Those are not the last 8 releases. You forgot Krasue and Houndmaster, who both have M2s but get the majority of their hits and downs from M1s. Also, Lich came out after Unknown. Also also, Trickster has existed for a long time and was already an M2 killer before his unrework.
To the plea for more M1 variety posed by OP: can you come up with an interesting and fun mechanic for an M1 killer that isn't already in the game? IMO, it's not that the devs dislike making M1 killers, it's that their design is inherently limited. There are only so many ways to M1 a surv, but there are myriad ways to invent a new M2.
-
All the 'broken' things described in the OP are intended by design. Skill issue
-
I like how OP added an edit to include MORE misinformation. Jason is never 4.8.

That perk needs no changes.
I think it would be a more fair perk if killers couldn't use their power until after the initial aura read finishes. It feels so bad to get hit with a hatchet or hillbillly chainsaw or blight rush, etc. before even getting your bearings or checking your teammates perks. Make killers walk for ~10 seconds and THEN they can murder us.
-
We don't need aim assist, we need dead zone sliders. Insane that DBD still doesn't have that option ten years later.

Its gone, deleted just like his hit x shread hits or mayers, pihead achivements.
Even as someone who unlocked many of them they still got deleted from my collection, shame.
Not technically deleted, rather they were changed. DBD still has the same overall number of achievements.

Update: playing as jason is fun. Spent a minute or two faffing around with my power then got my adept very easily.
Playing against jason absolutely sucks. Hit scan ranged attack plus map traversal and teleports? Sure that's balanced 🙃
Jason’s ranged attack is absolutely not hit scan lol
-
Something to do with a Microsoft policy to not allow people to hide their gamertags. It's out of BHVR's hands.
-
Pinhead’s chains in DBD are pathetic compared to the movie version.
In the movies, if chains attach to a character, it’s GG for them, the chains are metal and they never break for any reason.
In DBD, the chains look and sound like metal but are actually made of tissue paper, and can break from the environment, survivors, the killer, even a stiff breeze.
-
They don’t? It sounds like you’re not hitting the vault at the correct angle.

Like I'm pretty sure I haven't spent 1400+ hours staring at the main menu.
The stats only go back to Fall of 2020. So if you played before then, that would explain why would have so many hours with the game open and so few hours actually in match.

But should you be punished for your teammates' misplay?
Yup, that’s how being on a team works.
Should you get carried by your teammates’ superior plays?
Yup, that’s how being on a team works.
-
So, punish the killers for the survivors' misplay? Of course it sucks when no one will save you, but unhooking yourself is one of the strongest things a surv can do, giving it to them for free cause of their teammates' mistakes is wild.

Why can't we play as killer while we wait in the 2v8 queue?
The whole point of Play While You Wait is that there are too many killers and not enough survivors, hence long killer queues. PWYW eases the congestion by turning waiting killing players into active survivors. If you could try to play 1v4 killer while you waited for 2v8 killer, that would only make the killer queues in both modes longer.

As much as the feature sounds good for the killers..
- What does it do to the survivors who decide TO REMAIN in the match in question?
The way I see it, an AI will be placed to replace the player, and frankly.. If I wanted to play with AI, I'd play as a killer in custom lobbies.
This does completely shifts my mind and makes me wanna avoid the game for as long as this feature remains in the game, because that's gonna cause messy and unfun matches for the other survivor players. That's not how Play While You Wait works. You are never removed from the survivor game early; you play the entire game out and your queue for killer is saved and waiting for you until after you escape or die. No bots, just place saving.

Quitting a game is not wrong, people have stuff sometimes they need to do and sometimes need to quit. I would gladly take the time penalty but it isn't wrong if you want to or need to. Your basically saying that we are locked in with no way out, which in saying that is wrong
Leaving a game in the middle is wrong. You’re wasting the time of the other players. You agreed to play the game when you queued up, then decided that your time is worth more than other people’s. It’s selfish and should be punished.
-
The only players even remotely affected by Boil Over are controller killers. They’re already at a disadvantage with this input, and you want to punish them even more?? Hard pass.

