  • Because perks doesnt cover his main weakness that is low gen pressure? So against decent teams he has to slug/camp/tunnel at some point. Also why im i even answering, this is just another "i hate deathslinger" topic by the sound of it.

  • Just watched this masterpiece of a match and remembered about this topic. I never had matches like this myself, they must be pretty rare

  • Because its a strong perk with big impact and i dont understand why it should be free for survivors

Never said they are hard but you simply cant really always do all 5 totems, for example my last game a few min ago. I got tunneled for 4 gens, so in that situation I couldnt do any since I was busy the entire time. Again not saying it is Hard or impossible, but some games just doesnt give you a chance to do them.

You dont even need to do 5 totems, i agree sometimes its a waste of precious time. You can memorize their locations and check in the end game when you see killer has noed. Other counters to NOED are: stealth and just awareness that the killer MIGHT have it, and playing accordingly to it. I dont understand how people still have problems with this perk. Usually against a good team Noed = 1 down maximum. A down that the killer would still get anyway if he is chasing someone. Only in rare scenarios noed can give more value and they usually happens because of survivors greed.

  • Just play All-Seeing Wraith to counter it until the nerf comes out. Easy.

    /s

  • A good change. Sadly it doesnt come paired with key changes as well.

Btw since people gonna think that its not that evil of an offering anymore and probably stop DCing on loading screen, you can still play really dirty and wait for rescue on a second hook for an instant kill, avoiding DS. Hehe thats gonna earn some salt messages for sure. Its gonna be even more frustrating to die like that now, because before moris were considered overpowered(and its smart to not get pissed when you lose to OP stuff in game) and now they are not :)))

  • Never understood survivors who ######### about Franklins lol. Really cant figure out why some people care so much about their items. In my opinion bringing survivor items is excessive, and if the Killer dedicates perk slot to counter them, so be it. I have no right to whine about it. Its not like survivors cant win a match without their Medkits or Toolboxes. Funniest thing of course is to take away keys or Insta Med-Kits and then receive salty messages about that.

A lot of survivors bring Medkits, and its a very strong item since it nullifies your pressure for free, so Franklins almost never a wasted perk slot. But the problem is Franklins is not that valuable on most of killers, since you cant drag survivors far away from their robbed items, unless you waste a lot of time chasing them. Well i know one killer who can use the best out of Franklins, and its a Pyramid Head. Make them drop their item and send them far away to the Cage. Also you can leave a trail on a dropped item, and it helps to keep track if anyone is trying to pick it up. I made a lot of key gamers rage quit with this combo. Highly recommend Franklins on PH, on other killers though... yeah there are probably other perks you will get more value from.

  • This perk can burn in hell. If you still cant get immense value from it, thats your problem. It still counters a lot of killers abilities, it still can be used for distance, you can predict swings better, you know?

  • Why cant you just jump in the locker with DS if you know he is gonna tunnel you? I never had a problem with tunneling PH, im just heading to the nearest locker after he hooked me and waste his time. But for some reason people keep whining about it

  • Was there ever a situation when this Killer vs. Survivor community come to an agreement on something?

Personally i dont like versing 4 good Dead Hard players. I dont like losing to OuTpLaYs while 3 other people sitting on gens. Thats just frustrating for me. But there is a famous counter argument that matchmaking sucks, and good teams are rarity nowadays and that allegedly makes Dead Hard balanced.

  • There is only 2 reasons why survivors wait at the exit gates, its either to taunt or they want WGLF stacks or both. I dont believe in that kindhearted survivors that claim they stay to give killer bloodpoints lol. Nah, you care about bloodpoints for yourself dont you?

Anyway i dont care about some 1k pity bloodpoints and prefer to explore the map instead. So you are just wasting your own time waiting there.

Im coming to exit gates only if i liked the match despite me losing. Then i dont mind to give survivors their stacks and forcing them out at the same time.

