Nemesis BADLY needs a Pyramid Head style addon pass/rework

They changed his addons to try and make marvin's blood and the coin less appealing… And now it's marvin's blood and licker's tongue instead.

The zombie addons are almost all terrible and a waste. Zombies moving slower is actually more beneficial because it takes survivors longer to lead them away/lead them to pallets etc. The tentacle is the main part of nemesis and the zombies are just an RNG aspect that can either do nothing or stall survivors quite well.

I'd love this so much! Having lots of fun addons to pick for nemesis would make him so much more enticing.

  • Man imagine healing and anti debuff perks actually working…

    Also imagine anti-heal perks working…

Oh wait they both do. if you want a vigil counter, gift of pain activates on unhook, killers should have to maintain healing debuffs and it's not hard at all to do. I'm yet to have someone heal mid chase rn lol

All I can hear is "I cant tunnel off unhook".

  • This perk is wild strong with Hyper focus stake out, and with streetwise's rework you're gonna have a scavenged toolbox with 80 percent charges (imagine if you find a commodius) but its a what if lol

of course that leaves you without chase perks, but it's a good payoff. I do think it should be more enticing as a solo perk however… maybe they could make it work with other items too?

  • I've suggested this a few times myself, if it had a radius on it I think it would be less worrisome for killers who are worried about it.

I feel survivors should be able to work together to fight back, I love helping randoms and this is one of my favourite perks when it works out to do so.

I love the tug of war and chase diversity in this game and I'd really like to keep encouraging this.

It isn't the same thing though. While I do like the character herself (visuals, lore, design), the power is extremely important. I don't play SM just because I like the concept, I play SM because of what she does. I do not want to play a dash killer, I don't want to play a projectile killer, I don't like these kinds of characters. If she becomes one of those, then I will have lost my favorite character. For the second time.

Your second sentence here I do not understand. I have stated, more than once, that a full revert to her 2.0 is something I would support and be happy with. That, alone, already means I won't be satisfied regardless of what they do. If they give her something like the two design previews, if they erase her identity, then yes I won't like it, but this isn't a "damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario".

But I do not think they are taking the best path, quite the contrary. And I wanted to make my voice heard.

More just people in here claiming they are welcoming all opinions, then when someone comes in saying they are excited you all can't accept someone is. At least that's how it comes across to me. It's been like this every thread I've tried to discuss my excitement for the rework.

So, that's just how I feel about people who fight the design previews, there is constructive criticism among points, but generally if anyone is excited it's downvoted and disagreed with lmao.

Literally all my friends are looking forward to her rework, and everytime they come back the ideas are better, so I'm sure by the time it happens (if it does at all with all this disagreement with them at all.)

    Have some optimism lmao

  • Thanks for sharing your ideas, I agree I do like some of the ideas here focusing more on his skill ceiling. I feel that this would be a better direction to experiment with until it feels right.

Truth be told, I would rather have a weak killer that I enjoy, instead of a strong killer that I despise.

You'll still have the killer, she just won't be literally sauceless. They've been listening, but it's very clear you won't be getting the ones we've had before and rightfully so.

What I don't get about purists in these threads are you feel like the vocal minority who won't be happy regardless of how they rework/buff her.

They are in a difficult situation rn regarding her and I think they are taking the best path forward.

  • @GeneralV said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3970421#Comment_3970421

Well, my friend, I can tell ya that what I'm looking forward to is the next design preview.

I really don't want to go through another Freddy situation, it was awful enough the first time. I need her to keep her identity, otherwise it will be the second time I lose my favorite character. I'm tired, boss.

Honestly though, anything is better than her current iteration and state, it's one dimensional and it's a shame that it is. I think they could easily retain the trap playstyle focusing more on Control/information, while giving her new tools and lethality at the same time.

Current Freddy is a great rework IMO, so if it's anything in the direction like that, I think it'll make both sides happy potentially.

I really would like to play her more and the fantasy they are going down with the AMA statement I'm looking forward to the next preview, using all sorts of gadgets to aid in pursuing survivors sounds much more predator like, how I imagined her to be like when she was originally announced.

