Yeah a lot of my friends only come to play for 2v8, it's a really nice casual experience for everyone to enjoy the game, I feel like a simpler mode for people to enjoy and learn could be helpful for 1v4 for sure.

People are worried because, historically, when things have been pulled back, they usually get butchered and remain ineffectual.
Recent memory shows Fog Vials, for example.
More historically? Anti-Slug was pulled back once to be reworked and then got scrapped for multiple years.
Likewise, AFC sounded really good, but it didn't really end up changing a whole lot in terms of frustrating gameplay. If it was bugged and didn't let you unhook yourself, I doubt anyone would even notice.
I think there is a justified worry that BHVR is going to turn the system into something it shouldn't be, instead of addressing (as you said) the issues with the system, which are completely fixable.
Man I really hope they fix the fog vials on maps they are actually a problem on so they can be buffed again, coz I feel that's the only reasons they deserved nerfed and it's not even every map.
I was really excited for that item too lol -
Supposedly they use the free version of EAC, which would be a good place to start if it's true, maybe having the payed for updated version would keep it more ahead of the curve, it's not really a small game anymore.
emphasis on supposedly tho. -
I still enjoy the mode over 1v4 honestly, I get to play with all my friends and not worry about all the details of the game
-
I hope they do it
-
I really wish the yui one was unlinked, it's a great set
-
I just want the general mood of 2v8 to come to 1v4, chaos with silly shenanigans and horror for people to enjoy casually.
I'm so tired of the competitive crowd sucking the fun out of the game. -

I personally feel like effects to discourage tunneling would be good, but I'm not so much a fan of flooding the game with a tonne of basekit effects on either side to achieve that goal.
Ideally there would be better tools Survivors could bring against tunneling that wasn't just perks... having anti tunnel methods expanded to give more Survivor options wpuld be good.
I had an idea of buffing Fog Vials to have more utility vs. tunneling. Which involved the following buffs:
- 1 or 2 more charges
- Being in the smoke hides loud noise notifications.
- Being in the smoke hides the survivors status on the HUD (reuse the PTB effect).
- These effects lingers for 4 seconds after leaving the smoke.
In conjunction with hiding scratch marks, this gives Survivors a tool to use that allows them to fast vault windows to get away, allows the use of lockers to hide (and Lucky Star/Iron Will), allows use of Babysitter or Borrowed Time, maybe even Duty of Care to help a unhook survivor get clear.
If we really want to get nuts, we could allow a hooked Survivor with a Fog Vial to use one on hook. Could come in clutch to bait the killer with Camaradarie or Reassurance.
For killers, the unique hook haste effect isn't gonna bridge the gap between M1 and M2 killers, since M2 killers get it too and something that disables on Primary power use coul be clunky… but that effect could be nice. A stronger/longer affect that only applies when in chase might also be good.
I feel like they were overnerfed when not considering the maps where they were silly on, like when working as intended they were fine, it was just certain maps.
Also re this threads topic, killer queue times are long and I feel with the appropriate changes to the hooks required or whatever it'd be fine to see how it sits with the general playerbase for further tweaks. We should not have listened to kneejerk reactions outside of the valid concerns and went from there.
that's my take on it at least. Coz we only get so much data from the fraction of steam players during a huge release such a silksong. -

I feel you! I'm on PS5, and as much as I'd love to participate in the PTB, it's only available for Steam players. So even if I wanted to test the supposedly awful new mechanics on the PTB, I can't.
Yeah I feel this is why I want to see things go to live, coz the walled garden they test it in is usually giving only part of the picture in regards to feedback.
That said, I'm not saying the opinions are wrong just that we really need more people to test these changes somehow. Maybe an event queue with the changes? -

