there is my idea for make the perk a bit better:
- Survivors who start cleanse Any Totem will suffer from the Oblivious Status Effect, This effect persists on the survivor for 35/40/45 seconds after leave or cleanse the Totem.
- If Any Totem is cleansed, including this one, the Auras of all Survivors are revealed to you for 10 seconds.
- The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.
but you gonna need thrill of the hunt anyways
I want this perk if only so we get more decent perks to shake up the meta.

unfortunately this isnt very reliable, Scott Jund did a test, the shards only slightly change on a few skins, and does not always happen 100% of the time
True, though most spirits aren't aware that it's possible to see at all; you aren't supposed to play around the survivors knowing exactly when you power when you play spirit.

My god most of these comments are so one sided. "Killers should be able to dodge bullies/SWF etc" goes both sides may I remind you. Then why don't we let survivors killer profiles too so they know when they are facing mori users or iridescent head using huntresses. Contrary to the general opinion, survivors aren't the "evil side" who does the only bullying. But we can't give both sides this much of information, even survivors being able to see each others ranks around a year ago caused so many lobby dodgers and such long queue times. If you really wanna make it viable and fair, neither side should know much about what they are facing.
If you're on pc I think there's a program someone wrote that lets you see who the killer is.

Memes half the time. Problem is doing full head-on games is considered "toxic". Killers get very toxic after meme games since they see it as "4 man swf bully".
Head on is a fun perk to play with. Playing against a 4man on Comms spamming it may result in a 3-4k due to the survs ######### around, but it's not fun in the slightest for the killer.

Oh, that's good to know. I'll try to look out for that the next time I'm unfortunate enough to be that close to a spirit.
Yeh, it doesn't seem like much but it's really good for looping and mindgames

Iirc it's technically a bug, but her glass shards change colour/transparency when she phases, easiest to see when you're close to her.

Played against a Spirit yesterday and lost a 50/50 at a pallet, because let's be real, there's no way you can know which side of the pallet she's going to be on. Feels very uninteresting to lose to that.
It reminds me of that saying: "I only need to be lucky once. You need to be lucky every time." Because once you're injured, all mindgames are off the table and you are bound to go down.
Luckily, I don't face her very often. It's mostly been Legion, Huntress, Ghostface and Deathslinger this week.
When you're that close, you can see when she uses her power.

Why do you think this game is a "childs" game if half of it is aimed at making you feel uneasy at least and other half is nightmare fuel, starting from "too real for a game" company that "cares" about its employees enough to put their lifes at risk for nothing and finishing with a lot of gore, murders and springlocks failure.
You may not like, I get it, people can have different taste, but for the love of god, stop saying the game is "for children" because it didn't scare you, bc that's the most childish behaviour possible.
Besides, people think Springtrap is creepy EVEN from a few "notveryrealistic" screenshots and short animations from FnaF, imagine how detailed and scary he would be in DbD, knowing how much effort does BHVR put in visuals. He'll be near Demogorgon level for sure.
I'd argue that visuals play far less of an impact with something like springtrap. His lore and *especially* sound design would be far more important. I don't trust BHVR for ######### when it comes to sound, and without prior knowledge of what springtrap is there are scarier animatronic beings out there.

For the umpteenth time, that ship has sailed. Everyone gets the same treatment, and that means lore expansions that may or may not include relationships for everyone.
And for the umpteenth time, my opinion is they shouldn't have done that in the first place, so I don't want them to continue. It's literally that simple. It's not about treating everyone the same. It's not about not representing anyone, it's just about my opinion that they shouldn't have done it in the first place and shouldn't continue.
Hell focusing on xxx survivor doing some human thing to show how human they are is mediocre lore considering this is a game with magical killers and Eldrich gods. Cut down the lore and focus on those aspects.

Eh are you sure about that, I'd say her one problem is that survivors dont get enough feed back with her and it just turns into a guessing game, shes not fun at all to play against. And new billy isnt fun to play since you brought him up, they should remove or rework how the overheat mechanic works.
If the problem is that survivors don't get enough feedback, then give them a little more, don't take away from spirit.

