What's the issue? Optimal survivor play? Games shouldn't be lasting more than 7-8 minutes anyway. Survivors aren't playing well if the gens are up past that point. Bad survivors have skewed expectations for people over the years. 12 hook 10 minute games should never be possible, but they often are.
7-8 minute games? i wish that was the case i would never complain again
-
The point is that you only chase 1 survivor at a time, and survivors are aware of this so its not a huge penalty for not healing

I mean the killer who's called annoying. The one who survivors call lame and no skill and unfun to play against. To name them Spirit, Hag, Freddy, PH, Slinger, Doctor, Legion those ones I hear the most as annoying. Personally I main Hag. So do you main a unpopular killer?
I recently played Blight for a few games and its alot of fun, but unfortunatly it the most loopable killer in the game imo so ditched him unfortunatly. Then i saw the stats of red rank killers and he was the worst killer at red ranks and i immediatly understood why.
If he would be not so loopable, i would main him for sure

GEt twins, she's fun and new. But mediocre killer, still ik think they get a buff in the future

Like i don't understand that playstyle.

Killer complained that self-care was too OP a long time ago, and to combat this, the developers instead nerfed healing altogether.
Now killers complain that survivors don't heal enough.
You win some, you lose some. Do you actually stream? I'd be very interested in seeing your killer gameplay.
No i dont stream anymore, but you can watch my older work ;-)
-
SWF yes, but also the no-heal-genrush-ds-user. Like holy #########
-
I wouldnt mind the cost of the skin beeing that much if trapper was a top tier killer, but he's not so i dont play him much on red ranks. Skin would be most of the time in my wardrobe anyway
-
I dont have to prove you wrong, you're right. Its either ######### on or get ######### on. Just like life itself

@kazka said:
i think this would be a really cool idea, but make it an optional playmode. as already mentioned, you'd be screwed if given perks you know you don't work well with. but at the same time it'd give you access to perks you probably never even thought about using and could potentially offer new favourites. much like the shrine of secrets section, it could also help promote characters that players are yet to unlock, because we see the perks, we can read them, but are they as good as they seem when in game?
Its not about beeing screwed but more about another ussual playstyle if you get different perks. Its just an idea to counter meta perks

That's the thing no one faces 4 ds every game - he doesn't show you every game he plays. As a red rank killer I sure don't see 4 ds every game, rare when I even get ds'ed and I even go looking to get ds'ed at times to get it out of the way.
True, but 3 or 2 is too much depending the time on the match. Heck, even one can be determined on either a win or a loss somethimes.

I'm a red rank killer since 2017/2018. Not sure what you're on about.
Yeah you already told us that. You're not sure what you're on about, you have no idea what the reasoning is of the idea. Should we explain the meaning of life while we at it?
-
@SilentHillOnDvD said:
Be grateful you get 10k bloodpoints everyday
Which contributes 0.00001 of your total progress in the entire game
-
@Yamaoka said:
What's his reasoning behind that idea ?
If you play a killer at red ranks and you face 4 ds every single game, you'll find the answer
-
Just abduct him "5head"
-
- IF victor is on a survivor they get deep wounds timer, this way he can't get abducted like they do now
- Let Victor be able to jump stairs
- Let his pounce be a basic attack
If we start wit hthis it will be alot better

I’m really sick of the lack of grey matter between survivors heads since the introduction of Undying.
Here’s a typical summary of how dumbly frustrating a lot of my matches are since Undying:
- Test first gen to see if Ruin is in play. See how I and the other survivors go in doing repairs, and how well the killer can pressure gens before determining if Ruin is too much of a nuisance, and needs to be deliberately searched for.
- Expect that Undying is most likely being used, cleanse dull totems as I go until finding a hex to reduce number of hex transfers.
- Cleanse first hex I see. Yep, Ruin is still up, most likely because of Undying.
- Continue to search and cleanse until I know from the count in my head that we are down to only 1 (or 2 totems left).
- FIND A HEXED TOTEM IN PLAIN SIGHT, RIGHT NEXT TO/NEAR A COMPLETED GENERATOR!!!
So this was a dull totem the other survivors totally ignored, thus allowed an additional transfer of a hex because of Undying, thus contributing overall to additional wasted time.
Please, Zombie Jesus, stop ignoring dull totems when a hex is up!!! Until a hex is found cleanse the damn dull totems. That way at the very LEAST, if Undying isn’t found first, hex transfers are either LIMITED or DON’T OCCUR AT ALL!!!
You can't cleanse if you rush gens "5head"

Are you implying that Killers stopped playing because they cant switch in the Lobby anymore?
One of the many reasons, yes

Survivors, would you like to shorten your queue by having the killer choice enabled in lobby again? Or do you rather get dodged cause of killer tactical reasons?