Purists are always gonna be upset in some way and it's understandable, you liked how strong the OG was with little effort into the gameplay, I personally want more involvement from killers I play.

  • I'm looking forward to the upcoming changes, to play as and against, love how involved with the community they are getting in regards to her.

  • I love this game, and despite me not liking one of the recent killers, when BHVR do Q and A's they usually hit some of the nails on the head regading my concern. I love seeing people overcome tough situations and against the odds, just like a horror game/movie plot.

I also enjoy talking to people on here about the game, people come up with a lot of good ideas.

I would prefer they didn't remove either of those and seems weird to ask for removal of other even tho I disagree with first.
I am just glad they didn't go after Wesker's techs, I don't care why. I just don't think they should.

I agree, I just don't understand the cherry picking.

  • Yeah play what you want, if you don't want the hate to be placed on you, you have anonymous mode too which is nice.

You didn't make him this way, did you, so it's more on BHVR lol

I personally didn't have issue with his hugtech. Thing is you need to look completely down, which means losing LoS of survivor and play blindly, which means survivor had option to change pathing without you knowing.
His hugtech had counterplay to it and wasn't that easy to do imo.

I think Blight's hugtech needed to go. He is second best killer in DBD and his hugtech basically removed his main counterplay. It was also very easy to do.

I don't have issue with Wesker's hugtech. Way more difficult to do and very limited on where it's usefull. It's not like you can, or should use it on every loop.

I only argue for Wesker's removal for the sake of consistency, I don't understand why they were so quick to remove Dog Dracula's but not his, it's odd.

  • @PetTheDoggo said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3968204#Comment_3968204

I don't really mind removal of hugtech for blight, simply because that was something that made him too strong and easy to play in my opinion.

I would definetly be against removing hugtech for Wesker, simply because his version is way more difficult and not really that game breaking.

I was annoyed when it was removed from Dracula.

I think removal/keeping of "techs" should be on case to case basis, not keep everything, nor remove everything.

I still miss Dog Dragula hug tech, whether or not it was healthy for the game lol

They are milking this cow for all it's worth, trying to sell as many units as possible before proceeding with the nerfs.

I am also convinced that this scenario (Kaneki vaulting a pallet while Locking a survivor in place) is currently being deliberately labelled as fair for the same reason, only to be retracted in the future and classified as a bug, because something like this is beyond the limits of what is conceivable.

    Here is the footage:

    https://x.com/VectorASpecter/status/1948227637689610257

This is where I stand as well with my perspective as well, I feel bad for killer players who are getting hyped to play something they feel like they are doing well with only to have it taken from them, that said Ghoul should never have been this strong in the first place and as I keep saying, their designer needs to play against an experienced one over and over again until they see the flaws in their design from a survivor point of view.

I'm really pleased they've been at least listening though and I do hope they fix it so I can not worry about my session being ruined by the killer, rather look forward to playing against them instead.

Coz I enjoy all the recent killers, I think Ghouls is the first I really really really hate.

  • @Brimp said:

Hmm cool… now could we get back 110 trickster until the rework? So the killer can actually be enjoyable and rewarding.

I feel this wouldn't be a huge ask honestly.

  • I think it will be fine so long as they add lobby dodge prevention, which needs to happen anyways, lobby shopping is a real issue rn causing a lot of backfilling and I imagine would fix some of the matchmaking woes people have.

  • @Deathstroke said:

Yeah queque times are my biggest issue too at night time you might have to wait 5-10 minutes to find killer match. So how to get more survivors to play?

it'll probably improve a little this patch, then even more when more of phase 2 QoL goes through, so there is that to look forward to on killer side at least with more survivors playing.

  • it doesnt really help on the current build sometimes killers havnt passed through the pallet yet too and you press the prompt and your character still stands there and stares as they approach sometimes haha

What I do is spam vault until it forces them out of cloak as if you have better ping they cant break the pallet and have to hit you, and you can mindgame around that.

  • I imagine its something similliar to 2v8's anti slug, which only really gets used if left on the floor indefinately anyways, and the killer can follow it up to maintain pressure. So in short, probably an answer to long term slugging and not short term.

Which I think is perfectly reasonable.