I actually don't hate Heather's DBD face. It feels a little more like what she could look like if she were designed by Sato.
But while we're at it, I do have some gripes too.
- Cybil's outfit is more based on the Silent Hill movie, which feels very bizarre. Her silhouette isn't as nice as the original game. Minor gripe, I admit but still.
- James' outfit is mostly correct, but he's wearing loafers instead of his leather boots. That always drives me crazy.
- Likewise, Maria's outfit is almost perfect but her shoes are wrong. I understand we can't have high heels, but short heels with the red bottoms would still be very welcome.
- I'm very happy with Lisa overall, but her skirt is way too short. That might be a limitation of the engine though.
Maria has dark marks down her back where normal maps should be, it looks like her dimples etc are stained.
Cheryl looks like a giraffe and her hair is all wierd at the back
Cybils hair looks like its falling off her head at the back. even if the model doesn't look bad overall, the hair is like the main thing which needs fixed I feel. -
Harry Mason and all of the silent hill cast added, coz the gremlins we have at the moment don't look like them or feel like I'm playing as them.
-
I'm probably going to pass this chapter since I have the pass finished and lots of cool games out at the same time as it, the removal of the QoL has made me a bit less enthusiastic. Killer queues are quite long recently so I'd have liked to see if it made them more bareable, main thing I saw that was valid was the amount of hooks needed to avoid the punishment.
I feel like they could have made minor changes to the system and see how it went and then went from there in the next PTB. Coz I don't trust Content Creators/general killer opinions after Kaneki/Blight/facecamping ptbs where they all claimed these were all trash or going to kill the game respectively.
I'll catch up with the new killer and survivor later though, they aren't going anywhere. -
The hair as well needs fixed so badly.
This has been direly needed for so long, please fix Cybils hair too, it's nothing like her actual SH1 self and bring her pants up to her waist. -
I guess I was just hoping they'd make tweaks to the one they have now for the hooks required and then go from there and refine it with each patch with the data they'd get on live. I was really looking forward to the fresh hook incentives, I was also hoping killer queues would get shorter.
Do we know if the deadzone QoL is still going live? I loved the new locker placements etc for playing Dredge, I seen they started to put some in corners etc, and it'd be nice for head on also. Borgo is the main map I hope has been changed. -

I agree. I find it so strange they didn't make pain resonance basekit or give killers a weaker pain res on a fresh hook instead of a weaker pop goes the weasel. The gen kick buff will only be usefull on killers that can move around quickly, while pain res basekit or a weaker pain res basekit would be universally usefull. The fact they went with pop makes me think that pain res is gonna get gutted soon or they want people to stop using it.
Yeah I agree with you there, a weaker pain resonance would be more universally useful for none high mobility killers.

The Tunelling solution has some flaws for sure.
For the Slugging one, they only need to make it so every self-pickup takes 90 seconds, not just the first, as it seems atm.
I feel I need to see it on the servers first, coz like 90s total is a long time and a lot of the bleed timer.
because you still have to recover the 2nd time and the 3rd etc. -
Yeah I was really disappointed when I saw that was the only change, I feel like they aren't watching a lot of casual players opinions on facing the killer. I don't know a single person I play with who likes him.
There is this annoying thing he can do where he can cancel a grab on you to hinder you all the while getting close that feels awful too, similliar to kidnap tech but its like out in the open with no vault involved too. -
I honestly think that a lot of on hook gen regression might get targetted with the new baseline incentives, I could be wrong though.

I play both roles.
I'm anti-tunneling so as killer I'm completely happy so far. Basekit is being buffed. I'm getting mini perks for free. I'm finally being rewarded for playing fair. I'll have to see how gameplay goes, but so far I see no negatives if you aren't using cheese tactics. I actually excited to play killer more now.
On the flipside, as survivor I'm getting the worst issues addressed: tunneling and slugging. BUT as a sneaky gen jockey, my own personal playstyle might be negatively affected. I might be forced to improve at chase. And I'm okay with that if I can avoid spending the game on the ground or getting stuck spectating with an 8k score.
This is how I feel too, I'm really excited as a killer player getting to play how I want to.
-
I'm excited for the new patch as a killer who goes for different survivors and runs a chase build, having all these bonuses for the way I'm playing? Very exciting, I get more pressure for playing more interactively, awesome.
-
Yes you can! I personally like using Off the record, Decisive + Wicked with it if i do run it.
To make me harder to focus out if I get caught in basement, and less reliant on team mates. -
I'm just hoping the changes make him fun to play against, and let people who enjoy him still enjoy him after the changes.
I do think a lot of the people who are clinging to him for the wrong reasons however, but I've seen some passionate players of the killer with great feedback threads recently. All I want is to enjoy playing aginst them, I don't really care much for playing hyper mobility killers, not my playstyle. -
The rework they are doing is good news at least, I'd rather they focus on the games health right now like they are honestly. This year has been full of nice changes even if some have had some hiccups. Looking forward to more of Phase 2 and the Rework in 2026.
-
I do enjoy playing against him when he isn't played to stall a game, but I really hate lame time-wasting Larry's