  • Well your GF skin looks really cool on dark background

And i find default lobby much more comfy

  • Couldnt save some tunneled guy yesterday because killer was carrying him to an event hook. And because bodyblocking is impossible thanks to a new bug. Amazing game

Oh nooo killer is gonna lose 1k points if you sabo that hook, thats unacceptable!!

They disabled the ability to change killers after queuing up due to MMR. MMR is based on each killer you have.

MMR was recently disabled but is planned to be re-enabled at a later date. As MMR can be enabled/disabled server side it is easier to leave it as is rather than patching it out only to have to re-patch it in later.

That is a feature they can't just turn off and on, it requires a patch. They implemented it cause they're working on MMR which will place you in matches based on your skill, so they don't want you to play a killer you have a low skill level with and then switch to a higher skilled one.

And since the killer lock requires a patch to change they're just leaving it in while they work on the MMR, because turning MMR on and off works without patching anything.

Ok got it, thanks for answers. Hope it will not take years for them to implement this system.

  • Surprisingly its a Bubba for me.

Nice what do you do now that you have already reached rank 1? You do drop ranks just to use fun builds or something similar?

Im just playing however i want. Sometimes i do fun builds, yes. I dont care about rank, but i still stick around 1-2 automatically

  • 130 hours. Did it like a year ago

  • I like that dedicated servers limit dead hards functionality a bit. Because being able to use it on reaction is bullshit in my opinion, and no, it doesnt require skill. Dead Harding for distance is enough, no need to make it so killers must hug survivor first, to avoid DH on reaction, and then still risk DH on prediction or DH to a pallet. Imagine how much distance this is gonna buy for a survivors.

IMO DH is the strongest and most impactful perk out of all meta perks for survivors, and it doesnt need a buff. Let it stay that way so it actually requires a bit of skill, instead of 100% guaranteed second chance in a chase if you are not a granny with slow reaction, and you are smart enough to know where is the closest pallet on a map.

  • I think he remained the same power wise, but his playstyle changed. His camera is bugged atm and it makes him annoying to play, so i tested him in like 5 games and not gonna play him until they fix the camera.

First of all he has really massive slowdown right now, so no he cant fake his power into M1 because survivor can make another circle around tile before he will reach them, due to slowdown. I didnt test enough to say how he can play around windows, but i presume he can bodyblock?

Also i can say that his M1-M2 tech is not working. I dont know how Otz was able to do it in that vid, i tested it a lot to no success, and someone said on these forum this tech worked like a few hours after the patch and it doesnt work anymore. It works though in a short span when you start pulling sword into the ground, but it doesnt matter that much. You are able to do it while you Rites of Judgement bar is filling up, but not after.

  • The problem is they are giving all these free stuff not because they are so caring and kind-hearted company, but because they are losing a lot of players recently, on top of massive backlash they received after the recent "event". So they are genuinely scared and they want to artificially raise the number of players again, by forcing players to log in everyday to claim these useless rewards.

But i think the main reason why players leaving is because their game is a buggy unbalanced mess, that keeps getting worse and worse every patch, and they do nothing to adress this problem. NOTHING. All they do is trying to live to the next chapter, selling another useless character that will broke the game even more and then again. I dont know if they can keep doing it forever. You know maybe at some point they should start fixing problems, that are on the to-do list for eternity already. Its embarassing that it takes years for this company to fix at least some simple most broken things like Moris, Keys, some overpowered addons and perks.

Im not gonna be pleased just because they throw some free skins or bloodpoints/shards in my face, hoping it will close my eyes on DBD problems.

  • Insta heal will not work, but youll get the speed

  • Cant wait to deal with this stupid addon for a year or two. On top of tools survivors already have to help them. I mean if its really gonna give 7% boost like Hope, and it stays after the event, whats the point of playing killer? Like Dead Hard to a pallet buying 20+ more seconds in a chase wasnt enough, now they can run around some tile for another 20 seconds. Meanwhile every 20 seconds = 60 seconds on gen progress.

