I like this a lot, it's pretty cool. A great way to make an alternate 'doctor' style killer. Would love this in the game.
-
It's not the kind of rng you're probably thinking of; rather than a % chance to remove the trap when you search a lockbox, it works like this:
At the start of the game all boxes are spawned, and 4 'keys' are randomly placed in each box. There is no limit to where the keys can go, so a box could theoretically have all 4 keys or no keys at all. Each 'key' corresponds to one of the pigs traps. When you get a trap put on your head, you must look for the box with the correct key. Once you've searched through the box with the key that corresponds to the trap on your head the trap is removed.
It's a little more complicated but it makes sense. Think of it as if pig herself had placed the keys in the boxes before the trial started.

Nurse isn't garbage, she's just not fun.

I'm against any killer nerf but love the new sound he makes. Just laugh everytime he does it so more fun to go against him now.
WRAAAAAAAH
The fact he has literally one sound for his charge speaks volumes to me about how much effort goes into the games tbh. Even the grunts in Titanfall 2 have more voicelines, and they're bloody NPCs. There needs to be 3-5 fairly unique lines for him charging. I'm sure BHVR definitely didn't record only 1 take of the line.

Mostly a good list, but I'd disagree with the following:OoO, soul guard, Distortion, Windows of Opportunity and No Mither. No Mither gets a lot of #########, and people think it needs buffed. It doesn't. The problem with it is unbreakable. Now that's a perk that needs nerfed. Being able to pick yourself off the ground should require a heavy cost in order to be balanced.
I think at the very least, No Mother should have the recovery speed, while Unbreakable has only the base.

This is why I laugh when I read things about No DS means the killer will be "nicer". 😂
The problem isn't with tunneling itself, the problem is that survivors have almost no options without perks like DS. Which in turn, turns the perk meta, because every single killer wants that easy down.
No killer should be limited to how they want to play, but also no survivor should be limited to options either.
Tbh I'd rather DS get buffed (against tunneling) if it means I can get 2 hooks on 2 different people and not get DS'd by the third.

I don't play survivor, I just think a Mori add-on should have some kind of tell.

There is a tell. If Myers has the addon, his hand is open and ready to grab.
His open hand is based on his movespeed, not whether or not he has the add-on. It's an assumption brought about by the pink tombstone reducing movespeed.

If we're going to start showing survivors the stronger add ons a killer takes then killers should be given the exact same information on the survivors end. While we're at it, killers should be shown who is partied together in lobbies. Surviving with friends is much stronger than any add on, perk, or ability in the game.
I don't disagree on some of your points, however you have to admit a Mori add-on should show, jus tas the offerings should be changed.

Incorrect, his hand is based on movement speed, not the add-ons. If you have the pink and pwyf you can see this clearly
-
Imo while the piece is strong, what they really need is a tell that lets survivors know myers is using them. Other than that, the pink is kinda meh, the purple is stronger but at the end of the day if you know Myers had them you'd be able to jump in a locker or something when you saw it.

Not the same dude, but obviously we can't just use the top tryhards. It's just a shame we can't filter out both surv and killer potatoes from the data.

Because you're going 30% faster. That means you work at 130% or 1.3 charges per second. 100 charges divided by 1.3 charges per second is 77 seconds.
70 seconds would be if the action took 30% less time which would be an increase of about 43% speed.
It's probably easier in terms of 50%. If you act 50% faster, that's 150% speed, and you complete something in 2/3 the time. But if you want to complete something in 50% of the time, you would need to act twice as fast which would be a 100% speed increase.
Ah ,yeah, cheers. I didn't grok it was the charges being increased and not the time itself. Thanks for the explanation!

People have been asking for underused perks to be buffed for years, and yet again there is another update in which they spent 0 time whatsoever. I don't understand what's so hard about getting a single intern to tweak the values of say 3-5 surv and killer perks.

