Getting bullied in matches sucks, but that's a reason to fix matchmaking (as they're trying to do), not to remove the DC penalty.

I'm sorry but I don't see how matchmaking changes would stop me from being matched to a 4 man bully squad or a tunneling facecamping killer.

And by your logic i'm the selfish one for not wanting to be picked on for 10-30 min.

That's selfish tbh. It's a team game. If you DC as survivor, you ruin the game for all of your teammates. You also can ruin the game for the killer; I can't tell you how many times I've been on my way to getting an adept achievement only to have a survivor DC just because I was winning.

If you DC as killer I don't think it's quite as bad, but you're still depriving the survivors of pips and points that they deserved. Still, this game 100% needs a DC penalty because DC's are rampant without a penalty and any game with a DC is no longer competitive.

So getting bullied through a match is ok and i'm the selfish one that needs to let the other player get their points even though they're picking on me for the whole match.

  • I know this is a bait post but there actually needs to be no dc penalty, I don't want to play through a game where i'm getting bullied by a killer or swf group.

  • I honestly forgot it was even a thing

I dont think Pop or DS are required to play properly. As survivor I can do just fine without DS, I haven't used it since I got my adept as Laurie. Same with Pop, I am not trying to say pop is not an excelent perk, but with time it feels more like training wheels than anything, there are some other builds you can try that work better for gen regression than just slapping pop on your killer.

For me at least everytime I don't run ds no obsession, and everytime I run ruin gone after 5 min. I think a toned down version of both would be good basekit additions just so you don't get immediately tunneled out of the game, and have gen kicks that are not useless without a perk.

  • I do like him and he does make some good points, but he has a massive ego and thinks he is always right.

So why is this survivor perk allowed? That is what I am going to discuss and the big issue it brings to the game that I’m not sure if anyone has realized yet.

Now let’s start with the issues of what is wrong with Thanataphobia and the reasons the developers gave on why it wouldn’t receive a buff. Firstly while 16% slowdown seems a lot if you think about it with all the current perks that increase speeds it gets easily overridden so it’s already not that great. Then when asked about a buff to the numbers we were told any higher would be too much. Now comes in why this new perk makes Thanataphobia useless.

This new perk caps at 56%. That is already 40% higher then Thanataphobia but it doesn’t even stop there. This perk stacks with others using the same perk and other speed increase perks as well. Meaning if this is used anything that does slowdown while someone is injured have no effect anymore. Now I don’t have anything personally against the perk I quite like it. My question though is why was even making Thanataphobia 5% per stack too much but 14% a stack isn’t?

Let me know your thoughts on the matter below

TLDR: 4% a stack was too much to increase any higher but 14% per stack is fine

This perk and a couple of the new killers perks are gonna make me hate this game

Been playing this game only a few days. Still rank 16 survivor (I know). The only killer that seems to consistently wipe everyone out is Ghostface. Pig might be a close second. Are they that good? or are they just good at this rank?

Also, what are considered counters to them?

he is very good however, having his power taken away for 30 sec can be really rough if the survivors always expose you

  • Really bad in chase. Super annoying as survivor, mending all the time is really boring.

  • @Lunairtic said:

I play console, PS4 to be exact. I tried crossplay for a full week doing nothing but solo Q. The result? I considered dropping the game entirely. I'm not going to blame one platform or the other but, I would say 88% of my games were complete garbage. From the teammates, to the killer, to the chases. Everything was awful.

Now if rank is on your mind then let me clarify by saying yes I'm red rank, consistently rank 2 & 3 but go up and down within it.

Every single game I was tunneled again and again. Other players would deliberately bring the killer to interrupt gens just because they didnt want to die. There was no teamwork. It was everyone for themself. Farming out the ***, people just letting others die on there first hook. Full health players running to the injured person to kill them instead.

