I still don't get why is the number of trials you have to escape 55.
That's 138 games with the 40% escape rate.

Remove him. He's fundamentally flawed by taking bare minimum skill to play and encouraged to hit and run
So many downvotes but only one response which isn't constructive, people really meatride this killer even with what is blatantly zero reasoning huh
Not every killer needs to require a genius to play.
Also, hit and run is mostly a dead playstyle, so not sure how that's a problem.
I would understand if the argument was that it encourages brainlessly holding W, but making hit and run the base of your argument against him seems really shaky.
-
Eh, the offerings are a mess overall even with map offerings out the window, so I don't mind them existing after the nerf.
Plus, you have things like Outbreak Breakout, Mirror Myers, the map specific achievements, and killers like Trapper that have a very small pool of maps they can do something on.
-
Ah, I see the Freddy/Skull Merchant treatment is still ongoing.
He got already nerfed twice, to the point where you can predrop everything to slow him down to a crawl, but I guess he has to end up in D Tier with Adriana to know peace.

No he's stronger then the nurse my friend, he can get a free cheese mend hit and then bound Infront of you and because of his movement speed/ no fatigue down you almost instantly. He needs both the adjustments I said before anyone who says different is a killer main who just wants to 4k every game doesn't care if the game is balanced.
No he's not.
Nurse ignores everything. He doesn't.

Haddonfield should honestly be a priority at this point. It's horrendous in it's current state.
Yeah.
I know that it was despised, by in all seriousness, the OG Haddonfield was more salvageable than the current one.

Edit:
I've decided to add one more add-on (Safe Combination) to the Maps.
I've also reworked the Milky Glass (again), upped the reward Shard Pendant awards, and made an extra function for the Unique Wedding Ring.

When they open the gates, the game is almost over anyway.
If this would count as a loss (which it should and so should abandoning when everyone is downed as survivor), I'd be ok with this.
-
I'd be relatively fine with the Toolbox and Medkit changes you suggested.
The Key changes seem fine.
The Maps changes seem like an overall nerf tho. Making them only track Gens and Exit Gates makes it so the Rainbow Map is made weaker, while the Green Map is pretty much the same. The maps already depend quite a bit on the Stamp add-ons, since the base range is very small, so making yet another part of them (Totems and Hooks, they shouldn't track killer stuff under any circumstances) an add-on dependant feature feels bad. The inclusion of a Brown Map is good though.

I tried the perk after the latest changes again and you still feel the range nerf. With 6 meters this perk would be great and allow for some cool plays. With 5 meters you get the haste often too late and therefore you are unable to catch up fast enough to sabo the hook.
I would rather see this over the recent speed buff.

Thank you for all the helpful tips everyone! Any recommended builds you could suggest for a beginner on artist?
Dead Man Switch is her best perk, and perks like Surveilance or Tinkerer allow you to really harass people on gens. Iron Maiden is good for making lockers unviable for survivors (and making survivors that locker jump in your face DC), and for the fourth perk I would recommend some slowdown. Or, if DMS seems enough, Nurse's Calling.

I feel bad for those that play and love the game. It's a fun game but the hacker issue at the start and the devs stopped caring about the game fairly quickly was it's downfall.
Someone on the reddit pointed out Gun made announcement about stopping support on F13 after 14 months too, this time they can't blame a lawsuit. It's not like they didn't have more content to put into the game - people saw in the game files new characters including a family member named Meadow. It's too bad another developer can't take over.
I feel like they should just sell it to another studio or dev team, since they aren't going to do much with it anymore.

Yeah, I was thinking the game didn't have it the best but it could still be doable to keep it running.
What didn't help were the high prices for everything in the game.

Wait that happens? It will launch itself?
Sidenote - Willing to take any artist tips. I am enjoying her. I just bought the Miss Fuchi Outfit :)
If you aim a crow at a hill and launch it, it will go up the hill and stay on the height of it. This also works up and down stairs.
It ends up hurting you more than helping, imo, since there aren't many places where you can really use that feature.
But, I guess I worded it a bit weirdly: Crows don't launch by themsleves, you have to be the one to command them to do it.

