no i listed so many builds and they are all playable?

here is another one one of her purple addons starts off with all survivors with a claw trap so an instant lethal pursuer starting the match which is perfect for any chase build

That sounds like a fabulous and fun solution (being sarcastic heh) Just DC, get a long lock out possibly, or just don't play your preferred role. :c

I don't like ditching teammates because of this. Nor would I want a penalty. Now, I've so much free time I can play all day, but still, I don't like these long matches either. They're boring.

I don't have a solution to them, in the end I do end up winning most of them in soloq, but they're still a snooze fest.

People want something more engaging, cmon now.

but she is engaging i would argue she is the most versatile killer build wise in the game

I open DbDLeague Discord and head over to the balance sections. Look at what is banned and ask myself why. If there's something that can be exploited, comp players will find it.

thanks for the link always appreciate another place to look for ideas

Was mentioned before but want to put the spotlight on RedsGamingGears again

Superchill dude that will happily explain things. Also someone who doesn't fall easilly to the mob mentality that kinda plagues the dbd community.

Imo one of the better content creators out there

Also small shoutout to Bazazell. Haven't watched a ton but so far he's also a very chill dude that isn't afraid to explain his thought process. Also very creative with his builds

    totally agree with redsgaminggears

bazazell havent seen yet...any killer he specializes in or survivor builds?

  • @EvilSerje said:

    I'd add more:

Naymetti - great survivor looper, explains his every move and decision, very chill.

RedsGamingGears - killer that always explain tactic and decision making, very helpful

Greyletters - chill funny dude, nothing educational though

    SAOGonza - chill Artist main

    Negoose - chill Plague/Hag main

One Pump Willie - well, you know which main he is :)

Michi - super skilled Hag main, extremely educational for Hag enjoyers

Snorlaxt / LittleSpaceRock - chill cute girls, former one can be educational

    About ones mentioned before:

Truetalent complains a lot. I cannot stand the grown up man constantly complainng like snotty 10 yo kid. He is nostopping about unfair life for killer.

Scott Jund is a funny little guy, but definetely not the greatest player, could be watched just for fun, definetely not taking for granted all his "know-it-all" "podcasts", or you'll be haunted by "disgusting Hag music" or "terrible Knight design".

King Wolfie 2 - not chill, angry (trying to appear) and camp/tunnel a lot.

RedsGamingGears seems pretty chill and informative been liking his humor

michi is fun...we need more hag players

negoose is one i am especially interested in since it is a plague player

the others i will give a sample...much appreciated

forgot to add deadplays for an entertaining watch

kingwolfe 2 plays it up for entertainment value he says so as much on his knight winstreak videos which is kind of what monto does which is where the comparisions came in.

  • @HugTechLover said:

You wanna learn blight, go watch Lilith Omen and ask questions about anything Blight. He’s stopped mid game during winstreaks to show people different techs and knowledge.

thank you...seeing some of his blight tech angles to hit are insane (like watching a pro pool player use that geometry knowledge haha)

For killers, I tend to look for smaller streamers who specialize in that killer. For example, I didn't know Wesker was capable of half the things he can do until I found Alranican and ScooteyBootey. Most of the larger content creators are generalists.

Survivor is a bit tougher. I don't really look to Twitch or youtube for that one. 99.999999% of people who stream survivor gameplay aren't looking to be optimal in chase or objectives, so it doesn't really help my playstyle.

thanks for the input always looking to improve my wesker play

yeah looping survivor mains are more difficult to find usually jrm or aryun are brought up

When it is applied, it does help sneak up on survivors that you arent already chasing if they havent cleansed it. Just helps account for stealth in many areas. On top of that, it create another objective for the survivors to do.

fair enough i have been playing a stealth stbfl style by chaining drone auras to stay oblivious and then chase survivors with the brown addon (dissolution) and exhausted effect addon.

