Yes, even in league the chat while somewhat toxic hasn’t been close to DBD.
DBD it’s like “I hope you spend New Years alone, get COVID, and your mom dies” kind of endgame chat

Survivors: 2-3 gens done in 2 minutes
Also survivors: Stupid tunneling killers!
-
My favorite current build.
Corrupt, pop, sloppy, MYC
Silent bell, wallhacks, indoor map offering
I think it might be viable on all the maps now though, and will be disgusting on the indoor ones.
Jumpscare Myers at 150% movespeed baby, with some built in one shots for good measure

Yh i know that i need to eat some pallets but i think gen regression gives me better the time for that then enduring and brutal. I did run Spirit Fury on some killer but then i had some matches where they just predropped.
I use only bamboozle on Bubba, STBFL on some other killer and brutal on Clown and Huntress. What builds do you use?
For some of my most played killers:
Pyramid: Corrupt, pop, brutal, monitor
Bubba: Corrupt, pop, bamboozle, monitor
Pig: Corrupt, enduring, bamboozle, monitor
Clown: Corrupt, enduring, brutal, monitor
Ghost: Corrupt, pop, sloppy, enduring

Its not like chase perks really help that much. You will never ever come close to a killer with a strong chase power. And you have the problem that you cant use other perks.
Spirit is annoying bc her counterplay is rare, but you need really fast downs without relying on loops to win against good survivor.
There’s really no other perks to use anymore. Maybe whispers, I don’t need BBQ anymore. All the other killer perks are typically so mediocre I feel it’s more worth it to pump up your chase potential even on strong killers. And yes do they do help, or at least I think so.
Cutting off shacks and jungle gyms early can save more time than any regression perk available. Good survivors will loop M1 killers so tight you literally have to eat the pallet to get rid of it, or risk extra loops

Chase perks only help so much, since survivors can drop early to avoid spirit fury and some games Bamboozle never comes into play but thats still 2 perk slots you’ve had to sacrifice whereas the meta now is picking strong killers and stacking all the slowdown perks.
I rarely use spirit fury, I’m typically doing enduring bamboozle or enduring brutal.
And that’s always been the “meta” which doesn’t exist anymore since the maps and survivors have been nerfed enough you can win with any killer. You don’t really need to spam nurse anymore like you did in 2017.
And all the slowdown perks are pretty mediocre at this point. Pretty much all you need is pop. Ruin is a trash RNG totem, Corrupt barely helps against a really sweaty team, and Sloppy is hard countered by good medkits.
I still run chase perks even on strong killers. Pyramid head people love to just chuck the pallets if they realize you are good with his M2; so I do brutal on him often. Same with Oni. It’s not like even the strongest killers get to ignore it.

All these survivors complain about little counterplay, have you ever taken a low/mid tier killer with no kind of anti-loop mechanics against good survivors stacking second chance perks through maps full of safe pallets, god pallets, god windows and spaced between hold W zones?
Survivors have no counterplay too in many scenarios yet people act like it doesn’t exist. Its why people dont enjoy using those killers at high rank.
I mean, the game has been out a long time. If you are going into games as a loopable killer you should know what can happen if you don’t take enough chase perks.
Back when god windows truly existed I literally never took bamboozle off my M1 killers. I still rarely play M1 killers without at least 2 chase perks.
It still doesn’t justify spirit though. I probably have less than 20-30 hours on her and I was consistently landing perfect phases and getting 4ks at rank 1. I can’t imagine if I spammed her all day. She’s just that easy.
-
He’s just stressful to play sometimes, you got the combination of a really rough early game along with a power that can be pretty hard to land on some maps.
So if you do spend your first few generators getting your power and then mess up a few flicks, you lose extra hard compared to other killers.
Obviously he is fantastic when you are landing the demon dashes. But I can’t imagine loading into reworked “the game” as Oni and going against survivors who can loop and just start throwing all the pallets. I haven’t had it happen yet because I don’t play him enough but I know that would probably put me off playing him for a long time