Would it be too crazy if the birds could be aimed up or down depending on which floor you level you are on?
I struggle on dual floors.
Yeah, two floor maps are awful for her.
I feel like making the birds go up and down floors would end up really finnicky, I already sigh every time a bird decides to launch itself from a hill.

The comment about frame-perfect timing was clearly hyperbole — obviously nothing in the game is truly frame-perfect. But the truth is the timing window has been significantly reduced, which feels like an unnecessary punishment for a killer who, at best, is Tier A.
- If you don’t anticipate the pallet drop, the Dog gets stunned and goes into cooldown.
- If you’re even slightly late activating the chase after the pallet drops, the survivor escapes.
After all of that effort you still have to go around the pallet to actually deal a health state.
“Imagine if Huntress hatchets took 0.5 seconds to be thrown after you released the wind-up button.”
Except Huntress hatchets deal a health state instantly. So does this nerf even make sense? Give me one valid reason. If you want to keep it at 0.65s, fine — just explain why.
Fine, I will.
Imo, both the 0,45s and 0,65s are bearable, and neither makes or breaks the power. She has other issues and strengths that matter more.
All this change does is give the survivors a smidge more of a window to react. You can still easily win the pallet mindgame with patience, most survivors just drop the pallet and get bit.
What this change is good for, is making the survivors stop complaining and giving them counterplay they desire.
-
Around tier 13 I think?
Not really sure.
-
Yeah, it feels so.... stuck, most of the time?
Like, I'm AIMING it at the Exut Gate, not at the gen in front of me! Or, I'm aiming at that gen, how long do I have to point at it for the game to register it?
Also the bugs... just make me feel like this

I've been playing killer for a long while in Dead by Daylight but I'm not exactly the best at the killer role yet and i was wondering, what kind of builds is good for a player who isn't exactly the best at the killer role while playing as the Wraith, i mostly have trouble keeping up with gens in some matches against good survivor teams. (Note: I don't have the Stranger Things DLC yet, so i don't have surge)
Probably Pain Res or Pop could be good choices. Though, Surge is THE best slowdown perk for Wraith imo.
Lethal Pursuer works well, so does Nurse's Calling. I would also recommend either STBFL or Play With Your Food, as he uses them well.
-
Just played her today, and I gotta say the vault speed nerf is not that big of a deal.
I did discover 2 new bugs tho, one where I constantly heard the Search Path sound until I sent Snug away, it resolved itself so no problem there, and a visual? glitch where the dog phases through pallets.

I think it would be miserable for killers, but I also think survivor stuff needs to be sort of overpowered/broken, or survivors won’t care about it.
Keys can give a 32 meter on-demand killer aura reading for 22.5 seconds, or a 60 meter on-demand survivor aura reading for 30 seconds, and survivors just don’t care about them enough to use them. I see a lot of BNPs, syringes, and gel dressings, so I know survivors are using iri stuff… but they just don’t care about keys to use them, because keys “don’t do enough”.
The alternative is something like the smoke bombs survivors had during the void event, that were so miserable for killer that I stopped playing killer for the entire event.
I hope it won't get that crazy.