still will try this out thanks for the input ^_^

Go back two weeks ago and this forum was flooded with complaints from *killers* about her. How weak she is, how basic, how frustrated they are at the devs, and how they aren't going to even buy her (and evidently they're not - I'm not seeing alot of people playing her). It's interesting that this narrative has now become all about how survivors are receiving her, how survivors need to learn to outplay her, when BHVR has had a huge influx of negative feedback from killers too. So maybe you got what you wanted, but it doesn't feel like the general community did.

the knight was also received in the same way and now look at the 3 gen knight complaints mixed in with the merchant...anything new and seen as op are knee jerk "nerf immediately" not "lets give this a chance and learn how to deal with the new killer".

pretty sure survivors have learned how to adapt out of necessity and game knowledge/skill

  • @DragonMasterDarren said:

If the devs wanted to make SM a trap based killer, they forgot to make the "traps" do anything of actual use

Trapper's injure and immobilize survivors for a while, Hags scare the ######### out of people and let her teleport across the map

SM's Drones are basically useless against healthy survivors and literally useless against injured survivors

Not only that, but Trapper and Hag's traps have the benefit of being pretty hard to spot, SM's drones can be seen from across the map by a one-eyed infant with cataracts and glaucoma, meaning that any possible stealth benefits go out the bloody window

She is not a trap-based killer, she is a 3-gen based killer, end of story

survivors dont disarm the traps? paired with the brown addon that gives dissolution value or the hindered effect they are actually quite good as traps not to mention when you chain them together to keep the survivor oblivious as you go from drone to drone perimeter. playing her that way is like a tinkerer value most of the match...try it out

Her drones don't have much lethality, but her add-ons weirdly address her problems. By that I mean her drones should be something that buff her or debuff survivors when she deploys it well and, therefore, gives her an advantage in chase without necessarily being lethal on its own.

For example, the build I have most success with, since I like to utilize stealth, involves using Adaptive Lighting and Brown Noise Generator with Hex: Plaything and any other perks. Stealth and tracking are pretty great together, and she absolutely can act on the information she gets with the stealth as it makes it easier to sneak up and get cheeky hits on survivors during loops, or at points they were not expecting. As long as you know how to move unpredictably when the survivor can't tell where you are, you can hit them when they least expect it. This build is my favorite, has been pretty successful for me and, from my experiences, shows that she can do more than just holding 3 gens.

She even has other add-ons that help her even more during chases with her drones, such as faster lock-on time, or giving her haste and increased break action speeds, among other things. Tbh, I think some of the add-ons she has should have been given by default in order to give the killer more strategy options. However, I suppose utilizing the specific add-ons for builds is part of the strategy. Other strategies I've had success with when using her drones for tracking and buffs or debuffs involves using totem defender builds, skill check builds, and slower healing builds.

Again, just from my experiences, she seems like she can do far more with her drones than simply camp 3 gens. However, most people will always choose the option that takes the least effort and works. It's like tunneling, you can't make it go away, but you can give players more options so they don't feel like they have to do it.

does hex plaything actually give you value since you can make the survivor oblivious with the drones already?

  • i still think the iri matchstick addon as base kit would be the fairest nerf to nurse...1 blink and she has to respect pallets in exchange for a faster walking speed and the blink can still be used to mindgame.

  • @Digfish said:

My go to is just: Lithe, Windows, Open Handed, and Bond. And I bring a medkit with 3 heals. I primarily play solo, and even with the HUD, this build just helps me know where to go and what to do. And it turns a bad looper like me into a mediocre looper.

However, if I want to just gen-rush hard (usually for a tome challenge), I bring Streetwise, Built to Last, Fast Track, and Inner Healing. Along with a commodious Toolbox with the wire spool and socket add-ons. Sometimes I'll throw on Prove instead of fast track or IH, but you pip less running prove, so I prefer to solo gens.

didnt know that prove does not help to pip as much but i guess it makes sense since you are sharing the gen points with another survivor

  • @C3Tooth said:

Im not going to use my 2 hours of gaming for 3 matches of DBD.

so you dc or just not play survivor?

