  • I play the whole roster evenly but my first 3 100 killers were Xenomorph, Dracula, Skull Merchant.

Aliens / Predator has been my #1 favorite franchise of all time since i was a kid and i've always been fascinated with the xenomorph, its life cycle / biology etc. And the whole concept of the corrupt Weyland Yutani corporation and Androids that seem 95% human, with dark empty lifeless space -futuristic theme. As for its gameplay I was alredy used to playing all the Aliens vs Predator games and got used to the tail strike pretty quickly. It ended up being my most played killer and went through the mmr a bit too quickly.

Dracula was from another favorite franchise and i'm glad they went with that version of him. I played through every single castlevania game from start to finnish, over 24 games. (he was the only possitive part of the castlevania chapter for me as the survivor end of things was a total nightmare. My favorites being Shanoa and Simon Belmont ended up as just cosplays) compared to xeno he never feels helpless unless hes against absolute looping gods, which ive seen only one or 2 times as him. I see many just stick to wolf form or prefer vampire form most of the game but his strength definitely comes from quick adaptation of switching forms constantly at certain times. Ive managed to get used to that and he feels easier to use than xeno.

And Skull merchant i really liked her character design and is my only p100 original character (from both sides). I got all her cosmetics and was really enjoying her stealth aspects, ignoring all the hate when she first started. I still found i was pretty decent with her on/off stealth for a while until the recent berf which made her stealth activation much more tedious. But primary reason i got into playing her was she was the first hot female killer lol.

  • I used to play both quite often. Theyve both changed allot, in ways i didnt like.

With onryo when she came out everyone was saying she was weak but i really enjoyed the challenge of just on/off stealth playstyle, and was quite good at it. Never bothered with condemned as i saw it as a way of skipping the gameplay and losing hooks. Then they made her extremely spammy. Now every onryo ive seen spams tvs and barely ever hooks, which i find it extremely annoying in soloque. And i don't want to bother condemning people. So i've stopped playing her as i don't want to be seen as "another annoying tv spammer" even if im not spamming lol.

As for freddy i enjoyed the challenge of his lack of abilities as well and often just liked using the fake pallet addons as theyd always trick people. When they were doing the rework i was hoping he would go back to something like his first iteration which i really enjoyed back then. But instead it seemed to just make him the same but more tedious, removed the pallets being able to trick people as they are now just noticable bombs. And the bloodpools require an addon to be like before as the projectile feels more useless than doctor's shocks as they don't even prevent actions or injure. So i've only played him 1 time since the rework and lost horribly and haven't gone back.

  • Theres a few reasons why i am not particularly excited about jason possibly joining.

And i get that he's not only a big deal for dbd but the biggest, as its similar to vampire survivors when they got the castlevania collab, the franchise that inspired their game, acknowledging them and even putting their franchises characters into the inspired game. But..

    • Jason's theme has been in the game since the beginning. Trapper has alredy made the game feel like theres been a jason themed killer all this time. So its like getting hyped over trapper 2.0 as itl clearly be the improvement. And itl feel like completing the old og slasher collection thats been sitting on the shelf for a decade missing 1 more piece.
    • Some have alredy had a taste of what playing a game with jason as the killer would feel like, with the friday the 13th game. It also had better gameplay, argueably better cosmetics, faster pace, and several ways to escape or leave others behind etc. So putting him in dbd might feel like a nerfed downgrade compared to all he was capable of in a game centered entirely around him (yet ironically inspired by dbd).
    • With all the licensing troubles surrounding jason, players have to wonder if he will even last in the game when myers and pinhead were alredy removed and it feels more like a question of when would he be removed rather than will he will be removed.
    • Whatever survivors would be added along with jason, wouldn't be very appealing. As most of the characters in f13 movies feel like cannonfodder random people placed there just for him to kill off during the movie. Some lasted more than 1 movie but the only one i even remember is tommy jarvis who i don't find to be that interesting either.
  • One thing she did have going was temporary stealth activation. Thats been nerfed now too with the new activation requirement being look away from the chase to remove a placed drone somewhere that couldve clipped somebody at some point. She was alredy gutted at the time but then they had to go and make the one thing i did like about her - more tedious and less convenient.

