Got to milk your costumers for every penny they have, you know?

Not yet, but I'm taking a break since almost 2 weeks. I'm done with the stuttering on console and since the rift lacks content for me, I decided to take a break and play a game that is running smooth on my ps4.
I still like the game though, so I'm not ready yet to hang up the boots. But if they can't/won't fix console, then my breaks are getting longer and longer.
-
Nah, this game is lacking performance on current gen consoles.
-
I agree, DH is a dumb perk. Don't know how to rework it properly though.

Oh it's definitely going to have performance issues, especially if they don't include anything in the chapter patch to even try and fix the performance issues. After the hotfix the game is already almost back to it's unplayable RE state so I will be shocked if performance actually improves with this chapter instead of just going back to unplayable like it was with RE.
Maybe then it's time for me to hang up the boots with this game. I mean, they had 3 months time to fix it, still can't do it.
I still don't miss dbd from my break, so hopefully I can step out of the fog.
-
Maybe stand in the corner of the map next time and let the survivors do the gens in peace, you killer!
/sarcasm
-
Thank you again, Cashel :)
When I get back from the break I took from this game, I will look up this thread again to save me some juicy BP for the next anniversary :D
-
Then you're really one of the lucky ones, GenJockey. My ps4 is having constant stuttering on that map.

And I'll make another one next year.
Go for it. Maybe you can even do one this year, asking people to burn their Halloween offerings ;)

So many players would benefit from playing offline single player games with this attitude towards being entitled to DC.
Says the one opening 2 different topics feeling entitled to other people's their cakes.
-
Well, to be honest, the last time I played that map, the stuttering was still all over the place. It's only that map that's really having issues on ps4 (outside the freezes that occur when using certain perks and so on).
Only this map does it randomly without even something happening. You load in, start to walk and you stutter really bad already. So, I can't blame people for DC'ing on that map and move on towards a new game. And no, I don't think you're a crybaby or are entitled for leaving that map when it's not working properly. It should still be disabled and the devs should fix that map.

I've been playing Outer Worlds, just started second DLC. Played that and Borderlands 3 a bunch while DBD was unplayable.
Next time DBD becomes unplayable I'll be calling it quits. Performance just keeps getting worse. DBD has already been unplayable due to performance issues from patches twice now, one more and that'll be 3 strikes I'm out. The "only game of its kind" doesn't really matter if I keep being unable to play it due to performance issues. Back 4 Blood's Turtle Rock Studios has 125 employees and their beta with so much going on had 0 performance issues for me yet 5 year old DBD's BHVR with 600 employees can't get performance issues under control with 5 players and very little happening.
Ouch, well, that's just embarassing to be honest. How can a dev team with 600 employees not get a team dedicated to console health, you don't even have to hire a new team for that I think, dedicate a small portion of the dev team towards the console part of this game.
-
Seeing those clips from @ocafghanistan and reading the stories after the 5.1.1 patch, I'm so glad I took a break from this game (since the rift is really lacking good things this time).
And if I'm honest, I don't even miss this game at all. I thought I would have an urge to play it after a week, but I have not. I started up the game last week on tuesday, I couldn't even get bothered to get past the main menu and start up a game as killer or survivor. I just closed the game and played RDR2 instead.

I think they have the solution, and it’s do nothing until enough people upgrade to next gen. Then the problem is solved.
Until the game is optimised poorly again so that next gen consoles can't bruteforce through it also. Then the cycle goes on again.

So, since you seem to have the numbers, now much money did they make with the game so far?
Enough.
-
Like PC players are also that good at the game... the amount of pc players (and I know they are because of their names) that are trash too is not nice.
Just let everyone play the game how they want, don't bash console gamers pretending pc players are gods at this game. Because they're not.
-
Yes. The RE chapter really showed the cracks in the game's foundation.
In my opinion, they made enough cash to rewrite this game. I don't mind if they keep pumping out cosmetics in the meantime to get some extra cash to make the rewritten game, since I don't buy them anyway.
-
I find it also lacking. So that's why I'm not going to bother completing this one and therefor I'm taking a break from this game.

It has to be!
(idk who the artist is, sorry)
The artist is in the left bottom corner xD
-
Yes. A brown toolbox gives you better progress on a gen than no toolbox.
The fun part is, when you are last survivor alive, the killer closed hatch and you still can escape because the game gave you a purple key to open the hatch with xD

The thing is there are ways to mediate matchmaking and make it better the problem is Behavior is not trying to put the time into doing it.
BHVR does put time in stuff... that will make them money. The rest, they work on really slow.
-
Probably something to start a hypetrain, only to be underwhelmed by the result.
-
I don't really care about this mmr. On or not, the matchmaking is gonna suck anyway.
-
I fully agree. The grind is insane.
The event and bloodhunt just showed how abysmal the grind in this game is. Imagine being a player that just started and wants to unlock a few perks. BP log in gifts or codes expire as well, so good luck getting a few perks on a few characters if you don't keep up with the codes (and not every code is even tweeted by the DbD offical twitter as well, but are posted on a discord and THEN need to be posted on here too).
I wish they just did give out BP way more often. I mean, if you're too stubborn to change it and not going to remove perk tiers, at least give us something to work with.
I will not recommend this game because of how stupid the grind is getting with each chapter and then getting those new perks on all chars you own too. It's ridiculous.
But tbh, nothing is gonna change. Let's be real, they work so slow on this game, the first time we see anything change is when the game is 10 years old.
-
Yeah, I'm with you OP.
The rift is not good enough to get, so I just play other games until the new chapter. Taking a well deserved break from this game. The "event" and double bp burned me out.
-
And they're still too stubborn to even change the grind for the better. i don't get it.
-
DC.