  • @MrPeanutbutter said:

That’s similar to the survivor build I prefer as well. I love Fogwise in solo queue, as it helps me be more efficient on gens and get a head start on leaving the area if the killer is headed my way. I usually prefer Lithe to Sprint Burst. Instead of the “utility” perks you mention, I like to bring CoH. So many survivors don’t bring any way to heal themselves, I usually see my team get some value out of it.

lithe is pretty fun but there are times when there isnt a close pallet or window by a gen and i prefer the headstart with sprint burst to reach a loopable tile. taking the aggro is important if the killer decides to chase me and i try to buy as much time as possible

coh is technically a utility perk ^_^

you are right about fogwise being a godsend in solo queue (comboed with windows and tenacity it more than makes up for efficient gameplay)

a broken outdated addon for noobs that deletes any kind of fun or chance Survivors may have in the match

in a pvp game this cannot be allowed to stay same idea was with iri head and pinky finger and those were less bullshit addons than tombstone.

i am surprised tombstone has stayed in the game as long as it has to be honest

  • @Kedasa said:

Why are so many here complaining about cob and overcharge stacking? if the killer is 3-genning and your mates have some brain so they are focussing another gen instead of the one you were working on, you just can tap the gen, hit the skillcheck (not very difficult) and you will easily make more progress, because even at the maximum of cob + overcharge (which is after 30s) it is just as fast as one survivor repairing and if you really need so much time to tap a gen...its your fault.

Be aware, while you are working on a gen, if you see the killer or hear his tr just get off the gen. Wait until he kicked the gen and go back to it, because the killer has to go back to the other gens. What regression do we have in that case? 5%? Eazy repaired within a few seconds.

the only reason i bring up the stacking is that it might be seen as to op vs newer survivors (the ones who cant hit the skil check and dont go back to tap the gen).

i agree with everything you commented on except to be wary about sticking around the gen in case the killer has nowhere to hide and the survivor is without distortion(and not good at looping)

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/367781/lets-discuss-skull-merchant-knight-3-gens-are-not-hard-to-counter-just-adapt

You're absolutely right my friend, but you're fighting windmills here. People tell you it's impossible to beat 3gens because they don't have the skills. People refuse to adapt because they wanna play with their fun perks but expect an ez win at the same time. And if they have a match that lasts longer than 10 minutes, they're mad because they want to get back into the lobby simulator asap. People act like they're playing every match against a hardcore 3gen enjoyer. Then they should have learned by now how to counter it, right?

By the way, you forgot about Blast Mine and Prove Thyself. A 3gen can also be broken very well with this. BNP isn't even necessary, I never play with it.

I'm a Solo Q veteran and strangely enough I don't have any issues with 3gens either. The only thing that kills me is incompetent mates, but I've gotten used to that now.

When people say it's impossible to beat an SM or a Knight, I can't take them seriously. The truth is that a lot of people don't like the gameplay of these killers per se, and that's a point. If you don't like 3gen tactics, that's ok, complain. But don't pretend these tactics are op and not beatable.

you are right i forgot to put blast mine which is a great time waster against gen kicking perks (and if the survivor decides to hide around the gen gives them time to run away). prove thyself is good vs knights/merchants/twins when people should be grouped up in pairs but more situational against say a legion or plague where you want to seperate and finish gens alone.

i know about solo hell believe me and it has improved with the new hud...having bad teammates who refuse to adapt and learn are just growing pains but they will only get better as long as they try and not just dc vs the killer early in the game (even against that "impossible" 3 gen scenario)

  • @FilthyLegionRevival said:

I'm a speed freak so I fell in love with Legion, Blight and now Wesker.

I used to be a Claudette main, then Meg because of the mask and well... I like stabby gang. Now I main Bill because I wanna be the glue that keeps the team together by taking hits and letting myself go if it means the rest get out.

true to the bill lore...surprised you didnt list billy for speed as he was the original high mobility killer along with wraith

  • @Xernoton said:

I think they can't do another 6.1.0. That would not help with the core issues some of these killers have. Myers for example is simply outdated. He was not designed for this game. He was designed for 2017 DBD, which was a very different game.

