Sadly survivors pay the bills so they will twist this hidden "mmr" for the best survivor experience.
Don't you killer mains ever get tired of this rhetoric?

So mmr concerns me, if been playing since release so my knowledge and skill are pretty high as both roles but if the people I verse/have on my team are my skill wont it be boring and bland? I'm not going to see weaker killers, just the 3 odd top tier ones and when playing killer you'll just see the meta always used on everyone. Honestly if this ends up being true I'll just quit, I play because of the range of killers and perks, without that its going to get boring fast
If MMR works properly and the game is balanced more or less within reason, it will not ruin the game.
Proper MMR working means that only good players will be matched with good players. While bad players will be matched with bad players. That means the matches will be more fair in general.
A lot of the complaints people have in this game, is most because either or both of those conditions are not true (MMR doesn't work, game is not balanced properly).

Currently, there is nothing that stops survivors from crouching in 1 area and moving a little every so often and then crouch circling a structure if the killer comes by.
This can go on indefinitely, way beyond what is necessary for the survivor to get away. Some survivors troll for long periods of time and do not even attempt to do their objective. They just troll.
There needs to be either a timer or a perk for killers that sniffs out hiders that abuse the mechanic. This is way too powerful. Do I need to download walls (since there is no security) to prevent time wasters from ruining my day or can we add something in game?
Hiding has already been penalized enough. You have so many ways to find survivors what more do you need? A survivor literally can't breathe in this game without being detected by a killer. If you can't find a survivor that's your fault.
Lol at it being "way too powerful" you do realize that's one survivor that is nothing but complete dead weight doing nothing to escape.

Are mental or what? Take your pills before you write such bullshit.
The only bullshit here is yours. If you lost 4 gens and only killed 1 survivor that's really a poor showing as killer. You would have "lost" that game anyway most likely.

3 people escaping through the hatch means that they got 4 gens done, and to me that’s a sign you haven’t done that good of a job as killer. 3 gen isn’t a win, against good players it’s a stalemate where the game continues on and on until one side gets bored and throws the match intentionally. In that situation you don’t deserve the win any more than the survivors do. The hatch still serves its primary purpose of keeping the game from dragging on forever.
The chance of fishing a key is like 4%. If even that, unless you build specifically for it. If they got lucky then they got lucky. Let it go.
How often do you see 3 people escapes? That only happens with SWFs, or one of them is using Aftercare. And even then it is extremely lucky for it to happen. If you are consistently getting 3 man hatch escapes enough to complain about it there is something wrong with you as a killer. I have never even seen a 3-man hatch escape in the two thousand hours I've been playing. 1 or even 2 man hatch is fairly common. But 3-man? LOL.

Solo can't be elevated to SWF level imo, simply because of the reason you just said. Every free information you give solo benefits SWF as well.
I am 100% against voice comms. Like never ever ever have to play with voice on.
Caht would take much more time and spamming is inevitable, so no to that as well.
I do believe SWF still can function well with this change, and continue to have fun. I don't see that as a punishment tbh.
You're a walking contradiction.
You want SWF to stay in the game, but don't want voice chat.
Well guess what voice chat ain't going away. No matter what you do.

I generally don't have an issue with Bamboozle, but I agree with Bwsted that it is no longer necessary in the current game.
Map design has already been fixed to severely nerf windows. There are almost no good loops left in the entire game. Bamboozle is no longer necessary to shut off these loops, because they no longer exist. It's sort of like Undying. Undying isn't necessary anymore because totem placement has come leaps and bounds since 4 years ago.

I love getting a purple medkit from a chest and losing it right after getting hit with franklins demise and losing it within a minute of getting it. It's annoying too when you bring a purple item and just when the game starts you get found first, get smacked and drop your item like at least put a cooldown on the perk.
It's annoying and I run Plunderer's builds allt he time. But not a big deal. Easily countered just by dropping the item in the middle of hte map and picking it up when you need it.
I would much rather face a killer wasting a slot on Plunderer than bringing CI, IF, Ruin, Undying, BBQ, Devour Hope, Bamboozle, etc. Heck I rather he use Franklin's over Thanatophobia. Thanato is legit annoying.
It is a minor inconvenience at best.
Killers wasting a perk slot on Franklin's is actually welcome for me.