...after playing this game for a year (I started playing when I created my account here, February of 2019) and finally twoish weeks ago had enough, this is so painfully accurate that it physically makes me squirm just a little bit to see it said out loud.
A simple VOTE UP wasn't enough, you deserve some extra kudos for that post.
I mean it’s a video game, it’s really not that bad other than the ridiculously toxic endgame chat messages you can get.
The main problem is to succeed as a killer you need to know everything. You need to know the maps, you need to have perk knowledge, you need to have a good build. You need game sense, and you need to play solid.
Otherwise the purple/red rank killer experience is 4 gens done in 4 minutes.
But once you have all; that the typical killer experience is nonstop slaughter until you hit good SWFs. It’s just I’m sure a lot of people don’t make it past the hump.

So I'm supposed to remove stridor so all the red ranks playing with iron will can bully me further because I won't hear anything. ..may I also add that I only have around 100-150 hours as killer and I'm a survivor main. That spans across bubba, plague, pig, clown and spirit? So hardly a "master" at her. Take stridor off would still get someone moaning... Cuz spirit
She is the strongest killer for the least amount of skill to play. She is also a total snoozefest to go up against because the average stridor spirit chase is just her teleporting on top of your head from complete invisibility.
So of course survivors are going to hate on people who play her. I mostly play killer and I still hate her.
-
I don’t use ruin just because it’s typically gone in under a minute on the original maps.
I don’t use dying light on pretty much anyone, plague and legion are the prime candidates but I would rather run a chase perk on them.
Bubba is probably the next choice, since healing against him barely matters. But still, I’d rather have a chase perk or a stealth or a tracking perk instead of some extremely mediocre slowdown

Padded jaws trapper actually has an secret advantage cause you can use it to gain stbfl stacks really fast.
Sounds to me you need to drop the meta for a while and get out of your comfort zone. some perks are quite a bit better then people give them credit.
Here it is. I guess I just don’t appreciate losing an entire health state all game so I can have a worse version of other existing perks. Or having traps that don’t damage people so I can get a perk to damage people faster.
Whoo boy, I can’t take the forums today. I’d get brain damage reading any more of this.

You’re kidding aren’t you?!
One of the whole point of No Mither IS to body block and do saves against tunnellers!
The killer is FORCED to not ignore you when a No Mither user takes a protection hit. It can LITERALLY stop tunnelling of teammates because they killer doesn’t want that No Mither user self reviving from the dying state.
Ok? And you know how fast I could tunnel out a no mither user if I wanted? With no DS? This actually hurts my brain. I could probably do it in under 2 minutes.
This is like someone coming onto the forums and arguing padded jaws trapper has some kind of secret advantage.
There is no benefit, it’s a meme perk. Using no perk is better. Use lucky break if you don’t want pools of blood, iron will for no sounds.
Disgusting, I instantly hate anyone on my team using no mither because it’s throwing the match before it’s even started.

I’ve always loved No Mither. It’s not a bad perk when knowing how to work with its strengths.
I’m sorry, you make many fringe arguments but this is one I have to slap down.
Besides being a 1 shot to every killer in the game and liable to being hard tunneled; you are unable to support your team through bodyblocks, unhooking, and your build doesn’t even include dead hard or resilience to at least take advantage of the injured state.
It’s just a mediocre, and crippling, stealth build. At least run spine chill so you don’t get bodied by ambush killers.
You make the game a free win for any Oni player, which I assume you rarely face since those are mostly seen at high ranks; which you would not be getting to with this build.
The only stealth perk you need in this game is spine chill. And maybe iron will. Everything else is secondary.

I don’t get what you mean, there’s plenty of “I win” buttons to push in DBD.
And no, it honestly should not be that way. The grind should be a minor advantage. A good model is apex legends. It doesn’t matter how much you grind, you start on the same page as everyone else. Only skill and teamwork carry you in that game.