More addon passes and also base kit reworks / buffs are probably the way to go for most killers. Though, even then you won't make Trapper an A-tier killer.

and he shouldnt be but the difference between him and even a b tier killer is immense...to steal @NerfedFreddy idea low tier killer should get bloodlust quicker to compete and it would not affect higher tier killers at all while being easy to implement

  • @BlueRose said:

Personally, I love SM bc she not any killer we have in the game. I like the idea of an info killer who can use their power to find survivors. I get the complaints tho, stalling a 3 gen game for 30+ mins isn't fun and not healthy for the game. I just don't know what they could do to keep her an info killer but nerf her 3 gen issues. I know I have been playing her with a full chase build(no gen regression or info perks). Some of my fav perks on her are Bamboozle, Dissolution, STBFL, and Superior Anatomy. I have more perks I like running on her and want to test out more but I really enjoy having free info built into her kit and using that to get in chases faster. At the end of the day tho the easiest way to play her is sitting in a 3 gen at the beginning and stalling the game which ppl find boring. I just don't know how they could nerf that part of her gameplay without hunting all the other parts of her kit.

there are honestly so many variations that can be run...a full hex build with drones guarding the hexes, a chase build with drones forcing surivors to run away like the knight, an impossible skill check build with her addons, etc. it will be interesting to see what other people think up (i am pretty sure the cob/overcharge meta will be nerfed soon)

Killers definitely have not adapted to DH. Literally just yesterday I've seen at least 20 different comments complaining about DH and various us v them threads about the perk.

You have a point with adapting to different situations but please don't use a false example as a point of contention.

i obviously dont speak for other people who play killer but each person adapts at a different mmr base...you either grow as a player and try new things or just stay at the current level (which is fine as long as the player is happy)

using the same logic i can say survivors havent adapted to avoid getting tunneled because i see those complaint threads as well...even though it is possible to run a complete anti tunneling build

skull merchant and knight have no mobility. you can pre-shift w from generators. if they commit to you, they lose. if they do not commit to you, you can chip at generator and gen regression is slower then progression.

exactly this...it is just chip away at the gens and run away preemptively

  • @Blueberry said:

Yeah I’m not sure where these mythical unbreakable 3 gen games or 3 gen games that last an hour are as I never see them. I play way more than the average person and solo queue at that and these games are nearly non existent. I can’t even remember the last game I lost because of a 3 gen.

I think people lost a lot of matches that have a 3 gen because they or their team are playing bad and instead of taking accountability for skill issues or bad choices it’s easier to just blame a 3 gen or gen kick perks as why they lost.

This mythical 3 gen issue is honestly a boogieman that doesn’t realistically exist. It can happen here and there, not saying ever, but rare enough that it really isn’t a problem.

they happen but it is down to survivors rushing gens without strategy and they end up giving the killer the pressure...dbd has always been about the killer capitalizing on survivor mistakes. you either run deja vu or do every other gen not all the gens on the same side of the map

the only killers that can start a match and defend a 3 gen are trapper (debatable) hag maybe doc and obviously knight and the merchant but non of these killers has the lethality that makes it hopeless unless there is a snowball effect.

  • @Phasmamain said:

The only real advice here is bring perks but even the likes of potential energy can only do so much against Call of brine and overcharge

Change them and I doubt merchant and knight would be oppressive in any real way

it is cob with overcharge stacking it should be one or the other honestly

  • it is cob with overcharge stacking it should be one or the other honestly

  • @AverageKateMain said:

Please spare me the whole skill issue while throwing in DH combo. That's old. You definitely have a point with people dcing against the new killer but you're intentionally ignoring the core issues with the last 2 killers that people have been talking about in length. The main issue isn't their chase potential or whatever. It's the fact that they lock down areas and games that would be at most 15 minutes because 30+ minute games.