The bottom line is with my experience, crossplay is the worst thing to have happened to me. But as soon as I turned it off I had such a better experience. 1000x better, and the ques were still the same speed if crossplay was turned on. I wasn't constantly tunneled, I actually got people in my rank as well. It was miracle. It's only been one day since I switched off Crossplay and I will never, ever turn it back on.

Tldr; If you are a console player I recommend you turn off Crossplay. It was the best decision I ever made.

Killer games are now extremely easy and solo survivor is a complete nightmare, at least for me.

  • Run right up to the window he is going to use the wave at and make a hard left/right, Should make him use his ranged attack and get you some distance

  • Huntress actually has snowball potential and infinite range.

Although personally i'd rather play deathslinger

  • Only one, and he was a new player when mmr was still on.

If you use Object you ask for it. It´s such a broken perk I wouldn´t be suprised if a significant portion of players would go as far as to slug the object and camp them to bleedout.

Thanks I thought he was trying to say something like that. The way op worded it confused me lmao.

  • PC is just a lot more sweaty than console in my experience. (that goes for other games too)

  • What? I cannot seem to comprehend what your saying

  • lmao its actually bringing most of the community together. Now instead of being divided buy what platform you play on, you are divided by your own choice to not want to play with people from other platforms

    Also inb4 baitposter

  • @Haddix said:

(Edit: I do NOT want this killer nerfed, and I do NOT think he's OP in any way, what I'm proposing are changes to make his gameplay more in-depth and skill-based for a higher skill ceiling. In a sense, you can call that a buff!) I'd like to preface this with saying I'm a killer main, and this is my stance as someone who wants to play a more fun killer. The Executioner, as you know if you're aware of how he's best played, is a killer who does a LOT of baiting and zoning. If you don't know what that means, it's basically when he holds down the aim for his shockwave, the survivor starts juking expecting the shockwave, and then Phead cancels the aiming and goes for a basic M1, as the survivor is out positioned because they were juking and losing distance.

This is why he's really good in chase. Either you juke a window in front of him and he M1's you, or you go for the window and he uses his shockwave to hit you. Same with a pallet. It works, it makes him good, but it's just plain bad design.

This killer has an ability that can be used skillfully, but the game does not encourage more use of it outside of animation locks, as it has a very punishing cooldown if you miss, and it's quite easy to juke. Thus, this killer is often known for leaving not many options in chase to counterplay, as like I said, you either vault a window and get hit, or juke and get hit anyway. It's a very annoying thing to go against, as good as it is.

Thus, I propose some changes may be in order to encourage more usage of this power, but give more room for counterplay and make hits on the survivors based on skills, and not a no-win situation he puts them in. I do NOT want this killer nerfed. I just want his shockwave to be used more frequently and be more preferable in situations than baiting it. If it DOES weaken him, then further changes can be made, especially to his cages which are okay at best.

For example, I'd really like to see a much less punishing cooldown for using the shockwave. Currently, if you go for a shockwave, survivors can just hold W and make distance while you stand there and pick your sword back up for ~4 seconds. I don't think it should be huntress level, there should be some punishment, but it should at least be much easier on the killer. To tone down the baiting and zoning a bit, I'd put a window of time where Phead cannot swing his M1 after canceling Rites of Judgement (charging the ability). Kinda like Doctor after using the shock therapy, but maybe a little longer. At this point, you could buff the actual speed it detonates, range, how wide it is, but this might bring up an issue that the shockwave is now way too difficult to dodge, and he's once again putting you in more unavoidable situations where you're getting hit no matter what with no counterplay. I'd still buff the shockwave slightly just to see how it goes, as I think a less punishing cooldown after using the ability combined with some very slight buffs to the ability would definitely encourage more use, along with the window of time you cannot M1 after canceling the charge.

I think this would make the killer much more fun to play (as it's fun to use ranged abilities and hit them!) and hopefully more fun to go against. What are your thoughts?

