I agree with the event offering. Every event offering besides cakes become useless wants the event is over which means we lose so much BP for nothing - in general it is also better to drop BPS or cakes instead of the event offering which is so stupid.

What I really dislike about the new rift is that there is no quick way to check it: You have to either go to the main menu and then click rift or go to the quests and then click on the rift button. I miss the rift icon on the left for a quick look. I can understand that for some people the icons are to small.

I like the new quest system and the milestones feel cool - much better than the old dailies and tomes. It feels much smoother and faster. I admit that I've never did dailies because I don't like to play something that I cannot play or want. However, I miss the specific archives for rift-featured characters. It gave them more attentions and featured them better. This was really cool and I'm sad this is gone - it was gone with the latest tomes too but now it seems completly gone. So, in my opinion, this new feature needs some adjustments like more daily quests and a higher reward, especially BP. I also feel like the milestone time (same time like for the rift) is too short because I am already nearly done with the killer ones and for the survivor ones I will not need 80 days. In addition, there should be a special rift-quest-system with quests only for the featured characters (e.g. 20 for Dredge and Haddie that are like down 20 survivors during Nightfall, escape 3 trails with Haddie, use Dredge/Haddie-Perk and do xxx with it). Otherwise, I appreciate that we now get four different recolors for some skins. Yes, not so special but cool since it enables more unique outfits.

About the new grind: On the one hand, it feels better because I was already done with the latest rift two or three weeks after they started and then the whole rift felt so over which was a bit sad - the archieves I did for BPs. On the other hand, the new quest-rift-features feels a bit too much because it looks very strictly timed and difficult to get done for casual players even with events (e.g. the next 2v8 or an upcoming anniversary one).

Yeah, the way to get to the Rift is kinda awkvard, I noticed that too.

I completely agree with your suggestion to add in character specific Challenges alongside the normal ones.

Yeah, I think glyphs might unfortunately just be incompatible with this system.

I'm planning on making a more in-depth post about this soon, but my hope is that on top of keeping the Compendium for old challenges, we might be able to get once-a-chapter drops of a few pages of Glyph, Memory Shard, and related challenges bound to that old Tome system so players who want to do them still can.

I feel like Glyphs and Memory Shards wouldn't be an issue under certain conditions (like them exclusively keeping the restriction of doing only one at a time).

BhVR is unaware that the Ormond and Borgo scratches are hard to see, or it took them years to finally change the color of the map. I never thought from the beginning that they would make any user friendly changes to the color or size of the icons. On top of that, the various changes made this time were worse than I expected.

Yeah, them fixing what's not broken infuriates me a lot.

There is usually that weird bug/glitch that sometimes make you get -25 yet the game seem to self fix it or devs patch it xd. Kinda strangely common as well.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

I don't buy the Rift Pass, so I wasn't really aware of the bugs it comes with.

  • @jesterkind said:

To be fair, as long as those types of challenges still exist, you can still gear your loadout and playstyle for that match around completing that quest— that's already how I do things in other games that have this system, like Fortnite, I'll pick my landing spot geared around doing one of the quests available.

All it means is that you can do multiple at once, which could also be more reason to tailor your loadout and approach.

My bigger issue by far is reports that there aren't any glyphs or other interesting/unique challenges. I think those should still exist in some form, they're unique to DBD and it's a shame to lose uniqueness unless absolutely necessary.

    I agree.

  • I still don't get why the devs want this game to be so much like Fortnite.

Like, excuse you, but I want my horror game, not a FOMO fest that bleeds you dry mentally and finantially.

I hope so, the herbs should permanently stay in every 2v8 for now on, just make it so bots don't steal all the herbs from real players. During the previous 2v8 the bots would steal all the herbs even when they were healthy and had no hook state.

I would like them to come back, but they probably won't. Kind of a shame, since they were a pretty nice addition for both sides.

  • I am joining this motion.

    Keep the Compendium, please.

  • If you like it, then I'm not blaming you for it.

Blue is also one of my favorite colors.

That said, I don't see a SINGLE reason to change them after 8+ years just because "iNdUsTRy StAndArD".