The game is asymmetrical.
And? That was the original reason killers didn't get the QoL. It's such a stinky arguement to deny things at this point.
-
I hope so as it'd add to killer rosters diversity for sure

Yeah I'm really hoping the new update fixes this, sometimes it feels like the game is relaying information LATE to you on both sides, it's horrible.

Well, i totally respect your opinion but i think this is where we cannot agree. You feel it is fine to work a bit harder on those cases, like it's fine to get punished by an anti-tunnel perk if you are not tunneling, while i think it is not fine, no matter if there are options that can make you do it faster or not. It's an anti-tunnel perk and should not punish non-tunnelers.
That's fine, I just don't like people arguing that survivors should be even easier to kill in a game where tunneling is a huge issue, when powering through these perks takes 0 effort rn as it is.
I think when we have baseline anti tunnel we can talk, because we still dont have faster unhook times to compensate for the faster m1 speeds for example. So much which has been ignored since 6.1.0 -

what did you expect in an assym? the power role not to be powerful? Escaping is meant to be a struggle. The real problem is we've had two survivorless licensed chapters in a row, with only Orela to give something to the survivor side. If they want the game to be balanced both sides need to gain equally.
There is a difference between a Survivor experience and a Victim experience though, and casual gameplay often is the latter rn.

what do you mean? I really disagree that she is in a good place pressure wise right now as survivors can just disable your teleport for free
like, for example, there have been many times where I pick someone up and look for a hook near a tv, then release that im kidding myself because the unhooker will just disable the tv with no consequence so it might as well not be thereIt's not for free, it speeds up the condemned the more you do it, I think her pressure is really good rn especially in a good players hands with her. She also blocks items from being used so long as a survivor has a tape, she has unique utility.
Also that's fine, you shouldn't be able to just teleport right back to hook and it's valid counterplay, we need more of that for killers with the ability to go right back to hook. You want the tunnel so bad? Make your way manually.
Like I feel if her teleport was faster she'd be strong, if the CD was faster or more available she'd build condemned way too fast. She is probably in a good place rn just probably needs better addons like what P.Head got. I'm not really wanting to play against a killer which is utterly broken, and I like playing as her because she has a unique playstyle, can it be improved? Yes.
But I don't think making her oppressive for just teleporting is the answer, nor being able to just deny a survivor their stack removal by being stinky. She is in a place where she has better chase and good utility/passive slowdown if you're applying pressure right.
The lullaby is there just like it is for chucky, she is short and hard to see, so it's for accessibility. I could go on and on.
She is in a good place rn and I honestly believe she just needs fine tuning/addon reworks at most, I speak from playing as her and against her. -

I don't think its too stinky; it's relatively fair as the base version is available on the shop.
I'm happy the Jeff moth coat is no longer amazon exclusive
But having more choice is really nice, and it stops FOMO in games, at least long term FOMO. Which I think is always Unhealthy. Time limited is fine.
I never like having to tell my friends "You can't get this anymore" when they like my cosmetic, it sucks. -
that's probably because a lot of sprintrap users run Mindbreaker to counter SB and use those addons.

No. Unlike you, I am a team player. The more teammates we have in the match the more we can get done and all get out. The only time I do NOT watch out for my team is when I get these toxic asshats in the match. I have no problem escaping or being the last to survive and that's with doing all the objectives. That doesn't mean there isn't a real issue here. The more you defend bond the more I believe you are one of those toxic bond users.
"I use it with empathic, Overcome and duty of care so I can save others and take the chase for them potentially while giving a speed boost."
There is a difference between being a team player and blaming others and being toxic by insulting people.

