Wonderfull,simply marvelous

Sigh
This is sad.
I used to really respect Dowsey but he's slowly but surely becoming yet another "bash the devs" channel
Really hope VHS picks up sooner rather then later that he can switch to that before going full SC on propaganda negativity.
I know i'm going to get flack for this but it's really hard to look at things like this and not see mr 200 win streak on twins being salty cause he suddenly has to start facing survivors of his own caliber

I think it signals that your MMR needs to consider more than one factor when making adjustments.
And probably work on a team basis for Survivors (rather than encouraging selfishness/punishing altruism).
I mean it does concider more then one factor.
People like to throw the phrase "mmr only looks at kills and escapes" but that's not what they said. That's just what people chose to remember.
They also mentioned that how long a match was and how many survivors have been killed before plays a role.
For example a killer who camps and gets genrushed in 4 minutes getting 1 kill is going to lose a hell of a lot more mmr then a killer who got 9 hooks with 1 kill in a 15 minute game

Problem is the other way round: people who play well, but don't get the specific limited win condition being checked for drop down in MMR.
Which means new players get stomped by people who aren't just relying on a specific tactic that can be worked around (like spamming a move in a fighting game that has a tricky but consistent counter), but people who vastly outclass them in all regards, they just weren't playing for the "right" goal in higher brackets.
While i do agree that it is a flaw in the system that someone can go for 9 hooks completly outclassing the survivors but just letting 3 go goes down in mmr and starts facing even weaker survivors, it is not that big of a problem.
In the case of the camper who gets 2k-3k with single hooks if they drop in mmr you have a bracket in mmr where people's game is over when they lose a single chase.
In the case of the 9 hooks but 1 kill player they might face survivors that they outclass but in order to keep that they need to play in the most fair way possible and give survivors every chance they can get.
I think it's pretty clear which one is the lesser of the two evils
-
There is an issue right now that when killers lobby dodge survivors that they don't want to go up against the system will search for a replacement asap and throw balance out the window.

Protecting a bad player’s fragile ego shouldn’t factor into that decision.
Really now?
With that logic they can remove all killer perks from the game and delay the killer spawn by 30 seconds.
After all Otz has shown that he can still win the mayority of his games this way.
If you can't you need to shut up and get your fragile ego in check cause you clearly don't deserve a voice if you don't play this game for 8 hours a day.
I sincerely hope you realize just how idiotic this sounds. Cause that is what your mindset is in a nutshell.
-
Thank you, i really apreciate you doing this as i often can't catch due to work.
It's a shame there are some people that think doing anything but insulting the devs is bootlicking
i would say ignore the toxic negative community of dbd and embrace the positive cowmunity of dbd instead

well, in theroy a 2 / 2 outcome is considered a draw and therefore their opponents shouldnt get any weaker or stronger.
but nontheless, yes i do think someone that plays like that should have their game counted as a loss for them and move down in their matchmaking rating.
but due to how MMR works, that is literally not a punishment, because you dont get anything for actually getting a high rating, so in return there is also nothing you'd miss out on when you dont get it, which makes you not want to level up in the first place - which is another glaring design flaw i think this system has.
That it's not a punishment is the problem.
If those players go down in mmr then you suddenly have a mmr bracket where it's full of those players who are going against newer players.
Nobody would want to learn the game if that was the case.
These cheese strats need to count as wins too so those players start facing opponents who can deal with it.
For example in starcraft a zerg rush also isn't the epitome of skill but if you won with it you still went up in rank

Why should people who don’t know the game have a voice? It would be like asking me about how to design and construct a building. People who don’t put in time to learn the game don’t deserve a voice.
Thank you for showing the exact reason why this isn't a bad argument against not showing mmr

i can literally go and facecamp one guy to death, run Corrupt Intervention + Deadlock + No Way Out + NOED and get at least one more guaranteed kill that way.
am i a skilled player now?
am i better than that Hillbilly who hit sick curves around loops, only killed one person but had everyone else on deathhook?
No, the hillbilly is clearly better.
That said, despite them calling it skill based matchmaking (horrible name) it is first and foremost a matchmaking tool.
Should the 2hook 2 k facecamper face weaker survivors? Or should they face stronger ones?

