When the mechanic is just based on 100% luck of coming across it and probably surviving the match, or by luck for the killer it's in a hard place to spot giving them an easy game you know it's a mechanic that doesn't work
it's 0 fun spending most games just wandering aimlessly around the map looking for the totem (don't get me started on the swapping to other dull totems) surely there is a better way to implement it to make it less based on luck/more interactive?
yeah. roaming generators, running in circle and destroying pallets is real joy. Try it instead

Timer is paused for 10 seconds = 10 seconds longer on hook.
Timer gains 10 seconds = 10 seconds longer on hook.

Survivors should be as fast as the killer when they are the last one and the hatch has spawned. If you're going to mention things I have said, please be sure not to leave out details that would make others think I meant something else. Yes, NOED is overpowered. I'm not the only person that thinks that or posts about it. Cannibal's chainsaw shouldn't instant down unless it become powered up first by doing other objectives to make it that powerful temporarily. Exit gate perks that do block the lever for so long that the survivor can die before being able to interact with it need to be changed. These are not unfair or bias opinions. These are suggestions that I really do feel would make this game more balanced and fair.
2 posts above +
NOED is OP, becouse you let it be.
Hexes get shred in matter of minutes. Boons thunders is heard a lot…but dull totems??? aint nobody got time for that

This solution can disincentivise hard camping.
If the killer is within 24m of a hooked survivor for more than 10 seconds while not in a chase the hook timer will decrease by 75%. This effect will immediately disappear the moment a chase begins with another survivor.
Hear me out,
Normally the timer for a full hooked state is 120 seconds when a killer is hard camping the timer will keep going normally and normally that doesn't make the game fun for anyone.
My solution is since DBD formula is based on additive if we were to decrease the hooked state timer by 75% after the 10-second mark. Survivors will gain an extra 90 seconds on a hooked state due to the idea of even trying to hard camp. so by formulating this the hooked survivor will gain a total of an extra 80 seconds on the hooked state which allows survivors to pretty much fully punish a killer just because of their hard camp and completely disincentivize the killer to even attempt camping without completely losing everything.
So in conclusion, if killers hard camp the whole game hooked survivor survival for a total of 200 seconds instead of 120 seconds but if played normally the timer will stay 120 seconds
yes. its called kinship
-
camping is legit as BM at exit gates.
3 survivors are free on gens.
If you get unhooked with BT and get downed 5s later…well…
-
Do you really deserve to die on 1st hook? I think you should address this question to the rest of ur team
Or swap to killer, as according to forums. If you dont have any friends for swf, then you must be a killer
-
1. Either deal with it
2. Play meta killers (meta perks and addons
3. Enjoy playing survivor for a week
4. Play something else. Cote recommended civilization, but i find europa universalis iv much better

Right.

Have you checked the suggestion & feedback section on forums? Killer rant everywhere
Only thing that will always be balanced in this game is ranting survivors : killers
Please do. Swap DH for SB and show them killers how lucky they were while u were DH.

Judith's Tombstone takes ages to set up. Tombstone Piece doesn't. You have to stalk 1.75 survivors and then you get a mori, as opposed to Judith's + Tuft (the only real way to run it) taking 3 full survivors, which usually requires some lengthy runarounds and doesn't let you coast off of the one stupid guy alone.
The difference between Piece and Rancor is that Rancor gives you the kill at the end of the game. Tombstone lets you stalk a clueless Meg, then turn around, find Elodie on another gen, and take her out of the game. A dead survivor at 4 gens is way more impactful than a dead survivor at 0 gens.
So what?
This is honestly BS argument.
Whats next? Survivors that want to participate in chases should gather in killer shack?
I also dont like it, when I play vanity mirror myers, and spine chill informs them that im looking at them through walls.
I think SC is incredibly broken and it deserves nerf
-
@Zachcjjj said:
the thing is tombstone myers shouldn't exist they should buff his basekit and maybe incorporate tombstone as base when the survivor is death hook or something but you shouldn't be able to insta kill a survivor you havent seen all game because their teammate fed you stalk and pig definitely does not need something that op although she definitely does need a buff
it takes sh*t loads of time to do all the stalking. Also each survivor have X amount od stalk feed, so with the gen rush + 3x engaging chase with obsession for play with your food….
I honestly think its not OP or broken.
But then the perk rancor which after gens done makes obsession expossed + mori; could be same issue as you mentioned.
Also the fact that with rancor I
achieved exactly that…felt sorry for Meg there
-
Heavily depends on mmr. But I agree with you
or swap bubba with huntress/trickster
-
You have there purple addon to decrease (10?) seconds on traps.
You can also try with a different approach. Save some traps for last 1-2 gens. Therefore you can focus only on jigsaw boxes.
Active trap = you cannot escape
Dont expect easy 4K, but your mission should have some satisfying endings

No I'm saying Dead Hard is more fun for survivors to use.
Dead Hard makes chases longer, and thus more interaction.
Sprint Burst prevents chases from starting, and thus less interaction.
They're very similar in strength, however the ability to stop the chase occurring instead of make it longer is imho even more frustrating.
Even if you decide to go after SB guy, u will eventually catch up and have easier chance to do mind games.
Where DH boosts you into 2nd loop or 2x window gyms…
The biggest issue is, chase is again prolonged for a price of a generator.

