And yet again, I post a balanced take showing how the event is bad for both sides, and it gets downvoted to oblivion. I point out how the mode is not fun as Survivor, feels bad as Survivor, and is too easy as Survivor - which it is, then give nuanced ways the game could EASILY be made more fun for everyone, and I get DOWNVOTED for it instead of actual nuanced discussion. Just like Reddit.
God, this community is trash.
You know that meme with Principal Skinner? That’s you”Am I so out of touch? No, it’s the community that is wrong.”
Also, I don’t know if you know this, but fun is subjective.

According to their QoL Initiative road map, a nerf to the effectiveness of map offerings is coming between April and June of this year.
-
Seeing as the other platforms have them, it would appear that this is out of the devs’ hands. I assume it’s some certification thing or similar issue on Microsoft’s end. I mean, the Xbox achievements never come the same day as a new chapter, but I will admit that this seems to be taking longer than usual.
-
Care to share any of these ideas, or should we just guess?
It doesn’t matter if it’s intentional or not, your disconnects are ruining games for the other players. If it’s happening so often that you’re getting increasing match making bans, then you’ve got to do something about your internet before playing an online PVP game.

The reason BP was taken away after a DC is because people abused the system. Back in the day people used DC'ing as a means of working the prestige. Once they took that away people abused DC'ing as a means to bail out of matches for various reasons. They didn't like killer, they didn't like the map, they didn't like specific team chars, they didn't like how someone played, they didn't like char account names.. the reasons people DC are endless but it screws the rest of the team over and throws the match. It even throws the match for killer as there's less achievements and points to earn when someone rage DC's. Imagine an entire team DC's after they find out who the killer is. This wastes the time for the player who chose killer. Now the person playing killer has to endure multiple match dc's over and over again. No one wants to play with that crud going on. Or you are playing solo while the rest of the team DC's leaving you alone with the killer and its only been 30 seconds into the match. (most killers don't care that someone dc'd, they will kill whoever is left) Killer's also rage DC when they can't catch someone in a chase or they feel players are gen rushing. A lot of killer's just don't know how to play and get salty and DC. Now imagine dc's happening at least every other match. That's how bad it was. The other way to resolve that was to implement bots in replace of DC'ers because it wasn't fair to the remaining players. However the bots need to be reworked as they are selfish and can sabotage the team. But in no means should BP's remain after anyone DC's it's a means to halt people from dc'ing at all. Too bad, fix your system, reload the game, join your friends lobby instead of using your lobby or vice versa. Whatever you need to do to fix it on your end, do it. Its your responsibility. But don't ever cry about BP's not remaining after you DC!!! 🤣
They don’t mean when someone rage quits. OP is talking about when the server crashes and kicks someone/everyone out of the game, negating their points and wasting their time.

Playtime is completely irrelevant to this community. Coco has 5k hours on Huntress and everybody flamed him for saying the Huntress buffs were fine.
Meanwhile people who never played her before said she was OP and needed to be nerfed and everyone agreed with them.
The only thing that matters is “does this person opinion benefit my side?” So no playtime doesn’t matter even remotely to the vast majority of the community.
I mean, just because someone has 5k hours doesn’t mean they can’t be wrong.

I dont know what surrender means to you guys. But when people surrender in war they lay down their weapons and ask for permission to live and that is what they get. not a bunch of (money) blood points they accumulated throughout the game. If surrendering blood points should be 0 for entire team. Killer should get full blood points.
Or perhaps we should add a surrender button for killers to so we can surrender as soon we know its an SWF ?In the instance of surrendering in DBD, it means you understand the game is lost and you would prefer to move on rather than be held hostage or hit with a matchmaking ban. It’s not a ‘win faster’ option, it’s the devs’ response to rare but toxic gameplay such as slugging a whole team and not hooking or there being 2 survs left who hide and refuse to do gens. This isn’t war buddy, it’s a game and it’s supposed to be fun.
-
Give the survs points to the killer? Wouldn’t that just encourage more slugging and griefing? Wouldn’t that discourage survs from surrendering and thus forcing them to waste their time slugged, which is exactly the issue the devs are trying to solve? The point of the surrender option is to save people time from griefers and toxic trolls. Your suggestions would waste more time.

PC player here. Just so you know many PC players and players who have played both PC keyboard & mouse and console think controller is better. So you may wanna reconsider.
For survivor, sure, but everyone agrees that controller is a handicap for playing killer.

Devs have said it’s coming later this year. It’s part of the second phase of their Quality of Life Initiative.

There is a challenge in the current level of the tome that likely accounts for more people running No Mither: the random perk challenge.

