni and Deathslinger, they both are just okay if not bad. Nemesis on Oni can make for some fun obsession builds. So in my opinion if you want the best killer to easily use then go for Oni. If you want a fun killer and are a decent killer go for deathslinger.
-
Revealing is fine. You need to see a good portion of his body to reveal. If he’s leaning then you need to be at an angle to reveal. Remember you’re canceling out this killer’s ENTIRE power just by looking at him. If you can’t reveal then you’re camera aim is bad and you need more practice. When I go up against ghostface it’s the easiest thing to do. I basically go against ghost face with no power ever. Even if he gets lucky to stalk me there is at least 2-3 pallets to loop to wait out the time of being marked.
Everyone who plays knows what this game is.
Eveytime you start it up you’re well aware that some bugs might show up but that does not grant a free pass to DC. If you don’t want to deal with the bugs just don’t play or report the bugs and wait until they are fixed. Who knows how long they’ll take to fix. Maybe even months or not fixed at all.

It's unrelated to the rank update error. We're working on a new matchmaking and ranking system which should help eliminate matches like this: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/124795
Is the new matchmaking being targeted to release in the next mid chapter patch or does it need more time.
-
In order for that ultra rare addon to work you will need a medkit and an addon. If you don’t have enough of both you can’t use it. Balance reasons.
-
As Claudette I try to be more stealthy and as Kate or Steve I’m more aggressive. But I run the same perks on all 3 so when I say stealthy as Claudette I refer to hiding in bushes or dark corners. When I’m Kate or Steve I know I can’t hide so I go straight for a pallet loop instead of hiding.
-
If you have the perk Shadowborne it will help you a lot. It’s a teachable from the Wraith.
If you have the perk I’m All Ears it will also help to show where survivors go after window vaults. It is a teachable from ghostface.
Increasing your sensitivity is going to help a ton too. I currently have it at 95% There is an addon called the plaid flannel that will show you the location of the blink’s landing spot. Use it if you need to so you can figure out how long you need to blink.
Aiming down will decrease the range of the blink. For example if you aim straight down and charge the blink to the max you will only move 1 foot infront of you regardless of how long you charged the blink. This is good to know if someone sees you charge a blink and instantly starts running back towards you thinking you’re going to blink far ahead of them. However if you are above another floor for example you’re above the basement then you’re just going to move to the basement so make sure there isn’t a floor beneath you when trying this. Try to aim from the center of the screen and above to maximize your blink range.
You can start charging your second blink as soon as your start your first blink animation.
Pallets and windows help you not survivors. When they throw the pallet or vault the window or pallet you can quickly blink through to the other side of the vault and quickly get a free hit.
Its going to take a ton of practice. You will probably get tbagged while you look down in fatigue. The more you play the better you will get. Try not to swing if you know you arnt going to hit because that will add to your fatigue timer. Just take the shorter sun and try to go for a better blink. Swinging and missing so much will give the survivors alot of time to distance themselves from you.
-
Restart the game and it’ll show you your actual rank

Open-Handed and Kindred

A while ago I think Peanits said Freddy, Nurse, Doctor, and Chainsaw Brothers were on their Radar to get reworked or get their addons updated. So far they have knocked out three so I’m only assuming Billy and Bubba are next since they have the same addons and a lot of them are useless. They also don’t have the new standard of 2 Pink, 4 Purple, 5 Green, 5 Yellow, 4 Brown addons. So I’m assuming Bubba might get a small base kit change and both billy and bubba will get better addons. Im curious how their pink addons will work.
-
Always expect them to have Dead Hard unless you know they used sprint burst, lithe, balances landing, and head on. Dead hard is extremely easy to counter. Instead of lunging right away wait 1-2 seconds to see if they use it. If they don’t then they most likely don’t have it. If they do use it on you then you know have the knowledge that they are running and can wait for them to use it next time you chase them. It always gets wasted and they have one less perk to their advantage.
-
No. Billy is what a well balanced killer is. All killers should look at bIlly as a standard.
If you limit the distance of his chainsaw all you have is a Bubba that can only down 1 person. Look at bubba now... I personally believe billy should stay as is and be looked at as a standard and buff other killers to be on his level.(Clown, Trapper, Wraith, Bubba etc) This way when we play survivor we will see all types of killers and not the same 3.

Nah, im saying that in the old EGC, the rarity of encountering players like that was practically 0%. It wasnt exactly 0, but it might as well have been. I only encountered 1 survivor doing that to me after hundreds of games as a killer and only 1 survivor after thousands of games as survivor in the old EGC. Besides that, back then, you could still hear breathing in lockers too. Essentially, as a killer you can actually still play the game. You cannot play the game when everyone is slugged. Sure, its "just" 2 minutes, but its 2 minutes of not being able to do ANYTHING. That's the difference there.
Besides that point, does it really matter if something is rare? It happened enough times to be annoying AF. All im trying to add is a solution to help fix that rare event that doesnt affect normal gameplay much. I mean, remember old brand new part? It was just a 2 minute game and having a 4 man squad carrying one each was rare enough that it didnt happen every single game(because it actually was an extremely rare thing to be in the blood web, looking at you ebony mori). Yet it was big enough of an issue to be changed. So why be so biased as to care for one game mechanic being abused, even though its "just 2 minutes" but its survivor sided, yet not care to "just 2 minutes" when its survivor sided. Especially if said fix does NOT AFFECT NORMAL GAMEPLAY.
Moris and BNPs have nothing to do with slugging and EGC.
Again, if you are going to keep crying about 120 seconds... go play a different game. No one ever wants to hear an entitled survivor or killer on here.

