Crossplay would be great and all but its not gonna happen soon.

They don't need to make more money off of items.

Ranking rewards not really if you are rank 1 you don't really need bp or anything else. But cosmetics would be nice.

Another gamemode definitely bc it gets boring.

FIX DEAD HARD, then fix matchmaking and ranking.

  • Demogorgon has best chase music no discussion.

But Jon has better one for doc

  • This really isn't a doctor nerf. Its just a rework. Doc wasn't anything special afterall.

No, an adept requires a double pip which is nearly impossible with Devour Hope playing a large role.

    Not nearly impossible but impossible.

  • This is never going to happen because Scott (creator of fnaf) would never allow his storyline to get interrupted by a game like dbd. If you followed the story you can understand this because it has been really messy and its not yet fully discovered.

I'm talking about in general with zero regard for the emblem system.

Ok I see where you're getting at and I agree that lower tier killers can't 4k every time playing with "zero regard for the emblems". But you can at least agree that top tier killers with a person with basic game knowledge and a few tricks up their sleeve could get a lot of hooks/kills every game and barely safety pip.

  • But we are not talking about a fair killer. We are talking about slugger, tunneler, camper. All of those things are a waste of time for survivors and makes them do mistakes. Maybe not true for best red ranks but yeah.

(My comment got lost after I edited it so this is a shorter version.)

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/964770#Comment_964770

    "they can 4k every game"

Again, that's really not true, though. Maybe with the best Killers it's pooooossible with some luck, but once you start going to not top tier Killers, that ain't really happening unless you are deliberately staying in low ranks somehow.

But we are not talking about ethical gameplay meaning we are talking about a killer that slugs, camps, tunnels. If a killer slugs its a big waste of time for survivors, if the killer tunnels its a 1 person off the game pretty quick and everything goes downhill for the survivors. This might not be true in red ranks but a red rank killer could easily do this although its unlikely.

Hmm.. this is already a thing. PS4 has the built in option to record the last x minutes of gameplay and there are a bunch of different recording software on pc. Not sure about xbox, but it's probably similar to ps4... or are you asking for something that can view other people's perspectives as well?

That is precisely what I suggest. I mean everyone with a decent PC can record. This would also be a great thing for people that can't record such as myself because we could record the game /specific moments afterwards with 60 fps on a higher resolution.

  • @TAG said:

That really is not true. Even if it was, Survivors only have to escape to get their Adept achievements, which is not exactly balanced compared to Killer Adepts

Right I agree with that but what I was taking about is not that killer can easily get adept achievement but that they can 4k every game which is not necessarily a merciless. If survivors need to escape balanced thing would be for a killer to get a 4k and not merciless bc survivors don't need to 2pip and killers do.

  • They won't change that because a decent killer can 4k almost every single game. Cuz slugging, camping and tunneling. Ranking system right now isn't really great but at least it keeps most of the killers from being toxic.

  • Just run agitation and iron grasp.

Hook on normal hooks and remember who you hooked how many times. By the time 2 or 3 gens are left you should really have 2 surv dead and at least 1 more on death hook. From that point its just if you tunnel for 4k bc with 2 gens left and 2 surv left its pretty much gg.

  • I just told my team before we started the match. One brought a toolbox so did I. I put on prove thyself. The other two guys were looping the killer and it was a pretty good match.

Another tip: DO NOT get caught first. If you do you can forget about the challenge that round.

  • BHVR needs to put a pole about stuff like this to see what the community wants. Most of these suggestions are really freaking good and they should consider them.

  • I'm huntress main and let me tell ya iri heads are really not fun to play with nor to play against. You are rarely gonna find a huntress with iri. I almost never use them and if I ever do I make sure that I'm not toxic and give surv a chance if they are not the best in the world.

    And I agree with him:

Nope, I said I didn't think they were a problem. I can see how my saying that they are dodgable and have a downside could come across like I'm saying they're balanced, so I apologise for the misunderstanding because that's not what I meant. My only motivation in saying that was to try to keep people's feet on the ground a bit by reminding them that iri heads aren't as monstrously unfair as many people like to pretend.