  • I've never really used it since it's rework to comment, most cases I need the gate open faster I'm one of the last alive or last 2… so I just don't see the appeal.

I feel like it's strong in a case where it doesn't need to be stronger, snowballing. I will admit though I don't have the recent experience in 4 man situations where I feel I've needed it.

  • For me it's just the queue times, and sometimes server hiccups messing with the killers I play (Unknown). Mainly its the queue times though that puts me off. I have to draw on the side while waiting.

    broken prevents healing altogether.

what i am suggesting will remove positive healing speed modifiers.

I'd be okay with that if it doesn't ALSO slow down, honestly.

  • Legendary outfits being a possibility?! Awesome!!!

Also re survivor volumes, that's amazing: But I think what the person was meaning was on hit Rebecca moans for like 5 seconds straight for example. I should be as short as others.

I also still think Claire is way too loud lol

  • @Brimp said:

For those who don't know vigil is currently bugged to be 66% faster recovery of the slew of status effects instead of 40%. I would unironically go as far as to kill switch it because if every survivor is running it… The average status effect duration would be cut more than in half.

Oh I didn't notice this, do you have any clips of it?

  • My most underated solo Q perk: Strength in Shadows honestly, I feel it has came in clutch a few times for me recently, I only really use it when I have no other option to be healed so I dont get tunneled out. So funny how many killers dont think to check basement (without aura reading).

    2 builds I really like:

Champion of Light, Exultation, Flash Bang, Residual manifest (My Alan Wake build LOL)

Overcome, Empathic, Bond, Duty of Care (so I can help others in solo queue and save them)

  • I think this should be a thing honestly, as people are bringing chance offerings to mainly go next and they really shouldn't be abusable like so. This would make them more enticing without them being utterly broken honestly.

Happy 9th Anniversary Dead by Daylight! here's to many more!

What a fun way to celebrate, cheers to you!

  • I LOVE the environments in this game, the attention to detail in the evironments especially in licensed maps is beautiful, the team do such a great job, the silent hill maps easter eggs and the cool animated props. Or the jump scares and references in the nostromo itself. The original chapters are so cool too, Greenvale Square is beautiful as is the new Ormond Mines, I really hope they keep this up. New maps are always some of the most exciting things to look forward to <3 I also love how detailed killers are, Unknowns animations are some of the coolest and intricate in the game, Xenomoprhs entrance animation, Chuckies toy like animations. They are amazing!

I find frustrating is all the visual errors in survivor cosmetics atm, like Jill and Lara's shoulders collapsing while on generators (really obvious on their bare shoulders) and male survivor fingers crossing while healing too. and the amount of dirt needlessly piled onto older cosmetics which makes them really ugly. I understand it's for the setting, but then we get the witcher cosmetics that have such a nice balance and look so clean. The survivor materials/lighting update was a big help, but I feel the animation bugs and lack there of unique ones (Last stand does not look like a kick at all, also where is the Decisive Strike change? Can we have a refined version of that please with an item in the survivors hand to stab with?)

Like the quality of Cheryl Mason vs Pyramid Head is wild to me

Also Ghoul, ew, but that's no secret.

  • @SpringMyTrap said:

i think it's about time mangled effect gets reworked to nullify all healing speed bonuses survivors may have.

    So, broken? lol

  • @drag27 said:

He cant be boring to face, if anything he's exciting to face with being mobile and being able to hop around. Think you all want a killer thats weighted down and slower than your run speed

There are plenty fast killers which are funner to face than Ghoul. Wesker being one of them, the difference is Wesker is fun to face.

  • Yes I'm experiencing this too, EU seems to recognise killers in a really strong state right now so it's the popular role. Survivor really needs attention.

  • Incredibly boring, screaming anime profile picture was not the call.

Giving a killer hitscan for a free hit, insane mobility, scamper that injures you if you stay anywhere near the vault location, the ability to cancel his power after grabbing you for free hindered application, Slingshot tech, insane synergy with the likes of dissolution.

The list could go on and on. I'm just so sick of hearing his terror radius and his screeching, whoever designed him needs to be forced to play against him again and again and again, against an experienced one until they learn to NEVER design something this crazy again. Like the survivor experience was not taken into account at all when designing this killer.