I never said that it was meant to be but wanted to point out that it isn't really a counter. I already stated why. At some point with experience you're able to easily deduce what perks the Killer is running including A Nurse's Calling and especially BBQ. I usually always assume killers are running those perks so I always play in a way to minimize providing opportunities.
Fair enough, there's someone else on this thread downright saying distortion only has three charges so it can't be used to help counter BBQ, got you two mixed up.
-
What pisses me off about the roar thing billy has is that there's no variations to it. It's (if it's the same as ptb) one ######### sound file that plays every time he uses his power. Put some ######### effort in and make at least 3-5 sound bites so this game doesn't stink of low-effort.

Hillybilly is a skillshot and can't change his trajectory much.
Oni would need to be inside his power which requires M1s.
Nurse can be juked.
Spirit landing a hit on a healthy sprint bursting survivor in phase is unlikely.
Huntress and deathslinger are not instant downs and they are 110 killers.
Wraith and pig cannot catch up with a sprint bursting survivor unless you are very lucky.
Only Bubba can sprint burst after them, and then some, with an easy to land AOE instant down right off the bat.
Then clearly bubba's power requires a different method to counter. Perhaps not waiting for the last second to sprint burst.

#2 doesn't work, you can distinguish the generator from a survivor.
#3 it's limited to 3x so a partial counter.
One balance change could be that you only earn tokens by not hooking anyone more than once before you hook the others. I'm not sure of the exact mechanics but it could be an interesting way to really discourage tunneling and encourage the killer to seek out other survivors.
I don't know about the current auras (they went live at like 2am my time) but with the old auras, as long as you were decently behind the generator it would be tough for the killer to find you, and they'd probably go for the other two (more obvious) survivors anyways.
Distortion isn't meant to be used as a 'dodge all auras' perk. You run it, and keep an eye on the charges, knowledge of the situations in which a charge depletes lets you infer what perk the killer has. For example, vault in chase and lose a stack? I'm All Ears. Killer hooks someone? BBQ. You're healing inside TR? A Nurses Calling. Against a Myers who sent you to Leary's? Jumpscare Myers.
Once you've used distortion to determine what perks the killer is running you can be more efficient in using the other methods you have at your disposal to avoid having your aura revealed.

Pigs dash amd Myers tier 3 counter it
Pigs dash isn't a lunge and Myers T3 is very specifically an alternated lunge with 1 extra metre of range.
Pigs dash doesn't even count as a basic attack, not to mention both require using a specific killers power when most people who aren't pedantic arseholes would understand I was talking about a standard unaltered hold-m1 lunge.

All killers have the same lunge range...

Imo all the add-ons and perks that give bonus BP should applying after the game is over, like BBQ does. There's no reason for them not to.

You should check out Scorpionz on Twitch then. He's a "Unicorn Nurse" manages to get plenty of 4Ks with addon less and only using the perk Shadowborn. Proving she's still strong in the right hands. :)
Tbh I think the nurse needs her old basekit, not for balance, but because current nurse spends more time waiting for ######### to go on/off cooldown than actually playing the game. While she's still strong, it's just boring to play her no matter how well you do due to half her gameplay being waiting. Removing the charges also massively improves QoL relating to things like [99% charged power due to ping] and a couple of game losing bugs, such as the one that makes you permanently lose a blink charge for the rest of the match.

Because each thing that helps you get off the ground has a condition itself
Soul guard to unlock the effect you have to have been cursed by a hex if the killer doesn't have a hex Totem, the Hex totem gets cleansed or you weren't affected by it by the time you get down and you won't be able to use it for this reason there's no need to have an indicator or another condition.
No mither give you the ability to constantly and repeatedly get up off the ground however in return in not only makes you injured but give the killer a notification this way the killer to the make the choice in whether slugging you is appropriate or not. No one's going to waste a time to go over and pick up someone with no mither
Unbreakable the condition of this perk is that it only has a one-time use both of the perks above can be used endlessly with this perk you get one use if you waste it it's gone
Unbreakables faster recovery never goes away and is almost strong enough to be a perk in its own right. This isn't even counting that escaping as survivor with only three perks isn't incredibly difficult.
-
@SloppyKnockout said:
It has one already. You can only use it once, and then you have a perk slot that isn't being used.
That would be a big downside if it weren't pretty easy to escape with only 3 perks.
-
That's interesting, but why not just make noed only affect those on death hook?

