What @Mooks quoted makes me wondering something.
It's written that tunneling isn't reportable, but "targeting specific users repeatedly in order to ruin their game experience" is bannable.
I'm not saying tunneling should be a bannable offense, as it seems to be a valid strategy. Not one we like to do/to face, but not bannable.
So, what "targeting repeatedly" means? How do we know if the Killer tunneled because they felt it was the only way for them to secure a kill or if they tunneled to ruin someone's game experience?
I'm talking about tunneling and Killer's gameplay, but I don't excluse the bannable offense being something a Survivor can do, but I have to admit I have no examples to provide... Following the Killer while clicking a flashlight? Following a teammate and being an annoyance (being on the way when they are chased...)?
What I think it means, if a specific killer (person A) ALWAYS goes for person B, and only person B and every round person A gets person B in his match. Persons C/D/E are not getting tunneled or camped, only person B.
That's considered griefing.
If the killer tunnels and camps person B/C/D/E no matter what, every round, and that's just his playstyle, I don't think that will be considered griefing since he's doing it to everyone.
-
This is just an thought I had the other day, but I think they either:
A) just booted up the game, saw it worked (started to main menu) and put it off without ANY match testing
B) they booted up the game, tested a few matches, and just released the patch anyway in the hope they would get away with it, like they got away with the things before the RE patch (like getting a frame drop when getting hit with sloppy butcher for example).
-
Now your topic is just getting bait at this point, no need to argue with this man/woman/whateverpronouncetheywant.
-
No it's not. It sucks when you're on the receiving end of it, but tunneling and camping IS NOT a bannable offense.
So I now know why your reports do nothing, since it's NOT against the rules.
-
Since it's an indoor map, I hate it with a passion. Every indoor map is just such trash imo.
RCPD map is just WAY too big for my liking and even after playing like 10 times on it, I still get lost so easily as killer and survivor. Survivor is hooked on other side of the map? Good riddance to your first hook stage if no one is near you.
You downed a survivor? Good luck finding a hook or even the basement...
-
And what unsportsmanlike conduct did they do? Maybe you just reported them because you got mad at them?
That will, indeed, not do much. If it's not against the rules.
-
I think, estimate, around 150-200 euro. That's PC and console and 5 years of playing.
Pretty got my money worth, if I may say so. But not planning on spending much more. Maybe 10 euro for the next rift pass if I complete it, since I got too low for a new one. But not more than 10 euro.
-
They should focus on the reason why the DC penalties were disabled in the first place. Who knows if the update tomorrow even fixes anything, I for sure won't keep my hopes up, looking at the past with their game.
But maybe we'll be surprised tomorrow and we get a working game again.

They already tweeted it on the main page, it's official, at least they'll give us BP and shards u know the typical
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/268407/nintendo-switch-update-5-1-0
They should just give those BP to everyone, since the console issues were there over a month (and maybe longer, who knows).
-
I don't really understand what the problem is?
-
The game itself. If the optimisation is not adressed in a good way.
-
I will when the game is stable enough that I can enjoy using them too. Don't want to use one and the crash halfway through the match and end up with nothing.

I think the rift comes with this patch if i’m not mistaken.
Yes, it does. Wednesday it will release.

Fair enough, but I haven't seen anything designed to break the game where most of the modding happens. It's always people just trying to be creative and have fun, which is why it's a bummer.
Like I said, the good people will always suffer from the people with bad intentions. That's life nowadays.
-
I don't get any hopes up for the 27th. I will, of course, install the patch, but won't play until the new rift is out. I will see how performance is on here.
I'm having more fun playing red dead redemption 2 now, since that game is way more playable then this game. I forced myself to play during the event to gather some cakes and the crowns, after that I just left the game until the next rift and bloodhunt.
If the game isn't working good enough after the mid-chapter, I will take another break and play a game that is working normally. And forget about the rift, too.
-
I don't feel any empathy towards modding players, especially those who do that to get an unfair advantage.
Maybe a few people use it to not get an advantage over others, but most of them probably will. And that's just dumb and needs to go.
And for the people that claim it's unfair that they get rid of modding because some people are taking advantage over others, that's life. Life is unfair. And the good people always suffer because of the bad people.

I get excited at the start, because I like to get cosmetics. About half way through the grind, though, I'm like, "Oh, yeah. I remember how brutal it is now," and it becomes a thing where I have to do my videogame chores whether or not I want to.
I have huge FOMO about it, because I missed the first few rifts, which were really good.
At least the fragment xp is reduced to 500xp, which makes it much better imo.
-
No, only the BP are nice. I don't read the lore that comes with the master challenges anyway.

I agree . Hopefully sorted next week
Don't get your hopes up though.
-
No, it's a legitimate complain at this time.
-
Even if you would want to link your Steam account, you can't. Since the site is under maintanence in like ages.