I get where folks are coming from but why do they always go into "and then I 4kd" like, lets be real, at least killing them is some vindication.
Usually when you get a bully squad they roll you too, and use like Springwood and Haddonfield offerings; and 4 man escape.
Still, I know it sucks. I often get groups like this and they railroad me into like a basement lockdown trapper or such and it's just blech, I would rather not.
I mean my main problem with it is because of the matchmaking and imbalance between solo Q and SWF, it’s like such a slap in the face. You get like 10 potato squads in a row and then you face seal team 6 out of nowhere.
At least if it was consistent it would be a little less unexpected to get rolled in ~4 minutes when you are screwing around playing clown or something
-
Heck no. Midwich is the hold W map. If you see the killer at the end of a hallway you hold W and it takes like 40-50 seconds just for them to catch up. But once the killer does catch up; most of the loops are super unsafe, especially against antiloop killers.
Glenvale is the kick breakable walls or hide in bushes map. Most loops and the main building are way too strong until you spend a ton of time kicking out walls next to god windows. The bushes engulf all but the largest and brightest survivors and you will never find a blendette. Not to mention the completely free generators given to the survivors at the main building and on the hanging platform.
-
Snooze fest, I’d rather get tunneled out

Yh obviously it works. Bc the survivor are bad. Against this survivor you could win without camping when you would be a good killer.
Dont get me wrong i am a killer who uses everything in his arsenal to win, but many killer just use the survivor are too strong argument to not improve. When you get better results with camping you have a long way to go. Camping the entire time is not a counterplay to strong survivor, its a tool to stomp noobs.
I mean whatever you say, this guy goes on 300+ win streaks camping and tunneling habitually but I guess it only works against noobs. I will listen to you when it stops working for me.

Yh but you will not get more then one kill with camping against a good team either. So i can understand tunneling, but not camping from the start. With camping you rely on survivor mistakes.
I mean it works all the time for me, and I play at rank 1. Granted, I proxy camp I don’t face camp. And I usually only camp from 2nd stage to dead unless I’m playing pyramid head, in which case first to second into an execute works fine.
You just slug anyone who comes near the hook. Or go get a slug and then go back to hook, it’s not rocket science.
If the hook is in the middle of 3 gens and you get it super early camping is a totally viable strategy.

Yh to some regards we are on the same page, but i personally dont think camping is fun. I play for winstreaks aka 4k, but i want to get better. With camping i have no improvement, so i use it as tool like in a 3 gen, but never as main strategy.
Is camping not boring?
You are not getting 12 hooks against a good team unless you are playing the most broken stuff available.
If you spend the first 90 seconds of the game getting your first hook (which is very common if the survivors can loop and you are playing a weaker killer) and it costs you almost 2 gens, why would you ever think you should try it again 11 more times?
You have to camp and tunnel at that point. It’s just a necessity with current gen speeds unless you are a spirit main or something.

He is imo far more versatile in loop scenarios, the bigger hit box of huntresses hatchets is more of a disadvantage for me, since it makes a lot of angles impossible, it makes attacks over barricades sometimes impossible, good survivors always hide in the deadzones of huntress hatchets while in a loop. Just crouching behind a low obstacle can make it impossible to hit for Huntress but not for Deathslinger, he can even shoot through cracks in the killer shack walls and other cracks in walls, and i got hits many times in those scenarios.
It goes both ways. The massive hitboxes let you throw over objects and get hits where deathslinger can’t. Even though it looks ridiculously cheesy.
And what about the hits the game just gives you for free?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KxbzEkp3Eo&t=48m50sLook at this down lmao. That’s just everyday huntress life.
And it’s not like hitting with slinger even guarantees a down. There could just be a random piece of debris in the way the survivor clings to and your down is gone. And he can’t down at safe pallets, huntress can. Idk why this is even an argument. Huntress is better in almost every single way except the lullaby and terror radius.