  • Ive never seen a round where a survivor was cheating and the rest didnt leave the gates because of it. Half the time people dont even know theres a cheater till the killer calls them out in the end game chat. So i highly doubt it works like that. Its more of a courtesy thing like you don't feel like escaping for free due to the other players cheats so you stay to make it up to the killer player - by choice. But for some reason they were convinced its mandatory and reportable.

Everyone runs into players that take things too far, at some point. Ive had someone fully ban my steam name that i had for over 13 years and recieved thousands of compliments about how funny it was over the years. it had me scared enough to try the hidden name mode for a few weeks. Eventually things went back to normal but still. Theres people out there thatl attack you with everything they can even if you didn't do anything.

Im sure you'll be fine as its pretty hard to report an actual cheater these days let alone someone that wasn't cheating, even if they used video proof all theyd see if you playing normally and leaving and theyd see you report as well to confirm u werent with them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but… 10 year anniversary and only 2 characters are getting good looking celebration skins? I really hope we're not going the route that overwatch took of just abysmal 10 year anniversary rewards lol.

Its quest rewards "leading up to" the anniversary. Anniversary will have its own entire set of stuff

  • Baldurs gate 3 characters couldve been a good start for dnd. Most of them aren't human. But i have no idea the complications between baldurs gate 3 and dnd when it comes to licensing, as they are from the same universe and i think ive seen dnd license holders use baldurs gate 3 characters as collabs before in other games. Im sure Shadowheart, karlach and Astarian would all be popular picks.

Aside from that not many licenses come to my mind besides something like Bloody Roar, street sharks, ninja turtles etc which aren't horror based. So itd probably have to be an original chapter.

  • What would be the purpose of the line? If you are running out the gate to escape you know the general area that you have to reach. If you are crawling but don't make it to the line that info wouldn't exactly help you other then to say you missed it by >< this much.

The only thing a line would be used for is t baggers knowing how far they are from the instant escape line so they don't miscalculate the distance and get caught before reaching it, to which its a just leave moment.

  • The 2 biggest problems would be fomo and meta. Charms would cease to be a personal customisation item that just shows more about what you like most, and it will become the same 3 charms on most of the playerbase.

  • Maybe traps that make the drones turn into turrets when triggered lol i dunno. Its kinda bothered me that the drones fly around in the trailer and yet theyve always just been a static, floating, non lethal tool in game.

I suppose that's always going to be an 'issue' with a license with a big roster of characters, because I know a lot of people wanted Daryl to be one of the main survivors with TWD chapter instead of just a Legendary. If it ever did become a full chapter, I wouldn't be shocked at Johnny Cage being one of the main survivors. Something similar to Castlevania and Witcher would work great where it's the original survivors wearing outfits from the Mortal Kombat universe. There is a lot of ways to incorporate MK into the DBD universe without it having to be an actual chapter. So hopefully one day something happens.

Im still not over the castlevania cosplays thing lol even got the forum mods to change my name to this^ i hope they never make cosplays without a legendary first - anymore. Its heartbreaking when it ends up happening to your favorite character. I even hate yui now just because of the cosplay, and Simon Belmont's cosplay was quite the slap. just looks goofy on trevor.

Though i can imagine them giving everyone MK inspired faction outfits or tshirts n stuff.

Also that downvote bandit is hitting every post today lol

  • Aww man the downvote bandit is at it again!

Shaun of the dead is an actual elite-tier survivor concept. Fully on board.

Lol when one of them goes to heal someone they can say " You've got red on you."

  • The downvote bandit sure is having a fun time in this one lol

  • Itd be tough to pick 1 character for the killer that most of the community would be happy about. Maybe Mileena or Shang tsung

  • Skull merchant and Xeno for me

    Trickster for my duo

  • I remember back when people used to tunnel off hooks just to get mori's, but you could dc and your character vanishes before they can start the mori lol.