At first I had a lot of fun with the Twins, but as you get higher in rank it starts becoming a sweat fest, and it's not hard to see why. All the power is in Victor, but if you play as Victor none of the perks that you have equipped apply.
Tericho uploaded a recent video talking about this, and he had a similar experience that I did where perks like Tinkerer went off, but I had no way of knowing because I was using Victor at the time. Charlotte has no power at all, so naturally you're incentivized to use Victor as much as possible. Simply put, I think there needs to be more of an incentive to use Charlotte. Maybe kicking Victor should be a high-risk, high reward situation where if you kick Victor, Charlotte goes into an enraged mode like Oni where the kicker is exposed for 20 seconds. But at the same time if you kick Victor, it also benefits the survivors because it increases the amount of time for Victor to respond back into Charlotte.
I don't know. Either way I think there needs to be a buff with Charlotte because as it is playing a game with the Twins means that half the time you don't get to reap the benefits from any perks, and that's rough.
I play her alot, in fact i almost finished evyer single perk on them. But she heavely relies on meta perks cause she they don't have time to do anything else.
Its a snowball, slugg killer yes similar like trapper snowball. But there are so many things wrong with their playstyle that a few tweaks could make this the best killer in dbd when it commes to mindgames. (even better then spirit)

Also no more downs ever because even a 10% movespeed boost would make downs practically impossible on most maps.
Being injured is intended to make it much easier to kill you, not harder. Tunneling is an intended gameplay feature with innate counterplay in the form of A: it causing a lack of map pressure, and B: the killer suddenly having to go do something else after getting the hook or losing.
The penalties for being injured are: 1 hit away from down, leaving a trail that makes many evasive tactics not work, being unable to safely do many pallet jukes, making noise, and survivors not being able to use the injury speed boost to massively extend a chase between two safe zones. If the killer can't penalize staying injured, then yeah they kinda aren't the best killer and deserve to lose.
Being injured is already plenty bad, its just most survivors don't heal because killer just lacks a lot of threat in chases right now, so nothing you do will really incentivize survivors to heal if they aren't actually worried about spending a lot of time in contact with the killer, which they just aren't.
Killers probably need more stall in their base kit mind. Its just that thano is also low key a bad design for a few reasons: It punishes teams for having bad teammates, it is a 'binary' mechanic because either its worth it to heal or its not and when its not (which it currently isn't) people just don't change their behavior and its a very minor invisible slowdown, and it depends heavily on the killer already applying enough pressure they sorta don't need it (which is fine, win more stuff is a thing, but its too minor of an effect to be worth building around to 'earn'). Outside of weird niche builds it is tuned to be bad, which is a good idea.
If the killer gets any innate regression perk, it should absolutely be Pop, or some weaker version of pop.
Having bad teammates is where the rng comes in, if your teammate(s) suck at something, its up to you to step up to something else. So it balances out
-
Still beats the every DS + toolbox in every game we have today!
-
@CashelP14 said:
So you think having thana base kit would stop 5 mins games? Hate to say it but if the killer isn't applying enough pressure the game will still end in 5 mins.
You clearly dont play killer. FYI you can only chase 1 at a time!

title. he is not stupidly strong in the 4 v 1 but he is so boring and no interactive that id rather just kill on hook so i die on the hook fast and look for anotehr game, so i also dont die of boredom.
try to prove me you can have fun in the 1 v 1 against him, you cant try u will misserably fail but u can try, id rather get spammed by snare freddy or go against nurse than him so is not about the strenght of the killer is about how boring and not interactive he is.
Its like survivors running DS and toolbox
-
never gets old
-
tell that to an M1 kiler without map control, also you can only chase 1 at a time!
-
Make pounce count as a basic attack. Twins would improve alot of that.