By that statement everything that has previously been released about a character something you should hate.
When are you new outfit comes out that sheds more light about a character you should hate it because it's revealing more and changing your perspective.
You should hate the archives because it's literally changing what we know about the characters and adding new bits of information.
Revealing that Claudette has autism shed new light on her and changed what we knew about her but it never changed her character.
Revealing that David had a girlfriend sheds new light as we learn new stuff about him but it doesn't change his character.
The problem that people have is that they've made a point to keep everything ambiguous and up to the players decisions however this is not something they have stuck to as they revealed several characters to be straight
David having an ex girlfriend
Nurse having an ex husband
Wraith having a thing with nurse
Oni having a family ( this is understandable because lineage for Rin but still)
Frank dating Julie.
Julie dating Frank.
Ace having several cosmetics reveal him to be a ladies man.
If they made Min lesbian or Joey bi all it would do like with the examples I said above would shed light on the characters but not actually change anything about them.
Writing a character who doesn't just completely revolve around their sexuality is easy.
You write a good and compelling character first and then you could add the fact that they are LGBT.
A lot of people ask created to just new characters that are LGBT but at that stage you're literally creating a character solely to revolve around their identity. Not seeing it can't or shouldn't be done I'm just saying it doesn't it make it counterintuitive to what a lot of people who are against it ask for.
Pretty sure they said Claudette didn't have autism in the end. I see where you're coming from though, I just personally wish they kept things vague so people can self insert easier, and I don't trust people at all to write gay characters in a way that doesn't just end up as some stereotype.
I'm actually surprised they didn't make David gay considering like 90% of the rule 34 on DbD consists of David and some other male character lmfao.

They already have a character who is LGBT (note the other letters, LGBT isn't just about gay men) and they deserve the same treatment as heterosexuals got. Let's not pretend headcanons/fan fictions are affected by canon.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1440350#Comment_1440350
That's what LGBT people have been asking, to be treated the same. If this was about non-LGBT lore, nobody would've made this many threads. There was no opposition to the rifts in regards to their expansion of the lore, as far as I know, it was all about the battle pass-like system. Why doesn't LGBT lore get the same treatment?
Im well aware LGBT isn't just about gay men. When I said gay I just meant homosexual.
So why not leave the mystery of which character is LGBT so people get to keep their toons headcanon nicely, and make new LGBT characters? They don't even have to wait, they did like 3 original survivors in a row that were all variations on self-reliant woman, so they can easily do 3 different survivors who happen to be LGBT.

Well thanks for the info tho i did not know he was created that way. And only changed after death ? Weird. Interesting and weird.
Yeah, from what I'm aware the creator adamantly wanted SpongeBob to remain asexual both due to being a sea sponge and the way he wrote SpongeBob kinda shows he's never really attracted to anyone. After he died Nickelodeon just went and ######### with the creation for free internet points. SpongeBob was literally already LGBT so making him gay just to get in the news kinda proves it.

They were restricting themselves. Note the "self-" in "self-censor". You can claim it's taking characters after the fact, but if that were so, why would they announce that one character they'd released was LGBT and then do nothing with it for over a year?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1440333#Comment_1440333
They were already explicit about heterosexuals. That ship has sailed. There is absolutely no reason not to give LGBT characters the same treatment.
You know what else would stop these fights? People giving LGBT lore the same treatment as non-LGBT lore; that is, pay no attention to it whatsoever.
Then make a new character who's gay, it isn't difficult. My argument is based on the fact that people are attached to their toons, and letting them have more say over their toon is better.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1440320#Comment_1440320
My apologies for assuming, then. However, that doesn't change the fact that that ship has sailed. There's no reason for them to self-censor and restrict it to heterosexual characters and relationships.
That's the thing though, they don't need to restrict it to hetero stuff. Just make it vague; call bf/gfs SOs or lovers etc. The beauty of the og 4 is that you *don't* know which is the LGBT one, so you can comfortably just identify with the one you want to be LGBT, and not have the Devs say 'ummm ackchually xxx is the gay one, you're canonically wrong.'
It'd also stop pretentious fights over ######### character sexuality on a bloody video game forum.