Unlike Blight, the Nurse has to use her power to attack, as it’s her only way to do so (excluding, of course, troll builds at 4.4/4.6 and survivors who are foolish enough not to run in a straight line or who run back into her arms, allowing her to grab them while moving at 3.8).
Blight, on the other hand, can’t do everything with his power. There are areas where the best strategy is to force the use of a pallet or to gain ground by walking. At 4.4, he will take much longer on these loops to force the survivor to use the pallet, and once it’s broken, he’ll have to keep walking to catch up, since he won’t have all his tokens anymore. Meanwhile, the survivor will have time to reach a new safe area, potentially just as complex for the Blight’s power.
But hey, it was obviously Blight’s fault… it apparently never crossed their minds that being able to stack 4 anti-generator perks might also play a role in all this… instead of balancing perks in general, they nerf (again) a killer. Then again, when you listen to players, it’s never enough… let’s not forget there are still people complaining about Nurse, as if they’d need a Nurse moving at 2 m/s, with only one Blink, and a range of 1 meter.
EVERY killer runs into parts of maps where their power is ineffective or straight up useless. This is not unique to Blight. Why do Blight players insist that they are so negatively affected by maps when it’s clearly worse for lower tier killers? You haven’t even seen nor played as 4.4 Blight but you’re already making up doomsday scenarios in your head. Blight will still be a top 2 killer after the nerfs.
-
Agreed. There aren’t very many different scoring events in BM, so I hope the devs bump up the event points a little. I have not once hit max event points in any BM game so far this year, even when specifically trying to.
-
It does give you post-match BP. It's like this every event, but people are too busy complaining about 'personal offering' to understand how it actually works.
-
If you use a cake, and you get 40k score, you'd get another 40k, plus whatever event score you earned.
If you use the eye, you can get up to 20k in event score, which is doubled in endgame for 40k, plus whatever else you normally earned.
It's much easier to get 20k event score than 40k normally.

The current-gen consoles capable of running games at 120 frames per second (FPS) are the
PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S
and it will get higher in 1-3 years from now.
Current gen consoles, yes. But if the DBD devs never optimize and implement it, it's a moot point. Currently, consoles of any gen can only go up to 60 FPS in DBD.
-
"would make the game way more fun for everyone."
Except for console players. Devs can't even bring console to 120; why should BHVR take the time and resources to give PC players, who already play the game in optimal conditions compared to console, an even bigger advantage?

So i really love the P100 Batches so far but i noticed that i miss some Batches i have like 20 P100s 5 of them Surviver. I wanted to select the Cheryl one and noticed that some are missing (Cheryl, Nancy, Steve & Rick) pnly one i see is Feng. Also on Killer side i miss a few of them (Nurse, Dracula, Freddy, Houndmaster, Ghoul & Springtrap)
Does somone else miss any Batches?
Similar issue here. I have 20 P100s, but only got the badges for 12 of them. I wonder if it's an issue with people who have a lot of P100s? I've talked to a few people with <10 P100s, and they got all their badges.
-
Having 4k hours lifetime is irrelevant here because Krasue has only been out since August (unless your 4k hours are from the last 8 months =P). She IS unpopular, but I wouldn't be surprised to come across a similar number of Houndmasters, Twins, Artists, etc. over the same time period.

Mandy mentions in this thread that they are tweaking the matchmaking bonus behind the scenes and it can result in some abnormalities.