The fact that the old colors were more colorblind friendly than the new ones is hilarious in itself.

  • YES.

Say it louder so the people at BHVR can hear it.

  • I feel like all this could be solved with a simple thing to add:

    Master Challenges

The same thing that made the old Tomes unique (killer/survivor/perk specific challenges, Memory Shards, Glyphs, ect.)

  • Ok, at least there's that. I just can't count.

100% agreeing with you. This patch (aside from Orela herself) was a major step backwards.
And don't get me started on the "quests" that hand you a measly TEN (10) iridescent shards.

Oh god, I didn't check the number or shards it gives you, but you're right. That's awful.

  • It's really a travesty.

Before, I could play killer exclusively AND get all the rewards. Now, I have to do everything, killer AND survivor, to barely get there.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

    Agree with everything you’ve said.

The new quests system is particularly egregious though. 2500 for a daily is INSULTING.

Right? Before this we had 30 000+ per challenge, and it didn't even require that much with some characters, like Wraith

  • I would also be in favor of upping both the rewards and the difficulty.

  • @LilythGeist said:

I can also confirm you still get RF for just playing. There was no visual indicator but I went from 60 to 65 after a match with no questses done

    Oh thank god.

  • @Emiloo said:

They've made this new battle pass so unfriendly to casual players its insane. Im worried that in their attempt to cater to potential new players, they're going to alienate the old ones. It feels like the new battle pass is meant for you to pay for the rift pass to get a head start, or to not finish it due to how grindy it is, in order to force you to pay for the next rift instead of making your auric cells back.

    Oh it absolutely is.

With the BUY NOW button being bigger than all of the reward icons and plastered in the center of the screen, with the slower and grindier way of getting Fragments, removing passive XP gain and making Dailys give you nothing, it really is meant to make you pay for the premium

  • Yeah, I absolutely agree with you.

The Rift is ugly, the Quests are too generic in name, look and content, the new rarities suck and are a backwards solution to a nonexistent problem, you need a magnifying glass to see the icons now and the event items now cost 5000 BP for SOME reason.

  • @AbsolutGrndZer0 said:

So I see all the old tomes, but where is the new lore? Is that a thing of the past?

    There is none :(

  • GIVE US BACK CHEAP EVENT THINGS.

  • Eh, they are definitely going for a certain theme with it. Those who like it will like it.

I'm just glad with a free Jake skin and that's about it.

  • @Matsu_Robot said:

With the recent release of the mid-chapter update, rarities were reworked to make them simpler and more in line with other games. Now, this came with the removal of the Event Rarity. The problem here is, since event items no longer had a rarity, BHVR swapped them out for Visceral rarity (previously Ultra Rare/Iridescent). This makes it so the event nodes cost 5000 bloodpoints rather than 2000 bloodpoints and I don't know if this would apply but it would make the items rarer as well. I can't figure out if this change was intentional or if the price and rarity were accidentally altered with the change to Visceral. I hope this gets fixed, especially with the anniversary coming up.

    Oh hell no.

BHVR, I know you want to make the rarities less chaotic (even though changing colors didn't really help), but this is unacceptable.

Do you know how many USELESS event offerings there are? A lot of them. Their one saving grace was that they were cheap.

So now, we have to pay double for a crappy offering that is actively worse than a rare BPS.

  • Yeah, I hate that.

Add in the fact they changed the Rift UI and it now looks like this:

    Snímka obrazovky 2025-05-06 175318.png

Like a cheap mobile game with the BUY NOW! button front and center.

    Why was babysitter buffed?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/76G1UY9E7KBR/1000021304.jpg

It was one of the best perk in the game to combat tunneling, especially when applied to a decent survivor player and it got buffed to be even better? So the developers almost butchered pentimento and most hex builds in one go and now babysitter was buffed out of all things?

At this point, with new babysitter and duty of care, why would you play any killer that doesn't have good mobility in their kit?

At this point, I welcome the stacking removal.

  • It looks SO bad

    Snímka obrazovky 2025-05-06 175318.png

It looks like a mobile game. Why are the icons so small, I need a magnifying glass!

