It’s because the devs are allowing event hooks to be sabotaged.
-
I don’t really agree with it either. It doesn’t really feel right to have a Survivor escape with five gens left. They really didn’t do anything. You managed to slaughter them. However, Killers could just hold the game hostage forever, so I understand why it exists. I think that instead of having the Hatch spawn at five or four gens left, the EGC should begin 60 seconds after the third Survivor dies. The Killer can hit the gate switches to start the EGC early if they want to. This way the Survivor isn’t completely screwed over by bad teammates but doesn’t have a ridiculously easy escape option and actually has to do something.
-
It's basically the Lunar event 0.5. Devs got REALLY lazy and greedy this time.
-
The devs want you to cough up real money for the Rift instead of completing these.
-

I predict many people will derank just to pull these challenges off and I don’t blame them to be honest. I don’t think the devs thought these challenges through as much.
You're right, they didn't. They're hoping you'll fork over real money instead of taking the time to complete the bullshit challenges.
-
Buffing him to 110% would be good. That way he doesn't have to struggle with being the second slowest Killer in the game.
-
Unfortunately, you're right. Survivors would lose their ######### if the weaker Killers were buffed instead of the stronger ones being nerfed. All they want to do is loop them for five gens. They don't care about getting good (that's what they expect Killers to do). Wouldn't be surprised if Hag, Freddy, and Billy get nerfed next because people are learning how to properly play them and Survivors struggle with looping for five gens.

okay tell me how i can ignore having my location revealed and being in a chase and unable to use pallets or vault because he shocked me into tier 3
and ya dude everyone knows about the apple but theyre so damn hard to find in chests and the bloodweb its really not a reliable counter
but actually i dont know how to practice because every game I get into vs doctor i get killed before I have a chance to actually practice or learn from my mistakes, or i manage to hide from him the entire game and dont practice because i literally just do gens and leave before he finds me
like if he gets me into tier 2 its basically a guaranteed death for me
Calm Spirit prevents your location from being revealed from Madness tier ups. As for the illusions, you can just hide when you hear the terror radius. I think running through one is supposed to destroy it, but it doesn't always work. There is no way to know for sure if he's running Restraint though. You can only guess.
You're supposed to be able to use pallets and vault locations while in tier 3. The shock stun is only supposed to last 2.5 seconds. It sounds like you're dealing with a bug.

How can you look around in maps with no los? Like the maps I mentioned? It gives survs no info while the Killer literally was wallhacks all game. Who cares if you're slower when you can gen grab and get free hits
You don't need to see him coming from far away. His breathing is also loud and you could probably hear his footsteps on the indoor maps. You're more likely to take a hit, but remember how slow he is and use that to your advantage. Some loops become infinites when used against him.
-
Good riddance. It took too long to get rid of these.
-
It's basically a reskinned Lunar event unfortunately.
-
Unfortunately she probably will be nerfed because a lot of Survivors only want M1 Killers that they can easily loop. If they struggle to loop a Killer, then they just cry for nerfs instead of getting good.

Dude Scratched Mirror had little to no counters, especially on maps with little los checks like some Autohaven maps, Lery's, The Game and the Stranger Things maps. It was op, now it's balanced
What are you on? Scratched Mirror can be countered by simply looking around, using Distortion, or avoiding areas where he could easily grab you (if a gen is by an opening, you repair it from the side that isn't right beside an opening). His breathing is also kinda loud. If you can't outrun a Killer at 105% MS, then that's your problem. This "fix" is only for "consistency", aka when lazy Survivors complain and the devs need an excuse to nerf something. There was no need to nerf EW1 Myers.
-
As a Doctor main for a good amount of time, I can tell you that he is NOT in need of a nerf. You can ignore a lot of his Madness effects and his shock therapy is harder to use on longer loops. The hallucinations will only reveal your location to him if he has the Restraint add-on (this includes the Iridescent King version) or you're in tier 3. They will still appear if you're in tier 2 and he doesn't have Restraint, but he will not see their auras. If you're still having trouble, then just keep practicing until you've got it. We can't just nerf everything for low ranks.
There is a super secret alternate method to taking him down though. It makes this entire thread seem like a complete waste of time. It's called eating an apple. If the first apple doesn't work, then keep eating them until you find one that does.
-
It honestly seems like a reskinned Lunar event. The Serum definitely shouldn't have been tied to the Rift.