So what the time difference now between nerfed CoH and self care? W/O any anything messing with the time like sloppy, mid kits, ect.
Old CoH (100% healing speed buff)
8 seconds to heal others and 10 seconds with mangled
16 seconds to heal self and 20 with mangled
New CoH(75% healing speed buff)
9.14 seconds to heal others and 11.43 seconds with mangled
18.28 seconds to heal self and 22.86 seconds with mangled
Self care still is 32 seconds to heal self and 40 seconds mangled

This is the point of the post. To say that they shouldn't hide the MMR because it's "toxic elitism", it's not. It's a really bad argument for why they want to hide it.
I disagree it's a bad argument.
I really don't want to go back to the olde days of the forums where people asked for a picture of where they stood in the game before wanting to take someones opinion seriously.

Disagree.
His Box isn't hard to do even in Solo Q.
Against inexperienced players? Yeah, absolutely. However, Killer is OP when Survivors are new. That's how it's always been.
Well these are avarages they are showing.
But i just realised you aren't really talking about the stats anymore and responding to what another person said so i'm making a mood point here

Huh? You don't eviscerate them on Midwhich? Don't get me wrong, when I was new, it was the second hardest map to learn behind RPD. But once I learned it, queue Drowning Pool.
It depends. Midwhich against survivors who run early is a real pain for the killer i play.
I'm not really surprised it's overal a killer sided map i just didn't expect it to be the killer-est side-est map of them all

So you're saying people will be toxic about it whether they can see it or not? At that point let people see it so they can see their improvement because currently you can't. Let alone every other argument for why you should be able to see it. Any game that compares skill is going to have toxic players, I'm sorry but that's how it is. It's not an excuse to hide it from people when 95% of the reason they want to see it is to see how good they actually are.
I'm saying they will be more toxic when it's shown. Again in the past people actually asked for a picture of your rank when you said something. That happened on these forums about the ranks this same forum mostly agreed were pointless.
Every game that compares skill is going to have toxic players. That's indeed how it is
And sadly while yes 95% of the reasons might be well intended it wouldn't be the first time the 5% of the ones who aren't ruin it for the rest. That's unfortunatly also just the way it is.

Pinhead is easily one of the worst Killers.
At top play maybe but he really messes solo's and especially inexperienced ones up.
Pinhead being at the top is the exact reason nurse is at the bottom but flipped
-
I'm really surprised about the killing-est map.
Both the map and the word "killing-est"
-
ackchyually he has under 50% killrate so he should be buffed *snort*
-
Probably because it's too integraded in the game's system.
I'm not an expert on it but i'm sure it's not just a case of ctrl clicking all the tier 1 and 2 perks and hitting delete.

-
How you going to steal a man's thunder like that.
GBKaru is probably working like crazy right now to make this exact thing
-
I agree, i was pleased with it.
Wouldn't focus to much on BT basekit. That's not what they said.
-
There was toxic elitism with the old matchmaking ranks where most people agreed that it didn't resemble skill at all.
Been a while but i remember people posting pics about their matches and getting completly shot down cause they were "only" green rank.
"Get to red rank and then you can talk"
Even today almost every time somebody wants to say something they feel the need to add "i am a high mmr player" even though they can't really know to enforce what they are saying.
So in a general sense I disagree. Having your mmr visible will definitely increase that elitisme.

So that makes healing 20 seconds?
It makes healing others about 9.5 seconds
And self heals about 19 seconds
-
My thoughts are to not read to much into it.
If you do and they don't then the dissapointment is entirely on you
-
That's slightly less then 19 seconds for a self heal and 9.5 seconds for healing others.
A good step to see how it will perform from now on.
-
Yeah i agree.
Atleast on killer you have different playstyles.
I started with Feng and every new chapter 3 new perks are introduced that make it less and less likely i'll ever play another survivor frequently.
Luckilly i started with the best girl

How rude. You stole my answer. 😛
Answering the OP's question... Agitation is also fantastic for this. It's a bit more common than some of the other answers but it still fits the bill. Usually killers are vulnerable while carrying... but Agitation flips the script. It is so satisfying to down an over ambitious flashlight user with Agi.