This.. kinda remebers me of the time when people were discussing about survivors weaponizing DS by going into gens before the Conspicuous Actions were a thing, and some people were defending that DS did not need to deactivate when doing a gen, you could just leave the survivor in the ground. If they also had Unbreakable, then at least there was some time where they were not doing the gen. Sure it was not "fair" but hey, killers had options to do.
But after all, the Conspicuous Actions were added, because survivors were weaponizing it. My point is the same, do i have options? Yes of course i have, but even if i have them i still think its neither fair nor logic to get pusnished by an anti-tunnel perk if i am not even tunneling in the first place (talking about bodyblocking hits).
No need to get nitpicky with my example. What i just meant is "I hook survivor and leave to search others. Survivor is unhooked. I do not find any other survivor and some time later it just happen that i find the survivor that was hooked early."
Im sorry but on that case if i go after that survivor im for sure not tunneling them. There was time for the chase to be reset, and i didnt make my way to search for him, it just did happen to get in front of me, and leaving him would be just not playing correctly on purpose. Would be similar as survivors just stopping doing the gens and start watching the sky instead of repairing the gens.
Similar problem as everything related to doing gens is started to get called "gen rushing". Hooking a survivor two times even if you didnt hook other survivors in between, can or cannot be tunneling. It depends.
So let me clarify, I mean specifically the act of getting a survivor out of a game first and as soon as possible. Conspicuous actions are very different from killing a survivor who is trying to recover from being focused out AKA Tunneling.
If a survivor is doing nothing in the entirety of OTR's duration, they are more of a detriment to the other survivors and a boon to us killers.
I just find it an extreme case of a survivor somehow doing nothing in all the time they had it up is really unlikely. Usually I encounter it when I intercept a survivor BEING HEALED who is trying to recover.
I feel it's fine to have to work a little harder to get someone out, it's applying pressure and powering through the perk, it happens and is doable some killers have an easier time than others doing so too (deep wound killers).
I just don't see an issue with a perk doing what it's designed to do. If it's being weaponised, I find it's the most annoying when you're trying to tunnel survivors out to reduce pressure but all 4 of them have the perk (therefor a team who has built completly against such a tactic).
I really like rapid brutality and STBFL for endurance, since I can farm off it and keep the pressure going. -
@StalkingYou said:

I agree, and this is why I had lots of fun with her original version.
But the problem is that:
TV's are free to turn off with no consequence so using them to pressure pretty much anything is basically impossible now that they're always turned off
And the teleport takes 5 years to complete so by the time you're done TPing mid chase the survivor has already ran in the opposite directionThere is a consequence in getting cursed, so it does add up, it wastes a lot of time in the grand scheme of things and I think with the new spawns she is in a good place re pressure now, as its easier to apply stacks with them being near objectives.
I feel the teleports for chasing is what needs help yeah, kind of like what dredge recieved, the phasing in and out I feel is in a good place however. Maybe the more cursed survivors are the faster they come off CD? But that could be really oppressive too -
I really dislike blockbuster simulator that they all play coz they can't move on from the first rework, it's not fun to interact with.
I much prefer smart Sadakos who use their teleports mid chase/to pressure gens.
I think her phase is really unique since it basically denys stuns of any kind, it's really different to other killers so I can see why there is a lullaby. -
I think bond is more useful than kindred honestly
-

Don't worry, they'll give him a second nerf once they've maximized the licensed DLC profits from his target market of killer mains that want free easy 4Ks with minimal effort invested. The first nerf was just a little slap on the wrist to calm down the outraged mob of survivors at the fact that his "counterplay" was laughable and still is. The funny part is that DBD League commentators were pretending he has such great counter play in the grandfinal tournament today, despite having banned a kidnap tech, and imposing a ######### ton of other rules to make killer less oppressive.