It does seem rediculous that someone would slug the whole team, then get mad about them getting to leave early, which they would be aware of given slugging is their playstyle. Thats like getting mad at someone for not respawning, when you are spawn camping lol

    • Critters
    • The Thing
    • The Blob
    • Screamers
    • Starship trooper bugs
    • Predator
    • Zerg (starcraft)
    • Tyranids (warhammer 40k)
    • Glacius / spinal / sabrewulf / hisako (Killer Instinct)
    • Jurassic park velociraptor
    • Terminator (T-800 and T-1000)
    • ED-209 (Robocop)
    • The Leprechaun
    • Pumpkinhead
    • Hellsing ultimate
    • Lady Dimitresqu
    • Cthulhu / Dagon etc. (H.P Lovecraft)

Are all the killers off the top of my head, since xenomorph is alredy in.

as for survivors id go with survivors from

    • X - files (i love that show too)
    • Turok 3
    • Dino crisis
    • Parasite eve
    • Blood-C
    • Future Diary
    • Elfen Lied
    • Aliens and Alien resurrection legendaries for Ellen Ripley (Bishop / Analee Call)
    • Shanoa and Simon Belmont as legendaries for Trevor
    • Akame ga Kill
    • X - Com
    • Shaun of the dead
    • Fatal frame

Sorry for the long list, theres still much to hope for.

  • I used to play him every once in a while before the update. Afterwords though ive maybe tried him one time. Not a fan of the new stuff. It feels like he lost his simplicity but still works the same, so more tedious. Just lke skull merchant's stealth activation nerf.

  • They kinda skipped past Haddie's brother too. Like added him just to sell Taurie and then he never fully came into the game. Along with others like Vee's bandmates etc. Im not sure if they will skip past him too.

  • I've never really considered the game to be "scary" even since the beginning. The game was certainly darker, the killer was certainly deadlier, but it was still just a pvp game that happen to have a horror theme, Kinda like playing aliens vs predator online.

What i miss was the speed of the rounds. Used to be if you got caught only once you were likely alredy dead. And could move on to the next round. Now in order to get the same result of you dieing quickly, the killer has to go after you and you alone making it feel personal, and all your extra chances being taken away. Game did not feel that personal back then for some reason.

  • I managed to get her to 100 before the last "berf" and i havent been a fan of the new stealth activation. I'm waiting alongside you for the rework/update.

However i mained her because she was hot lol

  • Ive played it lots of times. Have not exploited the bug. Have not been banned.

Steadfast I do not like at all, Someone else on my team can force me to do the gens massively slower and there does not seem to be some way to be like "hey I don't want that" is bad. Maybe they could tone down how slow the gen goes but then I feel like people would complain about it like fast track.

I don't know why It has to have such a massive downside.

they should just rename Steadfast to Sandbag

Edit: If they want to go this way with perks, soloq communication is needed same update. I have no way in solo q to tell someone not to use this perk outside of checking there perks and following them and shaking my head at them.

My guess as to why the huge downside is mixing the perk with skill check frequency perks, allowing survivors to actively chop permanent chunks off a generators progress with each skill check (even with stakeout) would probably have quite the effect despite the slower repair speed. Especially if multiple people are on a gen getting lots of great skillchecks, itl make some generators quite difficult to defend, but thats probably just for "setting up" the final generator then saving it for last.

  • I can just imagine the meeting they would have with konomi to ask for this directly. And while they are at it they can ask for Shanaoa as a legendary skin for Trevor Belmont 😄

  • Well when they answered how they choose killers for 2v8, they consider:

1: is it simple to add (m1 killers for example)

2: does it need license permission (xeno/myers/freddy/ghoul etc)

3: does it have a counter item (dredge locks / pyramid head's box / singularity emps etc)

4: does it visually effect the map ( the first / dredge / freddy etc.)

5: does it have a status effect that can mix with others (unknown / singularity / nemisis / plague etc)

6: does it keep mosr of the team injured easily, which seems to be the one they want to avoid completely (legion / plague ).