I already released a full discussion on how I'd update Maps and Keys.
@SoGo said:
I decided to make a set of changes for the Keys and Maps, as well as their add-ons. Keep in mind that new add-ons are marked like this: *[Insert name].
Feedback is very welcome.
General Map Changes:
• Removed killer specific objects from the list of objects classified as Killer Belongings.
• Removed the Yellow Wire and Black Silk Cord add-ons.Item Changes:
Map (Rare):
• Now, the map is also able to track the Hatch, Exit Gates and Killer Belongings
• Decreased the amount of charges to 15.
• Now, the map tracks 3 random objects at the start of the trial.Rainbow Map (Iridescent):
• Increased the amount of charges to 25.
• Increased the object tracking range to 10 meters.Add-on Changes:
Retardant Jelly (Uncommon):
• Extends the Map's duration by 10 seconds.*Yellow Strap (Uncommon):
• Allows the map to track windows.Red Twine (Rare):
• Allows the map to track pallets and breakable walls.
• Increased the rarity from Uncommon to Rare.*Magnifying Glass (Rare):
• Reduces the object tracking range to 6 meters. This effect trumphs all other add-ons.
• By pressing the Active Ability Button, the object tracking range increases to 36 meters for 5 seconds, tracking objects automatically.
Magnifying Glass has a 15 second cooldown.*Shard Pendant (Very Rare):
• Spawns a Iridescent Glyph into the Trial. Once the Endgame Collapse starts, this Glyph can be interacted with and be seen when reading the Map. Interacting with it grants a reward of 30 Iridescent Shards to the player.
• Allows the Map to track Iridescent Glyphs.*Glowing Ink (Iridescent):
• Auras of objects tracked by the map linger for 3 seconds after reading the Map.
• Increases the burning rate of the Map by 100%General Key Changes:
• All keys are now able to open a chest instantly. This consumes all of the Key's charges and makes it vanish from the player's inventory.
• Now, when using Mind Channel, auras of all Chests in a 32 m radius are revealedItem Changes:
Fragile Key (former Broken Key):
• Decreased the amount of charges to 10.
• Now, it's able to open the Hatch, but it takes double the time. It can also open a chest, but it takes 3,5 seconds.Dull Key:
• Increased the amount of charges to 15.Add-on Changes:
Eroded Token (Uncommon):
• Now also decreases the Key's consumption rate by 20%Milky Glass (Uncommon):
• When in an 8 meter radius of a survivor, you can create a link with them. You can only do this with a single survivor at a time. Creating a link also drains the Key's charges.
• Survivors who are linked with you can see the auras revealed by channeling a Key.
• Decreased the rarity from Very Rare to Uncommon.*Blank Key (Rare):
• Unlocking a Chest or the Hatch consumes this add-on instead of the Key.*Lucky Charm (Rare):
• Considerably increases the rarity of items in a chest unlocked by a Key.*Lockpick (Very Rare):
• Unlocking a Chest or the Hatch drains 30% of the Key's charges instead of completely consuming the Key.Weaved Ring (Very Rare):
• This add-on now activates when the Hatch spawns, making a faint shimmering sound which gets louder based on how close the player is to the HatchBlood Amber (Iridescent):
• Increased the rarity of this add-on to Ultra Rare/IridescentFlashlights are also a mess add-on wise, so some changes there would be great.
Medkits are okay-ish atm, aside the 2 add-ons that everyone knows.
and Toolboxes could get some rebalancing too, like the Commodius getting a nerf, the 2 speed add-ons getting a higher rarity or a nerf, and BNP should require at least 15 charges from the toolbox to be applied.
As to the new item, I guess it's not Firecrackers (a shame, since you have the now unobtainable Chinese Firecracker and a full unused add-on set in the game files), but I'm intrigued about it.

@Coffeecrashing said:
BHVR could just change the quest to “Escape the trial after all 5 generators have been repaired”.
That would stop survivors from excessively hiding all match, and hoping for get hatch as the last survivor.
While yes, rat plays are awful, that's not the main problem here.
The problem is that that particular milestone requires 55 escapes to be completed. With the average escape rate being 40%, that's approximately 138 survivor games. With Hatch out of the equation, this number will be even higher.
I think that the number should be lowered a bit, maybe to 40 Escapes or lower.
-
My problems:
- Search Command is really finicky and it takes ages to aim it, and god forbid you want to target a different gen other than the one you just aimed at.
- Houndsense disappears from all survivors whenever a survivor gets saved from hook or flashlight/pallet saved.
- She is supposed to have stun voicelines, but I have never heard them.
- Her add-ons are really not good aside a few exceptions.
- The dog pulls the survivor TOWARDS a pallet mostly, even though you are in the opposite way.
- Snug sometimes gets stuck at a random piece of map geometry and stays there for god knows how long, and you cannot free him with commands.