This just turns him into a 115 move speed deathslinger with worse anti loop

  • I would completely agree with the heavy amount of microtransactions if the game was FTP

  • Well this sucks I thought I could go back to playing billy but I guess hes just gonna be ######### again

  • When I want to sweat I use ds, unbreakable, borrowed, dead hard.

great for getting unhooks in the killers face

  • It's really up and down. first 2 matches as killer all rank 20's, After that Really amazing survivor group, Then back to rank 20 survivors.

  • Does it make some $$$$$$$. no. ok it's not gonna happen

  • Why are the DBD fourms filled with baitposters?

  • The new mmr has made the game so easy I always get incredibly good teammates against a new killer.

  • What really, I have been playing solo surv all day and have been getting god teir teams and really bad killers.

  • @forst said:

surv are so boosted with ez ultra safe pallets, some pallets at least that you are not a killer like spirit, hunter or pyramid you cant do anything only broke , I would say it is time to let them learn to play a bit these survivor no?

    Honestly I think it's fine

  • @xEa said:

What have they all in common? They give little to no reaction time by faking their ability. Deathslinger can simply fake his shot as often as he wants, Pyramid head leaves you to no joice aswell once he is using his ability. You either drop the pallet and get hit or you dont and get hit anyway. Killers like Huntress might work similar but you have counterplay and you know when she is about to attack.

I am really tired of those concepts devs come up recently.. apparently they dont understand their own game. Its no "skill" when you can sole counter defense of survivors by pressing a button. Its extremly frustrating to guess if and when the attack is coming. And to say the least, it is just a guess, nothing more and nothing less.

Same with Spirit. Versing this killer is a guessing game aswell, which makes her frustrating to verse.

I know this video got posted already, but this topic is still very relevant and he discribes it in a very understandable way.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5h10-JuLwEU

My problem is I like killers who require skill to be good. That's why I love anti loop killers like nurse, huntress, and deathslinger they actually require skill to be good and being good rewards you. On the other hand though spirit, pyramid, doctor, freddy take a considerably less amount of skill to still be great anti loop.

  • I was kinda in defense for them but after seeing the ######### that is this oni skin i'm completely against it. I thought it was going to be a way for them to make high quality creative skins but it's just another cash grab.

To each, their own. I play with the motion that 3k is a win and 4k is a stomping. Just the same as I play survivor, if I can survive with 4 gens done, I did my job and I feel proud. I don't go by the pip system. I'm rank 1 and when you friend on teammates, it can go both ways. If you feel like you lost, that's on you. Some killers get punished for using their power- Plague, Billy and Micheal, for killing too fast. Is that fair? No but its part of the game so looking at pips to me isn't a reliable look at skill but a gauge of how well I did.

Yeah i get what you mean, It's just not a good feeling when you do the objective (getting a 4k) and get a depip anyways.

  • Don't worry if you buy enough cosmetics maybe a developer will respond with a passive aggressive statement that dodges the original statement to tell you your wrong.

  • Yeah they should have at least made the kanabo something different, it really breaks the immersion of being a charging Minotaur from Greece When you are wielding a Japanese weapon.

  • @AVoiceOfReason said:

Killers first. Your job is to kill. Kill everyone the best you can. Tunnel, face camp, nod your head, mori, use iri add-ons and do what you need to to do your job. Don't let someone tell you how to kill or play. If there is 1 gen left and 3 people are on it but you haven't killed or even 2 hooked a survivor, do you think survivors will stop and give you time to kill 2 people? No. So why take their input on how to play? Either way, your job is to kill. Do it in anyway you need. The other side won't care that you didn't kill anyone.

Survivors. Do what you must to escape. Be annoying with flashlights, teabag and use what you have to escape. It's a literal strategy. If someone is getting chased and you teabag to get the killer off of the survivor, that's called a, "Distraction". You get points for it and helps your teammate get some breathing room and heal. Yeah, some will get upset but it's your job to escape. If someone gets tunneled and you don't even try to help get the killer off of them then that's on you guys, not the killer. You're a team. Help each other.