Must a win for the survivor be an escape though? Like I mentioned before, I consider a victory to be when I pulled my weight enough so that some survivors escape at the end. If all 4 escape, that means that we all played remarkably well or that the killer is bad. If the killer is absolutely devastating, it is fair to say that even good teams should all die by the end of the trial. At least, that's what I see when I think of an asymmetrical horror game. I thought the pip (emblem) system is to help determine the win condition as well as rank?
I might of assumed incorrectly but I always thought that a pip means you won, a safety means a tie game and a depip means you lost? Everyone is free to define a win as they like, but I do see the point some of you are making in Behavior having a clear win condition for all.
I just hope that players aren't beating themselves up at the end of every game that they don't escape or in the killers case, don't kill most of the survivors. To tell yourself that you lost many games back to back is detrimental when you in fact pulled your weight as a solo and did well enough to earn a pip. It's not good for the mind and certainly not good for the ego. Both of these things are important in relation to why we play video games because we usually play to unwind or destress and of course, to have fun and do something we enjoy.
With that being said, maybe we should think about other definitions of winning, besides escape and maybe even besides a pip. Did you benefit your team? Were you the gen jockey who pushed the majority of gens while others were being chased? Did you hunt down the undying and ruin so that your teammates could effectively do gens without losing progress? Were you the distraction who took the killers away from teammates doing gens? A survivors win is possibly based on the benefit that they bring to the team.
Maybe we should have an instant reply or at the score screen, something that shows how many gens, totems, team heals, and chase time they each individually had. So we can see what they brought to the table and so that even in death, survivors can see the importance they played with thier sacrifice.
Winning is escaping. Period.
But just because you don't "win" doesn't mean the game you played was "worthless" or you didn't gain a "moral victory" in the game.
You are free to play the game and enjoy the game however you want, and it doesn't require "winning." You are not required to "win" a game.
The idea that you win by pipping is again the confusion set on by BHVR choosing to introduce the ######### emblem system. In some ways you are correct in that the game purposefully makes the subject of "winning" and "losing" a gray area. That's all baloney to me. A game is a game because it has rules and a clear cut victory and loss condition. This isn't soccer mom participation trophy time. We are playing a real game here.
The reason why ranking doesn't work and matchmaking is shot to ######### is because the game doesn't recognize that clearcut victory conditions are required for winning and losing. And you need to group and rank people according to who is good at winning and those who are losing.
Almost every other multiplayer game on the planet has ranking systems based on winning or losing. DBD is one of those games that is just confused and has no idea what it's doing.
It is your kind of thinking that has led to this mess of craptastic matchmaking. It's the same thinking BHVR employs and frankly it has got to go.