  • I feel bots are useless with any killer with a larger terror radius.

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

I play primarily on PS5 and some on PC, and there is absolutely an input delay on PS5 relative to PC. It's most notable on skill checks, as mentioned above. If you hit the button at the point it would net a great skill check on PS5 on PC, you'll miss it because you were too early.

This lag is also present on other places as well.

I'm glad it's not just me, I really hope it gets fixed because I'd really like to play ps5 more comfortably. I tested it on my monitor and it still persists so, I think it's definately a console only issue as my friend let me try it on xbox too and it exists there also.

  • Maybe Dark Theory could work as an exhaustion perk buffer/status cleanser:
-add some ms or duration to the speed boost of some
-work like vigil as a vigil alternative for a group

Or maybe it could prevent hindered within its radius?

  • I think this perks usability would be fine if party pallets lasted a short while before breaking, like maybe 2 or so seconds upon falling down.

As it stands it completley defeats the point of a pallet if it doest create space between you and the killer, enduring makes this perk worthless.

"why does this community refuse to understand that winning as killer will raise your mmr to the point where u will get sweats after sweats and same goes for survivor the more u escape the harder the killers u will face…"

Because this is incorrect. You should know that there is a soft cap for MMR. So people who have really high MMR get paired with people who barely reach the Soft Cap. There is no point where you will get "sweats after sweats", yet people like you think that they are special cases who only go against sweats.

And yes, DBD in its core is simple. That you bring up special cases like Singularity shows that you did not understand this message, lol. Especially Killer Mains for some reason think that you must have 130 IQ+ and the looks of a supermodel, otherwise you cannot play Killer, because DBD is such a hard and difficult game.

Plus there are cases rn like killers having long queue times and survivors being in need more than ever with near instant queues. Backfills too causing issues.

So matchmaking is probably the wild west rn.

You're right, I've never played on anything but Playstation so I really have nothing to compare to.

I can say that PS5 is leagues better than PS4 though.

That's completly understandable! Thanks for the input on the situation, my friend who plays on PS5 says the same and they only play console too. So it's why I ask, because I know I'm being really particular and trying to understand why I feel this difference.

I don't know for sure but maybe the PS5 only switches to 120hz when a game supports it. So unlike the steam deck or PC, which you could still manually set higher, perhaps it always keeps the tv refresh rate at 60.

Again, I haven't tested this since they added 120hz, in game settings, to PC. It may not even make a difference anymore. I always thought it was odd because I expect a game to have more input delay at 60, but running the desktop refresh rate higher always made the delay better it's not something I've ever really noticed with any other game.

You may be able to test it by hooking your steam deck to your TV and change the steam decks settings to 60 fps and the games settings to 60 fps and see if it feels similar to the PS5. I've never used a steam deck OLED so you may just be able to do it with the steam deck screen itself as well

True, I could see if the steam deck has settings for it. Honestly though would it hurt to have a high refresh rate mode for ps5 pro I wonder? hm…

  • @Moonras2 said:

I use to notice this with my Xbox. I'm not sure but I think it was just due to the 60 fps limit when I would notice it. On my PC I could set the desktop frame rate to 60 and it would feel the same. If I set my desktop to 120 or higher the input delay would practically go away, even when running the game at 60fps anyway. I haven't tried this since they added 120 support in game so I'm not sure if that would act the same or not.

For the most part, when I had my steam deck, I didn't notice much difference between it and the Xbox. By chance are you using the steam deck OLED? Maybe the 90 hz refresh rate is helping it.

Yeah I'm using the steam deck OLED, I figured using an OLED with my PS5 Pro would make it better but I suppose it doesn't help

Most of Hawkins pallets are generally good.

GoJ still is extremely survivor sided.

"Hey, there's like 3 killers who do well on the Game, therefore it's a MASSIVELY killer sided map!" Really?

IDK pre 6.1.0 I'd agree with you, but we killers have had so many nice changes the game isn't that bad anymore, especially with anti pallet perks. The games largest downsides is it has barely any windows I wanna say too, which is what makes it really unique compared to other maps.