In fact, it would be kind of garbage if it didn't. It would make any use of it on a gen inside of a tile kinda pointless.
it is just what i wondered. Now I know. I dont see it as a problem tho. As depends on survivor itself, but the spine chill effect can engage you in your own paranoid mind games
-
I would only give it a try that after using DH for a short time frame it would disable ability to fast vault.
DH for pallets or avoiding hit i don’t mind at all.
And if you look at DH on lets say more open spaces/zones it is not an issue with waiting for that baited DH or faking it with m2 (depends on killer ofcourse)
-
It would be nice but might be quite broken.
That mori could be initiated every time ur downed.
0 hook = easy skill check(s) to counter
1 hook = medium skill check
2 hook = hard skill check
Completed skill check = ds effect

Bigger problem is franklin.

I mean you cant say it just like that…for messing around
You can try different perks, you see it works well. You stick with it (for some time).
With such apart hooks, potential luck or rng with dull totems, yeah…seems quite strong build.
In fact, to be actually really competative killer I only see plague and oni. With a lot factors involved.

Only McLean would really know the specifics, and he's gone.
I think it's a combination of two factors: the max camera sensitivity value during rush (or whatever you want to call it) of controller being ever so slightly too low and the sensitivity slowdown you experience when reaching the max look angle/turn rate (which doesn't seem to reset or ease up when you initiate a lunge), as well as the time it takes for said sensitivity to go back to normal when switching directions. Both of those reduce the possible angles you can get on controller compared to MnK.
It seems to be mostly the former now (sensitivity being too low), as Myla pointed out that 180 Z-flick is almost completely dead without third party exploits, which do need to be patched, if possible. From what I've seen and from what I can deduce from my own experience, it seems like McLean found a way to apply the hard sensitivity/angle restriction (idek when) on a lunge that controller has experienced since the first change (when Z-flicks replaced J-flicks back in May, and Blight became playable on controller), but they still have the advantage and can properly 90 around corners due to mouse input being superior, which isn't an exploit.
TL;DR If you see Blights doing 180s and turning kinda funny it's likely an exploit in the same vein that stretched res is an exploit. If they're just getting some 90s, they're on MnK (and I think that's okay). If they're coming out trying to do a 90 but barely miss it like in the graphic, they're prolly on controller due to the sensitivity being too low (same deal with Oni, that turn comes out waaaaaay too slow). Hug tech is up for debate...personally I like using it and it can be countered with good positioning a lot of the time, but w/e.
I play blight on controller - console.
And its what i mean. A lot of flicks are missed, and some tiles with hugh tech are quite impossible without drifting out.
So yeah, if as mentioned, you add a multiplying factor to sensitivity input, then it should help with 90 flicks.
Rotation addons dont help either.
Controllers should get some
love aswell tbf. yes i believe we are smaller part of community, but we do or did spend our money aswell to have some equal QoL
And indeed, I dont really enjoy console Oni, just as flicks are way harder then blights, and the 180 oni (look up while rotate) is a hard no go.

This isn't meta.
These groups are going in specifically to hold the game hostage so they can force you to DC (so you get a penalty) or force you to AFK (so they can all report you for non-participation).
If I recall, the devs confirmed that this was totally fine a while back because it's theoretically still possible for the killer to win somehow.
nobody said its meta, but possibly becoming.
its just as in last 2-3 days, i’ve met quite few different squads. the only way to win, i see as getting them always close to
basement (which idk how could you force a survivor to basement vacinity - since on other areas they are much safer as being slugged). or get them sabotage so many hooks so they deplete toolbox and hopefully dont have that locker restoration perk
tldr; only theoretical win i see is noed ..but still, odds are not in a favor
Kudos to them as they at least did the gens (rush) but yet i had to open doors to end the match.