I use it to max out my objective points quickly, and so do my friends. I would guess as much that others are doing that as well.
I believe the balance of it is fine, the time it saves is very minuscule. 4 seconds with 2 people on a gen and less with more. So it saving 50 seconds is BS unless they 99 every single gen, or some gen regression kicks in like pop and ruin. Even then if you’ve regressed gens that much and not killed everyone, prove thyself isn’t your issue.
Honestly, the complaints about prove thyself are kinda unfounded, and the perk is just blamed when you do poorly.
Same, I'm using it for the extra easy BP too. Other than that, I don't think Prove Thyself is THAT good of a perk. Sure, it can save some seconds but I don't think it will make much of a difference during a match.
-
Don't you know? Some good ol' VHS porn.
-
But they also unlocked the special ultra rare cosmetics, like the Dwight head and Meg skin for everyone. So it's weird that, when they claim they unlocked them for everyone, those are not included.
-
No, I do see Iri head with the other ultra rare add-on, complemented with an ebony mori and huge camp and tunneling
-
I'm glad the new map is still not much in rotation, on ps4 it still runs like trash. Graphic wise the map is great, but the stuttering I get on that map is infuriating.
But the game can be really unfun at times. I usually take a break then and come back later. It can be refreshing to do that.
-
Do: Go outside
Don't: get in trouble
-
I watched a streamer who got the game. Looked promising and then I bought it myself and 5 years later I'm still playing it lol.
Too bad the streamer I watched stopped streaming like 3 months after that because of real life problems, never saw her again.
-
Leveled some characters, nothing special really. Didn't have a greater goal or something for this event, except getting the crowns on chars I own.
-
Yes, I'm burnt out on this game for now. I'm just doing some crown collecting on a friend's account, so that she has the crowns on killer (not that she plays killer much, but it's nice to have them).
After this event, I'm taking a break for a week until the bloodhunt. And after that, if the performance on ps4 is still trash, a much longer break.
-
@SnakeSound222 said:
It’s nice but also kinda disappointing. The big final reward for the event is just something that should have been active in the first place. I was hoping for something like a ridiculous amount of points (millions of BP and tens of thousands of shards) or enough Auric Cells for an outfit. You only get one 5th anniversary, make it crazy. Do things you would never normally do, especially with how horrible the event has been.
Agree with you tbh. Underwhelming reward.
-
Meh, was hoping for some better rewards but whatever. A good amount of gifted BP was better, since killer and survivor behavior is just trash during events and bloodhunts.
-
@Laluzi said:
Because everyone's suddenly getting double bloodpoints, or 525% bloodpoints, and we're all seeing just how much more livable the game is with it.
Though the grind has always been a topic. Cakes just throw it into harsh relief.
Well said :)
-
The rank update error is the most infuriating one for me. When you play a match (and there is like 4 cakes burned and you get a ton of points), only to get robbed because of that error, makes me want to throw my controller out of the window.
-
I agree. I also think they need to make it that a DC counts as a full 3 hook.
I got screwed out of an adept multiple times while I was on the edge to earning it.
-
You did the entity proud.
-
Yesterday I played against a Trickster. I was being chased at a loop. I got away from a pallet to get some distance (he was chasing me also away from a pallet), I got a huge freeze and suddenly he was next to me (and he walked into a wall). After that I got downed.
I saved the clip because I wanted to watch it later, and when that huge freeze happened ingame, the video just skips a bit and the moment I got a lagspike and he walked into a wall is just missing from the clip (I didn't edit it, he just out itself skipped that moment).
It looks like the game did something with the recording or the HDD died for a few seconds and then got back into recording.
-
I get Midwich also alot.
It's such a fresh breeze to get MacMillan or a corn map every like 100 games (exageration of course, but yeah).
-
@LittleSagey said:
ive gotten lery's so many times i had to stop playing blight and huntress :(
Yeah, it's so dumb you see so many Lery's.
And when I get an outdoor map, it's almost only Haddonfun and Osmond, with like 5% chance of a corn map or MacMillan... I'm so glad I don't use any cakes, since I'm so over getting almost only indoor maps and the 2 outdoor maps I just named.

my guess would be Perks that are not only terrible, but also cant be used in fun meme builds.
something like Deja Vu for Survivors and Monstrous Shrine for Killers.
Monstrious Shrine can be good on Basement Bubba though. Faster progress to the kill.
-
I just feel out the game and decide on the way if I will be nice or not.
If I get genrushed to oblivion and I get the chance to snowball the team in the end (because they just fall for my traps (as trapper) as flies), I kill all of them or just as much as I can.
If they don't genrush and I feel like I have a chance to can play nice, I will do it 100%. With events even more, since I experienced dumb behaviour before from others.
As survivor I do the same. If the killer just camps and tunnels right off the bat, I'm in no way going to play nice in return. If the killer plays "normal" (like, give everyone the chance at some points and the feeling I could do something) I will totally play nice too. Don't mind if I get killed in the end or not.
Occasionally farm matches I can enjoy too. It takes some pressure off and everyone walks away with some nice points.
-
And let us also earn trophies/achievements that way. When the game ever dies out, it would be nice if you can just get your remaining trophies that way towards the 100%.

I think it’s come to a point where BHVR can’t optimise current gen without doing rewrites of the code which they are not going to do
But just tell people that then, and remove the game from the store on those platforms. Don't let people pour money in it.
-
Survivors have [BAD WORD] behavior too, 5 cakes and a complete genrush, resulting in maybe 15k (with escape points) for everyone.
Or flashlight/flashbang/blastmine spam, also fun times.
Both ways have stupid behavior, you can't do anything about that.
-
While I think the 300k BP and 3k shards were a nice gesture, I agree with you it's too little, too late.
They released a patch, fully knowingly that it would destroy the console and low-end pc quality of gameplay. And they just gambled they would get away with it. But that's how I feel about it.
-
People report you for everything, so I don't think that's the reason.
Imo, it's dumb they disabled the add-on. Why get many on killers when you can't even use them. Waste of 3k points...

true it would be simpler for other platform user to see the person profile in some way in game
I agree with that.
-
Thanks for your answer. I tried that and I came up with a profile, but I don't know if that's the one. I don't want to falsely accuse someone, of course. They had a VAC ban on their profile, but that doesn't say anything.
