Are people playing 2v8 because they like it, or because it offers more points? The only way for the devs to test this out is to lower the matchmaking incentive. If lowering the bonus points also lowers how many people play 2v8, then hopefully that lights a fire under the devs and encourages them to make meaningful changes to 2v8 (e.g. more classes).

As if Pinhead's power weren't weak enough already…
Crazy to me that this only affects Pinhead. Can a killer like the Clown or Freddy not just as easily hinder a survivor and tunnel them out? Can killers like Pyramid Head or Dracula not easily damage both survivors at an unhook with their M2, allowing for a quick tunnel out? ANY killer with a damaging ranged attack can still M2 the unhooked surv and then quickly M1 them for a down, but Pinhead's chains are too oppressive??? Hello?

- Elusive (QOL not hand holding + no longer a thing)
- No Sound (QOL not hand holding)
- See the killer's Aura (MABE hand hold a little like a pinky finger but far from it more on a QOL because u do anything and loose it to prevent non interactive game play)
- 10% haste in endgame (QOL)
- Endurance in endgame that always been apart of the game (QOL)
- Survivors can pick themselves up if slugged too long(MASSIVE QOL u have to be down for half your bleed out timer to get it to even activate wich was state at 130S thats 2 minutes for the survivor doing NOTHING)
- Anti face camp (QOL)
- Seeing the resolve bar on teammates (MASSIVE QOL)
- Pallet changes that massively increase the number of pallets on maps that didn't need it while not actually addressing the thing said changes claimed to be trying to fix. (Honestly, maps used to be like this before the devs started catering to every crying killer main. Now it’s about as balanced as it’s ever been.
As for killer—let’s not act like they haven’t been handed massive buffs over the last couple of years. They added more hooks per map, practically eliminating dead zones. Hooks now respawn in 30 seconds. Gens take 15 seconds longer to complete. And for the last 5 patches straight, they’ve been buffing 2–3 killers every single update — making almost the entire roster more viable, more oppressive, and way easier to use.
Maps got brighter and a lot smaller, loops (especially jungle gyms) were reworked to be killer-sided and be almost non existent on most maps now a day, and nearly every new killer released has been so simple to play that a toddler could 4K.
Shall I go on, honey? Because it’s honestly funny how you mention all these survivor ‘advantages’ but conveniently forget all the hand-holding killers have gotten.
And let’s be real — most of these so-called ‘extra pallets’ are filler pallets. They’re weak, short, and easily mind-gamed. Half the time they’re just two tiles laid next to each other for decoration. These aren’t strong loops; they’re fake safety nets at best.
But honestly, there’s no changing these people’s minds. They live in their own little world where killers are the eternal victims, no matter how many buffs they get.
Just want to point out that things like 10% haste and endurance after being unhooked were NOT always in the game. Also, something can be a QOL update and a buff or nerf; the terms aren’t mutually exclusive.

Unfortunately, Robert Englund doesn’t own the rights to ANOES or Freddy Krueger, so it doesn’t matter how willing he is. If BHVR could’ve gotten the original Freddy from the license holders, they would have by now.

Meanwhile, I play on Xbox, and the descriptions of the offerings are not shown to me at all, even when I hover over non-secret ones.
-
Funny enough, that’s exactly why I never use any of Legion’s tape add ons: I find it changes the chase music in a way I don’t enjoy as much as the default.

holding a tape does not prevent you from entering the void, and if it does, that's a bug
Then it’s a bug that devs never bothered to address because this was also true of Sadako and her tapes during last year’s Haunted by Daylight.

That'd be inconsistent with how the icons are used. As OP wrote, the orange clocks indicate that the item will leave the store after a while, but the green one is just a temporary sale. These lack the former.
Also, this would also be the first time in quite a while that event-exclusives were purchasable with Iri shards.
They’re purchasable with iri shards because they’re all old. If there were new void outfits, those would only be available for auric cells this year. I bought the Haddie and Yun-Jin outfits last Halloween for shards.
-
Yup, abandoning loses you your items and add ons, regardless of offerings.
-
Ace has deep rift skins in the current rift.
-
Not a bug. The “complete 3 quests” challenge is not counted for the rift pass completion quests.
-
When will people learn? Until the queue times for killer aren’t 15+ minutes long, there can be no significant buffs to killer or nerfs to survivor. Unless you want to wait even longer…?
-
"I just know that out of 20 or 30 games today, every killer has tunneled."
Press X to doubt.