  • Comparing meta-build Legion with survivors meta-build is funny. Sure they lost, but only because they play too dumb. I dont even know what were they thinking, allowing Legion to down three people at start of the match. If this was at least a semi-decent team, at least trying to run away from the killer and maybe split up, instead of giving him free injuries, Legion would have been in trouble.

  • Interesting topic. This perk is unfair in situations when there is nothing you can do to play around it, and it buys survivor team a lot of time, sometimes making difference between win and loss, escape or death for survivors. My biggest problem with it is that not only it cant be counterplayed when its used for distance, but it counters a lot of killers abilities, and skillful plays using that ability just by pressing a single button. It feels extremely cheap in this situations, because there is absolutely nothing you as a killer can do to play around dead hard, and its not a skillful play by survivor either, all you need to do is press a button in a correct timing.

For example Punishment of the Damned is easily avoidable on reaction. There is literally nothing you can do, Dead Hard will always guarantee a survivor one "outplay" over it. I dont play Huntress, but i think same applies to her Hatchet throw? Blights Lethal Rush: in most situations killer wont have another object nearby to bait a deadhard or time/charges to do it, so it will be one free escape for survivor with DH. Hillbillies Chainsaw. DH over Bear Trap. This is probably the most notable killers abilities that are freely dodged by DH.

While DH for distance becomes less relevant the longer the match goes, since there will be less pallets and more deadzones, DH against this killer abilities is always free and easy unpreventable dodge. And its my main problem with this perk, since i main Blight and Pyramid Head. It always feels cheap when i shoudve landed a cool PotD shot, but a survivor just pressed "E" lmao.

And as others said the more survivors have this perk in a match, the more impact it has on the outcome. I lost many matches solely due to Dead Hard, and the time it buys for survivors. No doubt about it. I think if anyone will count how much time he lost due to DH every match, results are gonna be shocking.

Record and report. It takes a while but the two I saw have been banned.

Where to report with video? In-game with link to youtube? I have no idea, i reported those guys in-game but without proof, thats all. Also how do you know that they were banned?

I met 4-5 lagswitchers for the past month. Yeah they all running No-Mither, Soul Guard, Unbreakable. Cant be picked up, teleport behind when you are on their asses. If you are lucky and pick them up you cant hook them. Also if they jump into a locker they cant be grabbed out of there. You can check their ping when they do all that stuff, it raises up to 500-1000.

  • I despise swamp after couple very unpleasant games there as Blight. I'll probably start disconnecting there to be honest. Yeah the camera problem is annoying on most maps(especially corn maps and Ormond), but its not the main reason for me why swamp sucks so much. The main reason is that im sliding off every single tree and stump. There is no reliable way to tell if i will slide or bump into something there. That combined with grass areas, and main buildings, makes Blights ability just useless there. And loops are weirdly shaped, no way you can use ability around any loop as well, and they are really safe for survivors to hide when you are in lethal rush. Worst map for me when i play Blight

  • Yeah no surprise there. Hello to all people who were thinking it wont be a nerf. JuSt WaIt FoR ThE ActuAl NumBeRS

So, you're saying that because I decided to tap a gen because I had distance on a killer while mid-chase (tapped it, mind you, not sit and repair it) I should get punished for stopping a gen from regressing? If I'm running a perk such as Secondwind, or I decide to pop an insta-heal during chase in order to preserve myself, I should get punished for getting back a health state? What about For The People on a killer that's proxy camping and doesn't see the now broken Survivor? I know there's another argument against locker plays for DS as well, but what about Head-On/Quick and Quiet locker plays? Should I not be allowed to use my exhaustion perk to attempt to gain distance on the killer, like every other exhaustion perk does? If I Q&Q into a locker because I broke LOS with them, should I get punished for trying to get value out of my exhaustion perk which requires a locker to use?