My words to both sides in the game and on the forums. It's a GAME. One side will always feel jilted no matter the outcome of a match if both sides are trying to escape and the other is trying to kill but balance is a must and just because someone doesn't play how YOU want doesn't mean you should berate them. It's a multiplayer game. Swallow your pride and say gg then move on. Thank you.

Ok so what if i get a 4k and still de-pip anyways is that me winning?

  • Everyone stop replying to this thread and let it fade away, it's obvious bait. Everytime you respond to a bait thread it just emboldens the person making them to keep making more. Juts stop replying please, Don't try to argue in this thread it just keeps it afloat longer.

So what is gonna be done now about the last second swap on survivor

This is when at 6 seconds they swap from Dwight with no item to fully kitted Kate with a key

What is gonna be done about it are we to just lobby dodge every game?

Can we just please have halfway through lock survivors into what they currently are so if they do plan to do this the killer can properly prepare their kit

If not what is the point in having a timer just have the match start immediately or else myself and others will just lobby dodge which is fine cuz it takes what five seconds to que up?

Edit: There are a lot of people saying there shouldn’t be time to prepare for like say a key comes in to play but what is worse then that is if I have no time to prep so I just bring an ebony every game and use it that becomes no fun for anyone same as when someone last seconds into a key or four of the same item and I have no counter to that

Edit 2: Also colorblind settings what of those?

Edit 3: I forgot to mention if you also agree with this please make your own posts with @Almo as he is in charge of these issues and refuses to give a response maybe enough of these and we will get an answer to why this is

Don't worry if you buy enough skins they will notice within the next year or so.

They can change addons and perks still. So the contention that "the Killer can't do anything about it now" is incorrect.

Allowing Killer swaps will make per-Killer MMR impossible, and we need that feature.

I think he is referring to the 4man swf who all swap to flashlights last second so you cannot equip franklin's or lightborn

I'm just gonna put It simply If you run NOED on an InstaDown killer you are bad. You shouldn't have to waste a slot for an InstaDown perk when you have a free one with your power. It should not be In the bloodweb of InstaDown killers and only In the bloodweb of killers like trapper and all the others who don't have Instadown.

Its not that it shouldn't be in their bloodwebs, the perk just needs a nerf altogether

  • @ClickyClicky said:

    Its called balance

This guy is a bait poster. Notice how he goes into threads says something controversial and then leaves without actually applying creative criticism.

  • @Splinterverse said:

I'm so sick and tired of Sprint Burst users are all ranks just walking nonchalantly every where to save up that Sprint Burst. You are wasting all of our time. You could pick that person up off the ground, you could get to that gen faster, you could get to the hook before the killer returns, etc. Just run Lithe or something else instead.

Even people that 99 it are annoying because half the time they're trying to 99 it to save themselves instead of helping the team.

Just run or take it off already.

EDIT TO ADD: I'm saying this as a survivor player, not a killer. It hurts the team. And I should add I see this behavior at all ranks.

I usually walk to the first gen when the game starts otherwise its good to use whenever. There is literally no point in wasting in when the game starts, It could literally save you from being hit when the killer comes for the gen your on.

  • Pig is perhaps the weakest killer but that being said she is not bad just worse than the others

I could give an exception, if the change is drastic enough sure they would probably need to be locked together.

But no way will that the case for all of them. Unless it's something super form altering, that straight up wouldn't work with the original body design. What's the real harm?

Yeah exactly thats mostly what I was trying to say. Some of the linked ones should just be standard but if its a complete transformation like the oni skin it needs to be linked

  • LIke some of the other posters in this thread said yeah money is part of it. Although the other part is it allows the devs to be more creative with outfit design by not needing to worry about clipping issues with other cosmetics if it was mix and match. If the devs said all cosmetics were fixed from now on that would be bullshit but by having a couple be fixed and still have the normal mix and match ones I think it is a fine balance between the two. I mean how could they have made the oni Minotaur outfit not be a fixed one, the outfit would look really silly and out of place if it was a standard outfit that was mixed with other cosmetics.

1 2 3 4 … 6