Nah m8, console players will be in shambles when they realize PC players can type faster, say much more, and constantly roast them as they struggle to keep up on their little virtual keyboard. Trying to save support the time and hassle of having to go through an incoming flood of Recover banned account e-mails.
Do… do you think that console gamers haven’t heard of keyboards? “How is this man typing so fast?? He’s a witch!”
-
Personally, I feel that Hyperfocus is only overturned when combined with a toolbox, since toolboxes inherently give you a higher chance to get skill checks. We’ll have to see how it interacts with the new survivor perk later this month (1 2 3 4), but otherwise I think it’s fair enough.
-

and y, I don’t need aura. we can drop it. half the time it’s gamesense + good headphones anyway. if ditching aura means more perk variety on her, do it. Nurse’s perk pool got clipped when her basic counts as M2—a bunch of basic-attack perks don’t apply. Give her some other perk options back, then aura can go.
lmao why does she need perk options? Literally doesn’t need perks at all…
-
I think you’ve Mandela Effect’d yourself OP. I don’t believe you could ever tell the direction or distance of the Huntress based on her lullaby.
-
” If we put Nurse on Packwatch and make Billy the best the game would be better as the best killer would be insta unlocked for everyone.”
But… Nurse is already unlocked for everyone, so it wouldn’t change anything about the availability of the best, it would just change who the best killer is.
Also, I sigh loudly when a Billy with Lethal Pursuer downs me or one of my teammates in the first 10 seconds of the game. Pretty frustrating having a killer with mobility and an insta-down know exactly where everyone is right off the bat.
-
- 6.5% pickrate when there are over 150 perks is NOT modest. That makes it a far above average pick, and we know the devs love looking at numbers, so that is likely why it is getting a slight nerf.
-
To say that survivors have gotten nothing in years is so disingenuous I would go so far as to call it bait. Basekit endurance and haste off hook? No more hook grabs? Ten more seconds of time for each hook state? The anti face camp? The ######### HUD?? Any validity to your point loses all credibility when you make such a wildly incorrect and easily disprovable claim.

Heck there's even add-ons for most killers. Wraith has extra kick speed while cloaked for example.
’Most’ is definitely an exaggeration. Most killers would actually need to run (a) perk(s) to get through pallets faster.

It makes sense if 2v8 is more popular than 1v4.
Is it more popular, or are there more people playing it because of the bonus bloodpoints? I have a feeling that any role that also had 5x bonus would seem pretty popular.

"Being able to CONSISTENTLY force a 1v3…"
Stop filtering out words please. Not saying that's what's currently going on but It is a huge issue if most killer players are able to force a 3v1 consistently.
The game is designed to get down to 1v3. Then 1v2. Then 1v1. That will consistently happen. It’s. An. Elimination. Game.
-
”Being able to consistently force a 1v3 is inherently unbalanced and unhealthy for the game.”
???
DBD is an elimination game. The goal is to eliminate people. In what world is doing so unbalanced or unhealthy?

When they did a survey last, 80 percent of people wanted it to be extended. People who don't want it to be extended are the loud minority. I'm glad it's been extended. Love the play as you wait. Also gives me a break from 1v4 sweat games.
Correction: 80% of people who voted wanted it to be extended. We have no idea how many people voted vs how many actually play.

I don’t want one side super unbalanced, I want reasonable queue times! BP and XP don’t make a difference, it has to be gameplay.

well if u want downright disgusting its perfectly fine if u get legion and oni no?
im just saying if u want one side ot be very unbalanced its only fair the other side gets to have a chance by playing strong killers no?
Your proposed balance changed would make 2v8 literally unplayable. What good is balance if there are NO survivors to play against??
-
As mentioned, killer queues are already insane. What do you think would happen if the surv side got hit with the nerf bat? If you want more than 1 killer game per hour, the survivor side needs to be downright disgusting in 2v8.
-
until the killer queues in 2v8 get shorter than the games themselves, keep giving survivors OP #########.
-
It’s only in 2v8 and it’s only for killer.
-
One thing I wish that BHVR would consider is that some killers will NEVER work well in 2v8, no matter how they try to tweak their powers. Legion is a prime example of this, but I think that Plague would also fit into this category: killers who can injure easily but can’t necessarily down quickly on their own. 2v8 makes these kind of killers borderline broken. I appreciate you trying to find a solution, but I truly believe that certain killers do and will absolutely kill this mode for survivors.
-
I exclusively play solo queue and I still enjoy it very much. The only complaint I have is the sheer number of perks that are too niche or downright unusable unless you have coordination. For example, I never run endgame perks solo because I usually need every perk I can get just to make it to endgame. I never run perks like deliverance or we’ll make it or camaraderie because my teammates don’t know I have them and inadvertently cuck my build.
I’m not sure how to bridge that gap, but it’s a helpless feeling, the one where SWFs get to use and enjoy any perk they want, while solo queue has such a limited pool of consistent value.
-
Despite being a more common rarity, you are actually less likely to get BPS than purple or iri things because the tier that BPS is in is completely overloaded, especially with map offerings. This has been an issue for as long as I’ve played DBD. We would all get more BPS if the devs placed it in literally any other tier of rarity, even purple or iri.