E: As for Artist, she needs a rework. Any nerf will break her and make her feel awful to play (like Twins).
@MandyTalk I am sorry for tagging you. But is it possible to get official clarifications regarding illustration provided in quotation.
So is the PC flick intended mechanic or is it at this point “DPI abuse”. If it is intended, how come controller sensitivity is not optimized in the same manner. I belive as spinning sensitivity is really fast, so it shouldnt be any “code” that prevents it. And regarding the fix with simple logic is flick = controller sensitivity input * factor

No, I used to be quite consistent with Huntress. But when I faced better survivors who literally had unfair advantages because of in-game mechanics, I just stopped playing her. On console especially, I can't see survivors when they spin into me, so I either miss or I wait 5 seconds to steady the shot and still miss because they're moving faster than my thumb can. So her point-blank hatchet into another hatchet, one of her best strategies, is inaccessible because of bad fov and console controls. I'd have this conversation more often but clearly nobody believes me.
i play on console with 100% sensitivity.
I dont struggle at all.
Problem with huntress trickster is only that you cannot aim behind loops as pc can. and fine aim has to be done with moving left and right. survivors that are not brain dead will wiggle left and right so yes, even PC has to predict and zone
If bhvr gives us acceleration and deadzones settings. itll be much easier.
Justifications on why is half of the roster trash - becouse its above your skill level. I do not support this. As I do not support that NOED is OP, where if you enter with 4 hex perks they will be out in few minutes while nobody puts any effort to dull totems

BHVR can nerf completely all the perks, downgrade all killers for a tier or two. But at the end, day will honestly have to implement trapper AI from tutorial, as killer community will shrink even more

My point is that you still have options to 180 even without hugging using the method I mentioned above, and that's really unfair. I'm pretty sure console Blights can't do 180 flicks without hugging a wall too.
Im not sure if PC blight can do it still either. There was a nerf to J flick - locked to framerate

Very committed and long time Bligh main here, and I have to say, as much as I love doing it, Blight flicking is not fair for a couple reasonable. First of all, it makes most of the tiles unplayable for survivors, especially when running Blighted Crow.
Secondly, it put PC players "richer" (I don't mean rich people, just players who can afford to spend a lottle bit more than others) people at an advantage, let me explain: The first thing I mentioned is pretty easy, controllers can't do that, so if you're a console player you can't do that. The second reason is that in order to Blight flick (as far as I know) you need some specific features on your mouse, such as a sensitivity clutch and of course, only more expensive mice have that (since you also need a decent mouse software too). I'm currently using a Basilisk v2 with a button that higher my DPI only when and while it's pressed from 600 to 1200. I know that you could apply the same logic to PC components, that the better your computer is, the more frames you have, the better you can perform, but let's just not extend this privileges more :).
Console blight.
Hug tech - checked
Shack plays - checked
Side look before bump - checked
S flick - checked
180 around car or flick around LT - checked
moonrush - checked
lag flick - we cant. its also an ugly exploit
Did I miss anything?
Console is my personal choice, as many others fellow console players.
I am a proud owner and user of all playstation generations as it brings nostalgia.
Judging people on their income which represents console vs pc master race is just an absurd
and to be fair, blight flicks can be easily dodged. Running straight line or trying always to clip walls will end up in hit.
I also never understood, when you see blight bump for speed, before hugging car. Why stand still at pallet rather then just running away?
Landing those flicks is your fault and not blights exploit
-
I do soloQ aswell. Those who fall in 5s of chase are doomed souls. BT will prolong chase for 2s.
Idk what some are doing but clearly not gens. Either crouch walk, hide in lockers or “run along” in chases...
If you see that gens are not gonna happen…
BT, DH, spine chill/windows of opportunity, left behind.
A bit ego build, trying to survive and race killer to hatch
-
The game needs redesign of core, therefore, a lot of things will balanced out on itself.
Maps are big, but not drastically.
Safe/god loops should be a bit smaller, as it can take eternity to catch up survivor before dropping a pallet. In most cases they have a pricetag of a gen.
You cannot mind game it and its just spinning around until pallet drops and then it most likely links into second safe loop.
eg:
Red forest - trees log loops
Clipping for survivor is like a knife through butter, while killer can be stuck on each pointy pixel. That can also prolong chases.
Survivors 360 vs aim dressing: lunge attack are not viable. Once you lunge you get snapped onto surgivor location. While continuing spin, lunge attack gets completly missed. Therefore hug + m1 + spin with him is only method to get confirmed hit.
I honestly think that redesign of game core (focus on maps) would be biggest nerf to overall game flow.
more dynamic chases (swapping loops more often), easier hits for killers, more map pressure, and kinda preventing gen rush.
Spawning on gens:
Lets face it. It is possible and frankly quite often, that survivors can spawn in 2x2 on seperate gens.
I kinda find in my games that 1-3 hooks is always 1-2 gens trade. which hookwise i think its quite optimal play.
Preventing this early RNG, maybe there should be a intro objective for survivors - single job for whole “gen system”. As something that could delay gen start. Maybe connecting some fuses/cables. Getting fuel for a generator. Small choir just to let killer breath for small amount of time.
It is like increased time to do gens, but not for a specific gen. So gens keep the same time and also this choir can be done while killer has CI up and running
-
not to open another thread.
Map offerings, 90% of matches is auto haven.
Is it something that you only practice and know every inch of the map? Or just becouse of some “survivor sided” maps to be?
I am quite annoyed playing 1-2 map all the time. And no, my bloodweb doesnt even know the addon for neglecting map offerings