    Snímka obrazovky 2025-05-06 175351.png

    Why. Just… why?

    Snímka obrazovky 2025-05-06 175608.png

What was wrong with Ultra Rare?

  • Where Pinhead perks?

  • Did Nea eat some dynamite before the trial, what the hell?

  • @toxik_survivor said:

People saying remove the 4% is just sad. That's been a staple in DBD gameplay since release. There is nothing wrong with that RNG.

I also feel like completely removing it is not the move. Especially since it sometimes DOES work and it can be great.

The essence of the problem lies in the fact that I live in the Far Eastern part of Russia and it turns out that I have problems connecting to servers. It turns out that I don't come across guys from Russia because I'm constantly being accessed by Thai servers and the players are only Thai. So the suggestion is to add a selection of servers at will, since I don't want to play with them as much as possible. This kind of gaming experience extinguishes all desire to play at all, because I'm playing among a foreign community that I don't understand.

I would be in favor of this, too.

There is a risk of it being abused by Zimbabwe Bubba wannabes, but the fact that servers backfill from completely different areas because queue times are too long is a bit upsetting.

  • As of May 6th, 2025, this issue is still in the game.

He isn’t as strong as some people think. I believe that nerfing the vaulting speed is the only adjustment he needs. I’ve played a lot as this killer, and I’ve done quite well when facing him because of my experience while playing as him. I’ve even made a few players disconnect.

Edit- I don't see anyone giving up more against this killer than any of the other ones tbh.

I'm not sure what exactly you're supposed to do against him, but I imagine it's similar to Nurse, in "get out of his LoS, always have an obstacle between him and you, except you can predrop and stun him, unlike Nurse.

  • I saw a post discussing a Visionary (Felix perk) buff, that would among other things include a guaranteed Map when going through a chest.

  • @Yoshirama said:

we need to next prevention, but first they need to fix the causes of it, aka tunneling and camping… and some fixes to some maps and killers (some anime boy) then we can talk about the go next prevention

I get the reasoning behind this, but many go-next-people will throw a hissy fit and leave over the smallest things.

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

A better solution would be to start retiring old items and add-ons that nobody ever uses (keys, anyone?) and introducing new items/add-ons that are more worthwhile to actually use. Unfortunately, BHVR doesn’t seem to want to prioritize this, so I doubt this is ever going to happen.

i feel like they just need an overhaul, adjust some things, remove the really unnecessary things, etc.

  • I feel like most, if not all chase add-on just suck.

I'll go over those that do and don't need changes:

    • Don't: Iri Ship Wheel, Marlinspike, Gunpowder Tin, Fatty Meat, Spiked Collar, Unfinished Map, Trainer's Book, Young Coconut

    • Buff them: Leather Harness, Ship Figurehead, Barley Meal, Knotted Rope, Belaying Pins, Spyglass

    • Rework them: Torn Novel, Training Bell, Waterskin, Smoked Snapper, Creature's Bone, Sticky Pitch

Keep in mind it also counters exposed perks like Friends Til the End and Starstruck. So it doesn't match up with Friends' timer on the killer side, and also it makes Deli's broken go down way faster, so if you do DS Deli and the killer uses Deli's broken as a timer, they just get screwed cuz Broken goes away in half the time

    I know about that.

By itself it's fine imo, but it should not stack. That would solve the problem very well.

  • I had a cheater Vittorio today.

Infinite Head On stuns without anyone being in a locker, blinds from nowhere... He was likely in a 2- stack with a Taurie (she brought a Badham offering, he brought a blueprint), but I'm not sure if she was cheating too. Reported him after the game, I'll se what happens.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/430635/a-hag-buff-idea

Disagree with the first change. She needs 4.6. Range req should just be removed too.

I feel like making her 4,6 would only be a mild buff that makes it so you just play her without really using her traps.

I don't have an issue with her being reliant on her power IF it's strong enough.

  • I do agree it needs to stop stacking.

Leader, a very rarely run Dwight perk, has a condition that only one instance of it can apply on a survivor. Vigil should be the same.