As i explained in my first post, i don't think it's as easy as "just hit them or leave them". I shouldnt need to hit the one bodyblocking with OTR and i shouldnt need to leave the chase because one of them is bodyblocking with OTR. That is an anti-tunnel perk and im trying to go after other survivor, i should not be punished by an anti-tunnel perk if i am not tunneling.
And about your description…i do think is not that acurrate. So, for example, lets say i hook a survivor and leave the hook into other gens. The survivor gets unhooked. I dont find any other survivor on the map. Then i find other survivor and i hit him, but he goes into a strong looping zone and with no gens in it, so i leave it. I wander around the map and i find the survivor that i hooked, so i start a chase with it. It has been like 3-4 minutes since that survivor was unhooked.
By your description, i am tunneling the survivor. But i dont actually think that is actual tunneling.
You're basically making excuses for not dealing with the situation at hand though? You had options but you're saying "I shouldn't need to", so you'd let them get in the way making themselves more vulnerable and easier to tunnel? If a survivor is doing that punish them for it, they still have to remove deep wounds then do something else.
My description is accurate you're just overcomplicating the term tunneling. lol You're getting them out as soon as possible comparitively to other survivors, whether or not that is intentional.
Tunneling = focusing, so by choosing to focus them you are tunneling. If the other survivor did all that time doing nothing to remove DS/OTR, then they weren't doing gens.
So you gave up your previous chase to focus someone who wasn't being productive, all because you couldn't play X tile properly, if others were doing gens then there WAS options. -

You didn't even read what I said apparently. Who said I wanted to stay on the gen? Who said I wanted to claim it like I was entitled? That's not even close to what I said. There is absolutely nothing I can do when people bring bond just to harass other players by following them around the entire match. And I do mean, they are not doing a damn thing but following others to feed them to the killer. Nor do I play solo q. You like to assume an awful lot without actually knowing anything. Again You are giving off toxic bond user vibes!
I'm using that as an example not saying you DID. You can absoloutley get away from someone trying to sandbag you, I'm just saying if you focused less on what others are doing and put yourself first more you'd be better equipped to deal with it, rather than playing the blame game.
It sucks but you just have to adapt. -

You are going like extremely deep and i think you are exaggerating a tiny bit. Even if they made OTR/DS to go off when you heal to full is not going to of all sudden multiply tunneling x200 and make the game of all sudden far worse.
However… i must admit that i didnt think about the syringe addon and that could definetly be a problem as it is instant and a teammate can just deactivate your anti-tunnel perks even if you dont want it.
I think it could be coded for those cases. But still…. when it is really considered "tunneling"? It is usually when you go after the same person just after he got unhooked, but if you are already full healed the chase is fully reset 100%, so i think it loses a bit of the meaning of "tunneling".
Tunnelling is trying to get a player out of the game as fast as possible by focusing on them, regardless of the steps imbetween. If that's your goal you are Tunneling AKA focusing that person out.
Anti-Tunnel is to buy time for a survivor if they are being focused in chase to get free from the killer, stay in the game and allow them a turn to work on objectives by making them less enticing.
If you want it removed so badly, leave them alone or hit them as soon as possible. If they are following you they arent doing gens, right? -

The fact that you said entitled, shows me you ARE one of those toxic people that use bond for your own advantage and you sabotage your teammates. I'm not going to spend the entire match running from other survs. If they used bond to HELP do gens together, that would be cool. But admit it, You use bond to sabo ur team and try to make it out alive!
You're an amusing one, I use it with empathic, Overcome and duty of care so I can save others and take the chase for them potentially while giving a speed boost.
But you can leave the area, staying on the gen and expecting the killer not to go to you is entirely the problem here. Making yourself a harder target to go for is part of the game, I'm not saying there isnt people using bond to do this, but you can stop it from happening by focus on what YOU can do.
Do you think these survivors wont hear a gen being worked on and do the same? Welcome to solo queue. -

But it's anything but lol
Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this one day -
Yeah I've noticed this as well, let's hope it's fixed

I think the survivor experience needs to be taken into account when it comes to his flicks too, some of the hits you get from an oni look really bad on that end.
I think it's great he has been made more accessible for controller, but the hits K+M can get before the ptb was wild.
That said if it's really that bad to do on K+M now it should be looked at (I havn't seen the full extent of what can be done on PTB's changes)