Knight was literally complained about because he has the ability to hold a 3 gen so long the servers will end the game. The problem isn't with zoning killers moving people out of loops. It's the fact that the core game is so unbearably bad with the gen speed that killers who lock down areas can hold games for way longer than it should.

and there are perks to stop 3 genning i made a whole new post listing them after playing against knights and merchants most of my weekend...it is all about adapting and using the same gen rush strategies that are prevalent

the dead hard comparision is to show that killers have adapted to dead hard and survivors just have to adapt to a new gen rush mentality versus 3 genning

  • @HugTechLover said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3369679#Comment_3369679

I’d go as far to say it isn’t even that. It’s the layout of gens. So many maps have an extremely tight 3 gen that is soooo easy to defend from one central location.

true but that is the games rng for you haha

  • @TheSubstitute said:

Generally, survivors should be breaking a 3 gen as soon as they log into the match or die trying. Either the match becomes winnable or you end the match in a reasonable amount of time.

That said, that's not what regularly happens in most matches or is considered since many people ignore the meta strategy and focus on the micro (looping, etc).

Since it isn't considered that often my opinion is that perks like Deja Vu, Potential Energy and Built to Last. They're quite often ignored and especially so if the survivor just wants to loop or flashlight save instead of doing gens but they're invaluable in breaking 3 gens. Considering how often 3 gen situations are popping up those perks should be looked at again.

Of course after there will be complaints about gen rush builds but I can't think of a time I've played when there wasn't a complaint about gen slowdown perks or strategies and simultaneously complaints about gen rush builds.

yes 100 percent your first 2 sentences...survivors only make the game as long as they want them to be. attack the problem headon...how is it different from previous gen rushing strategies?

if people want to have fun looping/bodyblocking/saboing/flashlight saving then that is on them

i would like to see gen rush perks stacking like hyperfocus with tenacity to be looked at as well

  • @Phasmamain said:

So basically, you have to be in a very coordinated SWF to break a 3 gen. All you’re doing is showing how strong a 3 gen is and impossible to break as a solo survivor

no you can do it as a solo as well the hud information is right there...when not in chase do the gen if chase is dropped(looking at the hud) run away from the gen

  • @Xendritch said:

I wish I knew where all these 3 genning SM's and Knights are because I wanna see if it's as bad as everyone says it is. I've only faced a few of either killer this week and the worst thing anything of them did was a SM that camped basement.

i honestly dont think it is as widespread as people believe

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

No, it is almost impossible to break 3-gen againts SK or even Knight. I played few matches with this playstyle myself and sometimes I even ended the game sooner than I had to because I felt bad and it was just really tedious and boring game at that point (around 30+ min).

There are streamers, SWF group(s) who have thousands of hours in this game and they are rly good in this game and even they have rly hard time dealing with this.

it is just a war of attrition in the end 4 vs 1 not saying it is ez mode but eventually one side wins

  • @HugTechLover said:

I get where you’re coming from, but the issue is that when somebody using the SM with a 3 gen build, holding a 3 gen from the get go, the games last FOREVER and it’s beyond unhealthy for DBD.

If they want to add a killer like SM, by all means. But the 40-50 minute 3 gen games have to change.

it isnt the killer in all fairness it is the gen regressing perks being able to be stacked that makes it opressive

Pulling 8 hooks as killer on decent survivors before finishing anyone off. It's least optimal playstyle but to be able to win with it requires lot of skill.

it is just so hard to be able to do that once you reach a certain mmr though but yeah 8 -12 hooks is pretty skillful.

You could do several things to make Trapper-kun at least viable and more fun to play.

    1) and this is a no-brainer, the thin grass should be replaced with thicc grass on all maps.

    2) let him start with 3 traps, but maybe leave the max at 2 once he placed those traps down, ie he starts with 3, but can't pick any traps up unless he is at 0 or 1 trap, up to a max of 2.

    3) let all the traps start in rather beneficial spots and already primed, as if Trapper had already stalked out the map. Like around shack corners, under windows or on the tipping point of loops.

    4) the traps should automatically match the environment somewhat. Especially on the Eiry the traps stick out so much that Trapper is basically playing without a power.

    5) disarming a trap shouldn't be just a couple of seconds timewaster thats for free, it should at least involve a skill check with the possibility of getting wounded and/or trapped.