Every time I find a "green" medkit in a chest I have to tell myself "It's a yellow medkit." Oh! A green toolbox. No, wait, it's a yellow toolbox.
Almost no one referred to these things by rarity. Changing the colors makes such a mess of all the old tutorials and guides. And the colors are so same-y. There's no contrast. I don't even have color blindness, so this has to be awful for people who do.
Yeah, it sucks.
I already have a small story about it confusing me, I was uploading a match to NightLight, and the thing didn't recognize a certain toolbox. I thought to myself, oh, yeah, green toolbox so Commodius… wait.
I thought the yellow toolbox was green because of the color change.😅

-
It's not that hard to defend, tho.
It has some of, if not THE best 3-gen setups in the entire game, the 4-5 gens in the middle are really close together.
Plus, while it has a high pallet count, it's full of those loops where there are just 3 rocks and 2 pallets between them.

I am genuinely confused on how did you manage to play that much in just 5 days. It would take me a month.

@[Deleted User] said:
You are right, escapes are a terrible task. In a solo queue, these are literally 3-4 tortured escapes. This is all complicated by both your solo friends and the entire spectrum of strong killers. When your matches consist of Blight, Hillbilly and Ghoul that within 30 seconds already make a hook, then another hook, another hook... Your generators are at best at 4-5. This looks more like a massacre than a game.
On the other hand, when an M1 killer comes to my lobby with all possible indignations, imaginary or real. This at least looks like a game, where the generators will be at 0-3. Yes, the killer can kill you, but at least there is a chance to escape.
I immediately noticed that the task requires SWF. My suspicions were confirmed. Having played duo one evening, I was able to increase my escapes to 13!!! All you needed was a reliable partner, who you can rely on not to waver at a crucial moment. Take that nasty speed build Duty of Care, Overcome, Babysitter, Borrowed Time. Thanks to which you can simply run away from any tunneler in a straight line.
I would add that the killing task is also bad, but for slightly different reasons. The developers needed to make something like a rescue (necessarily safe) for survivors and 4 hooks of different survivors in one match for killers. After all, killers have a task for hooks, and this gives the game a ghostly chance that there will be more games distributing hooks. Fewer games where the killer thinks about how to effectively kill you.
15 Trials is only step 5?!
Ngl, that sounds awful.
-
Wait.
Isn't Alien Instinct only triggered on the furthest injured survivor?
Because if that's the case, then all you have to do is always heal up when possible.
-
It's unfortunate, but the game did tank HARD.
They probably decided that the game wasn't worth implementing as a full license because of that.
-
I'll just link this here so I don't have to rewrite it again:

First of all, I really, REALLY hate the new colors they did for the normal 5 tiers. They are confusing for both old AND new players (because people will still use the term yellow medkit and everyone will get confused), they are ANTI-ACCESIBILITY (worse for colorblind people), and completely unnecessary, given they were changed to "make the game more like other games". Why? Why do the Devs want this game to be as devoid of personality as possible? Don't fix what's not broken.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/C4GP7VKNDD9C/sn-c3-admka-obrazovky-2025-05-06-175351.png
On top of that, they removed the Event rarity, so now Event items are ULTRA RARE! And they cost 5000 BP now! These mostly useless offerings that majority of people ignores, now cost as much as an Iri add-on. That is unacceptable.
Next up, the Rift. It was made way uglier now, with small icons that you need a microscope to see well, and the "BUY PREMIUM!" button slapped in the middle. It looks like a cheap mobile free-to-play game.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/CC934QUBXS6U/sn-c3-admka-obrazovky-2025-05-06-175318.png
Another thing is, unless I miscounted, the premium track no longer gives you back a 1000 Auric Cells, but only 975. Again, why?Yes I miscounted, my bad. It's still 1000.Next up, the Quests. One word, GENERIC. The name is generic (it should be Rituals), the look is boring and generic, the challenges themselves are all really boring, and they want to also retire the Compendium on top of that? My opinion is, no, keep the old Tomes. And maybe add some more unique challenges into the new system too.
And finally, we come to the fact that the Rift was made unbelievably grindy, with the Daily Rituals giving you NOTHING. Barely any bloodpoints (even though the ones before gave you at LEAST 30000 for each one), not enough Rift Fragments for A SINGLE TIER. It's also yet another FOMO feature, since someone found out you have to do almost 40 days worth of the Daily Challenges alongside everything else to get to Tier 100. (Edit: You do still get passive Fragments from just playing, thank god, but it's not visible. STILL, the Daily Challenges are FOMO at it's finest)
And that's not even mentioning the Weekly Rift Challenges (in a case they disappear too, I'm not sure of that tbh). They don't, thankfully.Overall, this update was yet another shove towards DbD becoming a joke of a game, like Fortnite, which the Devs seem to aspire to become for some reason.