If BHVR is one of Canada's largest independent game studios with 1,000+ employees I would assume they have a proportional QA team for a game studio of their size. Could you explain your reasoning for wanting a massive expansion of their QA team? Assuming they have enough QAs for their company. I mean, at what point are you just bringing people in for the paycheck and paying them to do the least? What if it's not a QA issue, but a culture issue at BHVR that goes even higher up to management?
What are the standards or what is being told to their team to where even the most glaring issues are passing right on through like a morning cup of coffee?
That's a fair point. I assumed that their lack of expedience in regards to addressing bugs/balance was due to a lack of resources. I suppose I want that to be true because then the answer is clean and simple: hire more people to help lighten the load. But if they already have enough eyes looking at the problems, and something like money is driving their agenda and causing them to prioritize new content over old broken content that needs fixing, that is a problem that is not easily remedied.
-
Even if they do play their game, which I do believe, there are too many killers for the devs to properly deal with all the bug and balance problems in a timely manner. Killers like Clown get unnecessary buffs while Twins, Plague, Pinhead and more are left with frustrating bugs - that have been reported! - for months on end.
IMO, BHVR needs to massively expand the size of their QA team, or even more killers will break down as content is further added, with no one available to address them.

This is due to very few people actually verifying themselves for Nightlight, right? I know I’ve never even looked up the website before.
Exactly. Almost all of their stats are self-reported, so if you’ve never submitted any, and most of us haven’t, there is no automatic way for them to get counted.
-
It’s reliable in that all the stats are verified. It’s unreliable in that it’s a very small sample size.
-
Lmao the compensation is getting to enjoy the game without game-breaking bugs.
-
Pinhead: improved chain AI. The amount of follow up chains that spawn so that they’ll never connect or immediately break is too damn high. I’d also prefer if Pinhead did not break his own chains. And maybe a hemorrhage/mangled add on, if there’s time.
-
"Does any other killer benefit from missing their power?"
Current Clown.
-
From another thread earlier this year about the exact same thing.
-
BHVR does not ban people for using (known) bugs. If it is bad enough, they will kill switch it…. Oh wait.
-
Lethal Pursuer + Any Killer Able to Damage/Down You Before The Perk Effect Is Over. Fun.

In what world are console users the most likely hackers? You know that hackers can spoof their platform and make it look like they’re on console, right? The overwhelming majority of hackers and cheaters are using a computer.
As to your topic, without video, there’s no way for us to see or confirm if the surv was vaulting unnaturally fast or if there was lag, for example.

What an incredibly dismissive comment for no reason other than just being rude. OP is right. This game is extremely unstable that basic QA testing would help mitigate. The state of this game is completely unacceptable in my opinion.
Did you see the part where OP realized that it wasn’t the servers and the problem was indeed their own internet connection? LockerLurk was right.
-
Pig was my first main as I am a diehard SAW fan.
Eventually I settled on Pinhead as my main, despite having never seen any of the movies before his arrival in DBD. He’s been my one and only since his debut and it isn’t close. According to the DBD Stats page, I have over 1500 hours on Pinhead in matches; my second most played killer is at 35 hours.
-
"You put 60 coins in the left plate, and 40 coins in the right plate. The scale is going to fall down on the left and raise up on the right because the scale is clearly imbalanced."
This would be a great analogy if DBD weren't an asymm. It's more like having one large coin on one side and 4 smaller coins on the other side, and trying to even those out. They'll never be identical, they're different sizes and weights, but a balance can still be attempted, even if it means putting your thumb on side of the scale or the other.
-
If the killer wants to dedicate 1/4 of their build to something that can easily be baited out instead, then why not?