    6) give Trapper-kun some kind of magical retrieval mechanic. I know that he is supposed to be a non-mystical slasher killer, but he has fallen so much behind and in todays day and age he has no time to run around the far corners of the map to pick up a map, so "the Trapper can target any trap and press the second ability button to magically pick that trap up. This ability has a 90s cooldown."

I fully believe that with this changes Trapper would be much more fun to play and would still be far from OP or oppressive, but at least our power boi would see finally some more play. Right now he is so miserable to play on most maps.

i agree with all of these but 3 might be seen as opressive they could be a base kit iri with say a minute in between resets but not already in optimal paths.

still those are some damn good ideas.

I still say if an injured survivor steps into a trap they should be put in dying state and give trapper his coffee grounds add on as a basekit to boost him for using his power like the knight when he places a path for his guards.

Unfortunately that is just something that the devs need to work through - it's going to be impossible to properly balance killers if the maps they play on aren't balanced themselves. It's what I think is the biggest issue DBD has. If maps were balanced, making changes to killers would be much easier and straight-forward. It would not be hard at all to just nerf the high mobility killers if they overperform if maps were changed.

how would you nerf the high mobility killers? blight might get less rushes, wraith might not be able to stack speed addons, but what about say nurse?

Make bloodlust exclusive trait of m1 killers, anti-loop killers don't need that, they are already strong and should rely on their powers instead of w-gaming

    that's your buff

how soon would the recieve bloodlust in a chase?

50 minutes game agains't 3 genning nurse she refused to leave them and only went for hits. Eventually she managed to kill my teammates as they were repairing gens injured and were almost done with one gen but failed. I ended up finding hatch but that game was just way too long.

was it the old nurse or the new nerfed nurse?

I'm not actually sure, way back I went to bed after a killer had already kept me blocked in a corner for 40 minutes and all I know is that it was over by the time I got back up from bed, as I just kept it running while going to sleep for a laugh.

So at the very least 40 minutes, at most closer to 9 hours. I'll never truly know the truth.

you left it on to spite them haha

The longest match i've ever played was 45 minutes, I was Spirit on Gideon Meat Plant, Survs do the first 3 gens pretty quick, but i kill two of them also pretty quickly, then the other two survs spent nearly a hour hiding and rotating between lockers,

I bled them out purely out of spite

i still think it is ridiculous this can happen if no objectives are being worked on

    Somewhere around that yeah.

I'm stubborn as ######### so I won that war. His Xbox overheated and shut off.

    what about your system/pc?

Keep at it! He’s super fun once you get some skill down.

    thanks for the encouragement

right now i have been using a compound 33/adrenaline vial pallet breaker hubris chase build not sure if i should add endurance/pallet fury or if that would be overkill

Those addons are almost kinda busted together. You win if they throw the pallet. You win if they dont throw the pallet.

Legion should have been given Iri button base kit considering what Blight gets base kit.

yeah with enduring/spirit fury it actually makes legion powerful...enter frenzy and call their bluff and swing.

if you get the hit great if not jump the pallet with julies mix tape/break it with iri button and hit the survivor cancel and repeat if they reach another pallet. if not cancel and get your down.

you can do a similar strategy with wraith and his fast break addons which works better with enduring/spirit fury/hubris

i recall billy having a chase build with pighouse gloves and hubris but i am not sure about the build

most of the people I know also play dbd so talk is riddled with dbd references and phrases. But a few phrases make it at least to thoght-commentary. Skill issue being one of them as well. "Doing a Blendette" is another one, "Meg things" as well and whenever I'm in the presence of people who for one reason or the other are not a great fan if the "oh my god" kinda exclamations/phrases I often opt for replacing the religious word with "Entity". Idk if its a dbd specific thing but "strong" and "boosted" get used a lot as well. "X is crouch-walking/slow vaulting" is also a common reference to people being slower than makes sense. There are probably more but they don't come to mind atm.

what is doing a blendette? I dont think i have heard this one lol