When i see someone with ooo i never and i mean NEVER tunnel him or get him first i always save him for last chasing someone with ooo is a pain in the ass.
Idk it depends on the player. I usually go for them first myself. I’ve seen potato object users and I’ve seen god ones.
But honestly most god survivors don’t play solo Q; they are always in a SWF. And I can usually tell if it’s a SWF because it will be 3-4 PC players in the lobby when it’s usually mostly crossplay people.
And if it’s a SWF, I’m usually bringing some BS build so I don’t mind chasing them either way.
-
@Zucker_Schock said:
@AChaoticKiller Thanks for your information, i believe both sides can learn a thing or two from the arguments about the 2 killers.
How can you really think slinger is better? Huntress does almost everything better. She has unlimited range, way more generous hitboxes, has 5 shots basekit, doesn’t get slowed nearly as much for missing/hitting shots, has significantly more powerful addons, and to top it all off she can down you over a pallet.
Slinger has a smaller terror radius and that’s about it. Even his faster projectile speed can be mimicked with hatchet charge speed addons.

When i think of abused perks object of obsession is the first perk that i think of.
Oh yeah I forgot about object, it’s not really a problem in solo Q though mostly in SWFs. Object + midwhich is pretty busted.
But then I again I play killers who heavily, heavily punish it most of the time. Undetectable killers, Bubba, and the chief one being PP head.
Pyramid head loves him some object users since he can find the cage for free and tunnel them ridiculously hard.
-
DS is the main one I can see and it’s gone next patch so who cares.
Maybe bodyblocking with BT but that’s risky for the survivor since you might just wait 15 seconds and tunnel them (I do). So it’s not really abuse.
Unbreakable / Soul Guard potentially if they use that bug where you can’t be picked up if you go down while interacting with an object.
Nothing else is abuse really, it’s just using the perk.
-
I do spine chill: Too good against stealth killers, good on indoor maps, lets you know when to run or when to sit on a generator when inside a terror radius
Iron will: Good anti tunneling perk, good chase perk, good stealth perk, just good overall and helps you survive when healing isn’t an option
Dead Hard: Need I say more?
Left Behind: Because I’m a filthy key addict and solo Q is actual hell sometimes
-
Slinger is way harder than huntress. Huntress is recruit difficulty, slinger is for the pros.
You need pixel perfect accuracy, and you only get 1 shot. It doesn’t down over pallets or have a long range. His addons are significantly less powerful.
Huntress has truck sized hitboxes, you can hold up to 8 hatchets, and they down over pallets. She still has tons of BS addons like iri head and exhaustion hatchets.
What else is there to say?

Spirit is literally blind half of the match.
She is 110 killer who has NO time or opportunity to look for hiding survivors like walking killers have and who is unable to spot survivors while traversing around the map due to how her power works.
She flies to gen, sees nobody there, checks nearby tree at worst and leaves the moment she gets her power because 3 other survivors are not pressured.
You literally don't sprint and don't run in the open and she will find you only by accident or if you get sloppy.
>1) Can spawn almost in line of sight of the killer on some maps
That's extremely rare occasion and even so you can manage to hide from killer while they get to you.
>2) The killer can use very strong tracking perks
Not a single tracking perk killers have is able to precisely locate survivors OR cannot be countered with simple things.
I assume you mean perks like BBQ (2 NO PERK counters) or Whispers (which are pretty useless in finding the exact location of hiding survivor) but they don't break stealth gameplay, especially if you run perks that help you avoid being noticed.
>3) The Spirit can phase onto your generator and appear before you can realistically react, especially with speed addons
Whoosh sound is a joke apparently. You can also use your eyes to see spirit from far, they usually don't bother with hiding.
Not even mentioning Spine Chill that should be your must perk if you're having so much trouble against Spirit.
Spirit isn't an old legion that downs you in 20 seconds regardless what you do. She is beatable, you just have to LEARN different ways to do so. If you refuse, the problem isn't spirit. It's like playing rock-paper-scissors and complaining that you can't win with rock against paper.
I have played way too much as and against the spirit to agree with any of that.
Whispers is a ridiculously strong tracking perk, especially on someone with really good map knowledge. I can usually pinpoint locations with it if the survivor is by themselves.
There is also discordance, surveillance, infectious, tinkerer, monitor and abuse, etc. All of which have counter play but and by the time you realize they have it the killer has probably already found you.
Don’t tell me to equip a perk to counter a killer, that’s a horrible argument.
“Whoosh sound is a joke” ignores the speed she is moving at, especially with addons. She’s moving at 200% movespeed with just a green. Which is 8 meters a second and you get a 24meter “woosh” range. So you have ~2 seconds to hide and if she stops short? There’s no way you are finding a spot to hide that quickly.
”Learn” different ways to beat a killer that can hit you anytime you run, anytime you stay at a pallet, and gets a free down anytime you are injured. Ok. I have good headphones and I get almost perfect hits on fully healthy survivors if they are running.
All of the arguments you have made point towards the fact that you are a newer player, and that’s fine.
-
@Profezia said:

That's what you do IN CHASE.
What I'm suggesting is to AVOID chases in the first place. As long as possible. Make her waste time looking for you, then return to gen and repeat.
If you avoid direct confrontations as much as you can, you will have significantly less troubles escaping her.
You could say that about literally any killer in the game.
“Just never be in chase” is almost admitting she is broken.
And it’s not feasible. Given that you:
1) Can spawn almost in line of sight of the killer on some maps
2) The killer can use very strong tracking perks
3) The Spirit can phase onto your generator and appear before you can realistically react, especially with speed addons
-
You should be able to tell if she is phasing, that would instantly make her better.
Right now it’s like you are at a pallet, spirit just stands there. You take a 50-50 which side she appears on but then oh she’s actually just standing there you go down. It’s one of the dumbest things in DBD, not that having to make 50-50 guesses at pallets isn’t dumb either.
-
I would get bored playing the same killer over and over. Half of them play basically the same anyways, so why not mix it up? There’s only a handful of killers with a super intricate power.
-

I don't think he looks very good and general impression seems to be he's pretty bad from what I've seen. 8 hits is a little much imo, maybe 5 or 6. iirc the only addons to reduce the number of hits needed is a purple and you need to bounce the knife and a red where you can't miss. I don't want an another add-on dependent killer, especially not if a purple/red is needed in every game.
You're not always going to be out in the open or in a short loop. He doesn't need to be (and probably shouldn't be) Huntress strong, but he's a little too weak right now imo.
Hopefully someone finds/shows something soon that makes him a little stronger.
Huntress / Slinger and pretty much every other killer in the game suffer the same at the super safe loops and main buildings. I don’t know why you think this guy would be any different.
-
@MrPenguin said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1988879#Comment_1988879
Most console players won't play him if he's weak though. He needs to at least be decently good.
He does look good though, maybe not red ranks 4 man SWF killing good but definitely plenty for purple/solo Q red given his low skill cap.
If you catch someone in the open or at short loops they are gonna go down without much effort on your part. And it looks pretty hard to screw up, unlike other easy killers like Bubba/Trapper where you can majorly screw up. You just spam them down and that’s that. I’m sure he will be pretty annoying with a chase build like Brutal+Bamboozle.
-
Survivors don’t know you have mad grit, unless they are the one being carried or you spam attacks.
You are right on No Way Out.
Crowd control is still a hex, and if it gets broken on a killer who really hates windows before you got the pallet drop at key tiles it’s worse than bamboozle.
Fast track “getting max stacks” doesn’t matter because by then you will be looking for hatch.
Poised is still garbage, as is Self Preservation. Maybe good for flashlight saves but you will still hear them running up.
Lithe is better than Smash Hit because pallets are limited use, windows are not.
-
It’s just not possible with current gen speeds if the survivors are any good at looping whatsoever. Only a handful of killers can go for 12 hooks against a good team.
Without corrupt intervention you are looking at 3 gens done in 2-3 minutes. A 40-50 second chase can easily be 3 gens done; and it’s honestly not that hard to do against a ton of killers on many of the maps.
Load into “the game” as an M1 killer and expect to 12 hook? Just lmao. Survivors would not even have to loop, they could just stand at the pallets and still win.