I think they're probably one of the more balanced add-ons, as killer ultra rares go, but it would be foolish of me to suggest that they don't tip the game in the killer's favour. I just don't think that's a problem from a design perspective. I do think ultra rares are a problem, but not because of how they're designed, only because of how common they are.

On lvl 50 you find avg 2 iri heads in each bloodweb which is too common for a ultra rare.

  • @SeenThisBefore said:

I feel it's very pointless to elaborate because you're just gonna attempt to refute with more flawed logic and ideas. But here goes nothing:

Removing features from the game like Keys and Moris, 2 things that make games slightly different and result in different possible outcomes, is just asinine. You're attempting to work towards a boring, vanilla, straightforward and bland experience. They are just fine. If you want to complain, rewind to back when you didn't have to hook someone to mori them, that shiz was horrible and easy.

Matchmaking, well, you're onto something here. For me personally, as a red rank killer and survivor, killer lobbies take a few seconds to find a game, while survivor takes several minutes, and that for me is really really annoying, especially when the game fails to load and I'm forced to wait in another long ass queue, or I get into a lobby with a bunch of people who crouch walk around the map and don't do gens, morons rather. I remember 2-3 years ago, when you were red rank, you knew you were getting decent teammates and made for a fun competitive experience, now with the dumbass rank changes they made, you get what would have been yellow and silver ranks in red ranks. Changes definitely needed there, or reverted, rather.

The SWF idea is just, terrible. Awful on every front. Yes you're gonna get sweaty tryhard 4-man SWFs, it's gonna happen. That's part of the game. But making it longer to take gens, yeah, no. That would ruin it even more for the casual players who just want to play with their friend.

Map design does need changes, but not like you're suggesting. They need to add more tiles in the empty parts of the maps and add a few more pallets. where there used to be. "WAHHHH! Game is too survivor sided!" No it's not, you're just unskilled.

Ok maybe the moris and keys don't need to be removed completely just nerfed.

SWF idea really isn't that terrible gen progress is really fast on its own.

And what really shocked me.. there needs to be more pallets lol? You want killer to not be able to move around the map at all? If you have chaining loops and you can use them for 3-4 or more minutes with dropping 3 pallets why would you need more pallets and you call me unskilled while you want more pallets around the map. Even without chaining loops which are a big problem if 1 skilled survivor uses every pallet to its fullest potential the killer can be distracted for the whole game.

  • @SeenThisBefore said:

This just seems like a cry post. All these ideas are terrible.

I actually screwed myself out of getting this because I have started eating that first hit rather than using pallets. I could have probably had it first attempt if I pallet camped and tried for it, instead it was the last one of level 4 I got done. I left it selected forever and just this morning got a farming bubba!

Idk man, playing as killer on Xbox is fairly simple and fun. You do get toxic survivors but I can still clean house of reds and not be toxic, tunnel, etc. I try my best for Jump surprises and tormenting them in a fun way. I get messages quite often about how fun I was to play against.

Yeah you see people on PC unfortunately aren't that excited to get "tormented" in a fun way hahah I mean I get you I totally do that to but then the comments are unbelievable xd and I would say 1 in 20 matches we get fun match etc.

That’s the thing I didn’t like, a lot of them were actually super easy if you didn’t mind tanking your team. Meaning the first few days of each new level you almost never get a “real game.” Teammates just throwing pallets like they’re going to expire, or refusing to do any gens or unhook people while they loot chests.

At least the ones that require cleanse totems or healing other players will help the team in some way.

My point exactly. They were practically promoting not being useful to the team cuz who gets 4 stuns in 1 game. You loop and drop a pallet if they get bloodlust and you sometimes get a stun.

  • This challenges were actually mostly fine.

People complain about complete 4 gens with dark sense. Well that's a real challenge. It wouldn't be much of a challenge if it was that easy now would it?