Jokes on you, I play solo q. I bring a medkit (which yes, got nerfed because people abused the 6 second heals). I dont bring beamers, I dont bring BNPs.
lmao way to read between the lines.
-
You want to stop having your crap nerfed? STOP MAKING THE GAME MISERABLE FOR KILLER. It's simple.
You click too much, flashlight gets nerfed.
You spam map offerings, they get nerfed.
You slam gens with toolboxes and BNPs, they get nerfed.
You ######### on first hook, enjoy the ‘Go Next’ prevention. When will OP realize this?
=)
-
That's the risk of running hex perks. Undying and Thrill of the Hunt and Dominance exist. If Ruin (or nearly any Hex) had guaranteed value like you want, it would be a disgusting perk.
-
Are you playing DBD for fun, or to unlock achievements?
Many achievements are designed to not be completed on the first try/in one trial. That’s why they’re called achievements. This is a game about doing gens and escaping, so understandably there are going to be some accompanying achievements involving doing exactly that. Just play normally and you’ll likely unlock it (and others) eventually. -
With all due respect, I’ll have to see it to believe it. This is not the first time the devs have claimed to ‘fix’ flashbangs.

@ReverseVelocity said:
No, they'll still be Tier 3 automatically.
Back when Stranger Things was removed, people who had the Teachables would get the Perks on every character at Level 1, so I'm pretty certain Pinhead's perks will work under the same system.
But ST left before the prestige rework, so we can’t say for sure that the teachables will remain unlocked/tier 3 for future characters.

It is evidence that timeouts do not change people's opinion on leaving the match.
Currently, DC penalties are really just preventing bots from taking over, at this point.
That’s because people can leave with no timeout penalty. If quitters got a penalty no matter whether they DC or suicide, you don’t think that would discourage going next, by whatever means? If people who rage quit have to sit out, how is that not better for the people that actually want to play the game? Literally every multiplayer game has DC/matchmaking penalties. What would the alternative even look like for DBD?
-

We have a timeout. We have had a time out for years.
If timeouts worked, we would've seen a reduction in DC'ing. We did not, it all pivoted to suicides. We will just continue to play wac-a-mole with trying to force people to play the game.
IMO, more people suiciding than DC'ing is evidence that the timeouts do work, otherwise people would just DC. The reason they suicide is to avoid the timeout.

Pinhead is fine as he is right now. The only issues I can think of is bugs on the Decimated Borgo (you can't open a gateway over those wicker squares full of carcasses and garbage), and issues with the M2 being very capricious when it comes to casting it between floors (eg. main on Mother's Dwelling will have you casting chains upstairs while you're on the ground floor if you look up even SLIGHTLY (to regulate your cast distance) whereas on the game you will sooner draw blood from a stone than cast through the floor).
Balance-wise, he's just right. He's about consistency; you need to use your power constantly and be good with it. It's not about landing some epic trickshot and being rewarded with a hit; it's about slowly closing the gap with consecutive accurate chains. It's like that for a reason.Disagree. Pinhead has too much counterplay. With every other killer, the counterplay is make them miss their power. With Pinhead, even if he lands his power, there’s a chance that he will actually LOSE distance. That’s insane. Making him miss his chains is more than enough, why should survs be able to negate a successful power hit? Not to mention Pinhead also hurts himself by breaking his own chains. The Houndmaster’s dog is better than Pinhead’s chains in every way, but mostly the guaranteed time to get a hit. Nothing feels worse than landing 3+ chains in a row and not gaining ANY distance. Again, this isn’t true of any other killer.
-
RE: No Way Out - End game perks exist for a reason, and if a killer is using them, it means they are playing minus that perk for 90% of the game. That alone balances them quite well. The survivors objective isn’t to do gens, it’s to escape. Just because the gens get finished does not entitle survivors to a free escape, otherwise the game would end when the gens get completed.
-
Blocking people stops them from being able to communicate with you in game. It does not affect matchmaking in any way.
-
I’m not saying you’re wrong, but every time this topic comes up, people’s suggestion is to redesign maps except they have absolutely no tangible ideas on how that can or should be done. This thread is no exception. Since it’s a total pipe dream to expect every single map to get remade, it’s a lot more realistic and feasible to deal with the most obnoxious part of unbalanced maps: the offerings.
-
I’ve seen the surv bonus disappear on 1v4. I assume it’s because there are too many people queueing up for surv and the matchmaking incentive kicks in, if only briefly. I haven’t seen it last for more than one game.
-

Heck yeah. I've been burnt out and had taken a break from dbd , I got tired of having to spite the mass sluggers but 2v8 has brought me back with full gusto.
Both my killer and survivor games have been a blast, and all the twitchies are out in full force. All this with 3x xp? Life is good, man.
Too bad the survey stipulates that if 2v8 is extended, the XP boost will be turned off.
-
Because someone is hacking. It’s not that BHVR is trying to punish you, the hacker is getting one last lick in by giving you a matchmaking ban too. Happened to me last night (ban was 1 minute as it was my first “dc” that day).
-
It's almost like there are too many people queuing up for killer and not enough for survivor. As soon as BHVR finds a solution to that, your problem will be solved.
-
This seems like the right approach. The only thing that seems odd is giving 1v4 Surv a 400% bonus when the queue times for surv right now (NA) are instant and the killer queues are a few minutes. Don’t think that 1v4 survs need any incentive…