So according to you, the EGC shouldnt be neccesary because those few times survivors took their sweet time to leave the premise to try and make killers dc was fine? Remember? The whole game mechanic that was added to remove the ability for people to basically keep someone hostage for a few minutes? Realistically, it wasnt that much longer either, at most 5 minutes before survivors finally left the premise, which is only 300 seconds. Great to know you dont mind that then, ill ask the devs to reinstate the old ways.
That’s where you are wrong. If you’re slugged you WILL bleed out in 2 minutes. Before EGC there was no timer at the end. Survivors could just hide in lockers and start a totem and stop and go back into a locker so they’ll never get crows for as long as they wanted. Now there is a timer just like slugging. If you’re saying you don’t want EGC to be a thing then might as well also say that the timer for slugging will now be infinite and the only way to die is to be hooked.
Like I said, if you don’t have time for 120 seconds you obviously don’t have time for this game and it is not for you so go play something else.
-
If you’re struggling then you are positioning yourself in a bad spots. Be aware of your surroundings and plan ahead where you can go to put objects around you Incase he harpoons you. Same sense in not standing in the middle of no where against Huntress and nurse. Also don’t vault when you know he has a shot at you. People do this with Huntress all the time. In this case pallets are your safe spot. While Huntress can still hit you at pallets, deathslinger cannot.

@KingFrost said:
Trapper - If you see one of his traps
Wraith - Hearing BING BONG
Billy - His chainsaw sounds
Nurse - The Scream
Hag - Her traps
Doctor - You hear his ability or someone screams
Huntress - That infernal humming (though it could just be in your head) Also you hear a cling that signifies she's about to throw a hatchet.
Clown - cough cough
Spirit - The sound of her moving
Myers - When he reaches tier 2 you'll hear his music
Leatherface - His chainsaw.
Pig - Her boxes
Legion - Someone goes into Deep Wound State
Plague - Cleansing Fountains
Ghostface - Someone gets marked
Demogorgon - The portals
Oni - ROAR
Deathslinger - BANG
What about freddy.
I usually hear Demo over his loud screech after hitting someone before actually teleporting.
-
Yes there is one way. While the match loads there will be tips under the loading bar. Sometimes there will be a tip on going against a certain killer. Whatever killer is named there is the killer you’re going to be against. Everyone usually has different tips so yours might not say a killer but your other survivors will. It’s random.
-
Everytime I aim down sights with death slinger I lose a few frames. If you spam aiming then it’s like 3 FPS
-
I find him wayyyyy easier than Huntress and nurse. I even find nurse easier than Huntress.
-
If you don’t have time to wait 120 seconds every few instances this happens; then you shouldn’t be playing this game.
-
3 minutes I think.

This is impossible! Try to get away as much as you want, but 4 seconds is insufficient, it pulls with its chain and comes towards you. This is impossible!
-
People aren’t used to dodging his harpoon. It’s a new killer. Still have to learn to play against him. 3 games is not enough to conclude he is OP.
-
Usually releases at 11 EST. Put that into google and convert it into whatever time zone you have.

I don't see the need to call someone a moron just because you don't like something. That's highly unnecessary.
Wiggling definitely has its moments, but you're not meant to reliably wiggle out. It'll typically only happen if the killer gets greedy or poorly manages their hooks, or if the other survivors run breakout and/or take hits. But even if you don't wiggle out, it still holds a very important purpose. It's the only thing preventing a killer from walking across the map to hook you in the basement.
Can you please let the team know if it’s possible to change the wiggle controls on console from a joystick to L1-R1 on PS4 and LB -RB on Xbox. The joystick is very inconsistent, it’s much easier on PC when you alternate between 2 buttons.
-
I forgot to mention the worse we do the more kindred helps. If someone is getting hook after another I basically have unlimited aura reading.
-
In my opinion I think kindred is better than both but better together still being better than bond.
Using kindred helps when your team needs it the most. If we are doing good then no one is hooked and we are doing gens or only 1 person isn’t because they are being chased. Once they get hooked. I can decide if I should go for the save since no one else is or if I should finish my gen and go to one of the other gens already started by another teammate or if I see the killer coming towards my direction I can leave the gen early and try to avoid the killer to waste the killers time. If I do get found then I know where to avoid running to not interrupt my teammates gens. Once I get hooked my teammates can see which one of the three is going to save me so 2 or more don’t all come at once and stop working on gens completely.
If a killer decided to camp me it helps my team coordinate a distraction to unhook me as well.
-
I play PS4 and I tried using nurse without shadowborn after a while of using it and it was a lot more difficult. So I slapped it back on and haven’t taken it off since. Other good perks are infectious fright and make your choice or stridor. Stridor only to counter those iron will users incase you miss a blink and have to stare down you lose all visual awareness and they can easily escape a chase.
-
Thanks for this post.

I'm rank 1. Your post is baseless.
I’m rank 1 both sides. Doctor is so easy to counter. No way would I ever believe you are rank 1 with this kind of post. Get better at the game.
-
He always could stop you from vaulting and dropping pallets. You probably didn’t know that because he was such a bad killer that no one played him. Now that he’s ok and not strong at all you complain about it. It just shows how bad of a survivor you really are. Instead of asking for a catered nerf in your advantage why don’t you try getting better at the game and admit you got outplayed fairly by whatever doctor player made you create this post.
-
Where does it say it releases the 10th?
-
When they let you see your teammates rank and character level and what prestige they were on.
Then they took it away...
-
If it’s cross play from PS4 and Xbox then no big deal. But pc and console hell nooo.