But the ones that you have to play 10 games were really annoying. For example search 12 chests. If you want to pip and at the same time do the challenge you can search 1 maybe 2 chests if you don't want to completely leave your team hanging.

And the one with 4 stuns in 1 game. This challenge f'd up all of the red ranks. People started throwing pallets for no reason, they were competing who is getting chased and no one was doing gens.

  • They should be removed completely end of discussion.

    Using a mori=toxic

    Using a key=toxic

    Both game mechanics are broken.

If you rework moris as you said you can just tunnel and adapt the way to kill one particular survivor.

If you rework keys as you said 1 person escapes, leaves the others to do gens, if the timer starts you doomed all of them and that would be toxic for both sides.

  • Toxicity in dbd is mostly in green and purple ranks. They might be competitive but they aren't as good at the game as they think they are. Red ranks is like so good, you get a tunneler or camper here and there but in red ranks everyone understands what they did wrong and don't talk shiz.

  • @BagelLord said:

I have been seriously wondering this for a while, I understand it technically is a way for all survivors to escape without gates, but that's only when all gens are finished either way. The way it works is for 1 survivor to get hatch spawned is that everyone else is dead, and every other amount of survivors require 1+however many are left alive to even spawn in the first place. I frequently see keys being held on an even level with moris, and I simply don't understand why.

Its a broken mechanic of this game. Killers get annoyed if 2-3 people escape and they didn't deserve it, you play well the whole game- you don't slug, tunnel or camp, you know you're on your way to 2 pip. And then 2 people escape you close the hatch 1 man left and maybe if you catch him you pip.

Or if they t-bag on the hatch. Like they think they're good at the game because they found the hatch and say ez in chat. I meaaan.. this community dude..

  • There is a very simple solution for this.

For every swf in a team -5% gen progress. For example 2 swf and 2 solo = -10% gen progress for everyone, which could of course be countered with perks like resilience.

  • @csandman1977 said:

I hate hex perks in general. I get high risk high reward, but outside of brown and yellow ranks it's all risk no reward.

Make the perks a little weaker and remove the hex part.

Ruin - remove great skill checks

Lullaby - game long 3rd level or no noise notification for 60 seconds after being unhooked. I prefer the first one

3rd seal - no aura when on hook

Haunted ground - Survivors are exposed when within a certain range of dull totem. Most of which will spawn near generators

Devour hope - (my favorite perk) 2 hooks - mangled on hit, 4 hooks - aura blind when injured, 6 hooks - oblivious when injured, 8 hooks, mori when on death hook (not set in stone just ideas)

Thrill of the hunt - remove scratch marks get 100% more blood points at and of game

I would just prefer weaker perks that last all game or at last more than 20 seconds

Oh wow I really like the Devour idea.

I mean, they had that weird YouTube video leak about pennywise, but does the game need 2 clowns? I would love it, but I hate that they already have a clown in the game...

I mean you have a point, but wouldn't it be exciting to see what they would to with him. I mean the perks and his power. We need something new. The Oni chapter is lame imo and I don't really like the story, it wasn't special at all. The killer doesn't really have any new special feature that we didn't see before. Just imagine what they could do with Pennywise.

  • Pennywise.

This would totally bring back the scared sensation to the game and personally I would love it.

  • @immortalls96 said:

So the hag is one of my favorites. She is highly underused because her power is strategy over brutality and it's not easy to adapt to her style of play..that being said I feel as others do that one simple change would help her quite a bit on larger maps and possibly encourage more people to play her, I am of course mentioning the change to give her traps infinite teleporting range. Based off this her range addons would need reworking however her iri addon would still have the on demand teleporting which is the primary reason to grab it.

On a lot of maps this wouldnt change hag a lot but on larger maps it should help her map pressure just a tad more and smoothen out her gameplay..other than that I really cant say hag has any major problems to address which is what is nice about her..she one of the few killers that can be polished easily as she doesnt need much..its a popular idea from her but I've never heard what the devs thing if this, large maps are troublesome for most killers but for hag those few times you cant teleport can ruin you in a way that feels like you were robbed..So I wonder..would this be something youd consider?