but that is the case? taking 0.5s out of 1s is actually a huge deal lol
Read it again
0.05 seconds
It's 1/6th of a avarage human blink. it's a little bit more then a single frame on console. Most likely if you play the exact same way everything will be the same cause pressing m1 takes longer then 0.05 seconds. If you are above 30 you probably won't be able to see the difference.
If this was a fighting game this would matter. It isn't though. That fraction of a fraction of a seconds just doesn't matter in almost all cases in dbd. Most of the time twin players don't even pounce with Victor instantly but wait untill they know for sure they'll hit the survivor so toy sword was honestly overrated in general.
Which honestly makes me more upset. It really feels as if it's not to actually nerf twins but as a reminder that they don't like them and anyone playing them
-
Coup de Grace and Play With Your Food on Legion
Nobody expects it and 1 hit is all it takes to go down after a frenzy. People tend to really greed vs m1 killers so that extra lunge or 5% ms often causes that one extra loop to be fatal
-
I don't think it does but it should.
You are resqueing a carried survivor with a stun
-
Going to be really original and say noed and dead hard
-
@FFirebrandd said:
Legion is actually a lot better than people give them credit for.
As for what perks I use on them, I usually go with perks that either highlight their strengths or mitigate their weaknesses usually a mix of both. Legion is fantastic for consistently harassing and slowing down Survivors, death by a thousand paper cuts if you will. On the flip side, their weakness is mostly getting that 2nd hit and ending chases.
Good perks for the first category are perks like Oppression, Eruption, Surge, and Thanatophobia. I will say that in my opinion Thana is not an insta equip like it used to be because Circle of Healing exists and injuries don't stick. Ruin would probably also be good here but I personally dislike Hexes.
Good perks for the second category are perks that are capable of giving you easy hits that you otherwise wouldn't get. Stuff like Enduring + Spirit Fury, I'm all Ears, Coup De Grace, and Play With Your Food. I realize that some of these perks are considered generally bad, but on Legion they actually function very well.
There's actually 2 perks that do fit into both categories that I find myself running a lot. Brutal Strength and Agitation. Brutal Strength can sometimes get you hits you wouldn't normally get and will frequently cause Survivors to not have the distance they need to actually loop pallets, meanwhile the faster kicking can also make dry kicking gens much more worthwhile and lower the amount of time you need to spend cleaning up dropped pallets you didn't kick in chase. Agitation obviously makes getting hooks just a bit faster which is nice, but it also allows you to get hits and sometimes downs while carrying other people.
My current main build for Legion is Brutal, Agitation, Eruption, and Coup De Grace. It works out pretty well.
I enjoy running coup the grace on Legion too. People never expect it.
-
Good job
Getting a perfect score as survivor indeed isn't a easy feat
-
A really underrated perk for legion is play with your food. Even at 1 stack it catches a lot of people off guard
Being a m1 killer people tend to greed vs you and that 5% really makes a lot of difference.
-

Yes pls

The cool thing about Legion is that they have a ton of build variety.
You can throw pretty much whatever you want on them and do pretty well against the avarage survivor.
The only perks i can think of that don't mesh well with their kit is stbfl and tinkerer.
I suggest checking out redgaminggear on youtube. He has pretty solid gameplay and switches up his builds often
-
I would rather see the pyro.
From the survivors pov a menacing flamethrower weilding maniac and from the killers pov all survivors look like babies and the entire map looks like a rainbow and sunshine paradise
-
We need more trapper grunts
-
I swear i get jumpscared more playing killer then survivors.
Those stuns out of nowhere really can get you

Stopped using bbq on every build and started experimenting with other perks and the game is so much more enjoyable for me

Its the same losing that 0.05 can be the difference between getting validated or not or just hitting a survivor who run around a rock or tree.
The only reason the number are bigger in my example its because BT is 12 second instead of 0.25. The perk getting nerf by 20% can make the difference between the survivor making it to the pallet or not.
I have to ask.
Did you actually play the ptb to see how much difference it makes? Or are you just assuming it does?