They seem to want to add the simpler killers first, if licenses allow, and then try to figure out a way killers with items or world effects can fit into the game together, nemisis and wesker being the first success because they have the same boxes and both involve curing status effects. But complications come from stuff like having singularity and xeno where theyd have to find a way for emps and turrets to exist without flooding the map, or being useless against the opposite killer etc.

  • What helps me to push through killer anxiety is to play with a survivor mindset, where you don't worry so much about winning. Not to say you don't want to win, just going into survivor lobby feels a lot more casual because you kind of expect to lose, hope to win (based on rng and whatever the killer decides to do). If you go into killer expecting to lose, and hope to win, its easier to que up for more rounds when you aren't feeling like you "have to" outplay 4 people, but instead just play for the fun of your favorite playstyle. I play survivor about 65% of the time.

As for the 2 ideas you had i wouldn't say it was about which side it was good for. But moreso if it makes more sense in the game, as DS working on both hook states would kinda make more sense as its mainly to prevent tunneling, and if killers don't normally tunnel theyd see that as reasonable along with the survivors. But the change to fast track is something that doesn't make sense for the game as it completely obliterates the perk unless the killer is hard tunneling. Nerfing it to a point where most players wouldn't see the value of the perk anymore so they voted that down as they didn't like the idea.

  • Ive kinda just run out of stuff to do and content to enjoy ever since the end of bloodmoon. Didnt log in till the new rift, I even managed to finnish Subnautica. Ive gotten enough 100s that the one i am working on is 86 and i have no drive to get it finnished lol. Should probably save it for anniversary cakes. But even this current version of 2v8 is kinda tough to get into, so i just do the dailies for rift fragments and go back to other games.

  • Perhaps they could change anticamp altogether. Like one example being how ghost face gets revealed by close range line of sight, if you can stare directly at the killer in a certain range it fills the bar seperately alongside the main anticamp range. This makes it so killers can pressure hooks but have to stay out of sight or actualy go after people. And can still have immense pressure on basement hooks

I had a couple of crashes. PC, 2v8, drivers all up to date, verified integrity of game files, all that stuff.

Weirdly, not had one since the first night of the update so not been able ot reproduce.

There are definitely a litany of new bugs in the game though, from cosmetic to ones that impact gameplay significantly. What's especially concerning is some of these bugs should have been caught with the most rudimentary of bugtesting, such as escape music no longer playing or the gates being delayed. I really hope a change in testing philosophy, at least around the 10-year event and its content.

I think Jim the Beam is still the biggest example of how little they test for bugs lol.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

Really hoping we get an ETA on resolving the crashing issues. This is the first round of 2v8 that I actually really wanted to play, but I can't because I'll just rack up penalties from random crashing.

My duo and i played all night on steam and hadn't crashed even once. Which platform are you guys using? Or is it a 1v4 thing (we were on 2v8 the whole time)

  • Theres a particular few id love to see but have been mostly forgotten by everyone these days.

Dino Crisis : Resident evil's dinosaur variant thats been locked away since the first xbox, but seems to still have a fanbase hoping for capcom to revive the series either with remakes or a reboot. Has less characters than resident evil but the main heroine Regina is certainly a popular choice for a survivor, enough so that itd fit even as a survivor only chapter, if dinosaurs were being held off for jurassic park or something.

    DinoCrisis.jpg

Turok : started out as comics, about native americans fighting dinosaurs/aliens/mutants etc with futuristic weapons and traveling through time. More about a specific native appointed as a kind of hero of sorts, the position being called Turok. On nintendo 64 they created one of the most brutal, gory horror shooters at the time in an entire trilogy for n64. Mostly known for its very unique guns and weapons like the Cerebral Bore (fires a homing projectile that drills into your head and explodes). It has a rather interesting cast of native characters particularly in turok 3, which could fit dbd well. With many monsters/dinosaurs etc to choose for a killer.

    turok-3-artwork.jpg

The X-Files : everyones heard of Supernatural, but they were clearly inspired by the X-Files. Not many survivors to choose from but theres 2 main characters as it is a show entirely about a duo of fbi agents trying to solve supernatural cases that were never finnished before. Agents Dana Skully (she believes in all things practical and doesn't believe in supernatural things) and Fox Mulder (who had firsthand experience of the supernatural at a young age and believes firmly in the supernatural) they would certainly fit well in dbd, as theyve also alredy had their own survival horror game back in the day on ps2. Basically the show was like a giant set of mini horror movies sometimes even taking inspiration from other movies like The Thing.