Actually, you have seen a red rank console Pyramid Head. Me.
I enjoy playing him on a controller and find his POTD-flick to be quite consistent on joysticks.
Then again I mained Huntress back before Leatherface was released so I probably just got used to clunky controller aiming at this point.
I mean I don’t think I’ve ever personally played against one. I think I’ve seen one console huntress, and like 2 console deathslingers over months of survivor play.

I mean I'm on console and play a decent amount of Deathslinger, i guess for those players who can't aim with a controller will like him but I see no reason to play him in fact it looks frustrating to do so.
I was really hoping to have a killer that was at least decent, also with how this killer works even if they did what I mentioned he would still be console friendly.
I very rarely see console huntress/deathslinger. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a red ranked console pyramid head. It’s usually the more mechanically simple killers which is understandable due to the frame rate issues.
A weaker ranged killer who requires less precision doesn’t seem like a terrible idea or OP at all. People have been like “omg so broken” when he spams someone down but then forget huntress with a cooldown addon does it even faster. I think it just looks powerful because it’s seamless and looks like you are doing more damage when I’m sure huntress downs are way faster.
-
It says difficulty easy for a reason. Clearly the game needs more console killers and this seems like a decent answer.
I get rainbow ranks almost every game as killer and I feel like it’s because there’s no in between. It’s either brand new killers or seasoned vets with thousands of hours. The rest get weeded out by the SWFs.
As a PC killer I don’t see much reason to play him over huntress/slinger, except for the fact you can down someone in a pretty funny fashion.
-
Anything you would do for huntress/slinger really.
-
Actually lol’ing looking at his gameplay. Very over the top but in a good way.
It looks pretty fun for the killer, miserable for the survivors. But hey what else is new?
-
The new killer definitely feels more “video game” than “horror” for sure. Is that bad? I’m not sure, it’s not like DBD ever had any horror beyond jump scares anyways. Most of the characters have ridiculous outfits already.
-
That’s really the survivors fault and only happens if the team misplays massively.

That to be fair is also just you not having any perks. None of those are very good. Some people swear by save the best but I honestly end up tunneling too much to get good value out of it.
You really want like Corrupt, Pop, and 2 chase perks IMO. I do enduring and bamboozle.

Pretty much this.
Had to deal with the most disgusting 4 man team the other day.
All 4 brought Object of Obsession combined with the typical meta, all 4 macro clickers, all 4 with stretched screen and possibly hacked camera angle (I looked up one of them afterwards and realized they were streaming and can see over virtually every loop because the camera was like really far away from them).
I barely managed to get 1 of them (3 hooked) and another one of them started hiding the second he was on death hook.
But as soon as the gates were open they literally came into the map looking for me to macro click in my face again knowing I could do nothing about it as a 2-hit killer (didn't play Leatherface) as I have to hit them and give them a free Sprint Burst that allows them to run all across the map and escape anyway.
I guess getting that 1k really hurt their ego.
But yeah, the second I realize it's an experienced bully team using every advantage in the book I'm basically just playing for the 1k.
I have been shying away from a lot of the M1 killers for that very reason. I used to spam ghostface but now it’s like I’d honestly feel more confident going in with someone like clown because at least he is basically guaranteed to body someone if he closes the gap. Wraith/legion/Myers/etc can all get spanked unless you have like 3 chase perks.

Don't compare perks to game mechanics unless you want that survivors equip a perk so the hatch spawns.
You are complaining about survivor second chance perks, so I compare it to NOED. A key is hardly a free win in solo Q. The matchmaking is outright broken.
Even if you find the hatch, gathering up all your teammates is a nightmare and someone is bound to get caught first.
And as I said, killers still have plenty of “I win” buttons they can push. Iri head, rusty shackles, tombstone piece, tampered timer+crate of gears, alchemists ring, mother daughter ring, etc etc.