When I purchased hag with iri shards I was a bit sceptical. The only killers I could buy were clown, blight, hag and twins. I didn't want the twins cuz I found her play style to be boring, and clown was pretty weak. So I was between blight and hag. I had ruin on hag already, so I was leaning towards blight perkwise. But because of my pc fps drops, I decided to go with hag. And oh my, I don't regret a thing.
I've been playing hag for a month, and she's just so fun to play as. Her traps are so strong when placed correctly and you get rewarded for predicting the survivors. Unlike trapper she can use her traps on almost every loop and be effective, whilst having incredible map pressure, even tho she's a 110% ms killer. Unlike spirit she actually has obvious weaknesses and she requires a lot of map knowledge to be effective.
I'm basically half way through being a hag main (I've been shittalked for playing hag, so that's a good sign :p ). I just don't get why she's so hated by the community. Playing against a flashlight squad is a nightmare, and whenever you pick someone up you always get trap notifications because the OoO user starts to step on your traps.
If I had to guess it's because hag players usually trap the hooked person, that's true I also do that. But again, I think she's pretty counterable if you find a flashlight or have kindred/OoO.
So, why is she so hated? And as a bonus question, any tips when playing as hag? Could use some. Let me know below.
Well you answered your own question.
She's fun for you as killer. But she isn't fun for survivors because her traps work on every loops, she has incredible map pressure, she's a camping ######### and really she is just a super annoying killer to go against.
If you get hooked you might as well just #########. She's going to camp the hell out of you and you are all just going to die. If you are brought to the basement just turn the game off. You are not getting out of there alive.
She has obvious weaknesses to Urban Evasion and Flashlights, but who plays with Urban Evasion? And it's not a hard counter either, or even a good one. Scrubs bring UE but at red ranks almost nobody does, and most people don't bring flashlights, and good luck getting one in a chest. And unlike Spirit, since Hag is very rare to go up against most people do not spec to take her on, and if you aren't specced to handle hag you are going to have a hard time.
We're not even getting to her addons, like the stealth teleport where you don't even know you ran over a trap. Or the one where she can teleport to any trap freely. Even the body block addon is annoying and she can even screw you over and cut you off from the map. And that Ruin spawned in a corner? GG you are never blowing it.
Traps in general are annoying because you have to look where you go and it's a pain. But at least with trapper his traps are easy to see. Hag's traps are pretty much invisible on most maps. So you can only rely on map knowledge to predict where her traps are.
Hag is one of the most annoying killers in the game and frankly is unhealthy for the game. She is right up there with Nurse to be honest in power. I actually prefer versing Nurse over Hag. Not saying she's easy or an insta-win, she requires a lot of knowledge to pull off right, but there is nothing enjoyable about fighting her.
Most hag players just play in really annoying ways and take the fun out of the game entirely. Fun for the hag player I'm sure but it's just tedium for survivors.
All in all though Hag is one of those killers where if you are on a strong map she is unstoppable. On other maps she's manageable but no matter what map, it's always a pain to verse her, even on a map like Rotten Fields.

I feel like a big "problem" with solo survivor is that there aren't any defined win conditions. Like in any semi-competitive game there's always winners and losers. If you did really well in chases but your teammates sucked and didn't do much the game can say you didn't do well (de-pip) but you can feel accomplished. To me that just isn't satisfying enough, like if everybody believes they did well but actually was really bad or vice versa because the game told them so based on their weird ranking systems it just creates weird gameplay that doesn't work out so well. I think the game genuinely needs to have a win and loss condition, like if 3 or more survivors escape that's a win, and vice versa. If that was in place solo survivor would feel so much more defined and make more sense imo. It would fix a lot of issues people seem to have.
This is a problem BHVR created themselves.
The win condition is very clear. GET OUT OF THE EXIT GATES.
BHVR confused it with the stupid emblem system that doesn't even work properly (survivor pips way too easily). Game needs to go back to basics. Win is escape, win is kill survivors. Doing well in chases, sneaking, etc. that is immaterial. The bottomline is what matters. if the game needs you to be good at chases to win, then those who are good at chases will win more than those who are bad at it in the long run, and have a higher ELO. Simple.
Why are people so worried over survivors getting "free escapes" by getting carried by teammates? A bad survivor will be exposed in high level play no matter what. It might not happen every game but it will average out.
-
Well not really, solo survivor is genuinely stacked against survivors, but that is how the game was originally designed.
I too am mostly 99% solo survivor and I'ms till playing this game after all these years, so it's not that bad that you wouldn't want to play it. It's bad in the sense that it really is a one way ticket to hell, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's people who want to win so bad that find it "bad."
If you can enjoy the game even after getting killed solo survivor is perfectly fine.
My escape rate is something like 20-30%. I'm not very good at this game and I die in most games. I'm still playing aren't I? Solo Q is really bad if you want to win, but if you just want to play it is fine.