What if you get hooked next to a Hex totem and it's a Stealth Killer who was proxy camping (Like Wraith)? You wouldn't hear them come back to hook, and you might have been able to get off a We'll Make it Heal or have at least attempted to cleanse the bones- if you're the first hook and didn't realize the killer would tunnel, should you get punished for 'Doing Bones'?

My point is that DS might be used aggressively, but it's a sensitive perk. If you base it off of chase timers, then the perk is useless, because it's too easy to break chase (Old Legion showed that off- and it's honestly kinda funny that this is true considering how many times you can start a chase on a Survivor and you won't even know where they are.) making it too easy for the killer to abuse. Give it a shorter cooldown and you might get punished for being tunneled anyway because you know how to run a loop. Have it based off of some of the things you want, and it can still be too punishing.

DS's problem is that it's too good to stop tunneling when going against a coordinated SWF, which are practically playing a different game then solos or casual SWFs. Nerf the perk too much for SWF level, and you might kill it for the majority of the Survivor base (Solos), and god knows they don't need any nerfs.

I disagree that you should be punished for healing or locker jumps. But your DS definitely should deactivate when you touch a gen or Hex totem. If you decided to stop regression or break a totem then take the consequences for it. Not a free pass

  • I dont even think DS needs lengthy conditions for deactivation. Just three simple things: touch a gen, touch a hex totem, unhook someone. Healing and dull totems are whatever. Also it shouldnt deactivate when someone else is hooked because that can be abused by killers side. Forcing grabs from lockers can still be an option for survivors if they are tunneled and dont want to get slugged, but they havent done any objective.

Super simple change to make it much healthier perk

  • @ccactus623 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1651427#Comment_1651427

That's why you slug, I agree it can be abused but any real suggestion to change it can be abused

I dont see how it could be abused if DS deactivates when survivor touch a gen/hex totem or unhook someone. Clearly they are not tunneled in that situations and killers cannot force them to do that.

  • @ccactus623 said:

Let's be honest 90% of the time DS is used it's when the killer tunnels off hook, while in some situations it's feels cheap, the threat of the perk alone has made solo survivor more playable. The pop nerf wont change a thing, you can kick any gen on the map if needed.

From not-tunneling killers point of view, DS is used 100% of the time when some shithead protected by it go for unhook or repair gen in front of your face. So it feels cheep in every situation.

Noone asks to remove anti-tunneling feature from DS, just make it non abusable.

  • @Blueberry said:

He just needs the attack to be less easily dodgeable as well and then the change is fine.

They addressed the excessive over punishment for attempting the attack but that was only part of the reason people were only using it in locked animation. The other part being how overly easy it is to dodge still needs to be addressed.

They could make the attack faster, they could give him more control of it like a flick, or even keep it just as hard to land but make it more rewarding, like now landing the attack also applies Torment to the survivor.

I personally don't want hook perks to affect the cages. That is part of his unique features and there's no reason this needs to be changed.

totally agree. Its hard to land his PotD as it is and when you finally gonna do it survivors are just gonna press E to outplay. He need another buff or hes gonna super painful to play against good teams

  • Im ok with this changes but they shouldve added Exhaustion addons when survivors step in the Trail for example. Because DH is braindead easy vs Punishment of the Damned

And since the gameplay is gonna be more about cool shots than zoning out DH gonna give a free pass through PotD every time when its about to hit you. I play PH a lot so i can already imagine how frustrating its gonna be.

  • You can have fun if you stop taking the game too serious. Like you should understand that sometimes you cannot win in this game. You can get bad maps like Ormond and survivors running strong builds. Or if you play bad killers with no map pressure you gonna lose even on better maps if survivors are good. Or you can make mistakes yourself. Just do your best and move to the next match.