I couldn’t agree more, everything just seems messy & all over the place. For whatever reason, changing the colors was absolutely not needed. The display page for quests honestly, another mess. Yes the more options for rituals now converted to quests are nice, but the page is just all jumbled together & it’s all around annoying. The rift… I don’t know what mind said to change the display.. I get wanting to show more details to the items, but come on. All around I feel like these were just carelessly thrown together with no care on what any of us players were actually concerned about. It’s disheartening really.
True.

The system is intended to work in a way where this situation results in a loss FOR KILLER.
Apparently, it just shows the wrong state, but it should show that you escaped.

There is a reason, and it's why they changed it. It's more immediately familiar to new players.
If you're coming into DBD from other games, which again most games use this color scheme, you can now immediately get a feel for how rare an item or addon is purely by what color it is.
I mean DBD already almost used this exact color scheme.
Oh, I may have worded it incorrectly. There is not a single GOOD reason for them to do that.
The confusion they have caused by changing the colors between old and new players (guides mentioning yellow medkits, colorblind players, ect.) far outweighs the moment of confusion for new players when the color is slightly different than other games.
-

This color system dates all the way back to Diablo 1.
World of Warcraft is technically the game that made it an industry standard.
Most games with item rarities use this color system, not just Fortnite. DBD was kind of an outlier.
I can't believe people actually care that much about this.
I care because there was not a single reason to change it and they did it anyway.
-
Because Fortnite is apparently a pinnacle of game development so we must make DBD a carbon copy of it, but "horror".

I feel like a "casual, chill mode" would be impossible to do as well.
Because, frankly, what's stopping people from coming in with a mindset to be a nuisance?
-
On top of all this, old tomes will be removed (PLEASE DON'T), and there is no new lore until an unknown date.
Oh, and also, Event Rarity is gone and was replaced with Visceral too, so now the time-limited, bloodweb clogging, useless for the most part offerings cost 5000 BP. Just why?

Kind of the other way around. Legendaries are more expensive than ascended skins.
From the dev stream a while back they said Ascended skins feature extra VFX but aren't quite "Ultra Rare", not sure what makes a skin qualify for a Legendary exactly, but my guess would be significant model changes or very unique appearances. And then there's Ultimate Houndmaster being Visceral for some odd reason.

The new colors for the items, add-ons, offerings, and perks is worse not only because it screws up everyone with muscle memory based on the previous colors, but also because they chose the perfect shade of blue to mess up people with protonopia and none of the "colorblind options" are capable of fixing the fact that the blue and purple look basically identical. It's infuriating that they went from picking colors that weren't exactly ideal for one group of people with color vision deficiencies to deciding to change their colors and going with colors that just hurt another group with color vision deficiency. It is absolutely possible to pick colors, hues, and saturations that are easily distinguished by people in all groups. The alternative is give us the option to pick our own colors or let us have the option to revert changes to whatever set effects us the least as some form of damage mitigation.
Yeah, it's hilariously dumb that the new colors are an active change for the worse in terms of colorblind people not being able to distingush them.
The colors confuse me already, I was uploading one of my matches on NightLight and mistook a normal toolbox for a Commodious one because of the color.