Hello fellow killers and survivors,
Let's just keep it not too complicated and straight to the point since this will be just another opinion among the many. I am currently a rank 8 killer, and rank 8 survivor, with most of my playtime on the killer side (70-30 probably) So you can know my perspective/point of view.
Something has been bothering me lately. That is the current state of survivors compared with the complains in the game. In these forums and on the internet I see so many survivors complaining about Hex: Ruin together with Hex: Undying. And I'm scared that, since most people play Survivor, the devs are actually listening to most complains like this.
All I wanted to say is: can you guys just, for a second, stop whining? Lately, as a rank 8 killer, I've faced SO MANY red ranked survivors in my games. Players way above my own skill level, giving me a run for my money. Leaving me mostly with only 1 or 2 sacrifices at the end (if i play well enough). And the funny part is, these high ranked survivors, almost always play together. Maybe not always a 4 man SWF but still, there is so much communication between survivors players that it is almost impossible to play a decent match versus such groups unless you're on the level of Otzdarva. Oh and don't forget that they can, together with comms, bring a key to escape before doing all the gens! (but im sure i heard they will tackle that issue).
This makes trying a new killer, and trying to learn that killer, so punishing; if I buy Blight for example and try some games with him, I better prepare to lose some pips and ranks because hell yeah you bet I still gotta play against those same red ranks, baby. Dropping down a couple of ranks just because I don't always wanna play the same killers.
Also, why do Survivors player feel the need to be so toxic? I'll give myself an example, as purple rank chasing a red rank, if the players is excellent at loops it's near impossible to get something usefull out of it and I have to switch targets. Making one player free to do as they please. And after trying my best and playing a decent, what I get in end-game is T-bagging at the exit gate. And if I'm lucky also some banter in the chat, something like "baby killer" - "noob".
And now, when we get something strong like Ruin + Undying people are asking for a change... The same people who run: DS, Unbreakable, Borrowed Time and Dead Hard. 4 TIMES. And if you're really lucky as a killer, someone uses Object of Obsession together with full comms on all players. Why can't survivors accept that you don't have to win 8 out of 10 matches for the game to feel 'balanced' for you?
I know this feels like a rant on survivors, but I just had to speak my mind about this. Let me hear your thoughts! Survivors and killers.
Killers whine just as much as survivors. Killers can also stop whining if they want survivors to stop whining. Both sides are whiny entitled camps. Naught to be done about it, that's how gamers go.
Balance? The game is balanced towards killers if killrates are anything to go by. But of course "BHVR's stats are bunk and don't mean anything."
When the game feels unbalanced it's just because you are facing someone significantly better than you. Of course if you are trying out a new killer you are going to have problems; you don't know how to play that killer yet but you are being matched against survivors who know the ins and outs of the game and how to verse that killer.
It all comes down to the game's abyssmal matchmaking and BHVR's absolute insistence not to match people of roughly equal winning ability with each other.
The entire pip, emblem and ranking system is a joke, which is why this game has so many problems.

But you can't always take the time to do totems. If you are up against a good killer and the player is skilled, you don't have time to waste. If you manage to do all gens with one person killed off, NOED will almost guarantee another free kill. As I said before, a solo queue team can't really risk cleansing totems and the chance of the killer having NOED at different rank varies. In solo queue, if you aren't doing a generator, you better hope your teammates are. In fact, solo queue is the main problem.
This is true, but I think NoEd isn't the palce to take this out on. NoEd fills a role that needs to be in the game (catchup mechanic) so killers have a chance of making a comeback in case they get overwhelmed.
Instead, the game needs to be rebalanced in many ways. The most obvious of course is matchmaking -- something that has plagued this game forever. If killers and survivors of roughly equal escape/killing ability are matched mismatches in time deficit won't be as bad. And BHVR really should revisit detection perks and gen slowdown perks so that survivors won't feel pressured to genrush.
The problem with this game is that it has been streamlined into rushing games on both ends. The game was much better back in 2017 when it wasn't as hectic and rush-based.