I love you, I felt so alone in bringing Lightborn but a lot of people underestimate how powerful the aura aspect of it is.
It's especially more useful when you kick a generator that's been affected by Blast Mine because you can avoid getting blinded and find the little sh*t that did that to you.
I had a Jill ragequit when I kicked her blast mine gen and found her immediately xD
-
Probably in about 5 years, seeing how slow they are working on this game.

I think a lot of us look back with nostalgia, I was actually having this discussion with friends last night and we were going through our old screenshots etc of when we first started playing 5 years ago. A lot has changed, but I'm the type that loves change and appreciate that a live game can change regularly and I am sure it will change again in the future.
I agree some changes are really good, like the flashlight screen when you get blinded (from the bright white to what we have now). And some other changes are good as well.
But I disagree that everything is for the better. Some updated maps don't have the feeling like they had before their reworks, like coldwind and autoheaven. I think MacMillan was a really good rework though.
And I still don't know why they needed to change the HUD all of a sudden. The killers that were released after the HUD update don't have anything in their power that needed a HUD change, like they said in one of the streams.

Losing all progress. The idea of having to regain all the BP’s spent to get where I am now… Yikes.
Regardless of who’d be at fault, I’d just stay away from the game entirely out of spite should that happen.
This would it be for me too I think.
Other than that, I just take breaks now and then. This rift has nothing special in it for me, so I don't feel the need to grind the rift this time. So that way I can take a break from the game.
-
But when you give the survivors an easy game (while learning a new killer or whatever reason), you're still trash because it was "gg EZ".
Some people are just stupid and want you to follow a stupid rulebook. It's whatever, play how you want.
Sure, I sometimes get salty when I get 2 tunnel killers in a row, but the best I can do in that situation is to keep the killer occupied for a long time, or at least try that. But hey, the killer can also do what they want ingame since they play the game too. Neither I or the killer is responsible for the other side their fun.

It's literally at the end of the tweet: "With that, we’re shifting our focus to a bugfix patch for all PC & console platforms, currently planned for next week."
This was posted on the 2nd, so he's talking about the week that starts on the 8th. I'm calling the day because updates always come on Tuesday.
Considering it's a 2 week break between updates, it MUST be something related to optimization. Minor changes always come on the week after.
I'm sorry, I didn't read it correctly. My bad :)

Twitter. Can't find it right now but it was fairly recent.
Edit: https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1422225722542862336?s=20
That was the update for switch for last tuesday, not a patch for console in general for coming tuesday.

@GrimoireWeiss said:
Playing killer on Ormond is as bad as it was after the RE chapter. Everything causes the game to freeze on that map.
I hope the update on tuesday will make the game run better...
Where did they announce an upfate for this tuesday?
-
The patch fixed a lot of things, but not enough. The game is more playable for me on a HDD ps4, but the lagspikes when certain perks are activated are much worse pre RE-patch. Dead hard and sloppy butcher are the most noticable.
Things like a hook/unhook and a gen that gets completed are still causing lagspikes for me.
-
Before they were unable to get you your progress back, since the savefile was saved on your own computer. Now it's stored on their backend, so it could be more easily retrieved if necessary.
What happens if that also is lost, I don't know.
-
On console you can't put your settings to other graphics :(
-
Do you take donations in the form of items?
-
I think DBD has its fair share of people watching and playing.
To be honest, the game itself is really one of a kind for a long time now. I haven't seen much other games like this one (not counting the flopped games that tried to be somewhat like DBD).
-
Twins I almost never see. Plague and Billy sometimes.
Mostly Bubba, Spirit, Trickster since his buff
-
Only if you want to spend money on "cheap" cosmetics.
-
I haven't noticed a really big difference between pc and ps4, but I will look better next time I can play on pc and on ps4.
-
Thanks once again for this. You're a saving BP legend nowadays haha!

Too many people were being selfish last week & I was barely seeing any cakes being used near the end of the event, but this time around there's even more of a reason to use cakes since the profit will be even greater. Please, think of the community & cough up the confectioneries.
Since you feel so entitled to other people their cakes, I'm going to burn zero and will leech off others their cakes.
-
I don't know. Maybe I'll play during the Bloodhunt and then put away the game again for the next patch, if they don't fix it. RDR2 runs so smooth compared to this game, it's ridiculous.
-
Expect some more "Trickster is OP" threads anyway.

It's way down at the "Other" section:
- Fixed a lot of Hitches when loading some Hud icons during Gameplay
- Various crash fixes