You can always self-insert anyway, it's not like having a well-established lore deters headcanons/fan fictions.
I did oppose the rift; imo BHVR should have focused on literally anything else to make the game healthier, rather than confine themselves to constant battle-pass and (insert completely ignored mechanic here). Imagine if they devoted their battlepass guys to basic number changes to mess with the meta, the game would actually change and you wouldn't see the same 6 perks every game.

No characters are going to be changed, their lore is going to be expanded. We know for a fact that at least one of them is LGBT, according to the devs. It's unfortunate that you didn't oppose the creation of the Rifts, which expand the lore for already-released characters, because now there's no reason to keep doing it.

I don't want their personalities expanded on, idm if their lore expands in the sense of what they did in life that got them there. Basically I just want them vague enough that anyone can self insert with any of the survivors. Just using vague pronouns and understandable emotional reactions is enough.
Man I just want my vague template to remain vague and template-y.

Since they haven’t been confirmed straight, no changing would be happening whatsoever.
even Nurse could be bisexual as far as we know.
Changing in this case means not being ambiguous anymore. As I said, I'd prefer their personalities to remain as blank as possible in order to allow the people playing themselves to project themselves on them.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1437834#Comment_1437834
You are indeed wrong. Nurse has been said to have a husband and Frank and Julie (Legion) have an extensive lore that's literally all about their relationship and how it was a driving force behind the Legion, just to name the biggest examples. Neither received any complaints.
I ain't the same dude, but IMO I don't want the characters already released to be changed, I'd prefer them all to remain rather ambiguous in regards to their personality itself so that any personality we've projected onto them feels good.
If they add a new dude and make them gay/bi/whatever that's fine, but leave the older characters as they are.

SpongeBob is asexual, and has been since his creator said he was. This was confirmed like a decade ago. Not only does it make sense character wise, sea sponges irl reproduce asexualy too.
His creator died and so Nickelodeon changed it so they could make the news again. If they did care and/or respect either the creation, the creator, or the fans they'd have left him asexual.

You could argue the opposite; killers have been playing how they do because survivors keep running those perks. IMO stacking them is ######### annoying, and I don't go a single game in which there's no one using the classic 4 perks.
At the end of the day, I think BHVR should change *more* perks overall, even if it's just small number tweaks. Just like every other game does in order to keep the meta from getting stale.
Get like 2 dudes to modify the values of say 25% of the perks in the game for every update so we all get to experiment with new combos. What the perks do doesn't have to change at all, just fiddle with the values every now and then.
-
@Every1poops said:
I would like to see perks put into categories and then not let two perks of the same category not be stacked.
Ex; Unbreakable and Decisive would be labeled as a "Second Chance" perk thus not be able to be run together
Same rule would apply to killers as well.
Corrupt intervention and Ruin would be labeled as "Generator Slow Down" so they also couldn't be paired together.
It would force players to look outside the meta and try to discover cool interactions
But the Devs are trash at the game, they'd probably count thrilling tremors as a slowdown perk.

In terms of emblems, though less so in terms of points. If you drop a player over hatch, and they get it within a few seconds of being dropped, a "mercy" bloodpoint action should be granted, along with the emblem points for a kill. You've already won the match at that point, doing so is simply a kindness
Bloodpoints should be far less though, something like 200 points makes sense. Small bonus, as a kill/hook should always, always count for more and in most cases be prioritized.
Doing so would promote killer compassion/let survivors a killer deems good enough for it, access to it without them feeling their losing out on points or emblems.
Should not be granted If survivors escape.
Also add survival bloodpoints to being healed by another player, makes sense as it occurs with mending
Edit: I also wouldn't want it to become a situation of "you didn't give me hatch, therefore your an #########" just a situation where both sides benefit, with killers to a lesser degree then normal but more encouraged/looked up upon in a positive light.
I would unironically kill more often than I do now just to spite the Devs for such a forced interaction