@Yords said:
In my opinion, NOED should be changed instead of nerfed.
Right now, the perk is being mostly used as a crutch for new players. I know this for a fact because I did the same when I first started playing killer. Why would I not have run it? It gave me a chance to get some kills at the end game and as a new player, this is an absolute win for me. I eventually stopped using it and moved on to BBQ and chili a long time ago.
Almo himself said something along the lines of it being balanced as a high-risk high reward perk. He also said that it is the survivor's fault for not cleansing the dull totems the whole match.
I disagree with this statement. I do not think that a survivor team should be punished for not cleansing totems that they probably couldn't spend time finding, especially because of solo queue. Most people are solo queueing when it comes to playing survivor, how are they supposed to coordinate that? If you have one person in solo queue look for totems all game, that is one useless survivor (pretty much) and they might not even know if anyone has cleansed totems yet so they have to assume that and probably waste a lot of time. In solo queue, your best time spent is time spent on generators and healing less than experienced survivors so that everyone including yourself has a better chance of escaping.
Also, why should survivors cleanse totems for the small chance of a killer having the perk? It has been months since I have had to deal with NOED at rank 1. So should I be punished for being a good survivor all game only to get instantly downed because I didn't cleanse the totems that most likely did not matter to cleanse in the first place?
Conclusion: NOED should be changed, to what? I don't know, you guys think of something.
I think that NOED should have a different end game effect on survivors that encourages them to leave for as long as the hex is active. Just something about it needs to be changed.
I disagree.
NoEd is fine, and the game needs a perk like noEd so that killers don't give up hope and throw the game when gens pop left and right. Killers need a catchup mechanic for when the survivors outplay them. I totally agree with Almo when he says that the perk is fine and balanced, and actually in my opinion necessary.
It also makes it important not to just genrush and to also do totems. Which is a good thing and something all killers want to happen. And of course survivors can choose to ignore so and take their chances in the endgame. I think this is perfectly fine.
NoEd is one of the more balanced perks and a necessity in the game IMO.
I always say this but if anything needs nerfing or changing it's BBQ (nobody else agrees with me though). BBQ is bad for the game and is one of the perks responsible for putting the game on the trajectory it's on today.

The difference is if a killer makes a mistake, it can cost them the whole match, whereas if a survivor makes a mistake, they get chance after chance after chance. No one is saying all survivors are potatoes, we are just saying that solo is miserable due to the potatoes that we are currently matched with. It's not overpowered killers that are making the game miserable, but poor matchmaking. Once the devs fix that, the game would feel more fair for most people.
With your admission that this is just a hobby and you only play this in your spare time, what makes you think that your opinion is valid enough? You having a job or having a "fair salary" is irrelevant.
You're more than welcome to post a link to the killer you're referencing to. But you are not interested in providing real proof.
Disagree.
Both sides can make crucial mistakes that cost them the game. And both sides can make mistakes that aren't very costly. If anything a killer has more chances to make mistakes and still recover. A survivor can make one mistake and just stay on hook or bleed on the floor for the rest of the game until they die.

The design philosophy of the game is that there has to be a certain uniformity in the look so that people don't have an advantage hiding or stealthing.
That said, the game does have Low/Med/High/Ultra and low is significantly easier to see things with in game. So really no idea what BHVR is smoking.

The purpose of playing is to accumulate Bloodpoints, which we use to level up our survivors and get new perks, items and offerings. So if that’s the main purpose of our games, why is there a perk to make survivors drop their items?
Franklins Demise is a perk for players who are scared of survivors having items, nothing more. It rewards killers for playing poorly, if you can’t find a way to counter play keys, med-kits etc etc then I’m sorry, but you need to get good. I no longer bring items into my games, because whenever I do, the killer decides to bring FD. I’ve been playing for maybe 7 hours today, and I’ve played against nearly 13 killers that used this perk, across various (although dominantly red) ranks.
When will the developers nerf this perk? At the very least, you should be able to keep your item, but lose a certain amount of charges, or lose the ability to use it for a duration of time. That would be preferable to losing it all together. If killers can have power add-ons that survivors can’t counterplay, Iridescent Head and Tombstone for example, why can killers do that to us?
Thoughts on this vile perk?
It's a crap perk, especially since survivor items have been crap for a long time now. It is generally not worth the slot.
Killers who still use it because they are afraid of flashlights or keys... I mean come on. Well, your choice. But that's one of the big issues of this game. Survivor items have grown increasingly crappier and more useless as the years go by. Keys are the last thing the devs haven't nerfed, and keys are nerfed (and you know they are going to nerf it after the Mori nerf) flashlights and medkits are going to be the only thing left that are even remotely useful, and those aren't even that good anymore since their nerfs.
And besides Franklins is a terrible counter to keys. Survivor just needs to drop it somewhere until the hatch spawns, then come back for it.
You should be thankful that you are facing killers who are bothering to bring this crap perk. I'd rather akiller have this along than Ruin, PGTW, Tinker or BBQ.