You do understand that that would be OP?

Imo hag should stay the way she is. It's true that she's hard to play, but boy oh boy when you learn how to play her then it's more fun to play her than any other killer and she rarely loses.

I love how people's argument for not doing it is PC would crush us, yet US CONSOLE players are mostly the ones who want it. And how do you know we would have a disadvantage on something that hasn't even been tried and tested? We have bad frame rate on console, yet some players can still dominate. Your telling me we couldn't keep up? I call horse 💩💩💩! To make an assumption without having zero evidence to back it up is stupid. We at least deserve the chance, or we can just keep waiting in que hell forever to get a match when it's not peak time...

Hell yeah I totally agree with this guy.

    Edit: Pun not intended xd

  • Those are not really that useful because she is meant for quickly ending chases(at least thats how I do it).

Best perk combo imo is ruin/lullaby (started using lullaby because people in red ranks don't care about skill checks that much so they don't really look for the totem so I get a lot of information if it stays up long), I also love BBQ for sniping and information, nurses calling and thanatophobia because if there's a lot of people in one place I'm not gonna go for 1 I try to hit as many as I can and then down and that's when nurses and bbq come in place when you hook 1 survivor if people are healing and not doing gens you pretty much have won.

    Huntress main btw :)

  • I agree. This challenges promote not being useful to your team. For example the 4 stuns in 1 game makes red ranks just start dropping pallets for nothing which makes us lose the game, but that's why it's a challenge and it's the risk you're taking if you think about doing them.

  • Ruin is completely fine. In your ranks killers aren't as good either so you can take your time doing a gen or you can stop being scared and look for totem. That's how you'll learn how to play.

  • Its not toxic at all. You just need to have patience and concentration.

Did it with a spirit at red ranks (haunted, agitation, sloppy, bbq, duration and recovery addons). Start hooking survivors on any hook as fast as you can. Keep track of how many times you hooked each survivor. Get rid of pallets near your basement (for me it was just 1 pallet in shack on a farm map). Keep gen pressure and when they do 1-2 gens kill 1 person and push them to shack/basement. Try to use haunted or devour because those would help you a lot. If you're in a chase and haunted pops down your survivor fast and instantly search for next survivor so you can use your perks.

The game can't even reach up to 30FPS on console consistently. It hovers more so around 20-25. Also, there is a massive sensitivity disparity on console. Right now, these issues would put console players at an insane disadvantage verse PC players.

Why would people even play that. Its unacceptable. A game like dbd has to be optimised to 60 fps.

  • @Kanes_Inferno said:

I think if it happens it’ll likely be console players vs other console players (Xbox, PS4, and Switch playing together). I doubt they do PC vs Consoles. However they do it I would be happy, though. Shorter lobby times and higher pool of players to keep ranks closer. I really hope that once dedicated servers hit PS4 and Xbox that crossplay becomes a thing.

    I agree :)

  • @deadbyhitbox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/114949/cross-platform

Once the console disadvantages are addressed, hopefully.

What are their disadvantages? If you mean controller can't they just plug in keyboard and mouse?

  • Ok so here's how I did it. Spirit: haunted, sloppy, bbq, agitation, addons for duration and recovery speed. I did this without camping or being toxic. So the way to do this is when you find your first survivor you down them qickly and instantly look for the next one without hooking the first one because about now is the time your haunted should pop unless the survivors are super cautious. Down the second and hook both on random hooks cuz getting them to basement is a waste of time unless you want to camp which I don't suggest. Keep gen pressure and down when possible and during chases try to get rid of the pallets around the basement (mine was the shack on a farm map so only 1 pallet). When 1 or 2 survivors are on last hook kill one of them and focus on getting everyone on last hook. When theres 1 or 2 gens left kill one more and pressure them to the basement. Down 3rd and slug the last one.