  • Mostly agree, aside Greenville Square and Underground Complex.

Greenville Square is slightly killer sided with the cluster of 4-5 gens that spawns in the middle.

And Underground Complex is just bad for either side.

  • Also, as someone who wasn't on the PTB and only now found out about the visual changes of the rift and quests:

Why does it look like a cheap mobile game now?

Why, BHVR? Why does every UI or visual update look so horrendous?

  • Idk about everyone, but I'm installing a "classic" pack from Nightlight the moment these colors will go live

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

@SoGo I thought of you when I wrote all of this out. 🥹

    Aww, thanks.

  • It's very hit or miss.

Sometimes you get a Plague (who has a pretty wide spread of nice add-ons) and sometimes you get an Unknown (with 9 status effect add-ons)

Though it does seem like it misses more in recent years.

  • I would love a perk for that.

  • @UndeddJester said:

I like it myself not sure the TP range is REALLY needed as I often find myself maintaining my web in my off time and usually am in range as a result... however I don't see a reason why not. You're in control on where you're placing your traps, so if you're putting them FAR afield and get pulled away because of it, that is kinda on you I feel.

The speed boost is fine on TP, it feels like you should expect her to be speedy when running out of a trap. Alternatively a longer lunge might work nicely. I often find that Coup solves a lot of my Hag problems.... and Unrelenting funnily enough.

I would personally like trap notifications to be improved in general. I wouldn't be too against having the noise notification just removed completely so you can see it easier and instead: -

    • You always hear thebmud phantasm spawn crack directionally regardless of distance (an appropriate drop off to give a sense of distance, but it's always audible).
    • Wiping away a trap gives its own sound in the same way, and the trap is highlighted yellow for 5 seconds after it's wiped away.

    Thanks for commenting!

I agree with the notifications, a change like this would clear up a lot of issues.

  • Firstly, thank you for commenting.

    @Langweilig said:

I don’t think hags problem is her strength. She is quite strong and has little counterplay most of the time. My main reason why I don‘t like playing her is that I have to constantly set up traps all around the map, which I consider unfun. All she really needs is changes to make her playstile more fun.

I‘m glad you didn‘t go with the 4.6 m/s buff. It would be very boring like with trickster. I don‘t think she needs that either way. Her power is strong enough to make up for it. I never had the problem of s-tech and found it quite easy to hit people, so I don‘t think it’s needed.

    Range increase sounds good.

I don‘t really get what you want to archive with getting a loud noise notification. It wouldn’t really matter.

The better thing against camping would be that the traps get removed/burn in a certain radius to the hook. With your suggestion the traps from before would still stay there.

Your addon suggestions are fine. I like the scream addon. I have one addon idea, her traps respawn once after a certain time after they got activated. This would be strong and keep your trap network alive a little longer.

A quality of life buff I would like to get is faster setting up speed of traps. I hate it being stuck in animations that take relatively long.

I also kinda feel like light burn should return for hags traps. That way there wouldn‘t be a basekit counter and they‘d require a flashlight or have to run into traps. I think removing light burn was what did hurt hag the most.

The main thing with Hag, is that she is a noobstomper, above all else.

Casuals or people who don't face her often (a.k.a. most of the playerbase) will struggle. People who know what to do against her (run into the trap and hold S as soon as the Mud Phantasm pops up, 9 times out of 10 Hag cannot hit you and has to chase you normally) will have a field day with her, however. Trap counterplay should be wiping them away, not triggering them and holding S. That's mainly why I included a speed boost. But yeah, just making her 4,6 would just make her more generic without really helping her.

As for the camping prevention, that is what I would like to actually happen. I may have worded that poorly, but traps near hooks would get wiped away when someone is on them.

The setting speed is coded in a way where it can't be lower than 1 second, because of Hag bending over and standing up being separate parts of the animation unaffected by add-ons. It could use some reductions though.

And finally, I disagree on Lightburn. Yes, it did hurt her, but counterplay to a killer shouldn't be locked behind an item you may or may not bring. Wiping them away is fine. Especially with my version of her, she would get incredibly annoying without a base-kit option to destroy traps.