It's funny that you pick one of the easiest ones to accomplish to complain about. Bring an offering to add 2 chests. Bring Plunderer's. If you are playing SWF the other survivors won't mess with the chests. Should easily be done in one game. Even in solo queue you should be able to accomplish this in a few games.
A lot of the challenges are far more unfair. 3 rescues during the EGC is absolutely insane. Unless the killer is cooperating, it is almost impossible.
I think you missed the part where it's supposed to be done in a single trial. You can't play multiple trials as a solo Survivor.
And I'm not guaranteed to get a coin in the bloodweb. I could spend five million BP and not get a single coin.
-
They should've brought back the event from last year. I liked the Pustula Plants and getting the nectar from them.
-
I wonder if there's going to be an increase in toxic Doctors and salt towards anyone playing Doctor (even if they aren't toxic) due to the Decisive Light challenge. Just keep putting the Survivor with a flashlight in tier 3 and they can't complete the challenge.
-
Their statement about Doctor kinda scares me, mainly because of the players they balance around (yellow and green ranks). I don't want another Legion situation where a Killer who has problems is made even worse because of Survivor fun (especially when that Killer is one I play a lot). He just needs some buffs and that's it.

I actually think its too good. A 6 second heal is a little ridiculous, and its a 6 second heal you can do multiple times. I can heal while being chased now, its silly.
Six second heal? Holy ######### that's fast. Wasn't there a similar problem back when DbD first came out where We'll Make It would apply to you and stack, so you could have 300% faster healing speed?
-
You know there's an Archive challenge for this, right?
Also I'll play how I want, thanks. :)
-
I'm baffled by these challenges. What the ######### was BHVR on? Are there even four chests in a trial without an offering? I thought there was only three. The only challenge that makes sense at all ranks is Mechanical Obsession. The others seem to rely on you having lower rank players.
-
Not really surprised due to the amount of crying. Sucks that Survivors only M1 Killers that they can loop for five gens. Really hope it’s not another Legion situation.
-
Because a lot of people like to play with their friends during events and have “fun” (aka ######### the Killer over).
-
Yes please. This is easily the most broken map in the game. I’m pretty sure that everyone saying it’s fine is either talking about it aesthetically or has never or rarely played Killer on it against decent Survivors. Balanced Landing turns the houses into infinites. The only three (and maybe two due to the recent patch) Killers that can deal with this map are Spirit, Hag, and Nurse. Even then Spirit and Hag need the right add-ons to deal with just how broken this map is.
-
Amazing changes.
-
Too many Survivors got upset that they couldn’t gen rush.
-
They just need to make it a consistent perk. Survivors can jump out of the locker and nothing will happen or Killers can press the button to open the locker/grab the Survivor and it doesn't always register that the Killer did something.
-
Sounds like someone is struggling against Freddy and came here to whine instead of trying to get better.
-
They might be leaving up obvious totem spots so they can come back to them later, which makes it a lot easier to find and destroy NOED.
-
Hopefully not. Sabo is very unhealthy for the game.
-
The only add-on that I really want to see changed is Scrapped Tape. If the devs have to add more status effect add-ons, then they should be new add-ons, not “updated” versions of old ones.
-
People would DC just to stay at low ranks and bully new players.
-
Doctor: BBQ, Distressing, Unnerving, Overcharge. Add-ons are Iridescent King and High Stimulus Electrode.
Freddy: Ruin, BBQ, PGTW, Surveillance. Add-ons are Paint Brush and any of the pallet add-ons.
-
Best: Doctor
Worst: Trapper
-
DS should deactivate when at least one of these conditions is met:
- The Survivor interacts with something. No more super safe lockers.
- The gates are powered. DS during the endgame is basically a free escape.
- Another Survivor is downed. It really sucks not being able to put the Survivor back on the hook because they have DS, even though their teammate messed up.
- The Survivors kobes when you are within 32 meters. It's not tunneling at that point. It's the Survivor being dumb and wasting their escape chance when you're still nearby. The Survivor deserves to die in this situation.
-
Ghostface's. It's not very fun and getting marks while leaning isn't very easy, especially against halfway decent Survivors. The leaning requirement should be removed and it should either have you just mark three Survivors or hit three marked Survivors.
-
If we have to. We don't even know what the problem is. For all we know, it could be some really big, game-breaking bug that can't be squashed in a couple of hours. Again, would you rather wait and risk missing Halloween but get a playable event or get a broken event right now? Even if the devs released the event on time, people would complain that it's broken and that it should've been delayed.
Hopefully the devs will be able to give us some good news tomorrow like their status update says, but if it doesn't, just remember that they're trying to make sure we can actually play the game and not go through a buggy mess.
-
Would you have a buggy mess of an event release now or wait a couple of days for BHVR to fix them and give us a playable game?
I'd much rather wait a couple of days so we can actually have a fun event instead of rushing it out of the door. Remember, they're humans just like you and I.
-
Easily Doctor. It's very fun to shock Survivors and watch them go crazy. His laugh is also godly.
-
I think it needs some tweaking. Currently it still rewards Survivors for making bad plays. It should deactivate upon interacting with something, when the gates are powered, or if the Killer downs another Survivor before the timer is up.
-
Hallowed Blight outfit for Doctor.
Freddy has the default outfit because I got a good build early on with him and I don’t want to start all over again.
Demogorgon isn’t ready yet. I’m going to prestige it for the P1 weapon and then use the Rift and maybe the Archives (not sure if you can earn Cells from the Archives) to save up 800 Auric Cells for the chained body and head (they did say you can make all of the Auric Cells you spent on the premium track back, right? Otherwise I won’t be getting the chained Demogorgon cosmetics).
-
It’s probably because of his build. Most of the complaints I see are against Freddys that also bring PGTW, DL, and Thana. Some of them are also using the rope add-ons instead of the Paint Brush + Swing Chains combo.
-
There’s a couple of reasons.
- The Killer has recently ran into multiple toxic Steves.
- The Killer hates Steve for whatever reason and always tries to kill them ASAP.
- The Killer is a hardcore tunneler and will tunnel all four Survivors to death. Probably gets hit with a lot of DS and BT.
-
More than one toolbox or key.
-
The only change that I wouldn’t mind is the BP bonus being removed from the perk and becoming baseline for all Killers. The aura reading is fine.