  • Dont know why so many people dislike this addon. It honestly became perma reserved slot on my Blight, i just cant play without it. Very helpful in my opinion. First its hard to locate juking survivors immediately and this addon saves precious time. I can go for an instant m2 after slam and hit without need to adjusting my camera. And second it sometimes helps in finding hidden survivors so its like a discount Compound 21.

I just fell in love with this addon, i didnt prestige blight at all and never will solely because of a higher chance to get brown addons. Too bad that the bloodweb is polluted now with new brown offerings and honestly it feels like i have higher chance to get any addon from yellow to purple color than Compound 7.

  • I have yet to find a hacker but I encountered two blatant lagswitchers on survivors like 2 weeks ago.

  • Never unless the last guy was obnoxious

  • It would be too strong. Because then the Blight will just Rush into a pallet or window survivor currently running to and insta hit. Without planning or bouncing off walls. You just follow them and hit using 1 charge.

  • @GeordieKiller said:

c21 is a strong add on that gives killers good info on survivors location on a near constant basis do you know what else give good info on a near constant location SWF on comms so how is it fair for SWF comms to have near constant information on killer but its not fair for a killer add on giving similar information?

if the game was just solo survivors then you can make a argument that it might be to strong but since swf exsits then its not as strong as people are making it out to be

    just my thought on c21

Your thought or Tru3Ta1ents thought? Cuz thats exactly what he just said on stream lol.

Yeah that addon is kinda busted, im sure they will change it. But hopefully devs wont mess with Blight himself and other addons. Because they are known for their ability to make useless addons and unnecessary reworks that ruin everything.

This is the first update in a long time when im actually enjoying this game, and i think they unironically did a pretty good job.

  • You basically rush in strait lines with it. Pretty bad imo. They should give it something else to compensate bad turning, probably increased speed

  • KEK people already salty about this combo. Im glad that finally hex totems have gotten some love even though at the cost of a perk slot. Yeah please nerf it so hex perks are trash again and Ruin get cleansed in 30 seconds. Nothing should interrupt poor survivors from mindlessly sitting on gens.

  • Kinda reminds me how they nerfed his flick too stating what this is a bug. Guess thats the way devs nerf killers now.

  • Why there is no information at all about this despawn system? What range is considered near it? After how much time will it despawn?

  • Whats the point of this crown?

  • @SirCracken said:

This seems like a serious design oversight.

Why not instead change each killer's attack hitbox to be accurate to their weapon and tweak their lunge speed, so that killers with smaller weapons are compensated with a faster lunge?

Too much work for devs : )

  • Out of all second chance perks the one what infuriate me the most is Dead Hard. I dont care about others that much even though DS+Unbreakable is a nasty combo as well. But they are one time use perks. On the other hand Dead Hard can give multiple "second chances" in a match and when all four survivors have it became a freaking twelve second chances. The worst feeling is when you start chasing a good looper in a match knowing what you need to down as fast as you can since others just sitting on the gens pressing M1 all this time and when you about to get him BOOM Dead Hard to a pallet. Lets extend the chase even more and we can do it minimum three times. And also there are four of us. Obviously later in a match there will be more dead zones where DH will be useless but the match will be over by that time already thanks to DH value and the time it buys for the team who just rush gens.

  • I played with her and think she is definitely strong. She can slow the game early when using Corrupt Intervention and infecting generators. Broken survivors are easy to find and coughing negates Iron Will. Obviously broken survivors have 1 health state and you can pressure survivors hard when everyone is broken and someone is on the hook because its very risky for them to go for a save. Sometimes it forces them to cleanse(Unless they are that kind of survivors who still think they should never cleanse under any circumstances and prefer to die instead). You can snowball from Corrupt Purge very easy especially with Infectious Fright. You have one pool of Corrupt at the start and if you use it in the right moment you can immediately turn the match in your favor(though sometimes you can get unlucky with location of it). You can bring Black Incense for fun and see how not cleansing work for survivors lol.