I know F13 has been free recently on certain platforms, but it was still like this back in the games hay day, before it was ever free. Are there really that few of killer players who play this game? So much so that survivor ques are often 5 or more minutes? It really does suck.
Thats by biggest gripe with this game is the que times. I just wish it wouldn't take longer then a minute to find a game. 😔
F13 gets instant games these days? I thought it was a dead game. Maybe I should buy F13 now.
Two years ago it was the completely opposite; survivor queues were instant and killer queues would take 10 to 30 minutes. Or longer. I could literally cook a quick dinner, finish it, do the dishes and come back and I still hadn't found a game.

I think you are missing my point here. I'm not saying killers don't make mistakes. They do. No more or less than survivors. But survivors mistakes can kill their teammates.
And I'm not talking about advanced play where you could have squeezed an extra loop or a few meters if only you turned left instead of right or made that clucth read on the killer. I'm talking very basic mistakes that show a lack of game awareness. Unhooking in the face of the killer without BT or any plan is a stupid thing to do and is going to get someone killed, unless the killer also follow up with a big mistake of his own. Hiding from a killer who is nowhere near or self caring while someone is looping the killer on the other side of the map instead of finishing an important generator. All of theses are very basic things that I see constantly in solo queue and from all sort of ranks. And all of theses in addition to hook suicides (and possibly Disconnects) impact the kill rate as a global statistic.
There is now way for the kill rate statistic alone to distinguish a 4k from a good killer who had to sweat and read the survivors correctly from a mediocre killer's 4k who just happened to have the survivors make a huge missplay (or several small ones) and snowballed from there. Also kill rate is not number of hooks or emblem scores. A 4k with 4 hook is significantly different from a 4k with 10+ hooks in terms of how the game went.
All I'm trying to say is that I don't doubt that the kill rates stats we are shown from time to time reflect the reality. I'm just pointing out that kill rate alone is not a very usefull indicator of how the games actually play.
Perhaps not you in particular are saying that, but a lot of killer mains here certainly do.
And you are absolutely correct that survivor mistakes are a lot more costly. A single survivor mistake can and often will cost you the game, or leave you on hook for the rest of the game. Killers have a lot more leeway making mistakes and it's not lethal to the killer, nor does it prevent the killer from playing. A survivor that makes a costly mistake can have his game end right then and there with just a single miss.
You are also absolutely correct that a lot of survivors make really silly mistakes like hiding in corners well away from the killer and self-caring when they should be unhooking or otherwise doing something clutch.
The statistics don't tell the whole story, but they're a very, very good indicator of the overall trend, and in the end it doesn't matter. Doesn't matter if you played really good then died. You still died. There is no margin for error in life and death. You have to look at the bottomeline, becasue that's what matters.

Pigs are the only killers I get scared from facing these days. While 1 out of 10 killers are usually top tier players, that goes up to around 9 out of 10 when you face Pig players in red ranks. Even though the killer itself isn't strong, the people playing them sure as hell are.
This exactly. Whenever I fight a Pig I'm almost always outclassed. Sometimes I'll beat a pig and escape -- again very rare happens only 1 out of 10 times probably. But in general Pig players are super skilled at the game and I'm no match for them, and neither is the rest of my team.