Yup, because it takes so long to travel across the new, smaller maps.
So there's anywhere between 1-3 other survivors in a game, and not one of them is closer to the cage than the killer is? Tunnelling exists on PH because everyone keeps treating cages like hooks. If I play PH I *know* that if I go to the cage, I'll probably find at least one other survivor there. Unhook the dude and begone before PH gets there and now he has less map pressure than if he simply hooked.

You can crouch over it. TBH i'd love it was walking as well... Not all of us are running urban evasion... Which is yet, another reason to run that perk...
As of now, PH has no cooldown when he stops from his Trail of Judgment, he can easily fake it out while maintaining the same speed, then quickly swing after. People say just don't unsafe hooks... They obviously haven't played against him, especially when he has range addons... At that point he becomes Bubba when trying to unhook, but with a twist, he can reach you from 10+ meters away, He doesn't even need to see you doing the unhook as it can go trough walls.... If you don't have BT, you just lost the game, because you either gave the killer a down, two downs or 2 injured survivors which is the best outcome.
What pisses me off is the fact they gave a reason for people to Tunnel and Camp, since PH is by far the best at doing so.. How? He ignores DS and BT. He is very unhealthy for the game right now. Every day there are 5+ posts about tunneling and camping, and releasing a killer that promotes this kind of behaviour is just not good ...
Nothing but the same tactic, in all ranks, occasionally you'd find a PH that doesn't do this. Just get hit by torment, hooked, tunneled, put into cage, go to the cage because he can see the aura and get instantly killed because you can't proc BT. These are the same kind of people that stay near the hook, proxy camp, camp in general and tunnel, and now BHVR just gave them the best Toy they could've ever dreamed of.
Regarding the new map, it's shait, the art looks amazing, but the level design, the lack of stairs, some pallet spawns, just makes it very annoying to play on, especially as a killer that lacks movement abilitiest, such as Bubba. Demo seems to do quite well as i've played him on the map, countless times. Getting up and down is quite easy with portals, easily one of his best maps. I'd love if there were lights flickering outside in he hallway to indicate that there's a gen there.
Trails of Judgment now also bug out when putting them around hooks and gens, what a surprise, another bug... They stay there, but they are invisible, and surprise surprise, when you go over there, you get hit by Torment... Not to mention how awful the wires looks on the survivor's screen... That texture could not be more rushed.
The new map is as trash for killer as it is for survivors.
PHs are playing like that because survivors fall for it every time. Unhook before he gets to the cage and he can't tunnel. If he camps do gens.

I totally believe this is the reason why. I may be wrong though
That's *close* but it implies they don't move the same distance when they lunge. All killers lunge works the same way: they get accelerated to 6.9m/s for 0.3 seconds during the lunge, and perform an attack. The only exceptions are The Nurse after she blinks, and The Shape in T3, with the former having slightly reduced range and the latter having slightly increased.

just Fix the servers then have killers that match your ping so the game could run smoother or you have terrible things like Freddy infinite lunge
The servers are mostly fine. The way to make hits less bs would be to either make hits server sided(killers will stop playing) or revert back to P2P (survivors will be annoyed but the game was made with P2P and going back to this would help with a lot of bugs)

Mmm okay explain this I vault a window and the killer misses okay and I do the exact same to a Freddy same distance and all but he hits me explain that?
There are a couple of explanations I can give you.
1) The different killer players have different ping, so you just played against a laggy Freddy
2) You expect to be hit like that and thus remember the 'bad hits' easier than the normal ones (this is backed by the most basics of human psychology)

Don't worry too much about rankings, the matchmaking has been broken since the Hex: Ruin nerfs, and many many survivors are of a far higher rank than they should be.