Bloodpoint bonuses right now:
Survivor: None
Killer: 2,5x
Survivor Queue estimated time 16 seconds (and it actually finds games faster than that)
Killer Queue estimated time above 6 minutes (and it actually finds games slower than that)
Just… why? How could you mess up such an easy thing?
It makes no sense to incentive killer with bloodpoints to make the queues even stupider. -
You want mushroom debuffs, undetectable head AND head can break pallets? Lmao what would her weaknesses be?? Just because a killer has built in counter play doesn’t mean they’re underpowered.
-
I like how multiple people have explained, with evidence, that auto-aim/aim dressing exists regardless of what platform you play, and OP absolutely refuses to believe it.
-
14 out of 15 games with high ping. What’s more likely: 90%+ of killers abusing ping, or OP doesn’t live very close to an AWS server?
-
With all due respect, why make the code so many characters? Pretty obnoxious to type it all out on a controller. HORSE26 for example, conveys the same idea without so many unnecessary clicks.
-
If it’s truly random, wouldn’t there be a chance that you get those maps more often than ‘average’? It sounds like you want randomness removed.
-
You do realize that killers aren’t put into 2v8 as is, right? They all have to have their kits adjusted and upgraded for 2v8. That takes time and resources.
-
Every killer's power is worse on indoor maps, except maybe stealth killers. I'm so sick of Blights complaining about indoor maps when they are even more painful for low tier killers.
-
Same problem. At this point, I assume it’s bugged and they will release the drops via code in the future. At least, that’s what I would do.
-
Major self report, OP. BW has plenty of counterplay, and its pick rate is very low. Instead of calling for a niche perk to get nerfed cause you got outplayed one time, maybe learn the counterplay?
-
They gave everyone 250 rift fragments because the event ended prematurely. However, I didn’t get the BP from those frags right away but a couple days later, and I assume the 15k BP is from that.
-
PC killer players would rather play blindfolded than with a controller. Like every chapter, we'll have to wait for the full release before we get a real sense of how the new killer plays on controller.

Being sarcastic towards an experienced player that is exposing the truth of the game's imbalance won't change the fact that this game is heavily killer-sided in a way that is unprecedented in popular PvPs. If Dead by Daylight were Rocket League, it would be like putting a Gold rank player (killer) versus a Champ rank player (survivors) and seeing balanced results.
Comparing a game like RL to DBD is absolutely pointless. There are so many fundamental differences between symmetric and asymmetric games, it’s not even apples and oranges, it’s apples and bowling balls. Of course devs don’t shoot for a 60% win rate on one side of a symmetric game, that would be insane when teams are practically or actually the same on both sides. But with asymms, since there is a notable difference in team size and abilities, it’s inherently UNbalanced. How does one make it as fair as possible while recognizing that? Naturally, it would make sense that the 1 of 1 would have to be stronger than the 1 of 4, and roughly equal to the 4 of 4. Hence the term ‘power role’.
For symmetric games, there are hundreds of precedents for devs to reference and study when making their game. It’s easy to make a game balanced when teams are the same size and have the same kits. For assyms, DBD had basically no template to follow. They don’t have myriad other games to compare to, there are essentially none. You know why balancing DBD isn’t easy or straightforward? Because for the most part, no one has ever done it before!I’m not saying you shouldn’t want DBD to be the best version of itself. We all want that. But don’t fall into that trap of comparing DBD to other games that are symmetric, because almost none of the same rules apply.
-
They changed the matchmaking penalties to avoid salty people that would wait them out only to rage quit immediately again. Now, your penalty doesn't start until you try to ready up. Also, penalties decrease not over time, but over games played.

that’s not our job to figure out now is it? It’s the devs lol
And the devs have decided that two modes won't work. Great post, OP.
-
This suggestion of ranked/unranked play modes gets brought up constantly, but not once have I seen a person suggest HOW that would be enforced. How would you actually get people to ease up and not sweat in the unranked mode? Because until you can do that, all you’re doing is splitting up the player base and making queues longer.
-
The 'back' or 'option' or whatever the hell they call that button on controllers these days. You know, the one next to 'start'. 'Start brings up just the options and configurations now, and 'Back' brings up the match details, including ping.

It literally says you can do it by throwing a snowball just ask in the lobby that someone makes a snowman and let you hit it with snowball. Got it done in first few matches yesterday.
Brilliant! Oh, unless you’re on console and have no lobby chat. Which most people are.
-
Event items used to be in their own tier. When the devs reworked item rarities, they removed the event tier. As a result, they’ve had to reassign event items to an already established tier. So now each event we get to play a guessing game as to how much event stuff will cost and how often it will appear in bloodwebs.

I will never understand the whole 'ruining other players game' survivors get a bot and when the killer quits the game ends and the survivor wins along with a quitter BP bonus.
I dunno about you, but I queued up to play with and against real people, and to see the game played out to its conclusion. I don’t want bots or ‘free wins’ I want to play DBD!
In what world is people rage quitting NOT ruining the game for others?
-
I assume with the spaghetti code that it was easier to leave the totems in their current tiles, or that removing them broke something else. Personally, I'm hoping for boon/hex classes at some point, but I won't hold my breath.