Keys:
-New action where key is inserted into the hatch and turned
-Turning the key fully takes 7 seconds for each survivor left alive when inserted (i.e. 14s if there are 2 survivors)
-Survivors can remove the key at any time, but that resets progress
-Once inserted, the killer is notified that the hatch is being opened (they are not told where)
-Opening the hatch makes a distinct sound audible up to 32m
-Killer can stomp on hatch to begin regressing the opening process (regresses 1 second of progress every 2 seconds)
-Once fully regressed, the key pops out of the hatch and sits next to it
-Once opened, key is consumed and hatch stays open until the killer closes it
-Once the killer closes it, hatch re-locks (unless there's only one survivor left)
The idea is to turn key escapes into an alternate escape route rather than an easy getaway. For instance, if you are 3-genned and there are only 3 survivors left. This could bring in some strategy, such as having 2 survivors keep the killer busy at the hatch while the 3rd finishes a gen. I'm on the fence whether hatch-grabs should be possible. Grab interrupts on the person opening it would be though.
Another idea for keys separate from above is to allow them to recharge passively while the survivor is in a chase. This would make their other function more useful.
Moris:
-Cypress: Unchanged
-Ivory: Only works on death hook survivor; final survivor can be mori'd anytime
-Ebony: Only works on death hook survivors; final survivor can be mori'd anytime
If this isn't enough, maybe add a requirement for a certain number of gens to be done before getting the mori's (3 gens for 1st mori, 4 for 2nd, 5 for 3rd, last survivor always able to be mori'd).
These are some pretty good ideas. I think your first Mori idea would work better because it would suck to distract a Killer for at least three gens only to get Moried when they finally down you and there is an achievement where you have to Mori all four Survivors. With your second Mori idea, the Killer would have to let all five gens get completed and then hope to go on a Mori spree. The last Survivor is most likely not going to stick around after they realize the Killer can Mori them and will leave the moment the door is open.
@Peanits You guys should take a look at these ideas when looking at adjusting keys or Moris.

Just as a reminder, no Blood Hunt has been announced. Please don't get your hopes up until we announce something. I really can't stress this enough, if we don't announce it, it's not confirmed.
Hold on didn’t you guys announce a Bloodhunt that started October 31st? Or was that the one that everyone thought was real but turned out to be fake?
-
Doctor, Freddy, and I’m trying to learn Demogorgon. I’ve also been thinking about trying to pick up Plague and Leatherface.
-
Seriously, more BBQ complaints? Dear lord it’s got at least three counters that do not require a perk or force you to play bad!