I'd even go as far to disagree with Pulsar where Trapper especially with good addons is fine on that map as he denies a lot of the god pallets and can do it mid chase and catch up more easily. I've play against a few nasty trappers on there.

Coz I'm fine arguing the whole killers without addons thing, except BP economy is so good rn you'd have to literally never play at all to have no addons for your killer.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

Reading comprehension. You should try it.

The car loops are literally copy pasted every five feet. The ambulances are actually LESS strong than the normal car tiles because you can at least attempt to mind game them. The car tiles, the survivor can see over you the entire time.

No map should have three main buildings AND shack. It's absolutely preposterous. Both of the houses are as strong as many main buildings in other maps, plus you have the school which is arguably the strongest main in the game. AND you have shack. And almost every filler tile is strong, too.

EDIT: I can't think of any part of the map that is "weak." There is always an extremely strong structure within a single SB distance. And good luck getting hits at tiles where the survivor can literally see you the entire time.

Why are you accusing people of not reading when you aren't taking any points in ever, in like any of the threads I've interacted with you in. LOL

Like seriously, you didn't even read your own message that I reiterated to you and you're coming at me with that? Bruh.

Car loops are some of the least recurring I'd say on the map you have:
    -Cars
    -Ambulances
    -Cinder blocks
    -Hedges
    -Fences
    -Killer shack
    -School
    -2 story house
    -Underground house

How is that not varied, since you claim I'm not reading, how about you read this and tell me thats not variation in comparison to coldwind are located:

    -Jungle gyms
-Main building (if it even has a main building)
    -Killer shack
    -Haybales
    -diggers
    -Corn

We should have more in maps to interact with, ormond mines understood this and it's one of my favourite maps on both sides, Badham is how haddonfield should be and it's also proof that having more main buildings doesn't = omg broken, coz haddonfield has like 4 lol

  • @TimberGoingDown said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3967564#Comment_3967564

I'm sorry, how is running around the same copy-pasted car loop six times in order to get the pallet drop, run five feet and repeat, an "interesting chase?"

But these would be fine if they didn't all connect to massive, multi-level main buildings with God Windows and strong pallets.

How are they copy pasted, you said it yourself lol there are different structures which are all unique. Every map has repeatable tiles just in badham most of them aren't the safest as they are half walls (cinder blocks) aside from the ambulances.

Coldwind on the other hand has limited pallets and its all just jungle gyms far and few spread out. I think thompson house is fine-ish, but the cowshed is doo doo (that is the one with the hanging cows, right?). and rotten fields is boring too.

Haddonfield was overnerfed to the point it's just tragic. You either have balanced landing or you die.

  • @LockerLurk said:

We already have it. It's called 2v8.

It has a lot of the issues you mentioned.

2v8 would be okay if they deleted Legion lol

  • I want to say Killers have been handheld and given way too much recently, it's never been easier for me to tunnel if I want to or have pressure without gen regression, people who say otherwise just aren't trying to improve. I think they listen to the wrong crowd and the amount of killer content creators going for win streaks and it not being dealt with how toxic it is for the community is WILD.

I have no issue with challenges, but if you're on a 100 or so win streak and you're not the only creator who can do that… maybe that needs addressed, asap.

Also S-Tiers still running rampant and killing (lol) killer variety, Survivor needs more S-Tier options if they are to remain, I think with current map design "Dead Hard for distance" is negligable and a death to a playstyle many loved, especially when dramaturgy exists and killers are crying for the same reason re that too. Not to mention if some killers suffer, then we can buff them.

Either deal with ghoul etc, or brink back S-Tier perks for survivor, especially with how much pain-res + DMS are in every game near enough rn.

We need to even the playing field, and make both sides fun again. Killer queues are the longest they've ever been at times for a while now, it's very telling yet BHVR is mega silent and only seem to care about one region (at least in my opinion)

    image.png

Some of my stats recently, like IDK this isn't okay

  • It has strong tiles but I don't find this map particularly bad on killer. I enjoy the chases and the tile variety.

Really dislike their new maps like Haddonfield and the Coldwind reworks, as barely encourage any tile variation and result in boring chases.

1 … 36 37 38 39 40 … 75