    91uXiWyCAAL._AC_UF894,1000_QL80_.jpg

X-COM : one of the most brutal horror themed squad based tactics games. It took the old "grey big eyed martians taking over the world" thing and twisted it into a realistic horror game where there are no main characters because people die so easily in that series. You create your own base and elite squad much like a swat team, and shoot down U.F.Os, then secure the crash sights, mostly with aliens still alive and hiding amongst the wreckage where you have to hunt them down without any knowledge of what they are capable of, where they are, or even what they are. My favorite in the series was xcom: terror from the deep. Most seemed to find its idea funny rather than scary but it involved hunting the aliens in shot down ufos, at the bottom of the ocean. So just imagine having to walk at the bottom of the ocean, in pitch blacn darkness, hunting aliens that can see in the dark, breathe underwater, and are equipped with high tech weapons quite easily able to puncture your high pressure suit. And all you got is a harpoon gun. Seemed pretty intimidating to me. They could fit into dbd as original made survivors much like aestri and baemar with dnd, with a host of alien monsters to choose from.

  • I find hes kinda like vecna in that he requires very precise timing. Like hand of vecna lifted or blocked at the wrong time, works like zapping at the wrong time. Only doctors whole power is pallet/window blocking with precise timing, rather than having any other tools to use

  • Some other person on xbox was having troubles getting fully kicked out of the game everytime they click the continue button. (In the ask the community section). Other than that i havent had it happen to me (yet) ive played about 4 rounds only though since the patch.

  • The new William Hudson skin for ripley seems to have only lobby voicelines, none ingame. Though the one thing i wanted to know before buying him was what the voicelines were like. I couldn't get him to speak in the store, so i couldn't hear how he sounded till after buying him.

It would be nice to add alongside this voice toggle idea, a voiceline sample button in the store, so you can hear what the characters lines sound like before buying them.

  • Continue = continue to the menu where you can que for the next round

Spectate = watch the remaining survivors play because you are dead. Game over.

If continue is quitting out of the game entirely, it is a bug to be reported through their bug report page. https://app.betahub.io/projects/pr-5642738318

^from their bug report section on this forum

  • The Leshen from the witcher might be deeper toned enough to not have anxiety with artist. As that, and the Jabberwocky are both legendaries with different, deeper sound effects.

  • I also noticed the erren bundle makes buying all 3 cheaper. Even if youve alredy bought 1 it makes the other 2 only cost about 1 more. But because the cost is alredy locked in and people alredy payed for them, it may complicate turning the outfits into visceral versions which are always more expensive

  • @biscoitodastreva said:

seriously? No Mori, no theme theme, no voice???

And you can pay for it 3 times 👍

  • My first thought was "pick one, because you certainly can't afford them all" lol

Perhaps they should add a multiplying discount per legendary variant depending on if you've purchased one alredy, then 2 etc kinda like how they give charms per number of cosmetics bought in a collection. As currently i can see everyone just buying their favorite 1 and leaving the others to rot for eternity

  • Been waiting for this to be fixed, it happens with every event and makes p100s almost unable to participate in offering based events as its a waste of bloodpoints to try and get offering for them since they are extremely expensive on p100s.

  • Chat isnt the only thing oddly censored. We havent had actual underwear under skirts since the game's first skirt cosmetic lol just painted on black stuff. Yet ace gets a speedo. Meanwhile several licenses in the game come from movies with full nudity, so the players themselves have alredy seen adult stuff but sex appeal in the game is very rare. Along with gore always being toned down when most of the licenses are quite gory.