Sorry to say that's just not how people work. If I run the killer for 5 minutes and see that a Claude was literally hiding in basement the entire time I'm going to let them take the pressure.
Someone doing nothing is as good as dead, the least they can do is distract the killer, or (even easier) hold bloody M1 on a gen.

Im not a dev but I think there are different kind of bugs with different urgencies and difficulties. I dont know about that charge bug on nurse.
Further more I dont think a list of bug fixes will prove any bias. How would it?
Maybe to dive a little bit deeper here, which bug is more important? A bug that affects 4 of 5 people, or a bug that affects 1 out of five and can be avoided for the time being by picking another playable character. Im not saying its ok for any bug to be not fixed, but I think there are maybe more urgent problems and certain fixes that would take a lot of time should be delayed for that.
While it may be an uncommon bug, the speedy nurse one was just as uncommon. They're both game-ruining bugs, and surely "it's patched because it affects 4/5 players" is admitting that they favour survivors.
-
@T2K said:
Hm, I thought quite different about it. I dont think slugging got popular because the sabotage meta. When they saboed hooks which didnt respawn everyone was running iron grasp and hooked them in the basement. So I experienced an iron grasp/agiation thing going on because of saboing. But that was quite back then. Later on sabo got a hype again, but didnt make it to meta imo. You needed a full 4 man with certain perks to attempt it. It was more like a fun/meme thing. But that was the time when no mither and unbreakable was already a thing. The best option was always playing for basement in these games.
Keep also in mind the game was a totally different experience in the old days. Playstyles, skill, killers, hook spawns, survs, maps etc advanced up to now.
I dont think slugging was rooted because of sabo. I think it got so popular because of realizing the strength in it. Also now slugging is really strong even though there are all the anti slug perks. I think the hatch mechanic promoted slugging even more.
I dont really understand your point about biased balance towards survs. You explained yourself that there were things implemented on both sides changing things up. Mby you can clarify to me
If I were the OP, I'd use the bug fixes as examples of survivor bias; nurse gets a hard-to-pull-off bug that lets her move super fast? Instantly patched. Nurse has a bug that causes her to permanently lose a bunk charge? Been in the game since her rework.

Would you consider 85% majority?
85% would disagree with griefing regardless of how the other(s) have played
The sample size is too small, and in any case I know if I have yet another coward teammate who won't even do the last generator while I'm being chased for minutes, then I'm going to sell them out so *I* can escape/do the last gen while they're being chased.

We shouldn’t speculate on stuff like that, and it’s irrelevant anyway.
Whether a player perceives another survivor as playing “right” or “wrong” still doesn’t make it ok to kite or sandbag the killer into someone else. It’s never cool.
I'd argue that the majority of people would be fine with sandbagging the Claudette hiding in basement while you loop the killer for 10mins; as with all thing context does still matter.

It's a fun perk but not something you'd run in solo games. With how bad some randoms are you need to run a decent build in order to do well. Head-on is a perk that is only really good in a swf of some kind.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1452573#Comment_1452573
It's one of those where the killer won't find the build fun to face. It's less fun than facing a squad who can loop and rush gens effectively, but a much better chance of getting the 4k. I wouldn't understand the survivors being toxic after the game but I do understand them saying that they were just having a meme game.
I don't think head on is that bad; if you want to go full head-on you can still make a good solo build: Head On, Inner Strength, QnQ, DS/IW. That's pretty much my go-to solo build if I wanna have some fun and it works very well.