Feels like ######### to play against a bad killer, that got rewarded some how with 3 or 4k just because of noed. I never understood the logic of this design, rewarding you for bad gameplay, you lost your objetctive of defending the gens, or not killing the survivors before they finish repairing the gens, but hey, doesnt matter! here you got a cookie that can make you still win the match, even if you are a tutorial level killer ;D
The killer’s objective is not to defend gens, it’s to kill. A kill during endgame is just as valid as one with 5 gens left. The killer hasn’t failed their objective just because the gens get finished, otherwise that’s when the game would end!
on topic, NOED is fine. It has counterplay. It’s not unbeatable. It’s no more unfair than any other killer or survivor perk.
-
Saying that devs don’t listen to the community when the number one complaint about 2v8 was the queue times is a take.
-
Sadly, I think that if BHVR could’ve fixed the audio issues by now, they would have. They even claimed that they did fix it…

And so we have to break the knees of all non-console players because PCs are a little better at playing Oni. But with exactly the same logic (at the same time swf gets many times more bonuses) we shouldn’t do anything with swf? This is hypocrisy, we either solve both problems or we don’t hypocrisy choose something one
lmao it’s not about pc players being “a little better”, they are literally able to perform actions that console/controller users cannot. And then comparing that to SWF, when anyone on any platform can SWF but MnK users can do stuff with Oni that is literally impossible on controller. What a take.
-
It can’t be balanced; it has to be surv sided. Everyone already wants to play killer so why would most people even queue up for surv otherwise? Certainly not bloodpoints…

Oh look the standard get better comeback from a killer main who never played survivor in his life. Magic hand needs nerfed to where it slows him down if he lifts a pallet. Right now its incredibly broken. All survivors have is pallets.
Literally everyone in this thread is telling you to get good.
-
Matchmaking in DBD isn’t too bad, I find the initial matchups are pretty fair. That all gets thrown out the window when someone dodges a lobby. Now matchmaking doesn’t care about fair or even, it just wants to find someone, anyone to fill that spot ASAP. Anecdotally, my most lopsided games occur when someone dodges a lobby.
-
For me personally, I hit windows/pallets instead of the surv when going for a basic attack way more than I used to. 2+ years ago, I could basically get a hit with anything close, but these days I find I have to be more precise. On the surv side, I find I get hit through windows about as often as I used to. shrugs Beats me.
-
Oof, gotta work on those escapes. I wish it also showed how many moris I performed.

There's websites out there that give you all those stats.
Unless you're on Xbox, or Playstation, or Switch, Or Epic….
-
Sadly, at this point, silent flash bangs/fire crackers seems like a problem that is out of BHVR’s hands. If they could have fixed them by now, they would have.
-
Same, can’t wait. I love playing this game even after all this time and I love stats, it’s one of my favorite things about sports and video games. I played a lot last year starting around the Blood Moon event so I’m excited to see some of the specifics!

These are the stats for the month and this was a pinhead release. so the statistics show that he was very cool at the release, but they are not true. look at Nurse. Is this really the weakest killer in the game? no, she is the strongest
These stats are from Sept. '22, almost a year after Pinhead had been released.
-
Outside of very rare bugs, I’ve never seen two hooks close enough that the killer could effectively camp both of them at once. Hook spawns are subject to RNG and while they could be better, they’re fine as is.
-
Not a bug. Any other survivor(s) can finish an invocation that the perk user has started, whether the perk user is there at the end or not. The perk user still suffers the drawbacks of the perk when the invocation finishes, but they only need to be there to start it, not complete it.
-
Pretty sure this isn’t a bug. All the moris were changed recently to be 3rd person.

They tweeted out saying to compensate for mistle toes being bugged, bone chill has a 100% queue bonus. So it's not gonna be fixed but they're keeping them active so you can use them for snow skulls at the start and an extra chest
Thank you, I don’t use twitter so I missed this, though I did notice the matchmaking incentive this afternoon. I’d still recommend people not use the Mistle Toes if they care at all about (event) points.
-
You can play as chill as you like OP, but you can’t make other people play a certain way.
-
@ratcoffee said:
The event offering causes every winter score event to be worth double points - that is, hitting someone with a snowball grants 300 BP instead of 150, hitting a snowman grants 1000 (normal) or 1500 (jumpscare snowman) instead of 500 or 750 respectively. It's applied to the actual score event itself, in game, and is reflected in the score pop up. That's why you don't see the bonus applied in End of Game, it's already applied as part of the gameplay
The points look like they're being counted ingame, but at the endgame scoreboard, no event points are awarded (unless someone else brought a cake/streamer)
-
@bjorksnas said:
Mistle toes increase the scoring from the event itself not a bonus to bp post match, its basically a mid match bonus akin to how old thrill and distressing used to work. Rather than a post match bonus it simply doubles the scoring events ingame.
Hitting a survivor or killer with a snowball - 150 points per action, but with the offering you can see it doesn't give 150 it gives 300
Some more examples
Popping a decoy snowman with a snowball 500
Popping a jumpscare snowman with a snowball 750
Doing the janky killer snowman thing 750
Making a snowman 250 (I think I don't exactly know this value)
But as soon as you put on the offering you get 1000, 1500, ect.
Way to completely miss the point. Yes, the Mistle Toes will double all your Bone Chill scoring events in game. And then when the game is over, unless someone else brought a cake or streamers, you will get NONE of those event points.