Until you go against survivors who don’t know how to play against them, in which case it’s a slugfest and you dominate the game
Im playing red ranks, survivors know how to play against them.
-
"Laughs in disturbed ward", you just can't chase in there without throwing the match. You need some bloodlust, just like survivors have sprint
-
SWF if fine if you give killers 8 perks aswell much like swf communication. Where extra perks are in place due to their communication.
-
Twins is a unique killer with lots of mindgame potential and fun mechanics. But at this stage in ptb, it might be the first killer that will be delayed cause Twins need a full rework atm. I can't see them fix this in 3 weeks
-
From a survivor pov, this game is made to piss killers off. This game is stage 3 cancer, and gets you triggered like no other game. You see it on streamers getting burned out. So unbalanced and killer have no power whatsoever.
-
@F3bq said:
Um I played my first 4 matches with deathslinger on rank 1 and did fine without any slowdown perks? Red ranks aren't for p****U****s
I dont think ill pay attention to an account who only has 2 posts.

Ah good to know thx
-
I recently started to play again with the halloween event. I quickly realised that beeing a killer main at red ranks is a frustration on its own that i haven't come across in any other game out there. Gens just go so fast (even with gen stopping perks) there is just no time enough to do anything. You are forced to tunnel that one survivor or else you lost. The amount of defense perks survivor have are just insane.
This game is so unbalanced, and there is the swf topic aswell. Think ill come back to halloween event 2021 and see if it changed.

I would be curious to see the entire match. I won't jump to conclusions without seeing it for myself.
Emblems and bloodpoints are completely unrelated, though. Everyone in the match can earn a lot of bloodpoints. On the other hand, emblems are heavily dependent on how well the other side did. Lightbringer is the opposite of gatekeeper, for example, and chaser is the opposite of evader. If the survivors get a lot of lightbringer points, that means you're not getting a lot of gatekeeper points. If they are getting a lot of evader points, that means you're not getting a lot of chaser points.
Because of that, you might have a match where you have a lot of bloodpoints but ultimately only safety pip. This is likely what's happening here (considering three survivors escaped). Additionally, long chases might award more bloodpoints, but short chases provide more emblem score.

Well, we'd be happy to tell you, but you never showed us your emblems.
It was sarcastic, i just need the sacrifice. I just played a nice killer instead of a tunneler/camp/toxic killer. that was my biggest mistake. How can 700 bp between 0 pip and 2 pip(or a perfect game) have such a low value? You, as a killer, are forced to tunnel and camp. Im talking about pipping, not overall playstyle.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
OP, you should read this: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Emblems
Scroll down to the killer category.
Blood points has nothing to do with how you pip. There are many actions you can do which will increase your emblems, as well as decrease it. There are many things survivors can do to decrease your emblems as well. These have no regards on your blood point total, similar to how a survivor wouldn't pip if they just sat in the basement to gain 8,000 basement time points.
Ok, So in other words. You NEED the sacrifice at all cost? Ok got ya
How can i hook 9 times and still have a black pip?
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
In every game where I had you as Killer you were camping near the Hook and tunneling the guy who just got unhooked.
So yeah, the BP you get dont mean anything for the Emblems you get. I think you did not understand this yet...
You dont get 28k bp consitently on every game with just camping, you're talking nonsense.
You clearly got outplayed, its fine.
-
@TheBean said:
well that was very informative.... can't see the emblems... so... ok.
... so you'll hear this ...
Blood points have nothing to do with emblem points.
Done.
See you in the fog!
Exactly, Thats a problem right there
Edit: so even with the mindset of not Tunneling or camping, You end up getting fked, Just to have every1 pleased. What stops killers to not just camp and tunnels if bloodpoints dont mean anything?
-
Not moving away from hook and getting 31.3k bp. You have no idea do you? The fact that you "know" me seems like i did a good job, i don't remember you. Lets keep it that way.
-
i had a game with 31.2k bp and a black pip
-
If survivors keep using Mom, dead Hard, DS and adrenaline rush. Then killers should use as many perks that piss survivors off tbh. it's getting out of hand

Hey Guys, i got The Plague to P3. Without good perks like enduring/spirit fury/ bbq and ruin she's really weak. She can be fun, but at higher ranks/swf it's just really not that great. To show you here's a example of a match from me tonight.
2 addons for more effectiveness vile purge, Gens go fast, no map pressure, swf, toxic post game chat, dbd in a nutshell atm. 5yes i did wajnted to secure a kill after the gens were done)

Ive been using it on most of my killers for past 2 years, It's a very underestimated perk.
It counters alot of meta perks from survivors and it gives you extra time for a gen kick or breaking a pallet.

Goodbye Ruin

I think, from a marketing pov, they gonna release a licensed killer this summer.
Having dedicated servers is huge, so they kinda need to go huge on the killer aswell.
Thid summer dbd will burst its playerbase, if there is a licensed killer.
New chucky movie comming this summer, you never know what bhvr might pull off