  • Its been talked about by the community quite often. Its also shown up on the surveys for most wanted licenses. The usual conclusion on the topic of a "mimic" killer is that they would be entirely dependant on solo que, and absolutely usesless against survive with friends groups who can call out your every move.

Since looking like survivors usualy gets tossed out i thought perhaps the thing could utilise different forms like dracula. As its always changing shape, breaking apart, combining with something else etc and itd be quite capable of changing into deadly attack forms. Its main weakness in the movies is that it has to pick people off 1 by 1 as its an intelligent alien capable of building spacecraft, copying memories, and acting exactly like its host. But its against armed enemies in the movie, 1 scream and everyone barrels in with a flamethrower so it relied on stealth. Dbd however its against unarmed people and can go all out without needing to hide.

  • As much as i would like to avoid playing against the same horrible person again, over time being able to block matchmaking with certain people will eventualy flood the servers with everyone blocking somebody, and itl eventualy slow matchmaking down, because the person alredy hated and blocked half the killers in their mmr so they can only be paired with the other 50%, but their group mates also have several killers blocked so there goes the other 30%, and the 3rd member has yet other killers blocked etc. Itd just overcomplicate things, slow down matchmaking, and make you end up with the same people all the time.

  • Latest thing they did to upgrade bp gains was the updating how many points you get for actions in certain categories. Barely noticeable in the longrun. Infact it seems like bp gains have been slowed down since the auto leveling was introduced around the Fnaf chapter. With event offerings being nerfed to cost double, and only allow 1 event offering/item per level 50 bloodweb causing a massive nerf to prestige 100s (who are permanently at a recycling lvl 50 bloodweb).

Its been quite the silent month in regards to updates or anything. I wouldn't expect anything about bp gains until the next anniversary roadmap gets revealed, around june.

  • I have tried third seal + cages before and it used to work. Blindness mustve changed at somepoint. And knockout was changed because everyone who just wanted to slug all 4 without hooking would be at a complete advantage if against soloque, and partial advantage against swf, but still extremely obnoxious to deal with. I don't think they want people to be unable to help eachother off hooks/cages/slug anymore.

I believe blindness is currently to counter windows of opportunity and cause survivors to waste more time finding things they often have perks for.

  • I would say bloodpoints but for some reason the game still gives the killer over 30k bp just for running around till everyone is fully slugged. If hooks were the greater bulk of a killers bloodpoints at the end of a round, itd probably be more incentivised.

  • As xeno I once had a sabo team all with no mither. Everytime i picked one up, the others would brake the nearest few hooks. If i ever left one down, theyd just recover. But, i did eventually win by hooking. As no mither still takes a bit to recover from so id slug the one who broke the hook, drop the one i was carrying, and hook the other, until they started to die off. If they arent able to get back up, 1-2 slugged/hooked people is definitely enough pressure to keep people off generators the nancy alone alredy is proof this is some kind of elite swf with a strategy that usualy works, as who would have kwon to p100 alredy besides someone in a group that always brings max bp offerings. When you detect they are all not ur ordinary random que id normally go all out as well, but i can't say ive ever relied on the full team slug strategy.

  • Its one of the few perks in the game that helps ease "killer anxiety" as playing against a team of people with flashlights/flashbangs/blastmines on discord so that they always drop in an area where if you pick them up as the killer, you are either getting hit with a pallet, or blinded by 2 people at once. This perk removes that particular stress of being in a situation where there is nothing you can do except start slugging everyone.

I don't personally rely on it myself as im confident in how to avoid blinds when picking up, but a newer or less adept player who just wants to get used to the role, usually enjoys that perk greatly and will bring it even if the team doesn't start with flashlights. Removing that perks ease of use will cause several killer players who aren't as comfortable playing that role, stop playing the role entirely as flashlight/flashbangs truly are one of the most annoying parts of playing killer role.

Working that hard to get someone down only for it to reset everytime you pick someone up is not fun, and encourages team slugging. At the very least there arent much for perks to combat sabo squads besides walking faster and farther with 2 perk slots

1 … 11 12 13 14 15 … 46
